May be suspicious for me to talk, as I'm the one 'translating' the novel, and I have not yet finished it all, but overall it's a nice read, kinda annoying with the MTL errors, but I hope people will give it a chance now that I'm making it a bit clearer, I know horror is not a popular genre around here, I guess... But I hope someone will enjoy it with me :)

MC wakes up inside a horror game with another 5 teammates, and they all need to clear the game mission to go back to the real world. It has a few things, like the players being able to come back to life if at least one of the teammates finishes the game (they cannot die more than three times, though). First arc is a zombie apocalypse and mostly introducing the characters. I have a lot of fun with the team dynamics, as they are... Truly, just a mess. ML is a retired soldier working as a mercenary and oh, he is so soft to MC! There's a scene where they, *cough* papapa for 14 whole days for... reasons.

Not even considering the other issues with this story (such as the pig teammates), my biggest issue is with the protagonist. At first, he was great at taking charge and the one responsible for most of the progress the team was making (which I enjoyed while it lasted), but after meeting the ML, he has almost no use whatsoever. Or rather, he takes almost no action with his own initiative. Of course he might think about it, but before he can, he's either interrupted or the ML has already resolved... more>> it.

The protagonist becomes increasingly passive as the story goes on. Even without the influence of having a slightly OP ML to take care of everything, the MC often notices something, or is going to say something to his teammates but ends up "swallowing his words" and saying nothing each and every time. This was incredibly frustrating to watch, especially because most of his teammates are incompetent.

Yet another frustration I have with the MC is that he isn't as smart as the in-story universe tries to make him out to be. In actuality, he doesn't have much more intelligence than the average person. He has satisfactory deduction skills, and notices things that inexplicably "gives him a bad feeling, " yes, but he never acts on these. What is the point if you don't change anything based on those bad feelings? And on top of that, he doesn't notice things he should. For example:

In the second arc, he encounters a village full of overly nice and helpful people. In what he knows is a horror game. If that doesn't put you on guard, what will? Surely he should have known it wasn't the time to be relaxing and trusting those obviously suspicious people?!

And when he finds out the truth of the situations of each arc in the end, bemoaning the fact that the game was showing signs everywhere but they just didn't notice, there's no satisfaction because you as the reader have already noticed all of this and probably figured it out from the get go.

If this is the first horror story you've ever read, then it should still be ok. But once you've read enough, the things our oblivious protagonist should have noticed become frustratingly obvious. <<less

WOAAAHHH!!!

I know there are so many people out there who don't like the horror genre due to how scary and frightening they are, but I don't really care about all that. I. LOVE. HORROR. NOVELS! On top of all that, I love BL so much, I could practically die for them!

So what happens when my 2 favorite genre's get smashed together? It becomes an ultimate Horror BL novel!

I was absolutely stunned when I first read this, because I instantly fell in love. I enjoy the story itself, and the cute... more>> interactions between our MC and ML. Truthfully, I've been bored as heck these days, since there was nothing fun to read or watch, as I've already read everything that appeals as "interesting" to me. However, all of a sudden this popped up and I was like, screw it, why not.

I never regretted the decision to start reading this novel.

The storyline can really showcase how cruel one's heart is capable of being, especially when put in dire situations. But seeing the ML and MC fight their way through everything, despite all the chaos going on, really makes it fulfilling. So yeah, thanks for translating this amazing novel and quenching my thirst for entertainment.

The ONLY downside to reading this is the fact that sadly, our MC is stuck with the same damn teammates all the way through. I mean, yay, the MC and ML are always together, but there are also those backstabbing b*tches that had to come along. It's plain awkward to encounter someone who betrayed and kill you in the next instance as they wouldn't know what to say, nor how to act and the entire team would fall apart, not to mention, the atmosphere/mood would be quite tense. Anyways, for anything else, like extra info or whatever had already been said by our dearest translator, Zucci, and yah!

Totally my cup of tea! Keep up the good work~ <<less

If you enjoy reading survival novels like "The Earth is Online", "Global University Entrance Examination", or "I Wasn't Born Lucky", this novel will truly disappoint you. Don't waste your time and just go back!

