The great general he especially respected and revered, actually became an actor? (And is in fact, the popular Film Emperor)

What made Yang Anyu more shocked——he was already “married” to Yi Chenyan.

Several years later——

Fan A: Our Little Yu’s face-quality is high, acting ability is good, can sing and dance, when filming action scenes he is even more handsome, handsome to the point of collapse! Completely is a capitalized Su word!

Fan B: If I cannot sleep with Yang Anyu in this life is there still any meaning to it?

Fan C: But I heard he’s already married, his wife must have saved the whole world in her last life ah!

Yi Chenyan: ……

Big Film Emperor Yi looked at a certain Yang Someone under his body, recently he’s been becoming more and more possessive towards him, what to do?

I can't continue reading, my chest feels so full and stuffy. I can't like how the ML treated the original host, he just married the original host just because he looks exactly the same as the person he would sometimes see in his dream (which is our MC before died), JUST because they have the same looks DOESN'T mean that you can just marry him!

And the original host's big brother– I just can't, I really really can not stand his constant change in attitude. You will see him the first... more>> time when he appears, he seems like the usual bad-tempered-older-bro-but-was-actually-very-caring-for-his-lil-bro type that you could often encounter in any other stories, but then after the next few chapters, he says something really harsh to the MC and seems like he didn't care at all with how the MC will live and seem that he didn't want to be involved in the matters regarding the MC anymore because of his 'attitude' and 'bad reputation' that could bring the uncles to drag him down from his position as the president of the company, I mean, look at this sentence–;

Spoiler

"—you are the illegitimate son of dad. Now you can enter the Yang family as the so-called young master because he felt guilty about your mother. If dad was still alive, he would definitely spoil you. He would protect you, be willing to pay for everything.” Yang Jue did not hide the ridicule in his words, took a sip from the wine glass, and then continued, “But, I am different from my dad. After he left, although the company is now managed by me, the uncles and the aunties, all of them have been staring at me, staring at my position, hoping that I will do something wrong.” As he spoke, his emotions came up and he drank the remaining wine from the cup."

[collapse]

I mean sure, Author, maybe you can use the reason that he was drunk and doesn't know what he's actually saying and that he probably didn't mean it, but, come on– The way he said it, make me feel so bad for the original host, I can completely understand the reason why they would often fight when they meet.

Spoiler

And with how the older brother sabotaged his little brother (our mc) on his performance, just because he didn't want his little brother to be involved in the entertainment circle– Bro, man, dude, seriously, that's not the right way to do things, that's not the proper way to make your little brother step down from the entertainment circle. You should consider your little brother's feelings at least. He should have known that if he does that, he will only make his little brother look like a fool and then worsen his reputation, are you s*upid? Wtf man?? Seriously, Author? Is this the proper way and the right thing to do as an older brother?

[collapse]

I am sorry, in the end, I'm just ranting in here on the review section :')

Maybe it's just that I was just thinking things too much, and that it's not really that bad... But anyway, you should at least read this novel and review it yourself, since there's a chance that you might like this novel... But yeah, I can't continue reading at this point, but the translator did such a great job! Thank you very much for taking your time in translating this novel!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!! ❤ <<less

So so. I like the MC at the beginning, later I found him dull. ML also just so so. Barely have any chemistry. Their romantic lines feel cringey. The past story just unnecessarily angsty.

First of all this story doesn't make you feel frustrated with all the misunderstanding between the main couple. They get together around first 30 chapters. The plot is good. But the ending kind of became anticlimactic. Overall it is pretty good.I personally like the manager and bodyguard sidepairing. They are pretty cute.

So uhh, I cried a few times reading this story, mostly because of the Original owner. Everyone is just so... uncaring, thoughtless, indifferent towards him. He's not a perfect person, but he's not so bad-hearted that he makes me hate him. I can sympathize with him to a certain degree.

I don't really like the brother but it's not to the point of disgust. I kinda understand him, illegitimate brother out of nowhere with disagreeable personality. Still... That doesn't make me like him, especially after the MC transmigrated. The fact that... more>> he create a stumbling block for the MC doesn't help either. He never even visited the original body even before the MC occupied that body. I just... Feel sad. You could be dead but this relative still doesn't even deign you important enough to visit even once.

