Don't mind the low rating, because it's mostly the first 2 chapters that people are complaining about. After that, the protagonist becomes just another happy-go-lucky Japanese reincarnated into another world with some broken cheat powers (broken as in dysfunctional, not overpowered). From time to time, we're reminded of how traumatic the experience of those first few chapters were for the protagonist, so it's not like the author is advocating child r*pe and whatnot - though a bit lacking in taste, those first chapters do their job.

In terms of actual content,... more>> here's what I have to say:

  • Plot: none so far; don't expect any intense training or level-up arcs, either
  • Characters: cute interactions with lots of humour
  • Setting: Medieval Europe, fantasy, etc. Etc. Nothing special
This is definitely worth a read. Like I said, after the first 2 chapters, the story becomes much more light-hearted, and continues to have a lot of good humour. Fight scenes are well written, as well, which is not always the case for these sorts of stories. Once again, the first few chapters that everyone seems to complain about are NOT representative of the entire story - the story is actually very enjoyable and has a style that would certainly appeal to the large majority of WN/LN readers. <<less

Not to be rude but the first thing happening is the MC getting r*ped by all the city, kind of disturbing let's say. Until chapter 6, nothing special. A bit of humor but always forced, the protagonist isn't all that smart and the action is nonexistent until now.

[collapse]

So not worth reading until now but it could change.

The novel is actually pretty good. If people actually read it instead of dropping it after a couple of chapters. The large part of the negative rating is due to only a few chapter were posted up for a while. It really does get a lot better from chapter 6 on. Update as of chapter 50 I am still reading the novel and though it went almost full hentai it still has humor and story that keeps me reading. I've read a few novels that felt like nails on a chalk board and this isn't one of them. Rating wise even though I gave a 4 it is more like a 3.8 because some of the s*upidity of the MC gets cloned over to the other characters a little too much at times.

A bit about the story,
Spoiler

The MC is a natural airhead and this is from the start meaning even when the MC was male so do not think the MC suddenly has a personality change.

I know a lot will feel that the MC who was originally male showing signs of falling for a male character as a bad thing but after what happened at the beginning I think that has been perfectly vaporized and sent to the vacuum of space. Also the MC is now female and it drove me nuts when so many of these male turned female just go right into the yuri rout.

What is this cute, fluffy story? Sure, it's dark as sh*t in the earlier chapter, but it turns into diabetes-inducing story later on.

..... seriously, why don't they get married already?

What's age gap? Is it tasty?

Morality? The lavatory is on that way.

Good read on my free time, especially Yuuri's...... eccentricity is quite cute.

Please note this is light, slice of life story, so don't expect something grim like r*pe, curse, betrayal, etc.

—edit:

Spoiler

Ch36 is ridiculously... tasty.

So I've just finished this entire series so here's my review on it as well as my personal opinion so there will be SPOILERS. If you don't want to be spoiled and just want a brief summary of what I think of the series and if it's worth reading, then just read the last statement below. However, I recommend that you read everything I have to say if you truly wish to understand if this series is worth your time or not.

First and foremost, here's a brief summary of... more>> what this series is about:

Spoiler

The MC died due to a mistake caused by one of God's subordinates. In order to compensate the MC for this, God allows said MC to be reincarnated into a different world along with granting any request they might have. The MC then proceeds to (jokingly) request for things like immortality, a physique of the highest grade of beauty, high-magic capabilities, a harem, and other things. God said that he would grant his request but not all of them and thus after being reincarnated, MC was reborn as a 10-year-old Loli with white hair, Crimson eyes, and several gifts (unique skills). After being reborn, the MC noticed that most of the skills they requested did ended up being granted but little did she know that a few of said skills would turn out to be like a curse instead. Not even a day after being reincarnated, MC met an adventurer by chance and was r*ped to death immediately after. Because of two certain gifts the MC obtained, Golden Body Ratio and Sacred Treasure. The former gift caused anyone and anything who looked at the MC to loose all reasoning and enter in lustful frenzy state with the said MC as the target. The latter gift would make it so that any s*xual activities that MC partook in would greatly amplify the pleasure received. This effect also extends to MC's partner (s). With both of these so-called "gifts", as stated earlier, the MC was r*ped until the pleasure became so unbearable that both the MC and adventurer died. However, due to another Gift that the MC has, Immortal Body, upon death the MC will revive an hour later. After being revived and somewhat confused on what happened, the MC proceeds to make her way over to a town where she was once again r*ped because of afore mentioned gifts. Only this time, instead of just one person it was everyone in that town (men, women, young, and old). Unable to do anything about it, the MC was continuously r*ped for six months straight, dying multiple times every day, reviving each time, and unable to go mad due to another gift (Adaptability). Eventually everyone in said town died of exhaustion and around that time a certain person found and saved the MC from that hell. This is where the main story begins.

