Yu Sui and Shi Luo met each other when they were much younger. One was a pro-gamer, a widely-renowned, best of the best, in-game medic. The other was an e-sports newcomer who was just starting out. The two originally played for the same team, during which their relationship became increasingly deep.

But things did not go as expected. Yu Sui went to Europe and Shi Luo changed his in-game job to become a striker. The two belonged to different teams and different divisions, with oceans between them, each doing wonderfully …

They had become two tigers on separate mountains. The last thing anyone expected was for Yu Sui to return to the domestic league two years later. There was no way to avoid it and the two met once again.

My favorite esports bl novel. This is just *chef kiss* shit!

I like how they slow things and train more hard. It's like more realistic! They care for each other. The know their limits. They love the game.

Okay, at the first, I was so scared to read the novel because of the beginning chapters. It let me cryyy!!! Then LET ME CRY MOREEEE TO THE FLASHBACKSSSS!!! shittttttt

... more>> JY scumbag pls fuk u—

Saint Sword or Scumbag I dont remember ur name dunno pls let me punch u—

The character growth tho~ how Shi Lou keeps controlling his emotions for two years— listening and keep remembering Yui Sui's voice. And how touched Yui Sui about it. I just love them. I wanna hug them. They suffered but still they got together.

Please... This novel, share this, it's so remarkable! <<less

Absolutely phenomenal read.. After burning through several excellent e-sports BL, this is the one that I can say with complete certainty that I enjoyed this one the most. Before I found this series, I really enjoyed all of Jiang Zi Bei's novels and the closest comparison to this would be I Can Do It. Both series place the main characters in high ranking teams which battle it out and overcome hardships on an international scale.

The thing that impresses me most about the two stories is that while we have the... more>> very obvious main pair who are excellent and OP and always improving, it's so wonderful to have well fleshed out supporting characters. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the bond between MC and his team mates grow and their personalities interact. It felt so much more real than stories which are focused only on the personalities and interactions between the two main leads. I also really appreciated the supportiveness of the club manager and how connected he was with the team throughout the entire series. It's strange to bring up such a minor character but it just speaks for how well written each single side character is. Towards the end I even grew fond of characters from side teams because of their interactions with our main team.

Even as someone who doesn't play any competitive PVP/shooter games, the game was really well explained and designed so I could understand why it could be played competitively on such a large scale. I do admit that at some parts of the novel when they were going in depth about strategies/etc I did zone out and skip because I was impatient for more character development/interactions. I don't think I really missed out much because that genre of game never interested me but if anyone is into PUBG/shooter games then I think they would find the explanations very interesting.

The romance in this goes from bittersweet to almost unbearably but addictively sweet.

Spoiler

It's fairly obvious from the start that neither of them really hated each other but it was more a miscommunication/poor timing that forced them both apart. The angst was a slow burn in the first half of the novel and their obvious longing to be by each other's side was really bittersweet to read. After they do reconcile and confess their feelings, the sweetness explodes. It's just so unbearably sweet that as a reader, I think the author should really consider the single people who are reading this novel because I was so so envious. I don't know who I was more envious of, Shi Luo who had the sweetest, most doting, most devoted boyfriend who spoils him rotten? Or Yu Sui who has the cutest little tsundere baby who is also incredibly devoted and loves him to the moon and back.

Honestly the second half of the novel was just them rubbing it in our face how much we're missing out by being single but I loved every second of it.

[collapse]

My only complaint about this novel is that we deserved at least 10 more extra chapters at the end. Or a sequel. Or just 100 more chapters.

Highly recommend this! <<less

It's a great novel, you just have to stick with it until later. Although the ending is abrupt (it continues on in the extras, I'm talking about the extra ending as well) I felt like I've lived 3 years with them as I read this novel. It has to do with the pacing I think, we get to see each details of their lives and live with them from day to day in such details. I really enjoy how hard it went when it comes to immersing the readers with... more>> every day of an esports players activity. You get the full scope whether it's practise rounds, broadcasting, each matches and how you climb up the league's etc.

I wasn't completely on board at first to be honest, if there's one thing that drives me a little insane is that the plot seems to be rushed into the first 30-40 chapters, way too much flashbacks to the past, and a huge part of it is just infodumping on you at the beginning. It doesn't get any better until they resolve the thing with their past. And then you never hear from the antagonist again. LMAO it's just a little funny, after that everything becomes more loose in terms of plot, focusing on the romance and climbing the league, abit of an 'oh yeah the series can't end because heres another antagonistt that looms in the distance and acts like a one dimensional total garbage dump so you can easily just hate on them'

That's why I was confused about why other reviews only mention a few antagonists and not like, the whole story. For me personally I think the beginning is way too emotional, while it makes sense rationally it also doesn't make sense? But if you bite through it and continue on, you'll get the good good binge of esports daily life and all that good stuff.

