But afterwards, he discovers that the perfect president is actually a fake creation of five quintuplet sisters with different personalities and abilities… Does this mean that the girl Taiga Makihara fell in love with does not exist? This MC who is barely 5 feet is going after 5 sisters at the same time with more balls then all the romance MCs combined. He's devious, confident, funny, charming and androgynous. Man's building up stamina for s*x, exercising to become strong, studying to become a doctor to provide for all 5 women and learning Arabic so he can move to a country where polygamy is allowed. Don't mess with him, he's a man on a mission. BRO THE ENDING IS SO UNEXPECTED, IN THREE DIFFERENT WAYS. WOW. Kaeko 👏🏻a... more>> girl after my own heart. <<less

Maaaaaan, I underestimated this novel.

I thought it was going to be a rom-com with a twist but it was more than that.

It kinda felt rushed especially after he set his goal but it also blends easily. Though it is rushed, necessary information was received properly.

MC is not a wuss. He kind of feels like a bastard with ulterior motives, which he is, but he's not at fault. He wouldn't have thought that his beloved one was actually five people. Cunning, Clever, Strong, Flexible, Charming, are what I can say about... more>> the MC.

the heroines seem kind of easy? But well kudos to the MC.

Translation kind of confused me with the pronouns but it kinda auto-corrected in my head so all's well

The heroines confuse as to which is which so I kinda made notes lol <<less

Eh, it's kinda whatever. Although it's true that the story is sweet, the characters are quite bland. They don't really have much original personality other than pre-determined tropes, even the heroines. The MC is the only one who has a somewhat original personality, though he's also riddled with the usual snarky MC type trope, as seen in Oregairu and such. The plot is also a bit mediocre, with the addition of it being quite rushed. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. Not to mention, the translation is quite... more>> subpar. For me personally, it's an okay short read, but the translation just makes it not worth it.

Also, before reading this, I read the reviews. As they were highly praising this to be a good true harem modern age story, I got my hopes up quite a bit. This could've been a better Gotoubun Hanayome, that's what I expected it to be, so I was quite disappointed to see the mediocrity. I'd say that the author has a nice main idea for the story, but the execution is just lackluster. The saving grace of this novel is the true harem part, AKA polygamy. Without that, I would've rated this a 1-star, to be honest. <<less

this is gold, can't believe I found a true harem (polygamy) novel in modern-day setting.
absolutely amazing. Can't wait for the next volume.
also, hoping all kind of harem novel should move into this direction.

since it'll be pointless, if in the end of the story only one heroine got chosen.

In the truest meaning of the word, harem means multiple "committed" relationship at the same time, it's not about choosing who'll be the one to be the lover in the end.

Best non-isekai harem story this year that wasn't a manga! You don't see many harem-seeking protagonist that don't live in a fantasy world (whether it's by reincarnation, transportation/summoning, or straight up naturally being born there), though that's mainly because polygamy is illegal in most modern day countries although I love that, that fact wasn't enough to stop our MC. Here I am hoping he reaches his true harem end! I'm really cheering for Taiga! (MCs name)

I feel some reviews are drawing conclusions a little too early. Maybe I'm doing the same.

Firstly, aside from the characters being quintuples, this does not seem to be a clone of a certain other quintuples story you may know. The gimmick here seems to be executed differently and I hope it stays its own story.

I have no complaints about the translation and illustrations are included.

This, so far, does not seem like the typical harem novel with a denser than a black hole beta MC and losing heroines.

Spoiler

The MC is aiming for a polygamous ending himself, and is making a, somewhat still unrealistic, plan to get there. It's still in early stages so his plan should hopefully become clearer.

He's pretty likeable and I feel like cheering for him.

[collapse]

The direction of the story is made apparent (at least it seems so) in chapter 4, so decide for yourself if it's worth the read once you get there.

It's still quite early on, but so far this definitely seems like it'll be an enjoyable read. <<less

A good harem story

I just recently finished volume 1 of this story... It was a fun read, to be honest. I love how cute all the five sisters were and I commend the balls of the MC for being a "chad" and not being a dense protagonist, while actively pursuing the harem route because even I can't choose among the sisters because they're all waifus.

