“I curse you to never die in peace!”

Thus, Shang Ke started a never-ending cycle of constantly throwing away his miserable life.

He would always show himself as a martyr while letting others cry over his death.

It was because of a woman’s curse that Shang Ke was hit by a car and turned into a human vegetable. This led to him becoming bound by an unlucky system in which he was cursed to die. The most unfortunate part was that he never cheated on anyone’s feelings. The reason for why he was cursed by a woman was because of a guy named Qi Chen. Qi Chen was a ladies man, and he would always use Shang Ke as an excuse to break up with any woman that he was with. As a result, Shang Ke was always blamed for the breakups. Since then, the main character could only be forced to cross into different worlds. He would thus experience for himself, the hero’s “thrill”.

Don't be fooled by what's on novel updates. The novel is actually completely translated on the translator's site, it's just for some reason that isn't reflected here. I really enjoyed the novel until I read the last arc. Then the entire thing was ruined for me. I wish I could unread that world. Everything you hate about the ML is magnified 10x. Do not, I repeat, do not read the last world. Just skip straight to the end chapter.
Spoiler

ML full on r*pes MC multiple times and his only punishment is being ignored by MC. MC simply forgives him and I hate it. What's even worse is that ML never feels any guilt for his behavior until MC dies, and his behavior is justified cause "everyone in his family is like that, they have money and power so of course they can be pieces of sh*t without consequences". And his family is just as bad. They hated that MC and ML were together so they kidnapped MC and shipped him to different, obscure country, without money or even an ID of any kind cause they wanted to make sure he never came back. And they acted like they were in the right. ML did not deserve MC giving his life for him! Ugh! End rant. BTW what was the purpose of the childhood friend? He was pretty useless, his only purpose was to be a sort of not really love rival to ML.

[collapse]

The first few worlds were great but then ML started to get out of control. Everything is fun until he shows up and starts feeling things for MC again, and his solution to venting these feelings is always s*x. Never any cute and subtle touches, or flirting, or little gifts. He just takes advantage of the fact that MC never refuses him.

The story would be so much better if ML's feelings and memories didn't accumulate and instead they reset every world.

Imma throw it out there, I don't like the ML.

Story:

Good beginning and overall a very fresh take to the usual transmigration system. The misunderstandings about the MC being this tragic hero in like each world reminds me of "When the Villainess Loves" where everyone is like crying their tears out over the MC and MC is like in perfect health. The plots in each world is pretty unique to with one world where the MC is a ... more>>

and I feel like the author has gone through almost all of the possible fantasy/modern/historical worlds out there. The story does eventually get repetitive but I guess I'm staying mainly to see what world author-sama comes up with next.

Characters:

I like the MC, he's a pretty down to earth guy that was forced into a situation and is trying to make the best of it. Of course some of his personality seems a little too perfect and it's almost unreal at how good he is at acting as the character he's designed to play in every world. Oh and he does eventually get pretty OP with his the system's space skills which I like since I'm tired of seeing MC who are both shou (word for bottom in Chinese) and weak. Now ML on the other hand......I get he's like obsessed and everything, but that doesn't excuse him

basically raping the MC almost every arc

. Really turns me off from a ML like that, and I know a lot of BL novels have a similar problem with their MLs so I really can't say much. Overall, I can't condone a ML like that even if he is "soft" with the MC most times and most of his personality is ok.

TLDR: New spin on the transmigration system genre but disappointed with ML <<less

(3/3) Some of the arcs were interesting. After the MC and ML tied the knot in an arc

Spoiler

the arc about child abduction, kinda sad that the MC failed the task since the mystery behind the organization was never resolved. The MC can't reenter a world if he fails it.

[collapse]
, it went downhill from there. The ML started to act super possessive (he was possessive in the beginning, but the yandere levels get amped up) and a lot of non-dub con occurs. Some of the arcs were interesting, but for now, I stopped at the ghost helper arc. If you enjoy a possessive ML that r*pes the MC to show love, it might be for you. As some of the comments mentioned, the relationship is really toxic and there were times I just wanted to scream at the MC to get away from the ML. But I guess the author has a kink for r*pe. If you're super bored, reading this might pass some time, but it's just the ML is super sus.

