Personally I thought the story was refreshing. As a reader I was looking for something aside from the usual op MC clichés, and I think this story does fine in that aspect. The story is kinda slow (I guess depending on your persona) and a tad darker than I thought. Also some characters aren't memorable enough so I easily forgot who they were and descriptions. The only other issue is that the ending was or at least felt kinda rushed and unsatisfactory. Overall I think it's a decent story that... more>> you should make an effort to read. <<less

Well, the first few chapters of the story start of kinda slow. As the MC dealt with going back into the past. And is mostly comedy and world building.

But it picks up after a few chapters, it becomes more about the action. Which continues to snowball all the way to the end and ends with a bang. The comedy lessens as you go on, and by the end there is little of it. As the series goes on, there is more action and dark undertones, with just a few bits... more>> of slice of life and other things.

Although there is dark undertones to the story, it doesn't go into much of the detail or get really dark.

Spoiler

There is kidnapping, organ trafficking and a zombie virus and the dark underworld, involving the mafia and other gangs. But most of it's details are skimmed over and it doesn't last very long before the case is solved..

[collapse]

There are some flaws in its world building the logic of what is happening or what the MC does. But overall if you ignore it or skim over it, it's a pretty enjoyable read.

Spoiler

For example, the MC to prove his future knowledge is real goes to find a serial killer.

And his crime skills, which he stops gaining. E.g the bomber and how he needed the bomber to complete his plan, when he could of gained the bomb skill instead

[collapse]

The ending, is pretty vague and leaves a some loose ends. Which could be seen as rushed, but to me it was just vague.

Spoiler

after the final battle they skip 10 years into the future. And skips how the whole zombie virus ended and the response of the media and how his alter ego ended.

[collapse]

The MC's personality is hard working and loyal to his family. And you see him do the things that he does for his family. That mindset doesn't change much and stays constant throughout the story.

There is a nice butterfly effect that you see as he changes the future using his knowledge and the mystery of why he was falsely accused is explored throughout the story.

Overall its a nice read, and interesting. But might not be to your taste if you want to see the MC struggle with problems and not semi-bulldoze through everything. And although there are a multitude of female characters, there is not harem or romance built up through the story. Its about a person using his future knowledge and crime skills to get what he wants.

Spoiler

although he is weak at the start, there isn't really anything that he struggles with, other than at the end against the crime skills and mirror that corrupt, but even then he gains a easyish way to beat them.

Spoiler

he gains a skill that allows him to get rid of all his skills.

[collapse]

Everything he faces is on his level, and as he works his way up and faces more powerful enemies, he himself becomes powerful enough to deal with them. At the start he uses his future knowledge to be one step ahead, but later on he uses his physics defying crime skills to one up them.

4.5 great story, everything is connected to each other. The author did a great job on the concequences of mc's actions. It's a fast paced story with a good build up, the only downside is the romance that is almost non-existence. Great ending.

Decent. Not verbose like other Korean novels like Ark or LMS, one can easily breeze through the chapters. The story is not unique: it's a return-to-the-past type of tale, with the MC framed as a mu*derer in the future. Given a second chance by a mysterious entity, he returns with a magical mirror that gives him special abilities to aid his new life. Unfortunately the way to evolve his abilities meant crossing paths with dangerous criminals... criminals that he had already known about in his previous life. Thus we get... more>> to read how the MC would scheme and outsmart the criminals that confound the police, earning himself the moniker "The God of Crime".

It bears similarities with the manga Kurosagi, which is about a bitter young swindler who specializes in turning the tables against other conmen. Other elements include the popular Korean game-show "The Genius" and the mind games from Nobuyuki Fukumoto's series (Kaiji, Akagi etc). Sprinkled here and there are some comedic moments involving women as he learns to fully utilize his powers.

It does stretches the improbable: the MC keeps getting opportunities to encounter these dangerous criminals, a list of which he had compiled from his memories. Other than this blacklist, there is very little about the initial predicament that caused this chain of events to happen in the first place.

Still, it is an interesting read. The MC himself is likable and not one of those "I suffered an injustice so I'll be cold and callous to everyone" types that seem to populate such time-travel stories, so that's a plus.
