One day, Fang Ziming suddenly entered the world of mirrors. He could shuttle between all the mirrors, and could observe every corner of the world through the mirrors, but he couldn’t walk out of the world of mirrors. He was trapped in a cage-like mirror world. Until one day, Fang Ziming stepped into a room full of steam and saw Tang Yu who was taking a shower sideways towards him. Fang Ziming covered his face: “Wow, what a big bird.” As soon as he finished speaking, the mirror in the bathroom was shaken.

In the bathroom.

Tang Yu: “…” Damn, there is a pe*vert! ! !

Fang Ziming: “…” Wait, is there still time to pretend to be a ghost?

I loved it a lot 😍.

The world setting is good with lot of different elements. Never got bored till the end. MC and ML character setting is well done. There is lot of comedy kind of scene where in if one movement a serious scene is going on suddenly there will always be a character who will break the tone🤣.

I highly recommend it. Not gonna tell any spoiler since you can only enjoy it without knowing any detail. And it is also fast pace.

Lots of love ❤

The worldbuilding that we were given at the start was actually pretty solid. MC was struck by a meteorite shard which gave him the power of domain over mirrors. The mirror world is pretty much the same as the real world except uninhabited by humans and it'll change depending on where MC is currently located. Then, we were shown how every month, the mirror world will be flooded by these black, long, tall, slender man-like creatures and MC had to survive every time it happened. That was a pretty good... more>> premise, right? As long as the author didn't fumble hard, the story will be great as it is...

EXCEPT, the author DID fumble EXTREMELY hard.

They pretty much abandoned all of those and go on a route similar to their previous word (100k Volts Electrocutes You to Death) and I'm Not Shouldering This Blame, both of which I had also read. The author got too distracted when writing the conflict between all the superhumans that it became the new focus of the novel, replacing the initial mirror world setting. If it's just an arc or two, that's fine but it's not, the elements stay on till the end of the novel. All the mirror elements were turned into mere convenience for MC op-ness. There's no further development in that element of the novel even though it has SO MUCH potential. And what it did, is that it created a lot of unfilled holes in the novel, *sigh*.

Spoiler

How did the loop start? Why ML room has become room 102 even though there are other Fanny stone bearers? How did the mirror world come to be? What are the Fanny stones? And more importantly, what is up with the long shadowy thing? Literally never mentioned again. The only thing we know is that they are creatures from another realm. Also, it was mentioned that the space has crack bc of MC's newer battle result. Last time that happened, a lot of the shadows escaped. Now it's apparently not relevant anymore?? And what is this thing that made MC extremely averse to consuming another Fanny stone in the beginning? Till the end, consuming extra Fanny stones has minimal impact compared to the benefit it gives. Looks like it's just author's excuse for giving ML power at the start and so that china has another superhuman.

Like, don't get me wrong, those conflicts were quite decent to read. But the problem is, this novel is not a 500 chapters minimum Qidian novel. It was only 150-ish chapters long. A'int no space for the author to add another focus to the plotlines. If you can't stick to one focus, then you're done for. No matter how you tried hard to fix and tied it all together in the end, the final product would already be an unpalatable sad food no matter what. Tbh, the last quarter of the novel might as well be a different novel altogether. Author changes and adds a lot more things but they are cooking nothing! And it was nothing not because author did not cook, but because the food was made but left to rot in some corner by the author, AKA, they were left out and had no impact in the end.

Power upgrades were barely explained. By that I mean, we rarely got the scope of MC/ML ability after they power up. Sometimes it was said to be strong, but we see the writing make it seem like they were still restrained by their opponent. Sometimes it's the opposite. It's kinda whatever the author wants for the plot really. There's no underlying rule to restrain it. Which is ironic because MC's power is exactly that. Doesn't really hinder your reading except you're the type who can't get over (minor) plot holes easily.

Romance is okay. More focused on their comedic dynamic rather than an actual romance which I'm not complaining (bc their dynamic was one of the good parts about this novel). It was heavily censored tho. Even the kiss was lightly described, contrary to their predecessor which if I'm not remembering it wrong, has some pretty hot scenes.

Also, there are these side cps that goes nowhere and have no relevancy to the plot till the end. Why the author still decide to add it? Who knows.

All those problems aside, there are some improvements from the previous novel. The most noticeable thing would be the reduced amount of xenophobia. Idk if the author heard some feedback from the brooding masses or if they suddenly got an enlightment, but this much-much better than 100k Volts Electrocutes You to Death in terms of nationalism:

  • MC doesn't really love his nation 'too' much (though some action proves otherwise, but yknow, at least the author tried?). It was slightly mentioned that the contract he signed with his nation has a time limit. After that, I think the author hinted that he'll go world traveling instead with his husband instead of being held 'captive' in that nation till the end of his life.
  • Then there's also the fact that ML is not a pure-blood Chinese and even had jobs that requires him to live abroad for most of his life. When MC told him about his negotiation with the nation, ML was extremely uninterested. So it was quite a letdown that the author still let him to join the nation... (at least he's still idgaf about the nation tho).
  • There's no foreign superhuman who joined the PRC in the end. However, the rest of the superhumans have not joined any national forces, which means only China has dedicated superhumans so it's kinda the same in the end with CN overpowering other nations? At least the author doesn't rub it into our faces, so... *shrug*
  • The other nations were not dissed like usual (except America, which is fair in my book). Developed/underdeveloped nation was not belittled, instead, they were never mentioned which is good enough for me. The opinion throughout the book is quite neutral already. But of course there are biases like the ones that I have listed before.
Other than that, characterization is also nice. MC doesn't really have a noticeable persona, pretty much the same as most CN novel protagonists. But I can assure you he did have some tidbits of personality traits that make him quite charming and differ him from the rest of the other characters. ML is the one who has a large distinction compared to other danmei MLs/Gongs. He is just a bachelor who strives for a retirement man. I love his initial battering with him being a lazy ass and MC not standing off his untidyness. He's the shameless-teasing type lol. Other characters have varying personalities too. Nothing uncommon but it's enough.

The author has a favorite child among the side characters tho, so be aware. You'll know when you see how the author refuses to let him die lol.

Anyway, despite the above problems, the reading itself is enjoyable and entertaining. Just don't expect too much and let yourself get stuck up by the plot shift XD

The Extra:

1-9

Spoiler

MC and ML traveling to the world of 100k Volts Electrocutes You to Death.

Spoiler

MC and his new parallel world self meet. Jk, I would love for the story to be in this parallel world instead. Our MC personality like I said earlier, can be shifted left and right whether the author feels like it so that it'll be easier for them to control the plot. In contrast, MC's parallel self-personality is more defined. He's bolder, has a defined goal already, and is even more possessive to the ML that they end up as a switch couple. Usually, I'm not really into a top MC, but if they are switching that's ok. I really adore his personality rather than the one we have now (as long as I get to know the MC getting pounded, it doesn't matter if later he'll be the one who does the pounding).

I TLM until chapter 59. Apart the first chapters were MC was catapulted to the mirror universe and the fast encounter with ml, the plot développement is too too slow. The author tries to give the main characters legitimate powers gain but it's boring.
