What is the most painful thing in life? What is the happiest thing in life?

The most painful thing was that after untold hardships, for that small glory at the end but was returned back to the starting point in just one night.

The happiest thing was that after returning back to the starting point, without doing anything, was able to become overpowered overnight.

Zhou Jian in just one day, experienced his life most painful and happiest thing.

The most painful thing was his painstakingly raised professional Thief game account in the online world was “lost” by the system.

The happiest thing was the reason behind his game account loss. The Thief from his game account had appeared in the real world. And become a controllable God of Thieves.

In short, this is a relaxing YY (tl: Chinese slang for light perversion) story, full of plots where playing the pig to eat the tiger.

Ok that's enough, srsly ENOUGH!

At first impression it was okay, although there is nothing new but somewhat "it's okay" but, as the story goes there is not much plot progression. I understand that typical chinese novel are prolonged, repetitive, and a large amount of useless 'filler'. THIS TIME! I've enough with racist, and being "china all mighty, other country are sucks" or "china master race!" too much patriotic doctrine! the story truly became really bad because of it. I'm not sure in the future story there will be another patriotic... more>> story or something like that, but I'm done enough, this story is trully "triggering" me so bad, makes my hand itches that I want to spam the aut-... nevermind.

If you don't mind the plotless story and full of 2D character then go ahead.

I want to rate it 1 Star but the translation did nothing wrong, so 2 Stars <<less

Terribly constructed, just a load of wank.

The warning signs are all there. Calling it a "slight perversion" story just shows how blatantly it tries to use the lowered standards fanservice inherently accrues, and structurally this is a terrible story.

It is wank to the Nth degree, worse than Perfect Lionheart or 50 shades, it's f*cking terrible.

... more>> Granted, you could be looking for a wankfest, as many Xaunhuan readers look for.

The problem is that it is still terribly constructed, so you don't really feel the payoff, the catharsis most readers want from such a genre. It is vapid, with a veneer of interesting things that instantly flakes off to just infodumps and wank.

I probably would have given it a 2 or a 3, but it manages to come off worse than Shadow Rogue, and somehow always makes me confused with an actual good "thief" story, "Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed The World" so it gets negative points just for dirtying the name by proxy. <<less

Story is only mediocre. Also overly patriotic to the point where everyone outside china might find it offensive. Most probably author’s first work so writing felt kind of amateurish. Can’t compare to his other works such as Martial World or True Martial World.

I never usually write reviews for novels but I had no choice when it came to this one.

First of all the translator definitely deserves a medal, this must be one of the hardest novels to translate with the blatant topic changes and rambling about random crap like the authors on crack so kudos to you.

So far in the story there has been practically zero plot progression. I mean seriously I'm at practically 1/5 of the novel you'd think there would be something even his game character has only leveled up... more>> 5 times in 80 chapters I mean damn..I'm not sure if the author had a bad experience with western women but according to his writing its like every woman from the west is a gold digger and a sl*t that throw themselves at people.

Now usually I can ignore these kind of things as its a Chinese novel that's written for the Chinese population so this might be their view of it but its quite hard to ignore after 80 chapters where 3/4 of a chapter is ret*rded rambling about pyramids (yes really a full half chapter), history, helicopters and other useless things that are completely irrelevant to the story (story?). Seriously this author must of been high or drunk when he wrote these chapters. He literally goes from one topic to the next that has no importance to the story (no story anyway) whatsoever.

Even the characters are incredibly dull. The main character is basically a glass canon that relies on his game character all the time which I get as its pretty much the focus of the story but when you hear about things like cultivation and medical herbs its get brushed away quite quickly like the author has no idea what he's writing about anymore and changed his mind. All female characters that the MC meets that are Asian are all beautiful, jadelike bla bla bla seriously its awkward to read this sometimes the blatant discrimination is annoying especially when its written like the author is a virg*n who only gets boners over Asian women and western p*rn stars.

So yeah this is probably the worst novel I've ever read, what makes me shocked is the author also wrote MW and TMW as at least in those novels there's a story with fillers. This novel's fillers are 100 times worse than TMW and that's saying something.

All in all I don't recommend this novel unless you are seriously bored, high or drunk. <<less

Re-reviewed as of chapter 55, same rating unless authors wise up a bit on how to build suspense.

