It's a period slice of life. So there is no concrete plot. There are a lot of plot jumps if anything. Things get resolved very quickly and quite a number of plot holes. Anytime I think the author is building up to something or foreshadowing, nothing happens.

The summary made it sound like the novel would focus on various interesting melons but honestly... other than a few occasions, the System isn't too prevalent. So minus a star for the novel not delivering on expectations. The novel swings over various topics, almost... more>> like the author was losing track of what they wanted to write about.

Everything is smooth sailing for the MC. Was the system necessary? Not sure. Was it necessary for her family to be able to hear the system? Probably not.

There are some funny parts so I did laugh a bit. And MC is a salted fish so that's funny too. I won't lie tho, I skimmed a lot of the novel because it did start getting boring at times. Pacing was off and there were some strange time skips.

Im not sure all the extra characters add much value. They're okay to keep things a bit interesting. But they don't seem too important after their brief appearance.

Also, nationalism is quite strong in this story. And there's quite a bit of h*mophobia and sexist lines. And caricatures of stereotypes.

Spoiler

But around chapter 155, we get a female character who's basically r*ped a male character and it's very annoying. The male just accepts it. And the author brushes it off as the male not being reluctant when he was drunk. And starting the second round. And his thoughts are that it would hurt his masculinity to refuse. All off it left a bad taste. And this plot point seemed so unnecessary.

We also get a lot of MC attacking kidnapping/trafficking schemes. And traitors/spies. Constantly through the whole novel.

And then later it was mostly about MC inventing things. We basically get no details about her college life.

Outside of MC we just get family drama.

Also, I think the quintuplets was unnecessary. Only the girl had some storyline and the others had no presence for 3/4 of the book. I dropped it after that so I'm not sure if they had storylines later.

The story is a huge mess. Can't make out where it is going. In 20 chapter some 10 different characters have been introduced and had their share of issues which MC solved in 3 paragraphs. 😑 The system and and the whole story feels like redundant. Like a mix of different stories from the same genre.

Dropping.