The author seemed to like to portray MC as smart and reliable protagonist, however, he came out as naive and useless character. The first zombie arc was OK. It was just OK. MC noticed things but he just kept them inside his mind. So, what was the point of noticing them, then? And when ML appeared, MC stopped using his brain and waited for ML to help him every time they met danger and felt sad when the other party didn't. Hello? Is that something a smart protagonist would do? But still, the author kept insisting that he was smart. And whenever ML pointed out something, he was like "no wonder",

"Aww, that's why". Why didn't he notice it first when author want him to be smart. Even I, reader, can see them. What was more frustrating was that there were so many clues about potential danger and those group of players totally disregard those clues, eating and strolling happily as if they were on vacation. No, it is not the indifference of the strong, it is the ignorance of the naive. And teammates were not so likable. They included s*upid to the point of no return idiot, two a-holes and one little girl who was a little creepy. And N0, teammates didn't change each arc and MC had to stuck with those unlikable teammates.

If you don't want to anger yourself to death, don't read it.

I truly enjoy this series! If you like horror and mystery, this is your cup of tea.

MC wakes up in an empty apartment and all doors/windows are locked, then he finds out he's in a horror game system and that he need to complete all games to return to the real world. ML is one of his teammates! Though the focus is on the plot, it's very nice. Reminds me of Game, Live Stream!

Though... There's a twist! I don't want to say it because it will sound weird but,... more>> well...

ch 1-37

I am quite satisfied with the novel right now. It is true that the theme of "entering a game and having to pass it in order to live" is rather common, but still some dynamics of the game have surprised me because I had never seen them before [now I'm reading the second game and the writing and plot makes the story actually scary and really misterious (I have many guesses about whats happening but I don't seem to get anything right) ].

In addition, the protagonist is not the... more>> typical overpowered MC. He is intelligent without taking away the attitude of a normal person in his situation (for example, being afraid and showing it). I am satisfied with him.

Regarding ML, at the moment we don't know much about him but he gives me good vibes. He is rather misterious. And he doesn't eclipse the MC, nor vice versa, which I think is an important point.

On the other hand, we have the dynamics of the MC's team that are somewhat peculiar due to how the members are, but at the same time I think it makes it more interesting.

MC wakes up in a house in a zombie village and has to unite with five party members. I feel like I’ve read this before? MC is stuck with the same teammates. I don’t like it. I did read this before but I think I dropped because of the team situation. Stopped c24. Not liking the team dynamics; I prefer the stories where the team mostly changes in each copy instead of being stuck with a bunch of a-holes over and over again.

This is an intriguing horror game where the MC and his five teammates must pass each round of the game in order to survive on. As the synopsis says, the MC sees for himself how human beings can be even more deadly than the games themselves.

The arcs have their own plots and settings, which make sense in their worlds. However, occurrences in the first two arcs are predictable, which really cuts down on the suspense and surprise. The way the third arc moves is more interesting.

The characters are all well-done... more>> but could you some more description for imagery. They each have their own backgrounds (except the MC and ML thus far) and have their own thought process, ideas, courage, and fears. There are characters who like to plot against others, characters who play sincerely, characters who don't have the slightest amount of courage, characters who withhold information, characters who are narcissistic, etc. In the MC's first team, he as three pig teammates. However, every character other than the MC and ML have shown character development thus far in both good and bad ways. If you don't like a character, don't worry--the teams should change members starting at chapter 56.

The MC himself has no background thus far other than the thought he helped an elderly woman cross the road before he entered the game. There is no information about his family or living situation. There is less background information about him than anyone other than the ML. It's obvious he may have a special relationship with the system or otherwise have other special circumstances involved; that, or the author left all that information out. There is nothing known about the ML, but he appears to have a special relationship with the MC and the system. The novel quality would increase if more depth were given to their characters to pull the readers in.

It's a fun survival game to read, but it never had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The first chapter is the start of the first game, so there isn't any introduction for the readers to comfortably slide into the setting either. It's a good series and I like it, but there are definitely ways it could be better. <<less

Probably 3, 5. I don't dislike this, but I don't like this. I can only say that, this is simple horror bl novel.

MC is ussual and weak person. Indeed I can't call him calm and smart, but he doesn't make hysterics and don't afraid sacrifice himself (doesn't for s*upid people), okay.

