Relatively more realistic "transported to another world" story where the heroine is not a complete Mary Sue that has a bazillion of hidden talents. It's actually quite refreshing with how she tries to go back to her old world using standard novel cliches. Some readers might dislike her bratty childishness but I find it a welcome change from the "calm and collected Mary Sues" commonly found in other novels.

The male lead is the standard overpowered dark horse with a bunch of enemies and admirers. He's average and can be found... more>> in almost all c-novels. Their interactions were cute but the author had to go and ruin it. *Heavy sigh*

One thing I really hated was how he kept on talking about the heroine's appearance (dem eyes tho). It was really shallow character development and caused me to feel as if he didn't truly love the heroine. The rape scene didn't help either. This novel would've been so much better if the author had allowed the main couple's feelings to develop more before breaking the curse because now it feels like the guy's loving the girl mainly for her appearance (it doesn't feel like love either, more like, "she's my possession").

Well, the author tried to make it romantic near the end and it works simply because Mr. I-rape-the-female-lead-cause-I-love-her looks so much better when you compare him to his brothers, the emperor and this other prince dude. Now, they were really disgusting, in the whole entitled-a***ole way. I swear there's some primitive rape-all-the-pretty-girls thing floating in the royal family water because every single royal a***ole is a royal rapist that believes they are entitled to screw any girl they want and the girls better like it.

The novel was pretty amusing for the first 50-60 chapters. It went completely downhill afterwards though, especially around chapter 90 to the end. If I had a physical copy, I might've thrown it against the wall. <<less

Not as cliched as the other time travel novels in that the MC has her own personality. Shes not the cheat-bearing, cold-assassin types we see so often. WQQ uses her modern knowledge in war making her an idea-god. I thought the first third of the novel was the best - the bits of war in the desert.

One thing I hated was how the author kept harping about how the MC looked. Initially it was that she was ugly AF. I mean, literally EVERY paragraph has the word ugly in it.... more>> "An ugly guy like you.." "Such an ugly woman".. At one point I was just sooo frustrated.

Now lets talk about the ML shall we? Typical fare - ice cold turned hot mess after he falls for the MC.

Here's the thing though. The only reason he consummated the marriage was because he didn't want her to have the freedom to be with another man. Lucky for him, she turns drop dead gorgeous. He cant seem to live without her after that. Hell, none of the royal males in the kingdom can bear to see her with her own husband after they see that face.

Anyways, I felt absolutely nothing for the ML. He was so boring and spineless. His love and determination never shone through until much, much later. Until then, all he did was get jealous and sleep with the MC. Sigh.

The emperor is another pain. Less said, the better.

She's your brother's wife for f$$$'s sake!

My favorite chapter was the last (a) well, cause it ended keke (b) it was a pretty decent wrap (c) HE. <<less

The story is funny and the girl is very cute in a way that she looks funny but cool at the same time. The guy is also patient for a prince. I mean, he would not be OA when she talks back at him and directly kill her but he would only threaten her which come out really cute.

Ok, I really wanted to like this, but I just can’t. The characters are all some combination of brain dead and bi-polar. The FL is alternately bawling her eyes out or bouncing with manic energy. The ML molests her several times and sees her naked shillouette, but cant figure out she’s a girl. Come on, ugh. None of this makes sense.

The beginning was great. Most Chinese protagnoist are more leaned towards the "mary-sue" side, which is typical. She's beautiful, kick-ass, smart, etc. I loved her bruteness and attitude towards everything. She was a really enjoyable character to read for the first half of the novel. She stood her ground and wasn't much of a crybaby.

After the first 80 chapters, everything gets sorta bland. The ML forces himself on her. I call it rape because she woke up crying and said "NO" a good 10 times. The author brushes it aside... more>> like it's normal. Considering this took place in ancient times, this sort of behavior may be normal. Nevertheless, still not likable to read. ML isn't much of a catch anyways. For the first half, he has to mention she's ugly for more than 100 times per sentence. All he cares about is losing face. This continues until she becomes beautiful.

Honestly, I wanted her ugliness to play out a bit longer to see how the duke's relationship with her would develop. I just wanted him to stop calling her ugly 500 times and be like "I accept you regardless of your flaws." He never comes to this. Plot continues. Bam! She's pretty. Then he's just like, "Hohoho, what a lucky duke I am!" And yeah, that's it. That's all he comes forth to. Completely controlling, shallow dude, and needs a grip. Makes reader question if he would ever truly accept her if her looks was still ugly. Then comes rushing some family drama and jealous bullsh*t scheming antagonists. It becomes a typical toxic royal palace drama. <<less

A so so novel that good for killing time.

I hoped for a military novel with a female lead (there are some pretty good one) but it totally opposite of that, pure comedy novel with a childish lead (the only interesting part of the story). Male lead... well, he is like thousands other chinese novel male leads already exist before him... boring, old fashioned and a good face.

