Pacing is really all over the places. One chapter you were sparring against a heroine, the other chapter you already got into a trial and the next chapter you are getting into another encounters with enemies. It leaves you no time to get to know the heroines better and experience world building. Power scaling so far is also really bad. MC also relies very heavily on the system. Basically without system he does not stand a tiny chance.

The only reason I am still reading is I have a fond of... more>> yandere obsessive heroines but outside of that no other reason. <<less

The only reason FLs like our MC is because the system brainwashed them. The only reason plot happens is because system arranged it. The only reason MC gets stronger is because system gave him handouts for no reason.

So I kind of struggle to understand why do we need the MC here in the first place.

Accolades: Grand winner of 2022 Novelpia Universe Strongest Web Novel

Our MC gets reincarnated into a game and as always, wants to live peacefully...

He gets a skill which makes people with evil disposition attracted to him whilst also getting a skill that makes him stronger the more danger he's in.

With that skill going for him, he gets a lot of attention from crazy people (important to note that the novel isn't bl or has anything related to that) but you could say that MC is probably crazier than all of them... more>> and he is no way at all a "passive" MC, i.e
Spoiler

He allowed himself to 'die' just for a gamble that might not have worked

[collapse]

The villain characters fall for MC not only because of his skill but also his character.

The characters are all unique and interesting and of course with crazy evil people comes yandere...

MC has to deal with those crazy women who are after him and also dangerous characters who want to destroy the world. <<less

The story doesn't sound bad and the writing is good, but honestly I'm tired of passive protagonist... I know that if I went to a dangerous world I would do my best to be discreet and not get involved in the main plot too. But that's a story, I just wanted to see characters with more purpose, it's exhausting always seeing characters afraid to draw attention and just really wanting to live a simple life...

If any of you are discouraged due to MC's passive character, then you are mistaken.... He is one of the crazy guy.... If u think the MC depends on the future knowledge then the events gets f*cked up after few chapters due to butterfly effect.... The villains are also very adaptive because they have.....

Spoiler

A seer who can adapt to any changes and she is also crazy...

Overall The MC is cunning and the heroines are crazy but also cute yandere.... Love them all....

The starting premise was interesting. MC with love system but mostly works on villain types.

The MC on paper is pretty weak but has knowledge of the future and a system to help him grow. The female leads are pretty fun in the beginning with them having unique abilities, unstable mental due to the Devils dwelling inside of them, and their process in which they fall in love with the MC.

The reason this novel gets 3 stars is because that premise starts to wear off later on.

Let me explain, in the... more>> beginning the MC passively allures the leads (more hop on besides the first 2) through accidents and tries to keep their mental state in check or the world will die. So the premise is all about the MC reducing the rates in which the heroines succumb to inner devil corruption. The MC is able to handle this through using the system and passively juggling in sharing his time with other girls. The main issue is that all of these women are intense- world ending Yanderes; where the slightest issue or lack of attention, will lead to them being corrupted instantly. At first its ok, but it becomes really annoying when the MC doesn't realize he has to step up his game.

The MC already knows that these women need to fall in love with him, and even got this confirmation throughout the story. Yet, he does lackluster approaches to maintain his relationships properly- which leads to various leads to hop in and out of devil states frequently. He's only able to fix things because he suddenly gets a little more romantic to call them down, but messes up again soon after because he chooses passive approaches. The worst part is that the MC knows that these women love him because the system shows how they feel about him. Yet, he still does dumb stuff like actively avoiding them every now and then (which leads to devil events to happen).

It becomes clear by chapter 50 or something that the MC needs to be more affectionate and honest with his female cast, but actively chooses not to. This leads into annoying jealously based developments with the female casts that could of been avoided if the MC stopped being so aloof. It's one thing for him to be passive, but its another where the system blatantly tells him how all these women feel for him.

I will edit this review if the MC realizes this and becomes giga chad, but quite frankly it feels like the MC so far is like one of those Japanese cringe rom-com MCs, where we're supposed to be charmed of the 17th time the main female lead turns into a devil due to the MC being dense.

TL; DR: Fun start, yandere Female cast, MC's passiveness creates problems later on- which leads to poor story telling. 3/5 if you want something to read lazily. 5/5 if you really like jealous Yandere types. <<less

I really don't understand the high rating for this novel.

Everything felt incredibly forced, from the point where this so called villainess took interest to the hero being obsessed with him.

For instance, on the train where he first met the villainess, he "accidently" mentions out loud that she is "surprisingly nice", despite knowing her character that acts as a nice person on the outside, which of course peeks her interest because nobody should know about her "darkness" bleh. From that point on, he became her sole interest, as if that's the... more>> most interesting thing that ever happened in her life. Also, her so called darkness is not even darkness, it's just a girl that likes to take revenge, like everybody would if somebody wanted to kill you.

Another point, when dueling against this hero character, in the scenario, the hero was about to stab him in the chest with her wooden sword, but then he super powers up and manages to punch her and wins.... Since when are hands longer than a sword huh? Physics? Hello? Also his skill activates and gives him strength depending on the type of life threatening danger.... the hero wanted to only injury but for some reason, he got the highest boost. If you read further into the chapters, a guy that wanted to stab him gets a lesser boost, my god.

These types of misunderstanding keep on repeating, and of course everybody falls in love with him etc. etc. I can see new readers being interested in this if you haven't been in this type of novel genre before. <<less

The story itself is worth four stars. It's solid. Entertaining protagonist, interesting story, side characters that make you curious about them, etc. What kills me is the translation. It's completely papered over with nonstop American teenage slang. "Rizz", "legit", "it do be like that", "yo", "dude", it just never stops. This is in a fantasy novel. It isn't unique to the main character either, natives from the world use the same ridiculously out-of-place turns of phrase. I haven't seen something with overzealous localization this bad since the heyday of dubbed... more>> anime changing everything about the source material. At this point, I genuinely think a machine translation would be a better read.