This story was good with a lot of potential, but many people will hate the slow paced plot with nationalism/racism (it's pretty much tr*sh talking without the cursing, but rather lengthy foreign view of the economic/political status of several countries) around chapter 40. People will probably cringe and drop this novel from there, since readers are unaccustomed to the author method of creating character personalities and favors straight up action/tr*sh talking. Personal rant:
Spoiler

Only strong negative for me is the reiteration of the same idea lasting a whole/several chapter (author seems assume every readers are kids, that needs constant reminders, different ways to say the same thing, and kind of show that he is trying too hard to defend that he isn't racist but the characters are). Hope the author learns from other novels out there that are good at delivering sassy remarks that shows intelligence plus humor or just quit trying to justify himself and let his character's actions/interactions/internal dialogues form their own existence in the readers mind. Everyone has prejudice, it a form of self protection that keeps us alive longer.

Point is: Less Crap (unnecessarily lengthy self justifications), More ACTION!

The starting of the novel was kind okay.I loved the first few chapters but the plot became very messy. Anyway it had good potential, and a interesting twist on the VR genre.
Spoiler

The author introduced some kind of virus/ disease and it spoiled the novel it became very confusing

The character interactions are a bit bleh now, and there are a few ‘racist’ comments.

I loved this story!

So far, even though the MC is badass, he's not that the type of brash and hotheaded person that picks a fight everywhere. He is calm and his shyness can be cute sometimes.

Like "what an adorable virg*n boy!" or something.

... more>> And about patriotism and racism, even if it's a bit excessively stated in the novel, I think it's somehow true so there's no need to get so angry about it.

No one's insisting you to have the same belief, so if you didn't like it then stop reading instead of spending too much effort on bashing it. <<less

If I have to say one thing... I loved it. At first I was like eh? But then it got really good, showing awesome ideas... now I’m like whah! (Sorry... I have no idea what I just typed...)

Anyway it has good potential, and a interesting twist on the VR genre.

EDIT: The character interactions are a bit bleh now, and there are a few ‘racist’ comments. The author literally wasted three chapters with the MC talking with a blonde girl, about stuff that not only made no sense to the... more>> plotline, but seriously ticked off a lot of the readers. I’m hoping that was only a phase though....

Right as of chapter 40 <<less

Good read. Too much ramblings and fillers but I enjoyed them a lot. Translation is a bit bad because missing words and punctuations made my brain hurt a little but the comparison of translating all that ramblings and idioms meanings to the missing stuffs... Ahh.. What a great translator. If you expect a VMMORPG fiction with adventure or kingdom-building then sorry to disappoint you. This is about a guy getting his godly thief character out of the game and roaming the world with its overpowered abilities. Some racisms and patriotism... more>> about China included but if you think about it, these things really happen in the real world. Author is obviously siding with his own country but he also included things about other countries having a lot better things than China and how their historical beliefs can't be explained by facts so the American girl owned him in a debate. Besides these things, the plot of having his character from "Gods and Demons" really make you excited. It had many limitations and has its own plot armor but it has great potential in building the story. It makes you think on how many things he can do with it and what its limitations. There are also that template talks about protagonist's v**ginity and the he himself knew it but in my point of view he is just thinking with his responsibilities right. To conclude, I didn't get bored at all while reading this novel. I believe that the sequencing of the arc is executed well in my opinion. The amount of rambling, I just take it that it's part of the story world building. No harem bull*ht and the protagonist is not annoying when his testosterone levels is going up. He knew that he can grow more and the part of the story where the protagonist is watching the sky with a girl proved that when he said that he will pick the brightest star in the sky when he stood at the top in this world. <<less

interesting premise but crappy execution. It's not the worst Chinese VR story out there, but it's no where near the top 20, either. There are long rambling bits that confuse the reader, many pages on senseless archeological arguments, and just like almost every Chinese story I've read that's set in modern times there is a lengthy rant about the 'evil Japanese who deserve to die' and borderline 'evil Americans.' lots of racist hate spews out at one point, just like in 'i really am a superstar' and 'shura's wrath' and... more>> 'awakenings' (to name just a few).

i think would continue reading if someone else picks it up to translate, since I'm OCD about finishing things once I start them, but it's not a series that makes me want to work through machine translations. Though I am kind of curious about what happened with the blood crystal. all in all i'd say don't bother unless your really hard up for a new VR series, have read most of the others available, and you don't mind that the translator bailed 118 chapters into it. <<less