So I was bored and continued reading the re-arcs and idk it felt kinda boring for me. If you want to turn off your brain for some reality TV shows then this is a great novel for you. Maybe the MC isn't my cup of tea and the ML was too sus. I got too lazy to read the ending and heard it was confusing so take my review with a grain of salt. The revenge plots weren't executed in a way that gave you the HARD boner so if you're into that then this novel might be a pass. I probably will never finish this novel, but some of the arcs were memorable. <<less

This was a whirlwind of emotions. I cried like first two arcs nonstop and couldn't stop reading this over the weekend. How this story played out was not as I expected and I can honestly say that there was numerous instances where I laughed, fangirled, got angry, cringed and even got uncomfortable in. It exceeded my expectations in the most amusing and absurbed ways. So here's my take on three points:

PLOT: Although exceeding logic at certain instances, it is actually quite practical! The arcs are very diverse and I... more>> enjoyed them. I like how a lot of things are still addressed despite what seemed to be plot holes. The only issue I have is that some arcs ended too abruptly for my liking (although maybe it felt that way because I was reading too quickly HAHA). Of course there are ethical issues as well such as the brutish acts and etc. but that made the world more realistic in my opinion. The sexy scenes were good too (///u///) Honestly though, the amount of action, horror, thriller, and drama and so on really amazed me! This covers so much genres AHAHAH Truly a novel I have yet to see. Be warned of r*pe and gore!

MC: The MC is cute and practical; careful and clever! My favourite kind that isn't cowardly and perseverse in the face of challenges and danger. He's easily lovable and is sure of what he wants. He acknowledges his limits and that even if he loves his man, he can still be a scum gong!

ML: I like the "diversity" of the ML too. I'll be honest though that my issues with this novel mainly lies with the ML HAHA. He can be overbearing and there have numerous instances where he was been forceful with the MC. Although sweet, loving, and devoted, it does not disregard how he was forced the MC to be with him. It can get uncomfortable if you are senstive about consent (especially consent in terms of sex). But he's really sad as well... like all that trauma bro... no wonder you so twisted (TT_TT)

Would I recommend? Yes, definitely! Although it has some issues, it really is by personal preferences and can be considered minor. The plot and its development overall outweighs my grievances. I personally find that I can overlook them, especially with the ML, since the lovey dovey moments are amazing and I get to eat a lot of dog food! HAHAHA I'm still not finished though so maybe I'll come back and give two more cents on the matter once I finish.

EDIT: I just finished! That ending though... it was HE <33 I'm glad but it definitely didn't turn out the way I thought it would and I feel that it could have been done differently. I also had some concerns that weren't addressed but that's fine (TT^TT). All I can say is that this scum gong has not really improved! I'm honestly disappointed but I have hope, especially with how the story ended. There could be room for more. I would re-read this but probably not the whole thing lol just some of my favourite arcs because our gong really hit my bottomline a bunch of times. <<less

The concept is fairly new and fresh, so from chapter one, it grips your attention (whether you love or hate tragedy). The numerous worlds have a pretty interesting take which really whets the appetite.

But... it is melodramatic especially towards the middle and the end. Sometimes, the world building is great but all the side-characters are lacking, and only the main pairing hold interest. That is not to say the supporting roles aren't done well, they have good backstories but are never expanded on or given three-dimensional depth. They usually end... more>> up as this or that cardboard cut admirer, jealous person, or villain. This flaw becomes even more apparent when the main pairing settles into this clingy, h**ny, always-fall-in-love-at-first (or second) -sight-with-each-other pattern. The story remains interesting but the rush that the story gave at the beginning is mostly gone.

Nevertheless, the author does a good job coming up with infuriating melodramatic great ways to see self sacrifice. <<less

I really liked this Novel. It made me cry so many times. At first our Shang Ke was having probleme because he needed to die "Heroicly". It was the most difficult part. Knowing that you will die at the end of the day. I really hated the System. But in the end it turned out well. I hope they will be happy in all lifes they reincarne...;)

I recommend it.

Nice QT novel to binge read, but easy to get tired of. There are a couple plot holes here and there, but if you're looking for something to leisurely read, this is pretty good.

As the story progresses, you'll realize when the author is getting tired of a specific narrative or world. The descriptions on what the system does and how it functions slowly loses detail and the situations the MC is put into gradually begins to feel shallow. ML is unlikable and annoying at times, especially near the end, but... more>> is decent for most of the beginning and middle.