The ML, well where should I start with him. I don't like him. At all. He's kinda scummy if you think of his action from another perspective. But since we read from MC pov (who's loyal to the ML), it got watered down a lot. He married the OG for his face, bcs he resemble the MC from ancient time. Like wtf is wrong with you? Then, since he doesn't like the OG personality, the ML just ignored him, treating him like an air instead of working out their relationship. The OG is in love with him, it's obvious, so I think it's a red flag that he married someone that like him bcs of face then ignore the other party.

I cried when I read the crossed out 'happy' in OG's diary. He just want to be happy with ML. I feel so suffocated.

The MC, I guess he's okay if a bit dull. It's like... He has no personality other than liking ML. The relationship imbalance is thick in this one. I can stand power imbalance, but I cannot stand emotional imbalance. He's just so loyal to the ML that I can guess their relationship progress. I was hoping that the OG is actual reincarnation of the MC, but in the end they're two different souls. It makes the OG existence even more embarrassing. No one care abt him even when he's dead bcs they like the current him better. <<less

Tbh, I dropped this novel in ch 11, because I couldn't stand how the original host had been treated. The ML straight out into one of my worst ML's list. Although he's cold first and sweet and warm hubby in the inside kind of thing, I still hate his attitude to the original MC. I'm not saying he's bad, I just don't like his action. The way he became nice to the MC that transmigrated (xiao yu) rather than the original MC (da yu), didn't make sense to me. The... more>> legit explanation the author gave the reader is because his character or aura sudden change to good. Like, bish what?

Spoiler

And how dare the MC saying that the original MC deserve to be hated because of his wild attitude? Like, hello? What do you expect from someone who never received love since childhood, being isolated, constant hated, underestimated by everyone else in the family. And he's fcking child without mother and father. He lack of an adult guiding him. And his so called 'brother' mock him and disguised that mockery into an 'advice'. Like whata asz. Oh did I mentioned that the ML just marrying the original MC (Da yu) because he looked like the MC of this novel (Xiao yu (just because he saw it in his dream? Oh talk about idealist and s*upidity. He perhaps know that he's the fcking ML of some romance novel.

[collapse]

And I don't fcking care about all those side characters.

The only good thing about this is the story about Da yu the original MC. In the extra. For one chapter. Yes, it beats all of those original main story. His character is more interesting, his feeling is relatable, and he knows that he's quite a lazy character, but he worked hard still. The first time when I heard that he save that Qin guy, and how he always went to the bar alone, having fun, and how I heard the way his brother talked to him like, and how his fcking hsband ignored him and never go home. I already knew, this kid is fcking lonely.

He just want friends, love, warmth, someone he wanted to love, to care about. He missed his mother, the only person who give him love, but she died. And the extra finally made him find one. But, it's so short. I wish the main story is about him. Like healing and stuff journey story, you know.

Such shame. <<less

I honestly don't understand why some people are hating on this work so much. Yes, the start was bumpy but that's actually the charm of the story, that's what makes the ride worth it. It's like reading a physical book; you have to finish it til the end to truly appreciate it and I'm glad I did so bc I would've missed on such a heartwarming story.

The couples here each has their own appeal and I love it. Though some may find it a bit weird that many of the... more>> people surrounding the main CP are gay, it can actually happen irl bc people who can relate with each other tend to stick together. (I know bc I'm the same :P)

I really enjoyed this novel for first few chapters, a few chapters. As the story progressed, I actually dropped it a few times. Ah! Completed now.

Original MC (Da Yu) falls in love with ML at first sight. He wants to marry ML. But ML doesn't like him and his treatment towards MC clearly shows it. Later, somehow he manages to marry ML. But what MC didn't know is ML married him only because he resembles the youth in his dream. RIP MC. What a pitiful boy! His mother died early.... more>> He did have a father but not his love. His father did pamper him but only because of guilt he had for his illegitimate wife and her child. He had literally none who truly loved him or cared about him. And his love, ML had no feelings for him, to exactly say, disliked him. After marriage, MC lived lonely life in a prison (house). Thus, he attempted su*cide.