Anyways this novel also doesn't shy away from flirting and r rated dialogue, so it's very nice to just indulge in those from the story. <<less

One of my favorite gaming novels. Aside from the ambitions MC and ML have towards the game, the plot outside the game is also strong. There's a mix of angsty and fluffy parts at the beginning before it gets fluffier later but the story comes around in a full circle. MC and ML's relationship dynamics are also really well written. It's definitely worth checking out.

This is a very sweet story. Both the MC and the ML are very strong characters. This is one of the first web novels that I've actually finished, and I was sad to see the story end. The world was also very unique. I haven't read a lot of books about e-sports, but I feel this is a good entry level story to start on. There isn't a lot of highly technical, drawn out game speak. Everything was very easy to follow, and I appreciate that.

The only drawbacks are that... more>> the s*x scenes are fade to black, and they're just aren't a lot of them. Also there's a lot of jumping back and forth with timelines for the first quarter of the novel, and I did find myself getting lost at times as to whether I was in the present or the past.

This isn't a very dramatic novel, but like I said it's beginning it is a sweet one. Nothing too dark happens to either of the main characters, and no one really suffers a lot in this book. There is of course some drama, that leads to more drama, but really by the middle of the book most of that is cleared up.

I would recommend this if you like your shameless ML and tsundere MC, with a minimum of some of the more problematic BL tropes. <<less

This is a good read and worth the time. The past of both ML and MC is quite heartbreaking but not too angsty. Moreover, this story ain't focus on the game despite being an e-Sports novel. Almost all of the matches isn't explained, but to be honest that's a plus for me.

Unlike in other MOBA games, shooting games doesn't actually need a lot of explanation. Shooting games like this one often based on skills and tactics only to be able to win, while LoL or similar games to LoL is... more>> also based on the heroes and combinations chosen in the match. What I mean is while LoL or DOTA MOBA games needs a lot of explanation to be able to picture out the match, shooting MOBA games like PUBG and this one doesn't need any, and explaining the key points of the tactics and the strength of the players is enough to predict the outcome of the game.

Others might not agree with me but the author not explaining most of the matches both avoids the repetition and keeps the readers hooked in the story. Every chapter, there's something new going on. It's light, short, and it's mostly focused on them (MC, ML, and their team) overcoming their past and starting new. Also, the relationship of MC and ML is sooo cute especially when the ML calls the MC baobei. I'm melting...

About the ML and MC, their personality is actually consistent. Others might not like the ML or the MC at first but there are reasons why they turned out to be the way they are.

Spoiler

MC is a chuunibyou who sometimes doubts promises bcs of his past. The ML is a slag man who doted on MC every chance he gets. Tbh, I didn't dislike the ML for his actions despite the revelation of the MC's past. Why? On the first chapters, it actually looks like the ML isn't the type of person who will leave the MC just for the sake of money. Maybe in some parts I was hesitant for the ML, but after everything was revealed, I start to understand his actions for leaving the MC back in the domestic region.

He doesn't have the power to even stop his two teammates from being sold once they were in Europe, what's more for the MC who haven't developed his skills that much yet. And the MC understands all that too. Also, when they got together, the ML constantly makes up what he believes is his mistakes to MC. In short, the MC was spoiled by the ML lmao. They're so cute and they both understands and respect each other so much.

Just a heads up, this story is being adapted to manhua so you might want to check that out also. <<less

Totally 110% Recommended!!!!

This novel has such a perfect blend of angst and Fluff. And the fluff is done oh!so perfectly. I wasn't bored for a second (which is a problem I have with too much fluff)

It is a feel good novel with one of the most amazing pairs out there. Yu Sui and Shi Luo are individually two great characters and when they come together, magic happens. The side characters are a hoot and make everything even better.

Just Read it! You won't regret it

A must read if you like BL E-sports!! Please read to at least chapter 40 onwards to give ML a chance to explain what he did back then! It was perhaps the most angsty part of the entire novel but I appreciate what he had to do for his teammates and friends. MC, ML and their new teammates are so good to each other!

I really, really love this pairing! I was a little put off by MC's behavior at first (like- oh my god, what are you doing??) and I actually grew to love it. The previous books I read, MC was always kind, flawless, the white lotus type. Shi Luo was extremely refreshing for me. I like how he honest he was with ML about his "schemes." And I loved how ML was like "yeah, I know, I don't really mind." Also, I really like it when both the MC and ML... more>> are extremely badass.

Most of the angst was in the beginning, and in the later chapters the conflict didn't really come from the CP. I think this was the first time I was so invested in a couple even after they got together. Like usually, the exciting part is the chase right? But this couple held my heart hostage throughout the entire book, lol.

