Idiotic naming sense, idiotic plot, idiotic character development. Filled with cliche Chinese Webnovel antagonist that serve no purpose but just to add s*upid schoolyard conflict to the story. MC makes life choices that makes absolutely no effing sense. Almost certainly written by someone who has no absolutely effing idea how westerners think. Again with the cliche MC must have at least some Chinese blood, must know chinese and must be spiritually Chinese. You effing reborn, deal with it. Dude, if you love being Chinese so much... write a story about... more>> China. Why write about Hollywood? Again with Natalie Portman, what's with Chinese people obsession with that midget?

Verdict : 1 month in Uyghurs reeducation camp. <<less

an incredible story the development is beautiful teaches you beautiful things like life and how each of the people we see live it in our own way and not as other people say.

The protagonist is one of the most proud, stubborn, selfish people but you like him because you identify yourself by your seriousness if you were in the same situation. You can see the love for his family for his mom and for his brother and friends.

The only thing that I didn't like was the love relationships, I didn't... more>> like that it was a harem, it felt formed and I didn't feel comfortable that he would play with the 3. I would like him to keep one (spoiler anne hathaway) is the only bad thing I felt about the book. The most I loved. <<less

The story is likeable and I have only read 44 chapters so far. This story shows the light heartedness and a little bit realistic approach if ever you got reincarnated in life (if not for his outstanding college life everything is perfect). I like his family interactions since it is rare to see that kind of interaction in novel nowadays. It looks genuine especially his friendship with Hathaway, his Childhood friend. I am expecting more from him. This novel gives me a little bit of nostalgia. One thing for... more>> sure it is more like a slice of life with a slow anticipatory build up that makes you hype for the chapter to come. This is not like those Gary stue novel like I am in Hollywood, where everything he do is so easy. I have only read 44 chapters so far so let us see what will happen.

One of the issue with this novel is the the use of his Chinese name in internal monologue. it is a turn off. I know he is a Chinese in his previous life and a 'quarter' of Chinese in his currently life. dude I still hate it since he lives now in US and it removes the immersion built while reading the story. Don't worry though people around him still call him Evan which is his American name. If someone is willing to translate it then first thing they have to do is remove his annoying Chinese name and don't use it all. Come on you are in US, use your Chinese name when you are in China dude.

Update:

I have read up to Chapter 74. Still great but for some reason I don't know how much he is earning from what he is doing? That might come as a pet peeve only to me since this novel focus more on emotional side than those materialistic things. Evan pursue is more of a passion that Screams YOLO.

This novel so far does not indicate anything about money and investment. I don't know what to feel about that. I think I feel disappointment.

I want to know how much he is earning ! I firmly believe success and money are related to each other.... Most of the time... <<less