At the near end of the novel, somehow the author found out that the comedy had gone too far and slowly lost it fresh,... more>> so they dumped down a buch of events and ended it...

That is all <<less

It started out as a pretty interesting and funny novel... But honestly the rape was really distasteful, spousal rape is a real occurrence and it’s not funny for the women that experience it. Not to mention all his action show only his shallow possessiveness of her not true affection, so in my opinion the general is not good enough for her nor will he ever be.

Interesting!! The MC is very childlike which is a bit understandable because she used to be a spoiled brat rich kid in the past. The ML is IDK so boring, very cliche you know. The story was a bit fastfaced and seem very unbelievable or maybe it was just the translation that makes it very cliche. But I still admire the translators of this novel though. Keep up the good work.👆

This like a reversed and R-rated version of Beauty and the Beast Story in which the FL is the beast and the 3rd duke is the beauty. This novel had so much potential, but the author's poor writing skill ruined it.

The writing style in this novel is probably one of the most unsophisticated and poorest I've read. It reminds me of one of those bad fanfic stories on fanfiction. net.

And it's not the translator's fault.

The challenges that the FL goes through and the daring solutions that she comes with had... more>> so much potential to create a thrilling story. The FL is an independent and forward thinking individual who uses her knowledge of modern science and technology to survive and prove her worth in a primitive and patriarchal society. Her charisma and bright personality is what compels the ML and all the brutish male soldiers to look past her ugly appearance and respect her.

However..... there are so many aspects of the novel that is flawed in logic and unrealistic.

  1. The author never addressed the issue of concealing the FL's gender. It seems that the author forgot that even though the FL's face was severely deformed, all other aspects of her body still retained their femininity. Her clothing is never clearly described. It just simply says that she wears "casual" and "modern" clothing. There's no description of how the clothing fits her and whether or not they were effective in hiding her feminine figure. What about her breast? Or better yet, how did she hide her period?
  2. The controversial rape scene that supposedly occurred at ch. 99. I noticed that there are disagreements amongst reviewers as to whether or not this was rape. I don't blame them because the aftermath was so laughable that I couldn't take this incident seriously. As a highly skilled martial artist who dominated all her fellow soldiers and even the deputy general, why was she so helpless that all she could do was "cry" and "struggle" against the ML? This kind of contradiction gave me the impression that the FL was simply acting helpless and secretly wanted to be dominated by the ML. What really convinced me that this wasn't rape was that the FL was still the same afterwards. Of course, the FL weakly put up a show of tearfully pointing a sword at the ML the next morning, but she gets bashful when he compliments her nakedness.
  3. The ML repeatedly expresses his disgust at the FL's ugliness, yet constantly lusts over her very appearance????? I agree with the other reviewers that this gets annoying and detracts from the FL positive traits.
  4. There are flaws with her implementation of modern technology. There was one instance when she developed her own cosmetics line and was very successful when she opened a business with it. The novel never explained how she developed the cosmetics or the struggles of starting a business in ancient time. How closely did she follow the recipe of modern cosmetics? Were the ingredients even available at that time period? How did she convince the women that her cosmetics were good? What advantages did she have over her competitors? In the end, it did not make sense for a business of selling luxury items to thrive during a time period where most common women lived in poverty. The novel never specified the social class of the women who bought the FL's cosmetic products.

It was quite fun until the 99th chapter when he rapes her because he loves her so much while she screams for him to stop. Really disgusting. What's even grosser is that the aftermath is played like it's fun and just fine because yay! She's pretty now and he really likes her! What's a little rape, eh? *Vomit*. Even though she was just raped, she decides to try to get along with him for the time being after threatening to kill him halfheartedly while naked so he can spend a... more>> few paragraphs admiring her body. What the actual ****, author? Rape is not a light and amusing romance progression. It's a disgusting act that has nothing to do with love. How dare you treat it this lightly and give it such insignificance?

We knew all along that he was going to uncurse her with his magic p****, but I gotta say, I really didn't see rape coming. I should have checked the reviews before reading, but I found it on a different site and it didn't seem rapey. Sexual yes, but not rapey. Really unfortunate waste of my time. Save yourself an evening you won't get back and don't bother. The only reason it doesn't get a one is that it was enjoyable to that point, if somewhat repetitive and wildly unrealistic, but that one chapter completely spoiled it. <<less

So I can't vote zero. Sad.

One of the worst novel I've forced myself to read through. The timeline, first of all, is ****ed. You can't tell me that all this happened within one year.

Wei QiQi, you sound like you're ten when you talk in this person. Also does she have boobs or nah? When she wears her original clothes, apparently her boobs don't make an appearance. That or people back then didn't understand basic anatomy.

Also, is she tough or is she just some whiny dumbass? No wonder her step mother... more>> wanted to get rid of her.

