One cannot ask for love in a generational arranged marriage; one can only hope for harmony between the two families.

She was reborn like the withered spring flowers.

They are the same events, but it is now an entirely different life. She knows the process, but she cannot guess the outcome.

She was reborn, not just for revenge.

She was reborn, not just to give herself another chance.

She was reborn, so that she could prevent tragedy and allow many others to receive much, much more happiness.

The author is quite good in creating 3D characters, I have difficulty in remembering names since there are so many characters introduced even at the beginning.

And although I liked this story at first, I decided to drop this novel at chapter 292.

Actually I had a wait-and-see attitude with this novel, at least I decided to see until the MC's lowest point in her first life. But before I reached that point, this novel ended up to be so... Miserable and many characters are TOO vicious for no reason. I've read my fair share of CN but only this family could be way too toxic and destructive to each other.

For what? Money and reputation. There's no sincerity here, even in the main couple's relationship because the ML in this current life only started to like MC since the matter of her business mind was spread while in their first life, he didn't even give the basic marital trust to the MC who treated him as her heaven and sky.

And when I said that the family is too vicious, I meant it. This point only reminded me how materialistic and greedy the Han Chinese are... It's up to you to say that I'm a racist or realist, but it's true that their culture revolved around how much money they have and how bright their 'faces' are. I won't tell you my experience, but let's just say that it was so bad that I automatically rejected friend requests from their ethnicity in my social medias.

While I'm quite halfway through, more and more things that irritated me popped up to convince me to drop this... and I finally lost my last motivation to finish this story at this chapter.

At first the business side is interesting, but then it fizzed out because even her wealth couldn't protect MC from being treated like sh*t and it only made her more appetizing to the Lu family and the antagonists.

The story also stagnated in the small two acres land of the Lu family and the CONSTANT conflict there. The world of this story was too small for its sheer chapter length. Two-third of the story was looped around petty and frequent family conflict and I don't have the will to read the rest 184 chapters of another loop about family conflicty and possible lukewarm HE.

The neutral characters I quite liked at first also started to disappoint me one by one. The fact that grandpa Lu chose MC to be ML's wife because of her business was chilling. I can't imagine how materialistic and greedy a family was to calculate an innocent girl's potential business and thickness of her dowry to trap her in a marriage that only benefited their family.

Also, the MC is disappointing, the ML is disappointing. It's the truth that a Han Chinese man wouldn't choose to side with his wife in front of the big words of 'family unity' and 'filial piety'. I've seen one of them slap his wife in a public restaurant because she was too busy feeding their children to serve the food for the mother-in-law. Though I wish the ML was different from them, it was sadly the case here. You'd see many instances of it throughout the story, though his saving grace was that he wasn't a violent guy. And while MC was a strong and no-nonsense girl who wouldn't accept bullying, MC is still the same old CN heroine who wouldn't listen to the other side of the story and thought that only she herself is in the right.

There should be a 'romantic subplot' tag up there since the main course was family conflict. There's no romance or sugar here, look elsewhere. I think that even if the story ended in HE, they might only ended up as a couple who respected each other. MC was someone who was convinced that only her pains matter, while the ML was someone like any other patriarchal ancient men

[collapse]

My final rating is 2, 8. I can say that if you want to read this novel for the business or romance aspect, you're bound to be disappointed but if you like household drama, this is your cup of tea. <<less

I like the premise of the novel but I personally cant follow due to the naming system the TL is using. Its vietnamese, I think and it throws me off. Maybe if that is fixed it will begin to flow better in my mind. Reading a CN novel with characters with Vietnamese names makes it off somehow since my mind is evoking both cultural scenarios. The TL is doing a magnificent job with all the rest :)

C6 = The beginning is interesting. The MC doesn't seem to be the ever cliché NU novels usually have. Need to check this. Translation is quiet good too. I just had trouble remembering all the names.

I actually finished this novel via a MTL site. It so deserves being picked up for a complete translation - the complex family relationships and business deals need more information to be completely understood.

Heroine Lin Jinrong is reborn after a short, sad life in ancient China. Determined to live well this time, she makes small changes in her own life and those of her family members. Some things change and she begins to understand the forces at play behind her previous life.

It’s not a revenge novel but it is a... more>> novel where bad people mostly get what is coming for them. What is really interesting are the many business deals conducted by the Heroine as well as the family relationships. Romance is a slow burn and could actually go several ways until about halfway through. Pretty truthful skinship, albeit using poetry!

This is the kind of novel you read while you are walking to meals and in every spare minute. <<less
