So far it's an almost painfully sugary sweet story. The main character worked incredibly hard to be able to contract a spirit, but lacked the innate talent. Despite that, he was approached by the water spirit Aqua and was finally able to realize his dream of making a contract. What follows is the main character pampering the spirit and getting carried away by its cuteness.

So far I'm trying (and failing) to like this.

It's basically a guy who's all depressed about not having a spirit and then he gets a spirit and all he wants to do is treat it like a baby/little kid/loli.

Do NOT read this if you want any kind of actual 'hunter' type novel. Instead it's like a slice of life of a pe*vert obsessed with a genderless spirit (treated as female though).

Because even though the author keeps saying the guy is number one in his class.... he doesn't seem to care about hunting... so for the first 40 chapters it's pretty much all about taking that spirit around town, to the movies, to the bathhouse, etc...

Even for a fluffy slice of life this is particularly boring. Nothing happens, just lots of MC dying over his water spirits cuteness. Its like a poor childcare novel where the child (spirit) is this perfect 2D caricature that feels incredibly contrived. Very little is explained, world building is weak, and what small events occur are so short and lacking that they feel pointless.

WARNING: IT IS SWEET ENOUGH TO MAKE PEOPLE DIABETIC!!

It is in wrong tag, it should have addition tag like slice of life or its kind. To be frank until what I read now, there's still no action. I think it is still Intro stage.

This story is slow pacing, or at least I think so. So far, until the chapter I read, it is still opening or introductions of the story. This slow pacing itself is suitable for it focus so far, which is introducing spirits and their interactions also the world buildings. Still it is very sweet interaction though.

I think many people is disappointed because they expect actions only to see fluff. I'll put my warning above to help those pityful people from jumping (trying to read) and surprises (disappointed) . <<less
