This novel is suitable for anyone who wants to read about innocent and pure love. The relationship between the main couple is so sweet and wholesome that it makes my heart melt. Sure, the start isn't really pretty, but the aftercare is A+. and also don't be fooled by the harem tag the couple will be together in the end. (and also the protag says abt 5 times that he wasn't the type to cheat)

This novel really suits teens and pre-teens, but not for older audiences like college students... more>> or adults. it has a certain vibe of... idealistic romance, a perfect couple trying to fend off enemies and protect each other's back.

I really like the cast of characters, especially the couple, but the plot is a bit too predictable which in turn makes all the cast of characters lack 3 dimensionality.

Spoiler

in one of the chapters the protag, Yohan, although he was warned by his lover that he shouldn't drink alcohol - drinks it anyways. Oh look! a servant 'accidentally' knocks down a glass and now Yohan is left alone. Oh look! right after Yohan is left alone the villainess shows up and proposes to drink a glass together! did he listen to his lover and just say no? No! He downed the glass! And now they're in a room together, oh look! the villainess just mol*sted the protag. and right on time our girl arrived and saw this whole scene! I W0nDeR hOw ThIs HaPpeNed!? tHiS loOKs lOgIcaL!

The fact that Yohan has all the opportunity in the world to say no and didn't just piss me off so much, the scheme is right there!! The plan looks like it was made by a 5 year old and he fell for it like a dumb mutt. The happy couple solved the misunderstanding easily after that but the fact that the protagonist got fooled by such a simple and easy to understand trick (despite the fact he's smart enough to be a high-ranking MAGE -not swordsman) is deeply upsetting to me.

Frustrating. Just frustrating.

It would one thing to be frustrated by immersion, but here, I'm just ticked off by how Yohan (our MC) has apparently zero social skills or awareness. In short, he's dense as hell and keeps putting himself into more situations that could cause further misunderstandings. He supposedly has a previous life and knowledge of the game but can't, for the life of him, understand that he has practically seduced other girls besides FL. How many damn hints does there need to be before he realizes, "oh, I guess... more>> she is in love with me because I had done all of this."

FL even asks him if he did anything strange but he says no. And that is the densest response he could have given.

Spoiler

staying alone in a cave with the crown prince's fiance. Warming her up by holding hands, pulling her into his chest. Complies with her request for him to smile at her as if she were his lover and then he asks the dumb stuff like, "Are you sick?" when her face turns all red. Is he really a reincarnated adult or just a damned teenager?

[collapse]

FL said it best. He's so oblivious to his own charms. It's ridiculous how he keeps ignoring all these cues.

There are some interesting elements, but the plot seems to only move ahead by MC taking on mission after mission, attending some social gatherings in between. It feels like a grind. There's not much intrigue about the world.

EDIT

Ok, it got worse.

Spoiler

Even after he suspects the girls feelings might be beyond respect and possibly love, he still does everything as if courting/seducing her. Not a single change in his routine. Go on a casual outing? (Fine) Describe her eyes as similar to a beautiful crystal? (Are you kidding me?) Put crystal necklace on her neck, closing the gap and then saying, oh its customary for the guard to do this. (Are you serious?) Just dont do these things, sending mixed signals everywhere to worsen the situation.

"Yohan took Rudella's hand without hesitation, even interlacing their fingers as he often did with Francia."

Do I even have to explain how lacking in sense this is?

[collapse]

Last edit:

It's a harem. Yup this story that had been building up these two has decided to be a harem. Welp, this one can go into the tr*sh bin. <<less

This novel has me feeling icky... but like, not in an entirely bad way. Basically the author just did a really good job of writing two absolutely vile antagonists to the point that every time the POV switches to their perspective, I feel like I need a shower. There is a third antagonist, but while she isn't poorly written, her mindset isn't as yucky as the other two.

This novel is essentially a power couple fantasy. Don't let the "harem" tag fool you, MC and FL hook up in the very... more>> first chapter and both only have eyes for each other. The harem is just the yandere antagonists that are obsessed with the FL and MC, all of which get harshly rejected by FL and MC who want nothing to do with them.

