Watching the MC evolve from the broken dispirited Miss to this Genius who effectively uses her resources to protect those who are important to her is phenomenal. Even though she does not fully understand the concept of Love she likes the comfort that she feels with family members. And she is tolerant of the need for some of them to grow emotionally so that they can handle disappointments in others. This story will entertain you.

5/5 - Translation quality and update speed

3/5 - Plot/Story

4/5 - Main Character (I like that she's brutal)

... more>> 2/5- Romantic Progress

_______

3.5/5- rounded up to 4

The update speed and quality is what made me so thrilled about this novel. THEY UPDATE SO FAST! If you want a long novel with constant updates, then read this! The chapters are way short but the update speed is amazing.

The plot is Meh Meh - It will make you keep on reading but then it is full of plot holes and well, it is tolerable if you skim through some chapters. It likes to reiterate itself a lot in hopes to make the good vengeance "slap" parts more sweeter but it tends to just drag it at times.

By the chapter 400~ the chapter plot holes and well,

lack of well thought out plot that doesn't get solved by heaven bending new found power or random luck is nil.

Read this for the length and the updates and look at the bigger plot of it than the individual arcs with repetetive underdog-bullying-power up-vengeance theme with bland antagonists who are just all incompetent. <<less

It's a nice change that female MC was not assassin in her former life. I find it a nice change she was doctor instead. It starts kinda stardard, but the story develops in a different direction relatively quickly. And as of now (600+ chap) there was no one chalenging her to steal her new fiance, nor does it seem to be there ''swapped baby'' past (at least so far). Male lead is so far kinda standard (handsome wiht secret past) and surprisingly doen't overpover MC. A bunch of friends... more>> with weird abilities also makes story more interesting.

MC is loyal to her cold, ruthless character (more than other similar novels I read so far) and that's what I really like about her.

Overall, it's worth the read. Another good point is that new chaper (s) come almost every day. <<less

A pretty good story and I definitely recommend it for those looking for a ruthless-to-enemies female MC. I ended up binge reading the 614 chapters, 100 chapters a day after work.

I've read a couple of the other female-protagonist-dies-in-modern-world-to-suddenly-inhabit-just-dead-same-name-girl stories and felt they lacked something. Those I read usually involve the modern day's "top assassin" being the MC and you would expect a top assassin to be ruthless and to behave in a certain way. Unfortunately, all too often in these stories, the author seems to forget the MC's character setting... more>> and then the MC behaves out of character. Which is why I am so happy with this story. Solidly consistent character behavior for all characters is definitely appreciated. Tropes abound, but decently implemented imo. This is definitely not for everyone as brutal actions are heavily present. The translations are good quality with only minor spelling/grammar issues every few chapters. <<less

Love how the MC is a great doctor but is dense when it comes to others feeling. The family are lovable with their interactions. The male lead shows a lot of love for the MC. Some comedy to enjoy. Mostly the MC is so cunning and can be calming at times. Highly recommended if you love ruthless and intelligent MC (too bad the chapters are so short, but the the updates are fast). Especially her plans are so evil and sadistic.

If you all wanted a romance in this novel, it is not as much as the Demonic King Chases His Wife because there is a lot more action in here. I am gonna still give this a five because comparing to other action packed novel with the MC being arrogant or in this case evil, I think I understand why the Evil Emperor interested in her because she is also evil. The MC kills her enemy and before she kills them she makes them fear and humiliated. The MC's enemy... more>> also has their own character where they are really crafty that makes the MC angry at them and so do we, unlike other novel that I read that only because one problem then the MC kills the enemy (a lot of arrogant MC doing this). The MC is evil but has a hearth so she never kills anyone who didn't do anything wrong (or overly arrogant) at least she never killed the kind one. One critics is I hate when the author writes a lot of filler (even though I know this is to make the story interesting, but when you were left at cliffhanger than thats it.

I think this is the second best novel after ISSTH according to me because even though the power building is nothing new but at least it doesn't lacking in story building.

Another thing is the author is clever enough to make the plot where the MC is genius is because of her past life in a more modern life as a doctor where she always thinking logically where it applies to this reincarnation of her where everything is still not as advance as she was before. <<less

The female protagonist is kickass badass and deadly. Aside from that, the characters are not quite as engaging or endearing as I would like so it can be an unmotivating read sometimes. But definitely worth it. And interesting.

This is the true "Evil Monarch" if you read that light novel, you will realize how he pales in comparission with this girl.

It has become one of my all time favourite novels and I hope, I trully hope the author can keep the pace going without losing steam.

EDIT: After reaching up to ch916 I realized that I've been reading the same plot for every new arc. Rich spoiled brat can't take no for an answer and decides to go against MC, MC then proceeds to slap everyone that helps... more>> said spoiled brat.

