The synopsis is a little misleading (see the "glimpse of story" header in my review here or read the story's prologue). NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO HATE r*pe, DRAMA in*est AND TRAGEDY (not with main chara) so I put a reminder here and leave if this is not ur cup of tea. This is a Great read because the results of each other demise's is the consequence of several people's action (interconnected) and you can't blame everyone's action because they're just responding to present scenario!! I like how the story... more>> develops that make me slightly forgives the ML and the transition hoe he fell in love on MC. As a reader and in MC's POV, I honestly hate ML's tortures to MC but the latter part of the story is good that made me forget some of his past actions.

But This is honestly heavy, aside from ML's psychological & phyical (r@pe only) torture to MC, It is mainly due to someone's death (manner of death) and the some BE of side chara's. I honestly feel bad!! I need fluff to heal my heart.. MAJOR SPOILERS I suggest not to see the spoilers for those who plan to read the novel.

the MC's brother was gang r*ped and killed due to the order of their aunt. I f*ck!ng hate that aunt!!!! I want her to die slowly!!! That money she used for that insidious killing was supposedly the money for the treatment of MC's brother but used it to kill him. Their aunt accidentally seen his son ye yan having s*x with the the mentally illed brother (MC's brother). In the first place, it is ye yan who does pe*verted things to MC's brother but the blames fell on that child. But Ye yan's feelings are true and didn't know that her mother will kill her nephew. (still I hate him having s*x and taking advantage of a mentally challenged person). It is everyone to blame in the tragedy. If the MC isn't too soft hearted in his aunt or even ask his brother when he heard the phone call to ye yan. The ML who r*ped the MC in front of his brother and got curious so told the story to ye yan. Also if the ML didn't imprison the MC and didn't rob the MC's opportunities and didn't r*pe MC, the MC could focus in his brother and not let his brother lives most of the time with the cousin. But I can't blame the ML due to his hate. And especially ye yan, because since the MC's brother is with him, it is his MAJOR responsibility!!!

Side chara ending:
The ex gf is with her bastard husband who always beats her and died, but she manages to escape before that (climax of story). The MC's friend he met in prison (framed to kill his gf by the killer and the reason why he is in prison and met the MC) is abducted by the killer who is in love with him. And I don't know what happened anymore...

The main villain is the husband of MC's ex gf. I f*ck!ng hate this one too!! But I greatly hate the aunt and I don't like the aunt's ending, too swift 😅

Glimpse of story, can be found in the first few chapters: The MC accidentally killed the pregnant wife of ML, when avoiding a truck. The MC's fault was NOT going out of the car to check if he really did hit someone, he listened to his gf who saw it that it was nothing (she admitted her fault at the end. I forgot if she said it was a garbage in the beginning?), the life of victims can be saved if they're immediately sent to hospital (this greatly burdens MC's conscience). He was then imprisoned in jail for 7yrs and after that was tormented by ML (eventhough the ML eventually and fully known that he came to like the MC after several r@pe). The ML couldn't show his affection so he kept tormenting the MC instead esp when the ML was jealous. What I hate is because the ML didn't love much the ex wife, he was living well before with that ex wife and cared for her because she was there whenever the ML was at the bottom (as mentioned in ch92). He loves his ex wife a little I guess based on tidbits convo with his secretary and his reactions on her death.

Never, even once that the ML actually helped MC in the first 100ch. If you have read everything you will notice that MC's life is greatly ruined by ML because of hate (from small things, to dreams, to hopes, jobs, memories, mentally, physically, and family). The ML keeps tormenting sexually (no kinks, just plain r@pe) and mentally the MC. I really wished that the MC died so he can be relieved from the obsessive ML (the ML seems psychotic throughout due to his obsessive personality but he is just arrogant and Impulsive). I thought that this is tragic but in the latter part, there is more heart wrenching story that made me want to curse!!! (see first spoiler above at ur own risk)

there should be an in*est tag also here and I honestly feel bad about it because the other person is mentally challenged (MC's brother) . I feel that he is taken advantaged of due to his naivety

the ML forgave MC after his 2nd su*cide (induced to die by wen, MLs current fiance). I'm greatly relieved also in these chapters but what awaited me was reading a f*ck!ng ending of his brother 😡 I honestly like the MC's brother and I hate his ending and hate the ending of his aunt. She should be skinned alive or suffer in jail

There are lots of scenerios where the ML could have helped the MC but failed to do

when the false news about the MC kept spreading the ML didn't even go to the fake person who impersonated the MC to know the truth. Though he was looking for who did it, I felt that he was incompetent and not giving much attention to it.

After making the MC gave the ML an irrumat!o, the ML didn't keep his promise to MC to help the parents of ML's ex wife. The MC pleaded to ML to help financially the parent's ex wife (MC's victim).