Now, in regards to the antagonists; so far, there are 3 antagonists, 2 yandere dudes gunning for the FL, and one yandere chick aiming for MC, all three of which are fully aware that MC and FL are in a relationship and simply don't care. I'll start with the lady. Her mindset can be summed up as "MC is handsome, competent, and not easily swayed by temptation or coercion, I want to make him mine." We haven't seen a lot from her so far, but she seems like the scheming manipulative type.

The male antagonists, on the other hand, are sooo gross. Their attitude is more "I'm handsome and powerful so all women automatically love me... FL is hot so I'ma go play with her for a bit... what? She's treating me coldly? That's not supposed to happen. I'm going to make her mine because she's a woman I'm interested in, so I'm entitled to have her." The male antagonists are both spoiled, narcissistic, entitled little shits that throw a baby fit if ever they don't get everything they want, except that they're also a duke's heir and a crown prince in a medieval fantasy setting with strong personal power to boot, so their whiny spoiled baby fits have the potential to incur innocent casualties, something neither of them could care less about.

While all 3 antagonists show a desire for possession that disregards both the will of their target and the simple fact that their target is already someone else's lover, the female antagonist is just attempting to obtain someone she wants, even if that person is already in a relationship with another. Meanwhile, the male antagonists both have an entitled possessiveness towards someone that they feel should be theirs by right, even though she was never theirs to begin with. It's super yucky.

Anyway, the more hateful the antagonists, the more fun it is to watch them fall, and I will immensely enjoy watching every moment of these bastards stumbling. My only complaint is that I feel we're shown the antagonists POV a bit too frequently, and as mentioned before, every time it shifts to their perspective I get the ick. <<less

It's early romance just as the description said right at first chapter lol. Tbh for now it's more like romance than harem since the villainess and original male protagonist is just crazy people

Spoiler

the original male protagonist literally wants to kill our MC since MC and the heroine already became lover. Basically they want the heroine since she act cold to them when they usually have women just flocking to them (kinda like most romance story but still what a NTR mindset imo)

[collapse]

Don't worry about the couple (MC and heroine) since they really love each other
Spoiler

They do the deed like 3 times in 15 chapter.

Really, the entire cast is one dimensional to the point where it is boring and predictable.

Yohan, the main protagonist, is the stereotypical dense male lead that’s “kind” to the heroines in this story. What’s frustrating is his inability to do nothing more but smirk to the antagonists after he gets ambushed by them in literally every single mission he goes on. Every of his squad dies in the ambush, but he does nothing more than posture to the antagonists that he “knows it’s them”. Great, could you do something more... more>> to stop them, or are you going to keep flaunting your magic skill in every mission scene you’re in?

Not like the antagonists are any more interesting, Fedelian and Cassis are all just narcissistic psychopaths as the author tries to make them the definite opposite to Yohan. All they do is fawn over Francesca and seethe over Yohan.

And despite Francesca’s circumstances as a regressor, she hasn’t even done anything major to stop Fedelian or Cassis. The only thing she’s done so far is literally date r*pe Yohan to get him in the beginning.

Imagine if the gender roles were reversed.

Either way, she’s boring, as with all the other heroines so far besides maybe Rudella, but that’s only because Rudella had the most development so far. <<less

It's odd.

The leads don't behave how real people would. They both drunkenly slept together and just proceeds with marriage plans. No freakouts or discussions. Although the author builds upon the FL's reasoning, the MC's mindset is still odd. Taking responsibility of taking her first time is understandable, but he instantly starts thinking about plans to win her father over and protect her from her future reverse harem. He's not even in love yet.

MC is a bit too vanilla of a protagonist. Doing the right things and forgetting to be "human".... more>> The author wants you to see him as reliable and capable, but forgot to show his human side.

The novel would have been better if FL is our MC. Her point of view is much more interesting than MC's checklist mentally. <<less