Spoiler

The ending is open ended. Although open endings can be good, this ending failed to satisfy. The main antagonist isn't necessarily defeated in the end, more so forgotten and left behind. In my opinion, I think the author got tired of the narrative and attempted to create a somewhat happy ending for the readers.

Its a good read. ML is a bit forceful but he was abuse by the author alot, so I guess it a compensation Lol, and this is a fantasy novel so, just enjoy the ride. MC is independent, very smart, and system compensated him quite alot (because he died so tragically), I like the idea each time he upgrade his skills is learning inside the system for tens of year to master the skills, not magically appeared instantly skilled) Each arc has all the cliche setting but also some new twist so it’s still not so monotonous. It’s quite a long novel but it’s still a page turner. So can give it ago if you like these genres. Thank you <<less

4.75/5 rating.

Quite similar to QWFOD, though this one gets a lower rating due to last few arcs including the real world. Loopholes and the whole explanation why and how this system exists is still somewhat vague and confusing in the end. Also the ML gets weirder, more aggressive and becomes a sort of scum in the end without a good reason imo. Truly, without the final arc, this novel would have been so much better!

The different arcs are fast paced and enjoyable enough. MC is smart and skillfull thanks to... more>> system's help (like perfect image package) and special skills training in between the worlds. Some arcs are really good, some were just OK.

Overall, loved this story and recommend. But if you wanna try a Quick Transmigration and can't choose, I would rather go for QWFOD. <<less

I like the novel, but I actually starting out from loving it...

When I started reading this the translation wasn't completed and I was really hooked by the story that had been posted. I then followed from the last posted chapter until the last one. I still like the story but not with as much fervor as before.

The story is about quick transmigration. I love transmigration or rebirth stories but with so many novels out there with this genre it's easy to compare and feel things are too repetitive. It's easy... more>> to hit or miss.

I really love half of this novel. The premise is good, there are new things to be offered despite the genre being qt. There are some decent foreshadowing and twists. The arcs are interesting and heartfelt in its own way.

The MC is especially lovable. Although he gradually becomes more OP, at least the author creates a "learning process" which makes it quite understandable. I actually don't mind him being OP as the story progresses (I quite like this blooming flower kind of MC given a suitable background/plot).

The MLs could be scummy in some arcs but it's not that bad. The most important thing is that the MLs fall for MC and are devoted to him although the when, how, or why differ in each arc.

Since this is a QT story, some arcs can actually be a standalone novel. Even if some arcs don't hit you immediately, usually nearing the end you'll be quite attached. I especially like arc 3, arc 4 (perhaps my favorite for multiple reasons), arc 7, arc 8, and arc 13. The other arcs I also like for their own charm especially nearing the end as usually that's when everything falls into place and really hits my feeling.

But sometimes arcs can be too long and if it happens to be one of the arcs you don't really get attached to (or at least not immediately) reading that arc can feel quite painful, a test to your patience. There are probably times you wanna skip reading but you also want to finish reading properly, consume everything word by word. It's a special kind of torture where you want to know everything that happens but your limited attention span begs you to take a peek of the next arc already. In short, things can be redundant sometimes.

A problem I feel is really a pity since initially I really loved this story is that, nearing the end the author seems to rush everything. The earlier chapters are explained in details (perhaps some are too detailed which makes it a bit too long at times), but the later chapters get shortened and are less detailed which shouldn't be a problem if done correctly but I can't help but feel like the author just wants to immediately end the story because they've gotten tired already but don't really have the choice to stop halfway.

The story starts to have a certain formula :
Spoiler

misunderstanding or MC isn't favored yet-some harm or major change (plot armor) that resolves things or clears misunderstanding- ML falling deep in love and want to get it on with MC- MC die in many different ways and jump into other universe

[collapse]

Some people have their own reasons for liking or not liking the re-arcs. I actually quite like it and feel this is one of the uniqueness of this novel. But not every re-arc chapter is treated fairly. Half of the re-arc feels repetitive, a happily ever after story with not that many variations to it.

I also pity some unnecessary elements the author input in the story.
Spoiler

Like I understand (not supporting just understanding it like MC) ML's scumminess in the last world, but if it's never gonna be explored why put it in? It only makes ML hated (the negative comments do dampen my mood because I do understand the MC's point of view and how their relationship isn't exactly normal and there are too many elements that make ML a bit crooked but I also understand why some people are upset since I feel some discomfort too).