I know little about ML, I would say that he handsome and strong man who treats good only for MC, but it's logical act since other people are f*cking a**holes. I would read this more, but this is nothing... more>> special. Ordinary arcs, although its because I already can call arcs which consists in every horror novel. <<less

so far the story fails to be that eye catching, the events are quite predictable and the characters don't make it better.

let's start with a brief explanation of the team:

MC : your average guy with the only functional brain

... more>> Bartender : a brainless idiot his only purpose is to serve some giggles and hahas

rich ceo : very arrogant, the jerk of the team, what's a team without one

office worker : a coward who'll easily throw you under the bus to save his skin (the majority of the team does this but he's making it a personality trait)

quiet girl : mysterious and creepy, she's just there

ML : OP and of course better than everyone at everything, no flaws, his character is the most boring out of the five

Alright now, I could forgive this sorry excuse of a team if it wasn't for the ML, because once he steps into the picture, everyone IQ takes a blow especially the MC, his character falls so flat, even the other teammates poor written character is more entertaining

the author reduced everyone's ability, purely to glorify the ML shoving it into the reader's ass, poor writing skill in short.

the romance, ok it's by far the worst, even those 2015 romcoms written by a bunch of 14 year olds has more depth than this, author this is not how a relationship works, even the other teammates relationships had more stricture than whatever the MC and the ML were on.

In conclusion, this novel was trying so hard to be something it's not, I only got so far because I kind of liked the girl teammate. <<less

So far from what I've read, I've found the MC to be kind of disappointing. He is portrayed to be smart with these 'spidey senses' for danger. Yet, he doesn't really take action or think too deeply/pay attention to details. Most of the themes could be easily understood by the readers, that it seems like the stories have no twist. And the stories aren't really scary, they're gory sure, but not really frightening.

The ML seems to be strong and doting on the MC like any other BL novel. And he... more>> treats the other the members like shit, which I understand.

Another point, is that the team members are very selfish and often fight with each other. I understand that if you were randomly paired with 5 other people, of course you'd be more worried about yourself. But some of the team members just seem to not learn much from the previous instances. And the team members stay the same.

Also, the instances are pretty short. And doesn't seem to be really detailed. But still a nice quick read for those who want something frustrating to read. <<less

MC is actually the main system, who went through a data-cleanse every 50 years to evaluate the difficulty of the instance (+ adjust it to balance the system). He's considered an 'NPC' for the last arc, while the ML is a 'player' who became a GM (a class of people in the system, who lives there permanently as internal staff) - the system isn't evil, but exists as a scientific discovery made to help those who died prematurely (between the age of 16-40) be given another chance at living. The horror/fears are the price, those who have potential will get to be GM - all the participants in this system are technically 'dead' or 'NPC'.

Now that that's out of the way, this novel is really interesting!! I quite enjoy the heavy emphasis on randomized teammates, and the unique element of having the set team that are forced to travel through instances together is really really interesting. Betrayal, pig teammates, cowardice and teeth grinding behaviors are alot, but so is the face slapping parts as well.

Some partings aren't as satisfactory, like certain death of antagonistic characters. There's always a few that pops out that really deserves a worth death than what they got!

I think -- just for experience, try it out because the premise of teammates in this novel is really interesting. Being stuck in a 'team' and having to meet each other 3 more times (if you die 3 more times in 3 instances, you actually permanently die) -- the deterioration of human psyche and relationships, it's really really interesting! I recommend reading up to the demon realm arc. After that, the new team kinda bores me. The arc after that one I gist through, and then I started paying attention again in the orphanage arc, and the bloody mary (last arc) is just. more about the overall system than actual bloody mary. So yeah.

It's quite a short novel, but it's alright. I think just trying it out and having a taste test is nice. You'd be frustrated with the team, but watching people fight is kinda fun.. haha.... <<less

This is a great web novel. I love the subconscious flirting with actual plot. Both most have sense and the story is not just about their relationship. I like Qi Qukai (I don't think I spelled that correctly), and their are small details about all the characters' lives instead of being brushed over.

This one has some good horror but leaning towards being disgusting, I couldn't even eat while reading but still enjoyable (I know, I'm a mess (⁎˃ᆺ˂)) The Main CP and Xiao Xui are enjoyable; but I do hope that the MC grows eventually, like training his body more so he can defend himself.

I also got curious and read the spoilers but it more or less confirmed my theory but I'll still wait to binge on the journey to get there. (◍•ᴗ•◍) ♡ ✧*。