The MC actually grows though, she's more willing to talk and explain her thoughts to the people she starts to consider friend, but on the other hand, the so called romance could probably be called r*pe and pe*ophile... the male lead forces himself to hug and kiss this tiny little girl that knows nothing about relationships and thinks that's all natural stuff that a brother figure would do.

In the end what started out great became just ok, I could even continue reading for all the slapping but honestly, I can't stomach forceful male leads, it feels disgusting.

This book is one of the well written transmigration novels I have ever read.

The female lead was so vicious to her enemies, it was thrilling to see her making her enemies tortured. She is so brutal to who are unkind to her loved ones. Although she looks expressionless on the outside, she actually worries about others. As a woman she is very strong, not losing to any man. Starting from the lowest point, she manages to climb to the pinnacle.

The male lead has his iconic demonic smile on his face... more>> always, which makes his character interesting. On the path where the female lead walked to get stronger step by step, the male lead was always behind her, supporting her. He is very cute when he gets jealous.

When it came to the friendship between the friend group, it was very moving seeing how they shared weal and woe, never leaving their mates behind.

The plot was not boring although as readers we could get a clear idea where it was going. There was not much suspense. There were many heart breaking scenes which made hearts crumble into dust.

All in all, this novel is recommended to read! <<less

I'd give 3 stars for story, minus 1 star for bad translation. It seem to be a copy of Otherworldly Evil Monarch, except this time MC is female. The translation is terrible. Full of grammatical errors, and using the wrong words, sometime non-existent words. My eyes has gone blind from reading this crap. I really want to like it, but the bad translation just make me puke.

In OEM, MC is male name Jun Mo Xie. In this one, MC is female named Jun Wu Xie.

Read the raw, or even the... more>> MTL if you can. It's much better than the horrible translated mess. <<less

A lot is happening, without it having a big impact on the MC. Although the chapters are short, I thought I got a long way already and would think there would be some more development in her character. But compared to all that has happend and the teeny tiny bit of growth that has happened with her, I feel that the story seems a bit flat?

Maybe it’s building op to a climax and I’m just too impatient? Im not too sure that I’ll find out.

First time going for a WN with an autistic Female Lead. Who had her soul transmigrate into the body of another world's spoiled young lady (Jun Wu Xie). Now with a new lease on life, she plans to uplift her once powerful family. Not with the quackery that is commonly practised in this world. But with her "advanced" medical knowledge and her propensity to stumble across useful companions. Unlike the average male cultivator, who spends most of his time arduously cultivating & surviving lucky chances. This girl doesn't waste her... more>> time. Mercilessly slapping some faces in as many ways one can possibly imagine. So merciless that I'd rank her up there, with the most mu*derous & psychopathic male MCs. Shame the dumb overarching plot of "find map, get strong" just has her stumbling across one formulaic situation after another. Trying to be smart with plots & schemes, against the same maniacal villains who do nothing but blackmail & monologue. It isn't helped by how needlessly immature the character interactions are, but I can't be sure how much of that is the author's fault or the fault of the translator. In the end, I enjoyed it a great deal, except those flaws that grew more pronounced towards the end, when all the build-up is made irrelevant. <<less

In the fantasy genre of any country, authors are writing a mix of the genre itself within literary rules and their own thoughts and perspectives based on personal, cultural and societal beliefs. This has to be kept in mind when reading fantasy novels; particularly this one.

The length of the novel is good for this and tied in well. There is some less mature writing at parts but also very mature; especially after the first half. By this, I mean the way the characters think, the narrative, etc.

It was a pleasure... more>> to be with the growth of the author's writing throughout. The characters are vivid and continually evolve along with the main characters.

Some comments have very large problems with more sensitive topics and how the characters are treated. A reader must remember that writers always have to choose the reality factor based not only on making points in the wrongs of a society but also remaining true to the era of the genre's setting and the realistic bias' of a certain era.

The choice is the author's and I personally liked the balance this author found with the characters in the more uncomfortable parts of the plot.

I never read the first novel but will pick it up. However, what I understand of the MC is pretty consistent with her past and how her personality became the way it did. I also got a hint there might be some autism from her past life in her personality. It's not explicit but I did get that idea.

The MC personality and her very unique way of doing things is very consistent and precious to me. The ML is not really fantastic for her imo but not bad either.

TBH, there is a character much, much later who is only brought in partially that I would have loved to see as the ML for their chemistry and his own difficult childhood and strange affliction but that is only a subjective feeling.

The fact that there are so many heated reviews to some difficult issues is proof of a good novel.

Without different strong feelings and debates in a novel, there is no real thought provoked. Obviously, this novel inspires passion and thought as being read. <<less

Dropped, because character development of main character became more and more inconsistent.