[collapse]

I love cheklov's gun principle and when it's not followed it does feel like the story is not finished satisfyingly and incomplete. There's a great fanfare of foreshadowing and a possible formidable frenemy and backstory but in the end it's never fully explored or explained. I hope there'll be some extras in the future, maybe it could make the ending smoother and the story more complete.

All in all this novel has a lot of potential to be great, just need some cleaning up in the later half to make the tone of the first 200 chapters or so to be the same with the rest. I really do love MC, I find him courageous and selfless but not s*upid. I may re-read the novel in the future for some of my favorite arcs (especially a certain arc that makes my heart ache, maybe I should write a fanfiction to give justice to the characters in that arc).

Maybe this novel isn't the best but it's also not bad or horrible. To me it still deserves 4.5 rating^^ <<less

I won't say much. This was a REALLY good read. The novel manages to stay relevant and interesting. While there are tons of cliches, somehow you'll always find the plot fresh! One of its best points is that the author was very meticulous when writing it. There are no forgotten details (literally none! I suspect the author kept a very thorough diary of details they looked at every day) and no obscurely passed off characters. Overall very satisfying to read.

I won't lie though, the ML is literally tr*sh. I thought... more>> we'd have a flashback arc to redeem him but no. Like the other reviews mentioned, the ML is very r*pey and overly domineering and his redeeming character is supposed to be... his love for the MC?... (ಠ 益ಠ) ノ彡┻━┻

The character building is saved by the MC though. He's a likeable character. Not overly righteous but pretty principled.

I think I've already said far beyond "much" as of now but this is definitely worth a read! The thoroughness of the writing and the development can even be said to be beyond Quickly Wear The Face of The Devil. Plus, its freshness level is off the charts! <<less

So this is completely translated for those who were wondering. I loved almost every arc in this novel, but I’ll add one thing. Since the MC goes to so many different worlds he doesn’t always come back as a “human” he can come back as other things.
Spoiler

For example: a dolphin, pen, mushroom, elf, Alpha, convenator, ghost, and spirit guide. If that’s not enough to tell you just how many lives this man has lived idk what is.

[collapse]

All together this book is pretty great, it had nice pacing for the first 3/4s of the book but near the end it flew off the rails and was going everywhere. One of my favorite books is Quickly Where the Face of the Devil and this is very similar! If you like QWTFOTD you will enjoy this book.

Spoiler

So there are three different BL books I know of set in a world like this, Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, Holding Onto My Man, and finally this book the main differences are

Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil

  • the MC has already been stuck in this loop of rebirth for a long time
  • The MC was already super OP from the beginning of the story
  • the MC was actually a regular human in his original world
  • The ML didn’t retain his memory

Holding Onto My Man

  • The MC didn’t start out OP and was basically powerless
  • The MC truly relied on others to survive at one point in time
  • The MC very SLOWLY gained life skills
  • The MC came back as things like dogs which couldn’t talk
  • The MC was not a normal human in his original world
  • The MC was truly an impartial being
  • The ML didn’t retain his memory

Heroic Death System

  • The MC actually gained life skills over time, yet still quickly
  • The MC didn’t always have plot armor so he died repeatedly
  • The MC actually had feelings for more things than just the ML
  • The MC came back as non-human beings often
  • The ML didn’t retain his memory

These are all good books and I just wanted to point out how similar they were because if you like one you’ll like them all, if you hate one you’ll hate them all.

Although it has some flaws but this novel is good enough to read. Each world also has its own uniqueness and the story is not too long. But that r * pe part is just too much for me. I love this novel.
(Overall it's a HE story, just so you don't get confused by my rambling below...)

It has different arcs with different settings, so basically there is something for everyone. The only thing is that the MC dies which might not be to the liking of some readers. But don't worry, most of the Arc's have "Back to that key moment" endings, which is basically going back in time to before MC died, so an alternate HE.

The variety of arcs allows you to skip the subjects you dislike, and read the ones you like, but you do have to be ready to miss some of the main story info in such a case. Even so, the overall story should still be fully understandable.

This novel made me cry, but also made me happy. I hate BE but I also like emotional and heartbreaking moments which can be quite contradicting. I was really lucky to find this story, because it can satisfy my requirements and enables me to enjoy it to the fullest.