[collapse]

This series is about the MC and her new daily life after being reincarnated, living along side her savior, while trying to cope with the trauma she experienced due to her "gifts".

Now for my general opinion on this series:

Spoiler

Quite frankly, it was meh to be honest. When I read the first six chapters of this story, I felt so emotionally attached to the MC because of her Traumatic experiences and I wanted to know what would become of her so that was enough to get me invested into this series. After finishing the series, I'm just glad I'm finally done with it.

[collapse]

Here what I enjoyed about the series:

Spoiler

The beginning of this story. With the tragic incident the MC had to deal with after just reincarnating, the amount of potential for character growth/development was quite high. And for the first 30 chapters it was going strong (emphasis on "was"). Another enjoyment I got out of this series was the first 1/5 of the story, it's "fluffy" scenes which I enjoyed (I like fluff like Uchimusume lol). One thing also worth mentioning is that the fight/action scenes were pretty decently written (nothing too grand but not terrible either). And finally, if I had to choose which character I like the most then it would be Bahamut. Although he wasn't really a fully fleshed out character, he did have a lot of potential and something about him just made him likable. But yeah, sadly these are the only good things I have to say about this series...

[collapse]

Here are my 3 biggest gripe with the series:

Spoiler

First, a disclaimer. I've read more than 300+ series (mostly fantasy genre) and have no problem with sexual/gruesome content, cringe/generic/overused elements, or anything that most normies would be repulsed by or take offense to. I'm pretty open minded to most series and have a high tolerance.

[The Mentor]

The person that saved the MC from that hellish torment at the very beginning was supposed to be a Mentor figure to the MC. After the MC lived with her Mentor for a few years she grew close to him to the point where she could have full conversations and even make physical contact with said Mentor without having a relapse of her previous trauma (only him). At this point in the story, on the outside their relationship is still Mentor and Apprentice but on the inside it's more like father/grandfather and daughter. HOWEVER, after chapter 30, what started off as a pure familiar relationship quickly escalated to one of carnal desires... For example, after both parties make their feelings completely known to each other, the Mentor who was once level-headed and had the restraint of a saint became nothing more than a s*x crazed sadist. Literally every conversation/interaction he has with the MC always has to revolve around s*x. He even had s*x with the MC more than +10 times a day for two months straight. What really pissed me off was during one scene where he temporarily transformed his body and gave himself two penises so he could have double penetration s*x with the MC... The MC was highly against it and refused multiple times but being the sadistic scumbag that the Mentor is, he committed the act anyways. Oh yeah, did I mention that the Mentor is over 60? Supposedly he looks like he's around his 20s but the fact that a +60 year-old man is having his way with a loli is just disgusting and believe me I've read much worse than this. I can write a whole essay on why I hate this character but since this is just a review, I'm just gonna stick to the main points.

[The MC]

This is completely my personal preference but I believe that if a male person is reincarnated into a female and they retained their past life memory as a male, they should always take the Yuri route (become a lesbian). I have nothing against male on male, but if a character who was once a straight male, reincarnates into the body of a female (not reborn mind you, I mean instantly reincarnated), their preferences should stay true to their pervious self. Reading about a character who was once a straight male, near-instantly fell in love with another male just didn't sit right with me (especially given how emotionally unstable the MC was at the time). I am absolutely on board with female on female relationship though because I think that's the purest form of love (at least in fiction that is). But anyways, back on topic, my biggest gripe with the MC is her whole character in general. After being reincarnated, she goes from Traumatic r*pe victim < a timid and feeble loli that must be protected < a Badass Magi < Mentor's c*m dumpster < still Mentor's c*m dumpster with a garbage personality now... I honestly cared for this character a lot that's why I was so eager to read this series but after chapter 30 where she and the Mentor started getting intimate, my opinion of her slowly died until the end. It's also kinda irritating how after being a r*pe victim for six months, even though the Mentor is someone she truly trust and loves, logically, r*pe victims usually have no interest/intent in s*xual activities after such experiences. But not MC I guess... Actually, MC was the one to start making advances on the Mentor first and once they actually became a couple, she allowed him to do what he pleased with her body countless times. Personally, it feels like the whole Traumatic r*pe scene during the first few chapters had no significant meaning whatsoever except to be used as an excuse by the MC to not talk to or touch strangers... Sure she had some PTSD moments but nothing too severe for someone with her hellish experience.