Why I wrote this stuff is only to say his character seemed more interesting and deep than the actual MC of this novel, Yang Anyu (Xiao Yu). I was more concerned for original MC. According to this novel, Da Yu is a side character. If I wanted to know about a side character more than the main character, and the story doesn't mention his story until extras, how would I be interested in the novel? Also, not only original MC, a few other side characters are more interesting than the main leads. Hence, I forced myself to complete this. For me, MC's character was bland.
Spoiler

He lost his family very early and he was always bullied by other children and also elders. Then one day, while he was being bullied, ML interupts in the scene and takes him to his manor like a hero saving a beauty (Apologies, but this scene actually felt like that which is very common in Indian films if you know) After that, MC becomes his disciple and then his bodyguard. After accompanying ML for a period of time, he dies on the battlefield. That's all. His original character was actually not explained clearly. Even if his past life was explained somewhat more clearly, I might have got some clues regarding his character.

[collapse]

Writing was also not fluent. The starting and endings of scenes were confusing sometimes. No exact character development especially for main leads.
Spoiler

Whether Singer Jiang (I don't remember the exact name) accepted the proposal of his fan, was not mentioned.

[collapse]
There are some more things I disliked but I think they can be tolerated. So, I won't mention them. Most of the story revolves around main leads. Since I was already frustrated by the main leads and was more interested in side characters, as a conclusion, I can say I am mostly pissed off by this novel. My rating is 1.5 to 2.0. And an extra star for translators. Totally, 2.5 to 3.0.

If you can tolerate these things, go ahead. <<less

I would give it 3.5. It's cute, not much drama. The story is ur usual lovey dovey movie theme. Plus point is tat the MC doesnt suddenly bcome OP but instead works hard, which is quite realistic. Minus point is tat I feel there are too many side CPs. It's like the author is forcing everyone to be together. Altho I feel it's quite cliche it still makes a nice light read.

I dropped it half way, around ch42 actually. I tried really did but the plot is slow and nothing really happens. I dont find it cute or fluff either.

I didn't like how the characters reacted to the changes in MC after he transmigrated into the awful hedonistic hated 2nd generation-feels as if they magically and instantly changed their dislike of him. Feels anticlimactic.

Too much focus on the entertainment industry, though to be fair there was a warning by translator, still its just not my cup of tea.

Honestly, I don’t have much positive reviews regarding this novel.

It’s not good and not that bad either, although I guess I did like some fluffy and smutty scenes but seriously. The story is confusing without much strong foundation.

The conflicts weren’t much helpful to the story’s progress, I just felt like they’re just there just because.

... more>> I could understand MC’s character as a loyal body guard from ancient times but... ML? hnggg.

He is the incarnation of General Yi whom MC is serving in the past. However, Idk I didn’t get much closure on this one because this was what I’ve been anticipating the most... but meh.

Regarding the original host, before MC transmigrated. I felt bad, truly. No one even missed him nor remembered him when the people around him knew that the person changed. It’s sad. Though, my sadness lessened a teeny-tiny bit because author gave him the HE he deserves, but still. It ticks me off.

In the end, there’s just some parts left unsolved or weren’t given much closure that I just roughly skimmed through every chapters from c64 (I guess, it’s around 60+)

Anyway, translation is good!! Thank you for the hard work!

This is my longest review yet. <<less

I like how the MC adapted to the Modern world and his sunny personality. There are many slice of life parts. Showing that in a person many things can happen and made him like that. Our ML is also good to MC. There are also some side CP's and many secrets to solve. A fluff story with Angst. There is also a lil story about the modern Anyu soul ^^ (He got transmigrated to ancient times-finally got his happy endings) I cried on some parts;_;

I'll explain to you what actually pulls some people's dissatisfaction. It's actually very simple, because the emotional setting is simply -_-

[MC] - Transmigrator, loyal bodyguard to the General Yi, filled with admiration to his general and nothing more. He projects his feelings onto Film Emperor Yi, who isn't his General Yi, which he admits to btw, but for some reason wants to act same way towards Film Emperor Yi, despite other person's utter indifference.