The ML didn't even fulfill any his any promise to MC in the first 100 so he shouldn't expect that the MC will really believes that the ML loves him

Also, The ML's parent is your typical Chinese parent but not insidious, although they're against with the ML+MC relationship, the father didn't confront the MC nor do anything harmful for MC.

You’ve probably seen me complain about this but one things thats incredibly annoying is how the translators just made it pay to read after chapter 29 I mean cmon man why upload this here if ur gonna make it pay to read I understand translators have to make money but I dont get why if its not their work unless they got permission from the author then in that case it’d be fine I guess but my point here is it was reallly frickin annoying to spend all my time... more>> invested and then boom be hit with a pay to read idk just a very bumming experience :/ <<less

4.5/10 for me.

First of all, this story is not for those of faint heart. (The tragedies, even if it's not between the Main CP, will shred your heart)

The MC, like other commenters' said, is a Mary Sue (meyn, idk I want to wack his head and scream his ears out, like wake up bro! Come on!) But nothing can be done. He's imperfect but that's what human is (minus the Mary Sue Tendency ofc)

The ML is, well, Ur typical egoistic boss of some company (a restaurant in this... more>> case) which was fawn by many (I swear those girls are blind) He had his moment where we'll be able to curse him out and then there'll also be those moments in which we'll be like, "ahh.. he's changing..." (The author really gives him a redemption au, n I think it suits him well)

And about the sides character... Sigh... Idk what to say bout this, the tragedies... (Well, it's a spoiler but if u want to know u can read user ylial's review n spoil yourselves)

As for the villains. Yes, villains. You can guess the first villain from the very first few chapters and goddamnit the ending of this villain is too swift like, I belike "that's it?" They don't suffer much?! Come on!

Anyway, for the second, and the so called mysterious villain (not for me tho, coz I actually had a hunch from the very beginning about this one. like, who's the only one always mentioned but never once had shown up), although it happens coz of misunderstanding, they're still to be blamed. Yeah, you guys can curse them out. They deserves it. I believe they regretted it deeply in the end but alas, late is late.

And about the plot, well, idk, it's quite engaging but yeah, to me it's quite borish (maybe it's bcs I've read too many kind of novel of the same genre? Idk) But yeah, got to give points for the author bcs the setting of this plot is quite different from other novels that I've read.

Overall, this novel is good, it has its own up and down but it's a good read nonetheless. Give it try guys.

P/s: I MTL the whole novel coz I'm impatient, but it's still understandable except for the slight incomplete translation + grammars probs. <<less

This novel really left me seething. I give it 4 stars just because it kept me awake all night finishing it so credit where credit is due I guess. But my god MC made me so angry I wanted to enter the novel and strangle him. I thought I’d met enough Mary Sues in this site but MC really puts them all to shame.

it’s true he killed a person, but he already got sentenced to jail, what else is he supposed to do? What’s the point of jail if people... more>> aren’t given a second chance? ML refused to forgive for obscure reasons and MC kept groveling and begging for mercy, I was left so mad at the end of each chapter.

2nd thing I didn’t like is ML. His intelligence is below zero. Blindly believing in every smearing of MC and getting angry like a bull each time. F*ck him. Gahhhh I’m so mad how the author insisted on making MC suffer. Not once did she give him a break. All the good characters suffered misery and even though the villains got their retribution, but at what cost?? I got no satisfaction from it. This is a book full of misery so read it at your own discretion. <<less

I will be giving three stars for making me cry from chapter 1 to the end. All the tragedies weren't necessary. The author had it in for the characters honestly. Annoying tragic, so tragic no amount of happy ending can soothe it. At least it's the first time I don't wish for an abusive character to just end it all. He deserved being alive.

Chaleuria picks one more pyschological!! I got myself so invested in "Deep in the Act" that I ended buying the rest of the chapters. First time ever. Hope this story line is deep!! Can't wait.

This was so messed up in so many ways. Plot twist after plot twist. It was craaazy lol, but the story did have me hooked despite how messed up it was. Honestly, I feel like the many many many deaths didn’t have to happen, but author must really love to torture the MC in so many ways.

The ML is a rapist and Psychopath, I’m 💯 convinced he is responsible for MC’s brothers death. And hate MC for being so miserable, like seriously man don’t be so forgiving, I hate idiots in real life and here’s an idiot in a story. I felt so bad for MC’s brother. He didn’t deserve any of this. I don’t no why I read this story but ok if you like angst and are forgiving towards rapist, than this is the ideal story for you

Well. I don't even know what to say.I only feel mad after reading this. I hate all characters except Meng Yi (MC's brother).

ML is really a psycho and a**hole. Although it is unrealistic to rap someone who kill your wife, we'll neglect that fact.I can't feel he love MC at all. All he do is torture all the way for his possessiveness.... more>>