>MC forced side character to form alliance
>MC: you should trust me

>MC never gives side character any reason why he should trust him (expect MC had kinda saved side character, but later he exploited him)

>every other character: this side character is sooooooooooooo s*upid

>side character started thinking that MC thinks about everyone else as pawns (MC knows about it)
> MC isolated himself from side character (from story there's no feeling that they're are on the same side)

>every other character: this side character is sooooooooooooo s*upid

> side character started believing more hidden villain (even though MC knows it's villain, but didn't caution side character)
>every other character: this side character is sooooooooooooo s*upid
>MC: why have betrayed me? (Even though MC kinda forced decision on side character)

I very much prefer this story than the TGFNSYL... Why? Because she's not "that much" leaning on the help of the powerful Jun Wu Yao. I mean yes, he did teach her and protected her at some point, but she handled most things on her own. She's not impulsive and knows when to move. She knows when to lie low and when to attack. The side characters are all cute and adorable too! The protective grandpa, the gentle and caring uncle, and let's not forget the cute pets! Her friends... more>> too are very interesting and funny. They all adore her even if she's bad at expressing herself. The love for fluffy pets are also adorbs grrr!!!

The first chapters of this story did make me cringe at Wu Yao. I mean he just creepily hugs her whenever he wants and even though Wuxie tells him 'No' but the following chapters did make me understand it more.

Spoiler

I CRIED WHEN GRANDMASTER DIED AND WHEN MC AND ML GOT SEPARATED! I WANTED TO TEAR THAT LUO BICHI FACE! GRR!

When her friends went to fetch her in the dark regions ??? They knew she changed to cover up her pain, and they knew how much she blamed herself, but they blamed theirs more for not being with her at that time. It was very heart breaking. Rolly did a very good job there though. TOAST FOR FLUFFY ROLLY!!!!

THAT CUTE PROPOSAL AND MARRIAGE THOUGH!!!! OMG JUST THESE TWO ADORABLE DORKS OMG SO CUTE! ?

I initially came across this based on its comic adaption. But as the comic was coming out too slowly I decided to check out the novel. I'd say that so far (about half way through) that it's been actually surprisingly solid but there are a few things that really drag it down hence why I'm giving it a 2/5 instead of a 3/5.

Let's get it out of the way first? Is it repetitive? In a broad sense it is, the same general structure repeats a few times but each "cycle"... more>> is distinct enough that it doesn't feel too repetitive so I think it's a bit reductionist to just slam it for being repetitive.

It's relatively entertaining, the scheming isn't going to blow your mind but its well structured and doesn't rely on the author pulling improbable occurrences out of their arse. The writing (and the translation) are fairly solid for a Chinese webnovel. That seems like I'm damning it with faint praise but at the end of the day it isnt going to change your life but its a fun way to burn some time.

So the problems? The main one is the main male lead. The "romance" is beyond creepy and I honestly can't see how anyone can find it anything but stomach churning. The main male lead is a bloodthirsty psychopath who treats everyone other than the MC as entirely disposable (an attitude the MC condemns in others but for some reason the ML gets a pass). But much worse is that he is a centuries old and falls in deep physical love with a fourteen year old girl. He then spends the entirety of the novel using the MC's stunted emotional growth to groom her into a relationship. I don't like to scream "paedophile!" at the drop of a hat, but that's absolutely what this "romance" consists off.

Apart from that we have the sadly usual ham handed treatment of s*xual violence. To it's defence the novel keeps it largely "offscreen" and doesnt sensationalise it. But it also handles it really poorly and all the talk about chastity is beyond cringey.

There is also the similarly common sexism and h*mophobia, not to a huge extent but its grating when it comes up.

Finally as others have said the side characters are mostly so thin they'd blow away in a light breeze. There's also clearly too many of them as it feels the author regularly forgets about them and once an arc is over they might as well not exist. <<less

This is such a great novel. I love how cold, calculative and ruthless our MC here. The author's superb plot and writing made this novel exceptional, not even worth comparing with other shitty transmigration/medical novel. Too bad I'm stuck at around chapter 120. Damn webnovel, why can't they just unlock all the chapters and let us all read it freely. Damn f*ckers

It's one of the better ones. Its about a genius *rolls eyes* doctor that dies and gets transmigrated into the body of a girl in a slightly different cultivation. Its different because they need Spiritual Contracts to cultivate. She meets and frees a man from captivity, who in turn saves her.

And thus begins her slapping journey.

The MC is really bloodthirsty though, so theres alot of deaths. But its so gratifying, because she doesnt let antagonists go scot free. There are scenes when she shouldnt have killed, but overall, most of... more>> the people deserved it. The side characters arent too bad too. But although shes bloodthirsty, I like her strength, she doesnt flinch from going into battle for the people she cares about, and she places her self on the frontlines. She meets the ML early on, and he makes it apparent that he's into her pretty early, although she's abit autistic so she doesnt know yet. The ML is always smiling and shows her affection, which is rather different from the cold and tsundere norm MLs

The world building is rather lackluster though. <<less
