I give it a solid 8/10

The main focus of the novel gradually shifted towards development of MC’s plane rather than the system chip she acquired. While not necessarily bad, I am slightly disappointed that the novel failed to explore such an interesting premise it set up at the beginning.

Maybe the way the novel began did not properly build up the MC’s major aspiration of the suffering of women, reader’s aren’t very attached to her passion that shows up later. That and I found it less interesting than the various worlds.... more>> It’s not bad but all these incredible characters that we meet in the beginning are never mentioned again, and I feel disappointed.

There are so many things left to question, the ending doesn’t begin to cover them. Ending feels rushed and because of mtl translation not being very reliable, I feel like I missed alot of things.

Spoiler

What happened the the Wish Ghost King and the mysterious magician that nonchalantly created a massive interdimensional disaster that required the intervention of the system? What about the Taskers above level 3? The staff-like people? What is about the “Lord of (smth idk) ?”

Even though the novel isn’t bad and has alot of good points, the promise of a feast and being given a dish leaves me unsatisfied.

If this was a normal Ancient China power up, let’s change the world, I would give it high ratings. The issue is that it was not only that. The system chip was never mentioned layer on, and we aren’t given proper closure on a major part of the novel. Feels like it was only there to give the MC her OP powers. Ok abit much but it’s not a false statement.
Sigh. Very sad but I must give credit where it’s due.

Charaterization is great. Multiple unique characters, interesting entertaining character interactions, characters aren’t just passerbys but fully solidified characters. Incredible interactions arcs with the missions having a goal and unpredictably exciting plot. The world does not revolve around the MC and there is so much more to the universe.

I fell in love with multiple sidecharacters, Andrew the little gentleman wolf club, a little adorable baby. Beruit,

, Chen Yilang the modern otaku and his slapstick relationship with the MC, Yan Chixia a genius taoist with a heart for the suffering etc. Etc.

Worldbuilding 10/10, mayhaps she used ready built worlds but still took the time to describe to the readers who don’t know. MC is an interesting character and her character growth is substantial through the process of the novel but she is still her at the essence.

Wanted more missions, wanted to see the friends from before, really really hoping there is a sequel or a book in the same universe. <<less

If this novel stopped around the halfway mark, it would be really good. The premise is interesting (ancient person gets mission system is an uncommon premise still) and her early arcs are novel.

Sadly, the MC stopped facing any danger or needing to use their brain or skills very quickly (1/3rd of the way through), and they don't end up going into the mysteries of the system whatsoever. The background lore also remains inexplicably entirely unexplained.

It literally stopped doing the mission system whatsoever like 2/3rds in, and ... more>>

became the "chinese nationalism in ancient times" simulator. This is an ancient countryside girl without a sense of regional or national identity in a plane where china doesnt exist (she never interacts w the world outside her immediate village or county) and then randomly becomes indoctrinated w Chinese identity by interactions w other players in the mission system and her character is entirely rewritten. She doesnt even do missions for the latter quarter or 1/3 of the novel, its nonsense territory development and modern technology tree which directly contradicts the rules of the plane setup earlier by the mission system. (She is from an ancient supernatural plane, and somehow develops technology from the 20th and 21st century despite the fact that the system already directly states that doesnt work). It also directly contradicts her previous character design as she wouldnt have let loads of random people die to accelerate social progress in her early arcs. I also found the finale contradictory because it's supposed the be women empowerment after the first arc where she learns life isnt about these feudal gender roles and then at the end of the novel she ends up working within the female roles in ancient society to make progress instead of using her power for improvements to the world immediately (something she is very capable of doing as the mission system is incredibly busted)

Also, xenophobic/borderline racist viewpoint of other countries is reflected both in the MC and the authors writing of mission plotlines w foreigners <<less