[ML] - Film Emperor Yi, not the the general, is shown feelings that don't actually belong to... more>> him and basically reacts to those feelings not knowing that originally they're directed not at Film Emperor Yi, but General Yi.

That's the point, the emotional entanglement starts from a really not so great point to me. Because one has only admiration in his heart, not love, to a person of the past, not present, while other misinterprets these feelings.

I drop the details that stuntwork is described quite incorrectly. So in the end I currently give thise 3 stars as starting point, because one, I barely read from it, but it was enough to leave a deep impression of where it will obviously go. And I don't really like when things are 'obvious'.

After deciding not to really waste time with it I read last few chapter I wasn't surprised with what I saw and dropped it. <<less

It is good as a casual reading, after reading so many stories from another world full of rules and details, it was good to relax, so I am not too heavy with my criticisms. I share the same thoughts from the comments that gave 2 and 3 stars, after he transmigrated many things were ignored about the original and remained so. The impression I got is that nobody likes the original, but after he transmigrated, he had no apology or conscience for the way he was treated before, besides, until... more>> now nothing has been said about what antics he did. Other than that, the writing is good and I intend to continue reading according to the updates, but the author missed the chance to make this story more gratifying, I don't feel too involved in the plot or the characters, it could have been better developed. <<less

At first I think the story is kinda halfassed, especially at showbiz part. Its cliche and the author just like put a bunch of summary here and there. Idk I like detailed novel and I think here is not detailed enough.

I got really bored at the part where MC shooting a variety show and almost dropped this novel. I thought the author forgot about the problems that have been mentioned on earlier chapter but turn out its just me being impatien. (Lol)
Finally one by one of the problem... more>> solved, but again its cliche and easy to guess tbh. And every problem even solved so easily.

Well after all the story is not bad. But I dont really like how there is too many gay guys in this novel to the point where even just a passerby is also gay. I mean if its omegaverse or the world where 3rd gender exist, then its okay, but here the story is set in normal world where even the country they live, the people still dont aprove same s*x marriage. Well ofcourse this is BL and fiction, its just imo tho.

Lastly, I thought the ML gonna have his memory from past life restored (?) and would have a talk about the past with MC, like confessing that actually after MC died protecting him, he was so sad or miserable and chose to never marry cuz he love MC so much or smth like that. But nope, he just say that maybe he already like MC from past life 🤷🏼‍♂️

It's a very nice story, or, better said, a story that tries to be really nice, about an orphaned teenager from ancient China dying in war and waking up in our modern world as a much older man married to an even older Chinese actor. This actor husband happens to look exactly the same as a general from ancient China who pardoned this boy when the little orphan being 8 years old back then came to steal from him. Destiny brought them together again.

Spoiler

The orphan was raised by the general to be his bodyguard, literally a living shield, the child placed his body in front of the general's body and sacrificed himself. So, the general did not kill him when the boy was 8 and stealing from him, he prepared him for his death and did that eight years later cutting his life short at 16.

The same pattern of the ML using the MC for his own purposes happens in modern times! Even his marriage to the orig. MC started and ended in such an egoistic and cruel way. He dreamt about a boy then found a man with the same face, married him just because he could, just because he was that person's idol, and abandoned him for six months, never even visiting him after in the hospital (where the original young man died after having an accident).

I find this author's line of thinking or fantasizing about such a gong, so deadly towards the boys he raised in both lifetimes, kind of strange and cruel.

[collapse]

The MC is truly young, fresh, honest and pure and behaves as who he is, as a 16 years old: he diligently studies, makes friends, has teen idols, decides on his future profession and treats his instant husband with gratitude and respect, as his senior, and his much older instant half-brother who tries to play a strict father role with him with mischief.