[Bad Writing]

I'm going to be real honest here, this store has way too many plot holes, plot devices/conveniences, and just doesn't make sense at times. One example would be how the author "solved" the biggest relationship issue between the human Mentor and the immortal MC, LeTs JuSt MaKe ThE mEnToR iMmOrTaL tOo... No joke, the author literally made the Mentor immortal with the biggest ass pull I've ever read... smh

Another example would be the Gifts themselves. Why is it that some gifts can be deactivated/active but some of them can't? Makes no sense really. Either make them so they can all be toggled or have them all be permanently active. Speaking of which, another thing that bugs me is the final battle (MAJOR SPOILER). During the final battle, MC manages to trick their opponent into killing themselves with their own gift, however, due to certain plot devices said gift of the opponent was supposed to be sealed at the time yet he still killed himself with it... For those who have already read the series, don't even bring up an argument about said plot device being able to seal specific gifts because it was never mentioned that it could do that. It's a plot device that's able to seal ALL gifts. With all of his gifts being sealed, he would've had the strength of a normal person and thus wouldn't be able to kill himself instantly (END OF MAJOR SPOILER).

There's no such thing as perfect writing, all stories will have some bad writing here and there, however, this story has more than a few... This story has no real direction. It's more episodic if anything. Though, I guess that's to be expected in a story focused on slice of life.

[collapse]

My final thoughts:

Now for the big question, is this series worth your time reading? No. If you have the free time and no other series to read then go for it. However, if I'm being real honest this series is mediocre at best and isn't as great as the top comments are making it out to be. During certain scenes, I honestly thought that a h**ny highschooler was writing it. My final verdict, 2.5/5

This might be a harsh verdict to those who've managed to enjoy this series but compared to the MANY other LN/WN series I've read with similar premise/story, this one isn't all too special nor memorable. <<less

Its true that most of the negative views are from the second chapter, and I cannot understand why, it stays true to its R15 tag as it doesn't give much detail. At most its "this happened and it lasted this long." Which even I found well written for what it is.

That is how dark the story actually gets so its not bad at all, after that its just well written training and life with a teacher, and funny scenes that implement the immortality with battles and traveling. Very good story... more>> and definitely one I recommend people to read. <<less

Heart-warming story about a girl healing from her scars. The author's strong point is presenting a relatable protagonist with flaws and doesn't have the magic solution to everything. So relatable that I cried with the MC after she blew up her teacher's house in pure anguish and fear of being kicked out, even though it was obvious he wasn't going to do that. There is a s*xual undertone to this story which is handled very maturely, he doesn't go at length detailing some two-bit s*x scenes, he uses abstract language... more>> in a way that you wouldn't have realized they did it if you weren't paying attention. <<less

First two chapters are the biggest filter I have seem in a while, that said the story is really nice. Leaving aside Yuuri's trauma, seeing her slowly grow to accept reality, fall in love, have a fulfilling a relationship, get a happy family, learn how to handle her s*upidly high magic ability, is so endearing, you genuinely root for her to be happy.

This novel has earned a special place in the still healthy bits of my rotten heart.

Review based on chapter 1-5

Well, for the first 3 chapter, the theme is kind of dark. The protagonist has to go through such thing...

I feel sorry for him (or her) however it full of laugh after that.

It kind a OK for the beginning and characters are easy to remember, full of laugh and gag. But in the end of chapter 5 still have no idea where the story would develop into.

