The notorious imperial court lackey and the meritorious military general were well-known for their mutual dislike, a pair of arch-enemies set in stone. WOW.

I loved the interactions between the couple and the translation was done superbly!

The politics were a bit too hefty for me but I would definitely re-read again just to see Fu Shen and Yan Xiaohan together

This is probably the best historical CN that I have read. It’s really good, the romance between the MC and the ML is really natural and adorable. The storyline is also very fleshed out, the characters are extremely realistic!!

It was very much like Sha Po Lang but much more fluffier. I guess I liked SPL story better but interactions of MC's in this novel were so cute and sweet and made me smile and awww every time I read about them. They are one of the best couples out there - supportive, caring and what is rare equal! Loved them.

The translation is good, really enjoyed it.

I reccommend this story please do read it. Its amazing the plot make you want to read some more and all wrap up nicely the author didn't leave anything unexplained, every event is written and I love that I don't have to imagine a part in the book if it happened or not, I like that. The translation? Is IMPRESSIVE you won't get confused. I finished this in 5 days (even at work I read it, hehehe)

this novel is one of my favorites! A mix of political plot and the fluff we get from the interactions of the yan-fu couple is perfect. It's definitely a recommend for anyone who needs some fluff and is looking for a good quick read!

A nice novel. For one, the synopsis/idea is interesting, and there's a pretty blend of fluff and angst. The translator rocks too — kudos — and the side-story extra was cute.

However, I do have to mention that there's often brain-shattering info-dump she about political stuff that, well, I don't really understand. Quite a bit of detail could've been removed, and the story would've made a lot of sense. Whilst the plot started a bit late, the romance seemed to smoothly rush by, thus I didn't really feel much satisfaction with... more>> it. Furthermore, I feel like the main characters' personalities were contradictory a true the start, whilst, throughout, the side characters were rather 2D. I feel like this was mostly just MC and ML were just rolling with the politics and steering it the way that was good. Plus, there wasn't much of a life-lesson: most countries are generally equal [cough] nowadays. At least, we wish for it? I dunno. Like, I wasn't really attached to either MC or ML. They felt like seperate enitities and were hard to connect. On the other hand, the good bits are GREAT, so please read this. <<less

Absolutely amazing story!! Thank you to the amazing Chichi for the translation, it takes a lot of effort to translate something of this magnitude into an understandable piece. Love the characters and I'm especially in awe of Extras 3+4 which give immense closure to the 2nd CP.

Great novel. The translator who took over did an amazing job! The translation flows naturally, there's enough footnotes for those who may lack cultural context. The plot itself isn't anything groundbreaking, however where this novel truly shines is the relationship between the MC and ML. There's no mind games, no non-con or otherwise gross behavior, which I now realize is a lot to ask out of a BL novel.

The novel has its shortcomings, especially with how the author handled Fu Shen's injury and how flat the supporting characters were and... more>> yet I still deem this a read that's worth your time solely for how well the main couple is written. They have their views and motivations, they communicate with each other clearly and they continue on having their own duties. Definitely a read I recommend! <<less

Read it!

I love this novel so much. I look forward to EVERY, SINGLE, interaction between MC and ML, from their diabetic inducing moments, to their political discussions and their flashbacks... it just hits the feels so good everytime. Even when they're not together they are still delivering 110% sweet vibes. Both the MC and ML are so smart and strong, and they compliment each other so well, like white on rice. Do yourself a favor and read this one. It's that good y'all. I HIGHLY recommend it, you're welcome.

It's a must read. I loved it so much I read up to chapter 50 but waited until the novel was completely translated to re-read it from the beginning again. It's seriously that good. I really enjoyed both MC and ML, that they had their own individually and how so amazingly sweet they are together! The love in this novel is full of sugar and fluff.

The translator did a wonderful job translating this!