Well, of course the married couple will fall in love eventually which is, strangely enough, the least interesting part of the story. Maybe because the MC truly is only 16, needs parenting, family, and is barely beginning to live his life and the ML is a mature and accomplished thirty years old very creepy man, but there is a huge power imbalance and a weird vibe to it. They feel like a huge mismatch and one is too young by our modern standards to be married to a man twice his age, totally missing and skipping his youth, and another is just not likeable and is always absent and not generous.

If you want to enjoy this novel in English, Chrysanthemum Garden hosts its complete translation. I only started to read it because of the original translator who translated the first 7 chapters, they have a great taste in writers they chose to translate. If you don't mind actor x actor and entertainment industry and Chinese fandom theme, then you will probably like it <<less

Honestly this was boring.

Nothing really happened, and when it did happen it never really impacted anything. Face slapping was practically just side characters being mean and then a main character going "stop that".

ML doesnt seem to actually care about MC. Also him agreeing to marry OG MC who was very clearly in love with him and then treating him like tr*sh, to the point of not even wearing his wedding ring or going home, was so weird... Why did the author make him so mean to OG MC? if she... more>> wanted them to have a "OG MC is in love with ML but ML doesnt reciprocate" relationship why did ML have to agree to be married? It just gives him a "u can only think about me bec we're married now but I still wont care about you" thing and what even is the point?? to have them live in the same house????

Anyway. This was boring, everything that you would expect to effect the story is just glazed over, the ML doesnt even care about MC and MC just kinda drifts around doing whatever comes to him for no reason. <<less

I love superstar/transmigration plot but, the relationship between MC and ML is just erm? And about reincarnation and all, the way the author used it doesn’t really make sense. Many thing just happened to drive the plot, but how it came to be or how will it actually affect the characters got brushed off. There were potentially many times where there could/suppose to be drama or a need to talk about the situation, but the MC and ML just brushed it off with “I just love the you right in... more>> front of me” and “I love you the most”.

Spoiler

For example, MC said “I-I’m not Yang Anyu”. ML never ask or clarify, or at least do something to make MC open up so that ML could help share that emotional burden. MC just accepted ML “I love the you in front of me” and never speak of this matter again.

[collapse]

While I enjoy the acting part, the romance here is just filled with plot holes fluffiness. MC is happy loving excited puppy. I appreciate the author imagination on how the plot came to be, but sadly it’s stuffed with too many ideas and they were not well developed.

P.S. I read this officially translated in Thai, the writing feels a bit lacking, and the translator didn’t do a good job beautifying the translation. <<less

I read Chrysanthemum Garden's translation and as usual the quality was great. Worth the password lock imo, clearly effort was put into it.

As for the story...

It does sort of feel like a couple of different stories condensed into one. The pacing and timeline can be confusing. Only one side character has any sense of presence when he's not present. The final arc had me bawling, for BOTH MC and ml, and felt very... shocking. Complete genre shift. Reading to the end FULLY changes your experience of the story. It was... more>> a little cringy and repetitive in the fluff parts but was a thoroughly decent entertainment circle novel. Not a five star read, maybe, but I was emotionally involved and satisfied enough by the end of it to rate a solid 4. It's okay to have a story just to read it somewhat lightly sometimes, I don't feel it was disappointing or mediocre or lacking enough for a 3. Especially with the author note about suddenly feeling like selfcest, it shows they do understand some of the reader feeling.

If you want more of the similar entertainment circle story without rebirth drama, try Heart Has Lingshi! <<less

It's interesting. Mostly, the novel I read was modern transmigrate to ancient. Now it's ancient to modern but not just simple transmigration. MC transmigrate to the body of his reincarnation. It's the same with the ML so its quite unique.

What I don't really get was, why are they so kind to their enemy?

ML is a General before. It's understandable that he is not that extreme since he don't have any memory of his past. Well, he do dream about it but just a dream. While MC is a bodyguard of... more>> the General before, he should not be that soft. He have memories of his time in ancient times since he transmigrated yet the way he solve things is like a gentle maiden.

I didn't say he should kill or what. In the end, the enemy is not that evil at all. Besides its modern world. The enemy also have a reason why it happened. I just want to say that as a soldier, isn't the way he should solve things straightforward?

Anyway, it's good to read. Not complicated at all. <<less