My only regret is not having a HE alternate ending for "Let me protect you" Arc. I really liked it, and felt that it was a pity that it didn't have a "Back to that key moment" alternative.

Still, it's a wonderful 5/5 story! If you like QT and don't mind a few tears then give it a try!

I really liked the first 2 arcs. They were meaningful and had a really good pace. The general idea is fun and exciting. The rest kept getting weirder or just cringe. Especially the ML. The author must have gone lazy after the first few arcs because they repeatedly justify r*pe and coercion. It's so annoying how the MC just kept accepting it. It's not even a spoiler. I leave this as a warning. Although if you can ignore or tolerate those, then the novel isn't that bad. The rest of the chapters are on snowy site, but they are still unedited. It is up to you whether you finish the story or wait for them to be updated on novel updates. I gave it five out of five for Shang Ke and the rest of the arcs, however, I was more or less severely disappointed with the last arc. As it ended, The ML turned sort of rapist, and there was really no explanation for..... Either way, it was a really good story with a shitty ending.... more>> If you like the story and want an end that isn't shitty, on snowy's site, the "Deleted" chapter, which is chapter 275 (last chapter), has been uploaded. If you enjoyed Perfect Destiny or Strategy to Capture that Scum Gong, I guess you should give this a shot, though I must say that this story differs quite a bit because it's like both experiencing good and bad end of every arc, such refreshing.

Though I don't really get the things related to the lamp, mole, the flower and the other guy (Wu Du). Some things were left hanging like the ending (HE) and what happened to their original world (it was xianxia?). Also what happened to the other guy who brought the lamp? Everything was still a mystery to me up until this point.

Characters: First the MC, Shang ke, if you like Zhou Yun Sheng from Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, I guess you'll also like this guy a lot. But the difference was MC is very funny with his internal monologues. ML on the other hand, he was actually the same in every arc, you know that generally scummy bastard, yup just like that. My head hurts lmao

Just a disclosure, I read a lot of garbo novels & oftentimes I enjoy them as long as they meet the bare minimum of my criteria. I truly, desperately wanted to like this novel, but my god- it's bad. Now I'm not talking about the TL quality or the prose- none of that is terrible. The cons are the characters, shallow romance, & a stretched-out plot that should've concluded within 125 chapters or less. I love the premise; I had high hopes for a fun read. But... more>> after hitting the halfway point, I began to—god forbid—skim through the chapters & then go full-out arc-hopping to quickly end my misery. I've hit the last arc but I feel like my soul has run out of power & I don't know if I could endure the last couple of chapters...

The premise, as I've mentioned earlier, is fun. MC gets dragged into your typical system-plot after being cursed by his rake of a best friend (?) 's crazy, jealous ex-girlfriend. Bound to a system, he's now forced to complete missions where he is tasked/cursed to die in a heroic fashion each time in order to return back to his original world. Hear that, guys? Angst. This plot is somewhat reminiscent of Strategy to Capture that Scum Gong with less melodrama. It's angsty due to MC's inevitable deaths each arc, but I found it rather interesting that the system actually allows MC to travel back to previous worlds & have closure. It's like getting candy after having your hands slapped.

My con? The ML. If I had to sum it up in one word: overbearing. & I emphasize this adjective in the worst way possible. Very scummy, hardly romantic, & I usually cheer on my alpha males with a dominant temperament. ML in this one just scored way too many red flags & I couldn't bear to read the arcs without getting uncomfy. I have no idea why the MC likes him because I refuse to acknowledge him.

Something I found rather disappointing:

Spoiler

Ok was it just me that assumed Qi Chen would be ML? I was actually sold on this possibility since the first arc, but of course my expectations were grounded to dust. I am on board with the whole best friend was always pining for MC.

[collapse]

Arcs I found decent:

Spoiler

In other words, I was patient enough to read them thoroughly... Arcs 2, 4, 5, & 8

[collapse]

TL;DR if you decided to read it, then feel free to just hop around the arcs; it's mediocre though... don't say I didn't warn you! <<less

This is by far, hands down, my favorite system novel ever. I guarantee you'll not regret it.

The novel have such a excellent way on building up the world and bounding the characters all together. In a way, the more you read, the more you get addicted to it.

Spoiler

If you haven't read this story yet, you should definitely check, it out it will be worth your time.

Aye, now I'll go wallow in grief and great pain that this journey has officially ended. <<less