This was my first e-sports novel and I was not disappointed. I was entirely immersed, and I think a part of that came from all those gorgeous official arts, the audio drama, the manhua, the official songs. A large part of my enjoyment from novels comes from being able to visualize the characters. <<less

just recently made an account to review my fav novels AND OFC I HAD TO REVIEW FOG

FOG is one of those stories where you really have to read everything for you to love it. you can’t just read it halfway because it was written in a way where characters will keep changing and improving as the story goes along. once I finished FOG, I really couldn’t get over it. I wanted to re-read it again and again because it was so good.

it makes you feel so many emotions throughout the... more>> entire story and I just think that is super neat. the ups and downs the characters feel, as a reader, you feel them too. when they’re happy, you laugh along, and when their hearts are breaking, you chest starts to hurt too.

i’m still not over how the confession scene was so painful... I could actually feel yu sui and shi luo’s pain when reading it (mostly shi luo cause well he was...)

ANYWAYS, the couple is also so good together. their interactions are always interesting and they do give me dog x cat vibes AHAHAHA.

on another note.. I really love yu sui. he’s so good, you don’t understand. and weirdly enough, I did like him even when everyone was swearing at him for being an ass before the whole backstory. I thought he was interesting... hehe

pls read it, I swear you won’t regret it. YUSHI IS SO FUCJING GOOD AND THIS STORY IS AS WELL. also, found family trope.. *cough cough*

ps: I LOVE PUPPY I LOVE PUPPY AAAAAA IM LOV PUPPPYYYYY ARF ARF I LOV U PUPPY U R MY FAVVVV AND HAVE YOU SEEN HIM IN THE MANHUA SO GORGEOUS I LOVE YOUUUU <<less

Wow I really am left with no words... When I first saw FOG I wasn't sure if I'd like it tbh since it's an esports novel totally a different genre than what I've been reading so far. Omg I totally didn't think that I'd love it a lot seriously it has everything the competition is fierce and exciting the misunderstandings aren't frustrating but makes the plot thicker and ofc the characters like my baby Luo Luo and slag man Yu Sui like they are the best couple ever you feel... more>> their love from the very beginning. Chen Huo, Puppy, the manager like every side character really complements the story It was such a nice and fun read I loved it😭💜 (the ending was also awesomeeeee) <<less

A nice, light read. This is the first e-sports novel I’ve ever read and it’s not too heavy on the technical jargons so it’s really easy to follow. The main couple’s relationship is sweet. It feels nice to read about an OP couple because you know nothing ever (permanently) gets in their way.

For those that find the MC annoying, I disagree. There are indeed times where he acts a little too spoilt and too much. But I guess that is his own charms and character, and it is also why the ML likes him so much. His character also makes the story much more interesting. The whole thing is just so cute and fluffy, other than the first part where it is quite angsty. OH OHH plus the ML really dotes on the MC.

And for those that were like 'I don't know... more>> whether to hate the ML or like the ML', just please finish reading it because everything will make sense in the end. The front part is indeed a little very angsty especially when reading from the MCs POV but when they start to explain everything in the later parts, you will definitely change your mind.

When reading I thought that there was definitely some sort of reason for the ML to act the way he did in the past and I was right. Just that what I expected or thought of was not even as bad as what the ML had to go through. To me, at his age, the things he suffered and the decisions he had to make were not something that was easy at all. Thus, in this story, I particularly like the ML.

You all may also think that the ML suffered so much but why is the MC still so mad or whatever at him. Well, that is partly because of his past. In addition, the ML is very important to him. Thus, when he heard about the decision made by the ML he could not accept it. By thinking from the MCs POV you will understand why he reacted that badly. So I do think that the MC does a reason to be mad at the ML even though that was the most ideal decision he made to protect everyone.

Anyways I had a great time reading this even though I don't really know the game itself or how it works. I had to imagine everything myself so it was a little tough but since the story is interesting I didn't mind putting in that effort. However, I do feel that the ending was a little rush. It would definitely have been better if they slowed down a little towards the end but I guess it's fine overall. <<less

Absolutely one of the best I've read, in my personal opinion. The story focuses more on the characters, rather than the gaming scenes aspect, but the characters are really sweet. The story starts with angst and grows to be very warm and cute. The characters, plot, and pacing are perfect.

You have to finish the novel to fully appreciate it. This is one of the most memorable novels here for me. It's a really good balance of e-sports, friendship, and romance.

The writing is a good display of show, not tell. You have to sit tight and use your brain to digest the story and not just mindlessly go through the words.

The best part is the dialogue. The author was able to flesh out distinct characters through dialogue. You can take some random dialogue from the story and anyone who has... more>> read the story carefully will know which character said it.

Read all the chapters from beginning to end before leaving a low review. There are plenty of novels here that are bad from the get-go, but this one isn't one of them. <<less
