It's an interesting novel of territory building & succession struggle with non-combat skills MC.

This novel starts with the process of MC character growth that usually happened off screen or glossed over in a few sentences in other novels. MC's past life mother was very controlling and the extreme portray of Korean's ambitious mom, causing his 'yes man' & weak personality.

The first 20+ chapters mostly show the character growth and starts with showing how pathetic MC is, so if you can't stand reading about a pathetic man growing, the early 20+... more>> chapters will be frustating.

But after the growth, things get better and it's interesting to see how MC utilize his non-combat skill and managing people in an environment where monsters are everywhere. <<less

Incredibly disappointing, as others have said the MC is just pathetic, and that's after his "mental growth" after 'dying'. He does this whole long monologue about doing what he wants in life rather than doing what others want; then immediately takes the route that his system wants him to do rather than do what he wants to do. There are plenty of other instances of him doing things he doesn't want to because he is a noble.

This dudes fiancé divorces him because he's of no use to her in becoming... more>> the duchess, then immediately wags his tail to her when hes starting to grow some influence and she's reconsidering her choice. The story is trying to do some bullsh*t 'she actually cared for him the whole time' but its so nonsensical that I cant stand it.

I mean for gods sake this dudes suppose to major in economics but when his merchant/s*ave guy recommends he gets a line of credit to buy some sh*t the MC is dumbfounded and averse. Man that is literally modern economics 101, you should more comfortable with that then breathing.

One last thing to end my rambling, if an author (or translator) says the novel gets good in X amount of chapters, feel free to not read the novel. The starting chapters are literally the most important part of a novel as it is suppose to hook the readers interest, show the quality of writing and keep them reading. If you can't do that well then the rest of the novel will almost always be poor. <<less

This was clearly written by a masochist. I almost vomited when he figuratively crawled back to his fiancee who coldly dumped him. He let's his in-laws kill him twice, and he won't retaliate. I wish I was joking with the last part.

So what is the plot? He gains a nonsensical ability to pray to a Goddess to make crops grow, and no one even seems surprised. That's the only reason his fiancee starts treating him like a HUMAN BEING again with the tiniest ounce of respect, sometimes complimenting him from... more>> the higher ground and scolding him for why he wasn't at least this useful when they were engaged <<less

Very unpleasant to read about this MC. He is exceptionally pathetic. His fiancee cancels the engagement and he collapses on the ground? Keeps hoping that it's just a joke? It's not even like it happened out of nowhere. By his own narration, she gradually kept smiling less and less often and repeatedly kept chastising him. Why deal with that?

Then he (MC) comes back home (Viscount's territory, where he is the heir since he's the eldest son) from his fiance's place and there the vicountess is his step mother (MC's own... more>> mother died already), and her children will be able to inherit the throne if he (MC) dies. He should know that she will plot against him. So when he is suddenly called by the viscountess to lead a force to repel an Orc invasion, he should already be suspicious of some plot. He then thinks that he should be able to handle it since he's an expert at strategy games (wut?). Then he tells the knights he's supposed to lead about his battle plan to counter the orcs, but they say the viscountess has already given them a battle plan. At this point anyone with half a brain would say "Wait, you made me commander, but you've already given the knights a battle plan and they won't listen to me? Why should I lead this group then?". But the MC is exceptionally ret*rded, so he just tells them to carry out those plans (wth?). At this point he should have atleast been somewhat suspicious but no, not at all. Then when the battle starts, the orcs attack his main unit, composed of ordinary soldiers. When the time's right, he order the knights to attack, but they don't listen to his orders. He keeps waiting for the knights to attack, but they don't. In the meanwhile his defence line keeps collapsing. Only when the defence line has completely collapsed and soldiers have started deserting does he then decide to flee. But it's too late, and he gets killed by the Orcs. Only as his life starts to drain from his body does he hear the knights start to charge and attack the orcs and only then does he think "Oh, they were purposely trying to get me killed."

How atrociously s*upid do you have to be to only realise it then? The MC reflects on himself being called passive, but this isn't being passive, this is just being dumb. To be passive means to not take the initiative. It doesn't mean they stop thinking at all.

Reading this was very unpleasant. At the time that I started reading this, it has a 4.4 rating. How that ever came to be I will not know.

Also, just as a sidenote, he already explained his first life's life story after the engagement got cancelled, but for some reason the author decided to have a long, dragged out repeat of his life story after he "died" as well. Not needed. <<less

The MC is a god-tier simp. His fiance dumped him, but he still goes back wagging his tail to her because he still has feeling for her.

Goes wagging his tail to his father, who didn't even give a fu*k about the MC, even not attending MC's funeral when he died for second time.