I'm just quite irritated with how he treats everything like a douchebag, where he acts the situation instead of being genuine that it made me see... more>> everything that he does is fake and it's just for the sake of pursuing the harem. And how he treats the harem route like an achievement that he needs to conquer instead of doing it for genuine love, where it got to the point that he even considered moving to a country that allows polygamy and trying to study the language of that said country just so that he can have his harem, I was like "wtf" tbh. The girls also fell in love with the MC too fast, that he conquered all of them within the first volume if weren't for "that" sister to break the whole facade and his plan. Which was funny because he deserved it in a sense.

Though it's fine because it's still the first volume and it was what made the story interesting. Volume 2 is where the real spice starts and I am excited to read it if one will come out. Though I heard rumors that this story was discontinued by the author...

Overall it is an enjoyable harem story, It was a good read. <<less

At the beginning of the story, you might think it goes on a very easy way. Struggling protagonist, five easy sister (and I guarantee, this manga has no similarity to QQ apart from being quintuplets.

As the story progress, the characters unveil themselves. And to an extent, I like this MC, he's smart, calculative and a bit manipulative. He's not bland and normal esque guy who's self inserted. Every sister got her own quirk.

I do acknowledge that this rom-com novel is different, in good ways, comparing to other rom-coms, and it is itself not a rip-off version of the well-known The Quintessential Quintuplets manga series. The MC is not dense nor self-loathed (like a typical "loner" MC trope) and on the contrary, he is calculative, self-conscious, and slightly manipulative.

As mentioned in the description, the beginning premise is intriguing. The MC falls into the manure pit and is rescued by a girl. He falls in love and begins to pursue the love interest. But... more>> the fact that he quickly discovers the truth behind the 5 personalities behind the FMC is disappointing. (This is not a spoiler since it's in the description already). There could have been more build-ups that lead to the MC's discovery.

One can say that this novel's pace is extremely fast.

Spoiler

Not only that the MC discovers the truth, each of the quintuplets falls in love/grows interest with the MC is also fast, making their emotions shallow because the audience (like me) has not had the time to grasp their personalities, their backgrounds, their interactions, etc... yet. Maybe the use of quintuplets trope is too much for the author to handle

[collapse]

Spoiler

The appearance of the 6th sister stirs me up a bit when I read that chapter. It is a nice plot twist and catches me off guard. But again, things develop fast again. Within a chapter, the MC's plot to make a harem is revealed, he encounters the sixth, is confessed to by a female idol but rejects her, and proposes to the sixth

[collapse]

After all, you may find the different take at an MC who is self-conscious and actively works toward a harem enjoyable. (I may sound like a tsundere here but) I don't hate this setting and this novel in general, but I have not yet found the characters, the plot enjoyable so far, despite the potential premise. <<less

I have low expectations of this novel he's probably going to end up with the one who saved his life while the others will be cast aside at the end the harem route is always extremely unlikely in these types of novels. The way I see it this won't be interesting or unique but could be a decent novel kinda just seems like a quadruplet rip off though.

Ok now that I've read a couple of chapters I think it's about time I updated this review

World building

It's bad I'm... more>> not sure how else to describe it without going into a rant 1/5

Translation quality

Surprisingly the translators are actually going a good job translating the novel 4/5 so far

Character design

considering the fact that people are supposed to believe their lie about being the same person you would think they would look similar but no they all have very noticeable differences with how they look and act and everyone in the novel would have to have a ridiculously low IQ to believe that lie which seems to be the case so I'm giving that a 1/5

Updating stability

unknown the first translator dropped this series and another picked it up

Writing quality

It's not bad the author seems to have studied English well

plot

frankly it's nothing special it's not a master piece and it's not exactly tr*sh I set my expectations low and it underperformed I suggest using your free time to read something else

Characters

The author could have done better with this they all feel a little shallow bad a little bland

Frankly unless you having nothing better to do and are in desperate need of a change of pace for harem and romance novels I wouldn't waste my time on this I've read ahead of the current translation and I became more disappointed as I read. Don't trust Zensparrows review
