If you could return to the day you met, what would the two of you do?

“Ah! Fate is unfathomable like that. Never would anyone be able to guess that such an ordinary encounter could lead to such an extraordinary future. Although our encounter that day contributed to a resplendent future, I sometimes find myself reminiscing about ordinary days. If time could be rewound, would I choose to step foot into that tavern where we met… Ah, no! Even if that tavern had not existed, we would definitely have met anyway, because our encounter was indispensable fate!”
– Bard

“With my blade, I’ll cut the tavern, destiny, and this bastard in half all at the same time.”
– Red Cloak

Female Warrior details the 1st generation of the Twelve Holy Knights from The Legend of Sun Knight.

(≧▽≦) / the novel is about a wandering bard looking for the "warrior queen" who lead the glory to the holy king and his kingdom. "A certain bard" is the male lead and "the red cloak" is the female lead of the story. While the personality of the bard can be classified as dork (almost falling/tripping over something, dragging people to his mess) he has pure thinking, believing that bad people will repent someday, the red cloak is someone you can't mess around, strong, and has cold personality, though... more>> she couldn't ignore the plea of people she acknowledges. A lot of comedy and serious events mixed here so your feeling might change from anxiety to laugh. I love how the author wrote the characters and the enemies as well, so you can't help but sympathize with the characters ε=== (っ≧ω≦) っ <<less

Omg! I hope the author finishes with the full story soon ><
This is a great prequel/teaser to the actual story of the 1st generation of the Twelve Holy Knights. It's a short read... too short! I'm left with an expectant feeling that the full story will be very very awesome XD However, it has been so long since this prequel was published and so far there's no signs that the full story has been written ~disappointed~
Still, it's a good read with lots of fun moments, similar to the... more>> Legend of the Sun Knight. Speaking of the Legend, I've recently reread a bit of it and realised that after so many centuries the traits of the original knights have been exaggerated to cause much grief to the 39th generation..... ~ROFL~ <<less

Sometimes I wish that series would never end. Alas this is old, and it is only a prologue to the main series (including second book too) and yet, no sequels have yet to be written.

The only thing I do know, is that these books actually cover the first generation of the Holy Knights, even though it can be read as a stand alone series.

They are too short though, but so far we have Sun, Judgment, Metal and Leaf knights (for those who have read the LSK, they... more>> will understand).

Basically the story goes that the Holy King has 2 wives. The second wife, dubbed the "Warrior Queen" defeated army of demons and went to explore the world...

In the current time, however, a bard called Silvester Uriah Nate, dubbed Sun, is a bard who needs to sing the Ballad of the Warrior Queen for three days whenever he enters the new city. After all, one of the ballads has a question directed at her, and he hopes that he will be able to find her.

What he finds is a mysterious Red Cloak person, and they love listening to the ballad...

Overall nice and short books! :D I can't wait for the main series, whenever it gets written...

(i just copy/pasted my goodreads review because I have no intention to write another ahaahah, user: Kristalia ♥loves tragedies♥ (◕‿◕✿))

For book 2 i'll put under spoiler!

Final rating: 4/5 stars

Here I am with the second book review. After reading afterword, it's 100% known that this is a long time ago prequel for series, as it is about how the first 12 knights came to be. Although we have only 4 so far, epilogue that vaguely tells about the rest of them and artbook that shows info on the original knights.

It's interesting how some things changed and some haven't. Silvie, or Sun, is in fact totally the Sun Knight they are trying to act in 38th/39th generation: graceful, elegant, will forgive everyone, smiles a lot, has long blond hair and blue eyes, and worships a god called Ohmygod, which is in fact a slime, but could actually be God of Light?

And cold, unforgiving and vicious personality definitely resembles Judgment knights, and hostility & care towards the Sun Knight (or in this case Carol & Silvester's relationships).

Anyway, entertaining books. Author said she will expand this series after she finishes LSK completely, which means after 39th generation books 2 and 3!

So far, so far.... T_T

I can't wait!

Really a good, comedic, suffice to say light read. I definitely love the contrast between our two protagonists, and the interaction of all characters introduced so far. They are really very distinct personalities and I applaud the author for successfully pulling such!

I have no reason to give this a rate lower than 5, because the development and characterisations were solid for me. I am sold out with the personalities, the writing style, the world, the adventure, and the translations done by the group behind this. I would still recommend reading... more>> it 'cause it was indeed fun. If you're looking for a light read, some adventure and comedy, imo, this one is def worth sparing an hour or less of your time.

Spoiler

Just a heads up: TL;DR the ending is unexpected and will leave a gaping hole in your heart.

However, rather than labelling this a "rushed" novel as mentioned by Kailyria20, I considered this as a teaser. True, it was a "sudden" end but the development was not at all rushed imo. Moreover, author-san did say she might get back to this after finishing her other story, which by the way is kinda like a spin-off (something related) to this one so I still have my hopes up.

If you've read Log Horizon, imagine her current story as Log Horizon and this particular project (Female Warrior) is like a glimpse of the Debauchery Tea Party. I kinda perceived it as that. Hence, my reason for considering this a teaser... a very effective teaser might I add. lol

Author-san, please get back to this, I beg youuu! T^T

This is a great prequel to The Legend of Sun Knight as it describes the original Sun Knight and fellow knights. It also gives a good background information on how the legend of the knights began as well as where the individual knight traits came from. The prequel is more bittersweet and heartwarming compared to The Legend of Sun Knight which lean more towards comedy, but I still love the female MC in this novel as her background is very interesting and vastly different from other OP MCs ya read... more>> about. For any one who plans to or have read The Legend of Sun Knight, ya would definitely enjoy this prequel as it is very well-written and provides the background story on the where/why/how the sun knight and other knights formed. <<less

This is a pretty good stand-alone story separate from LSK. Even if it can be considered as a prequel to LSK. I really like this story especially Sun and his kinda ditz but likeable personality. It might be even better if there is a crossover between this and LSK. I would like to see Grisea's reaction to knowing about the 'true' personality of the first Sun knight.

Entertaining and humorous, especially if you have read "The Legend of the Sun Knight" and get to see how some of the original knights' "understood character traits" were begun. However the story is still incomplete - I hope the author will finish it!

I really liked this one, however...

Spoiler

I really think the end (i think its the end?). Kinda felt super rushed.. like.. how, when, who were these other people that joined their merry band... the story should have been WAY more detailed IMO. Considering all these people that joined, there could've been at least 4-6 more volumes or lol a volume for each person that joins lmao... but yea if only the story was lengthen more.
