MC has been transported to another world, which is the popular MMO he had been playing recently, Freed Online.
Using his in-game knowledge, he spends a year working as a guardsman to acquire the warrior occupation, but due to a stroke of RNG, he was instead given three random support classes he didn’t even want.
Now he continues as an adventurer making use of the skills he now has on him.

The translation is solid, but the story itself has an excruciatingly boring beginning. It does say "slow growth at start", but that's not the same thing as the story having nothing interesting going on.

I was expecting a smart MC who makes use of the pros of his three classes from his gaming years (think I'm a Villager, So What? or The Old Man Who Got a Second Round in Another World), but it's basically just the diary of a pushover who notes every little thing he does as he dodders... more>> about.

To put his weak personality into perspective, the MC closes his eyes and waits to die in a fight with a rabbit monster*. That was the cherry on the cake for me. Boring AND pathetic? No thanks. I pushed on a little further but I couldn't deal with any more of his bland narration and pulled out. It's the first time in a long time that I've bailed after just five chapters.

The opening of the story gives me the feeling that this isn't going to be very exciting even after the MC gets his abilities.

*In all fairness, he loses his old abilities upon getting his three new skills, but he's still very mentally weak. No ordinary person would give up that easily.

TL;DR: Unless the story takes a massive heel-face turn, this is a pass. Don't get taken in by the cover. <<less

1/5 - F Tier - Just Pass It

First and foremost, the way the story is written is boring and uninteresting at best and cluttered and unnerving at worst. It's in first-person point of view and I would say the MC/Author sucks at narrating from that very pov.

Second off, the dialogues are bland and brain scratching. If I was being honest, it feels like every character including the MC had a script running in their head. They serve little purpose more than giving information and advancing the plot. So, immediately, do... more>> not expect grand character developments through talking.

Third, the characters are nonexistent. They're all NPCs if you asked me. Maybe that's how characters are supposed to be in a game world? Either way, they don't exactly make for good story materials. They do, however, make for good plot points.

Fourth, the MC is basically MC 101. He is the literal definition of any ol MC you would find in the vast majority of Japanese novels. He is neither smart nor dumb. Neither good looking nor ugly. Neither emotionless nor all too expressive. Almost on the cups of having a personality and, yet, almost not. I'm not even sure if he has a goal, I sure haven't seen one.

This is the type of story where you are constantly wasting time by not reading something else. It's the type that makes you wonder, while you're reading, 'Is there a better one out there? Why am I not reading that one right now instead of this?'

Just pass it. <<less

As I am a big fan of necromancer-esque protagonists and sculptors due to novels like Moonlight Sculptor, this review will contain quite a bit of bias.

So far, it's looking a bit interesting, though it's mainly due to the MC's "divine protection" which might as well be called a class, cause let's be honest, they're classes. Names like [Alchemist], [Sculptor] and etc don't sound like blessings from some divine. I got curious about the novel so I did a quick search on jp. Amazon and found a few reviews stating that... more>> the WN was much better compared to the LN, which is surprising. The translator seems to be planning frequent updates, so that's another thing to look forward to.

However, the main character is not giving me any feeling that makes him stand out from the sea of isekai protagonists. Being mediocre is fine I guess, though if you're the kind to not like that then treat this as a warning. But if you're fine with the typical isekai protagonist template then this should another novel to add to your list.

The necromancy in the novel, based purely on what I see on the colored illustrations from the LN looks as if it's not gonna be the kinds where the protagonist is able to summon legions of bonemen to kill people with, but with a smaller group of skelly bois with personalities of their own, which can be good in its own right. Though, I probably wouldn't expect the MC to summon armies anytime soon, if not at all.

TL;DR: This has the usual isekai harem game world template with necromancy as a focus. Though I feel like that's not hard to see based on the tags, cover and synopsis. Read if you're interested in necromancer protagonist novels. <<less

(As of 7/8/19 onward my antivirus program, Bitdefender, has blocked the website for malware. As such I have been unable to read the story on the translators site. Edit: It's been several months and the antivirus is still blocking the site. I normally disapprove, but a pirate site is my only option to keep up.)

In this story MC has no status screen or appraisal skills. Combined with getting 3 classes he never played himself in the previous life MMORPG this world is based on, this leads to his... more>> knowledge of his own abilities being very fuzzy and incomplete. This actually feels realistic if someone were to be put in the same situation. The abilities of a class I had never played in a MMO would not be very clear to me. The slow start several other reviewers complain about owes a lot to this initial lost feeling most of us would have in a similar situation.

The story really picks up speed when he meets his party member who has a form of appraisal ability. After that point this story really starts to shine. <<less

It's an okay read if you're looking for a "Slow Life" kind of adventuring novel.

But in all honesty the novels doesn't have any unique traits/features that would make your reading experience more interesting or the likes. Hence making reading it quite boring in the long run

Fun while it lasted. Seemed fun as a light read, nothing award winning, good translation, BUT it seems like the translator dropped it? Their main page still exists but all the translations are gone.

There's a line from this story that pretty much sums up the entire thing.

"Grinding and leveling up to get stronger are things I find fun"

If reading about those things are something you find fun too, you'll enjoy it just fine. But don't expect anything else. Things that seem like they'd be important get brushed off entirely or put to the side for x chapters only to get lightly touched upon again then brushed off forever because the main character only cares about leveling up and apparently so does the author.... more>> Anything that doesn't directly relate to upgrading his gear or experimenting with his level ups hardly gets any attention. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so darn repetitive. Only so many times I can read about reapplying plating before my eyes start to glaze over. Even so called character development gets a light addressing before getting checked off the list and shelved. The story has an interesting concept but the execution is lackluster. <<less

If you like 'the protagonist is level 999' or 'the protagonist has this deep internal well of will' or 'the protagonist is always suffering' or that he starts with some competency/knowledge, then you may be disappointed. For example in chapter 11 he ... more>>

trips during a fight and gets dues ex machina'd out by his own abilities.

After he does something without consideration for something, it comes back to bite him. You see him asking around to see where he can find things but it has no irritatingly long dialogue. These prove that has room for improvement. The world building isn't too bad, basing itself on a game world.
Overall, he is a character that messes up. The relationship between him and the female lead is quite balanced, not some erot*c stuff, more of as friend. <<less

Pretty good so far. Has the standard cliches of Japanese isekai so it may feel too similar to some people but I've enjoyed it so far especially because I love necromancers and this is one of very few novels with a proper necromancer. But take my advice and skim/skip the first 10 or so chapters because they're slow/weak/ don't add anything and the story feels like it actually begins after that filler arc of a beginning. Open spoiler for info on plot and his abilities ... more>>

Simple plot so far of him saving a friend from truck kun then isekaied into an MMO he liked. He has 3 classes alchemist (potions/throwing skills/extracting) necromancy (minions and bone magic) and sculpting (enchanting equipment and summon a golem) and they all level up and gain new skills. Based on the cover I thought he would only have a few minions but everytime his necromancy levels up he can summon +level more skeletons (level 5 adds 5 more minions on top of the previous 4+3+2+1 for 15 of them) so he has an army of 18 right now and more coming which is awesome too. It kind of reminds me of diablo 2 which is great.