Really refreshing, a nice change from the usual type of development this story has. It has a bit of dark elements, but the writing style is of a fluffy heat warming story so it becomes funny. If you like the MC to suffer and be helpless then this is for you. Also if you are a M you would certainly like to be the MC, reversed a S would like to have the MC as pet

This is amazing. It's everything I looked for in a novel. Yes, the start is rough, to say the least. But nothing ever feels like it happened "just because". Even the first 2 chapters - this novel wouldn't be what it is without them, especially in portraying evolving relationship between certain characters.

I love this novel so much. It's mature, sweet, melancholic at parts, gets me to really relate with the protagonist 200%, the action - when it's there - is exciting, and never dull or drawn out like it is... more>> in ahem every other isekai ever, the characters are likeable, they never feel like a fodder, and the interpersonal relationships are really great.

My only regret with this novel is that I only got to discover it recently; I wish I could've discovered this much, much earlier in my life. <<less

Well, what do I say about this, it's certainly one of my top 3 Gender Bender novels ever.

After the Prologue the story gets really sugary, real fast, OMG the CUTENESS.

Don't mind the low rating; The Prologue is not irrelevant and the story for the most part revolves around that beginning.

after the first 3/4 chapter the true story begins and is a light hearted comedy/ slice of life with a enjoyable MC, so far Yuuri is one of my favourite character not just in this novel, but in the variety of novels with the reincarnation theme that I have read up to this point, she is just too cute and funny in the things she does or get involved with and in the conversation she has with the other characters.

People whine too much about the first chapter.

Look this series is a dark comedy of sorts, the MC suffers a ridiculous amount in the first chapter because of how greedy he was with his request for cheat-like abilities.

Soon afterwards you realize that the story is NOT a tragedy or some dark edgy shit, it's dark comedy with some Slice of Life elements thrown in.

Example of gory slapstick:

2/5. This one's a bit of head scratcher. First, note that I actually really, really like this story, it's just that I can't justify why, hence the low score. I suppose I've just fallen for the main character's charm ability.

My biggest problem is the brusque writing style. Things just happen and the author doesn't dwell on the events that much. You would actually have to slow down your reading speed to really process what's going on and the implications involved or you'll miss a lot of details like I feel... more>> I have. This leads to the second problem.

What's the tone of this story? I have a hard time visualizing it. The only thing that makes sense is an older style comedy, perhaps with some super deformed characters. The problem here is, after the ridiculously dark chapter two are you supposed to be laughing? I don't know how I'm supposed to react. The author is neither addressing such a tragedy seriously, but neither do I feel they are being entirely flippant about it. The MC suffers with the trauma consistently throughout the whole story, but it's neither used for many plot points nor for setting up many gags. It's just there. All the author seems to be asking from all that is to accept some personality quirks and the set up for dependency on the male lead. A bit excessive, but ok then.

On to the good. The first third of the story is the best. The main character learns how to use their ridiculous body with some hilarious failures. Plenty of silly hijinks and the relationship between male lead and main character is really amusing and cute. There's a little bit of action and a little bit of adventure. Overall, it's just really cozy. Had the entire story stayed this way, sort of like a sillier and cuter xxxHolic, I might've given it a 5/5.

However the story seems to switch genres twice after a certain point. They set out on a journey where a lot of important stuff happens despite the destination being meaningless. The main character's growth mostly happens off screen. The main character and male lead personalities seem to change and their relationship becomes sexual, which is morally dubious for a number of reasons. I don't care that much, but most do, so this story is relegated to a niche audience. It becomes a quite repetitive ecchi at this point that's only funny some of the time.

The genre changes later again at the final hour into a labyrinth delver. It's very rushed and not that interesting. The author must think so too because there's a horrendous time skip. The main antagonist isn't built up very much and the main character's motivation for opposing them isn't clear aside from a single contrived encounter. The conclusion is somewhat epic if you don't think about it too much. The title gets dropped, but unless I missed something, which is entirely possible because of the writing style, it's a f*ckup because I don't remember "Yuuri of the Destructive Eyes" actually having eyes that did anything. The sealing device eyeglasses she wears don't have to be eyeglasses. How do you f*ck up your own title drop?

In the end, this story is an unpolished gem that only some will love. I'm guessing it holds a special place in the author's heart as well as an early work since they keep making new stories in the same universe that reference it. Many of the problems I mentioned may not be readily apparent while reading it as it manages to stay engaging, so I say give it a shot if you don't mind the immorality of it, just don't be afraid to drop it. <<less
