From classmates to brother and sister, living under the same roof.

After his father’s remarriage, Asamura Yuuta ends up getting a new stepsister, coincidentally the number one beauty of the school year, Ayase Saki. Having learned important values when it comes to man-woman relationships through the previous ones of their parents, they promise each other not to be too close, not to be too opposing, and to merely keep a vague and comfortable distance.

On one hand, Saki, who has worked in solitude for the sake of her family, doesn’t know how to properly rely on others, whereas Yuta is unsure of how to really treat her. Standing on fairly equal ground, these two slowly learn the comfortable sensation of living together.

Their relationship slowly evolves from being strangers the more the days pass. Eventually, this could end up in a story about love for all we know.

Pacing is good, characters feel very real and are fleshed out nicely, and the slow burn romance is nice. I do think that from volume 4, sometimes the conversations get a bit, how do I put it - dry? Dull? Nevertheless still a decent read

Holy moly play-by-play retelling of a dull life in the perspective of a boring highschooler in his boring life.

Christ on a bike I love me my slow-burns but I'm on Vol 3 Ch 3 yet it feels like I'm still at Vol 1 Ch 1 Part 16 or something, pacing is wack, story is dull, characters are dull except the bookshop senpai, the f*cking world is dull, its a whole load of meh, I don't recommend reading it if you don't have the patience for dull storytelling.

UPDATE AS OF VOL... more>> 4.

Finally some progress in the story, there's some expansion in the world and characters, and and the next volume is this month as well, can't wait to read the volume 5, but wow 4 full volumes for any solid progress sure is a bit much. <<less

Honestly, volume 1 was pretty average, I mean volume 1 is the most important part to hook the readers, but the author failed it. The author tried to be more realistic, but instead the author ruined it.

But volume 2 was a huge leap, it got really much better, the characters got more fleshed out. More consistent, and less awkward dialogue.

Well, I pretty much enjoyed the first volume. Nothing over the top scenario, just a casual boy-meets-girl except that it's a step-siblings. It's an enjoyable read so far.

My points on this novel:

    • I like how Saki and Yuuta/MC is discussing a lot of things related to everyday society problem like the position of women in the modern day workplace, gender issues, understanding of each own business and such. It's a quality content.
    • Pretty interesting intake on top of that.
    • Again, nothing excessive happened throughout those 2 volumes. Compare this to a certain novel of the same genre, but ex-girlfriend. The other one keeps giving flag almost everytime, that it feels crowded. At least this one keeps the balance. It's just like, your daily occurrence.
Second volume, ehh not as enjoyable as the first one, still pretty fine actually.

    • Going further with the narrative, you'd see that the author often tend to give Yuuta some internal monologue about how "anime occurrence" fares with actual irl logic. What would happen realistically in the real world in comparison with common tropes used in anime.
    • As example, this one from the novel.
"Is it just my imagination, or is she acting a bit bashful? If you just looked at the scene itself, it seemed like something from a light novel or anime, but reality is not that sweet. If you mistake a reaction from someone close to you as bashful or kind, you might have misfortune or even sorrow from this one-sided misconception."

    1. The author repeated these kinds of sentence a lot that it gets a little bit annoying from time to time. That, I guess is somewhat of a cliche in itself.
    • And we found out that Saki is already developing interest in the Yuuta by the end of the first volume.
    • She is already developing fair amount of jealousy when Yuuta is talking about/with the Senpai. And her reaction is... well y'know, quite the cliche also.
    • If I'm not wrong, the Senpai is also already showing vague interest in MC.
    • I was thinking it's pretty weird to have that kind of development and possible harem this early on. I get it that many novels are doing that especially harem novels, but I'd appreciate it if the author is just developing the chemistry a little bit further for the whole romance to bloom. At this point Saki is making a big deal of it too much you know already she's falling big for the MC. I'd prefer it if the author hinted interest way later like maybe in vol 5 or 6.
But, I'll have to see what this novel is going to be if I'm going to have my final conclusion on this.

Hai~
v2 is done being translated.
Thank you, BaToolo and all Cclaw translations team, and especially Daxar for the god speed editing.
I have done a review on v1 alone and this is the update of it.

Let's kick things off with the difference from v1 to v2.
There's more romance in v2.
v1 literally contained no romance which made it kind of dry.

The writing style was pretty good and enjoyable in v1, but unfortunately the writing style dropped a little bit because of the repetition that occurred in it.
You... more>> might not understand what I mean, but you'll understand when you read it.
Now I'm not saying that it's bad, by the way.
It's one of the best psychological novels in my opinion, not like I've read a lot but, anyway.

This novel is about a MC and FMC's daily life after their parents got remarried.

Every chapter is basically a day of their life.

There's a pretty good rational thinking in it.
Every character think reasonably which is good, of course.

You don't see any of that unreasonable plot twists that happens in romantic comedy type anime, manga or light novel.

Sorry for the too short review, it's mainly because there's only 2 volumes of it and there isn't much of a plot, it's slice of life, after all.
Hope that was helpful.
I'll update this review again if I feel that there's a need to do so.
Thanks for reading, have a good day or night. <<less