0/10 don't read it unless you don't want your brain anymore. <<less

At first it's really good funny female lead and your typical ML. But soon author screw up. And what the hell with your rapist being your true love curse this. I know this is not reality but a fiction but I really wanted to kick the ML. If I met a jerk like that my deepest desire is beat him to a pulp.

Okay, so you have the character, who isn't that likeable, but isn't that unlikable. She is spoiled, but she's a sixteen year old rich girl without hardships. However, I hated the last chapter with a seer, that spoiled the whole plot for me. She just told her, the main driving force of the protagonist, that she's been fighting life and limb over, isn't going to work out, which is just boring. She also tells her she's going to be attractive to men, but the protagonist reacts like "n-nani! It can't... more>> be!" like it's the most unbelievable thing in the world. Wasn't she attractive like last month before she was transmigrated? How's it that hard to believe? Point is, I hate seers. Actual walking plot spoilers. And what's a magical seer in a warzone doing telling people their love horoscope.

The war is good, the romance is trash tier. I wish it, and all mentions of it, were taken out, so that the plot had to be about something else? <<less

A short but cute transmigration story that doesn't involve all the ridiculous OP skills or absurd obtaining/meeting some powerful entity. The plot is relatively simple. A spoiled 17 year old heiress gets sent to the past, but with her meager knowledge of some science, mixed martial arts background, bully personality; she ends up as being a great general. I found her mischievous troublemaking skills amusing. The only thing that didn't fit her character was her ability to kill people in the time of war after her migration.

The male lead on... more>> the other hand was a bit different from the typical stories. He doesn't quite solve all the FL's problems. In fact, from the time they are married, he's quite passive and sort of takes all the abuse of the Emperor without fighting back. Instead, it's the FL whose often saving herself instead.

Overall, the story is simple and an easy short read. <<less

Decent novel.

MC is a 2nd generation rich tomboy that schemed by her evil stepmother with a curse n transmigrate to the past w her own body. N met the male lead asap to make the plot goes round.

ML is a pushover chauvinistic man. Have the right to the throne but give it to his dog of brother that other than always scheme him also always humiliate him and probably wanna kill him as well. Yet he still doesnt do anything or resist at all... atleast he have an... more>> ego bigger than his balls even if its just his ego as a man in front of woman that is.. (quite pathetic actually...). imho he just a doormat, not a gentleman type (especially if I remember that he fooling a 17yo teenage girl n rape her when being rejected). he disgusted me.

The plot are decent to the point of rush. MC tryin to go back to her era so she reject ML repeatedly which challenging his ego as a man n make him wanna subdue her, end up with he rape her... (a No is a No, so I count it as rape)

Overall, the romance is a mess. it looks promising at the beginning until the author decide that its too slow n make a shortcut by rape because of the total chapter quota. the comedy are so so, not really funny from the start to the end. all the characters personality including MC n ML r shallow enough to make the story bland.

decent enough to read while waiting for ur fave novels update, but not good enough to include as one of fave novel. thats all from me. <<less

Not bad for a short book. And it is twisted. Everyone in the royal family is like annoying existence.. and ML is typically an idiot till some 80+ chapters.. the emperor is like a jealous brat.. and WQQ is definitely kicking ass... with her "barbaric rude" self.. I enjoyed it but was expecting more.. the romance was a bit mundane though..

I read because of curiousity of 3 star. Why? And I found these novel is interesting. Read it if you like the Wild Princess of Pearl Huan Zhu Ge Ge.

Bye the way..... Everyone act according to their time. The General was very strict with his "footsoldier".

While Wei Qi Qi from modern time whom was throwing into ancient time must adapt fast. She must protect herself in the army full of men. She was school girl. Still virgin. A very shiny and bright school girl. She took it as an adventure.... more>> And The General tried to tame him (her) with force until he knew she was a girl and stopped being ruthless and started to caring the girl. Awwww. And The General try to his best not to molest his male footsoldier Wei Qi Qi (at times he didn't know that Qi Qi is a girl, the general thought that he himself was a broken sleeves lol. Imagine how happy he is when he found out that Qi Qi is a girl). <<less

I started this novel thinking it would be something similar to The Military Female Soldier With Unwavering Stubbornness, as they're translated by the same site so I figured there might be some similarity. But there isn't. Like what previous reviewers have stated the FL is a spoiled heiress who get transported back to ancient times. It is interesting to see how she tires to use novel cliches to get back, but her personality overall is more similar to the "ditzy"/happy-go-lucky FL you find in a lot of dramas for these types of transmigrations stories. I feel that inconsistency wise, her background/upbringing doesn't really reflect in her current personality, not to mention how she immediately jumps in on the whole war bandwagon. Hopefully, the story line will progress soon, otherwise I may just drop this novel as I personally am not a fan of FL who still act's based on modern principles without trying to confirm to the norms somewhat should have back then.