In short, 4-Star story, 1-Star TL. I gave it 3 to be generous, and because I'm holding out hope it will get better later on. <<less

The story is about a guy who wakes up as an extra in the video game he is a veteran of. By pure coincidence he gets involved with the final boss and the hero of the game (both harem members) changing the story and putting himself as the center of the game's main questline. By using his game knowledge, he overcomes his weak in-game stats, completes the game challenges and creates harem along the way.

I have read the first 33 chapters and have 2 main problems which make the read... more>> not very enjoyable.

The first is the protagonist's motivations. He claims to only wanting to survive and not wanting any attention on himself but always put himself into a great risk and into the spotlight (of course plot armor saves his ass). Also even though he knows the girls are in love with him (the game tells him) all he do is using them for his plans and never shows any kind of affection or care (different of 'she is an important character so must protected for the game plot to happen'). Tiny spoiler example:

Spoiler

He invites the girl he knows is in love with him to a dinner at expensive hotel only to use her to beat the bad guy's goons putting her and himself at great danger

[collapse]

But that is just a little annoying (I can even see some people finding it charming). The real reason why I give it 2.5 star is that the plot is full with random info. Like 70% of the chapters are random world building, our guy finding some skills in his skill tab and some in-game farming strategies (that he knows bcs he is a game veteran duhh). Majority of the novel is: MC combines this skill with that rare item under the full moon, so he can become the most powerful at the given situation despite his very weak stats. It feels like you read a very detailed playthrough tutorial of a game that you don't care about.

Maybe it becomes better at the letter chapters, maybe some people enjoy this type of story but for me it feels too dragged out and don't really understand the high rating. <<less

If I could use one word to describe this novel, its "Chaotic " but in the best possible way think Lighthouse level of bananas but its a Yandere novel instead. The kind of chaos that makes you grin every chapter and you cant help but wonder what comes next, whats the MC gonna do next, what about the heroines and I am left with the same grin everytime I finish a chapter. Its all thanks to the wonderful cast of characters the author has created. I read this novel in... more>> its worst form (mtl) and I f*cking loved it but now that Genesis has picked up this banger I am more than excited to see what they do with it as evident by their excellent translation resume and boy do I share their love for yanderes. And if you are here for Yanderes you wont be disappointed and the author has made just the right kind of MC to more than match the craziness the heroines bring into the fold. I wont go into too much spoilers but ill write enough about the cast so you know what to expect.

Lets start with Dowd or Daud (depending on where you read it)

The man is a walking Rizz tank, everything he says and does is a recipe for yandere disaster or greatness depending on how much you like yanderes. There is just something about him that makes him so f*cking likeable. While he has his moments where he does something intentionally or unintentionally that makes you go why did you do that but author does a wonderful job in turning each of his decisions meaningful and chaotic for the better. And I think his craziness more than matches the other heroines's madness. As is evident from his first encounter with Elnore (the best girl) , the supposed villain of the novel he transmigerated into who will bring the world to ruins. His system is a double edged sword. While he is supposedly a bug that can be squashed at a moment's notice power scaling wise, his unique attribute which makes him scale according to how much danger his life is in makes him that much of a menace, much similar to Isaac from Demon Limited Hunter. And later down the story he gets one of my fav side characters ever as a companion and his banter with him is so funny. But his other attribute makes him fated to be loved by the villains and thats where his interactions with the heroines comes into play and how he attracts the most villainous people. And the heroines are so good. Hell he even manages to rizz up the supposed good character and even turn her into a yandere.

Spoiler

The heroines range from my fav Elnore the final boss to the hero Elijah (who is super sweet and eventually turns yandere too much to Daud's dismay) to Yuria (who is like a small puppy you just wanna hug and has a really cool skill that makes people not come into contact with her but do you think thats gonna stop our boy Daud despite the fact it might kill him? I loved her arc) to her sister Lucien (who is probably the most sane person so far in the novel and is getting more spotlight in the recent chapters and I am all for it and I am getting the feeling that she might switch into a yandere too) to Lilu (renegade warrior yandere. While not my fav, she is still a great addition especially her devil she is a baddie.) to Feynol (whom I absolutely adore especially how Daud makes her open up heart) to Sullivan the PM (who is apparently a regressor with an interesting story with daud but the author hasnt expanded much on it so far) to our very recent Rizz victim Cecilia the Empress (the last few chapters were wild) and finally Seras and Victoria (sister assassins, need I say more ?) . Did I forget the devils ? No I didnt but lets leave that for you guys to read about

[collapse]

Spoiler

Lets close it off with Elnore my fav. She perfectly embodies the chaos I talked about before. She is just chef's kiss. She is a walking doom's day time bomb, has all the noble attributes you would expect from a character in her position (come on man look at her illustrations, she is like a better Esdeath but not mean but so sweet) but when its comes to Daud she turns into a crazy girl in love and its a joy to read about her interactions with the other heroines. Daud rizzes her up in the best way possible so she wont run amok and each of her interactions with him are my highlights. Her devil is just as great man

[collapse]

Spoiler

There are some other very fun characters like Elnore's dad Duke Tristan and Elijah's Dad (forgot the guy's name lol) but they have really cool chemistry with Daud

[collapse]

Anyways sorry for the long write up. I recommend this for Yandere enjoyers and a very fun MC . A certified 5/5 from me and I wish genesis the best on the translation project. <<less

It's readable I guess.

Don't expect anything deeper than a puddle when it comes to character development and world building.

The love interests are not really attracted to the protagonist, its either just a misunderstanding that makes them like him or just good old system/magical manipulation that makes them fall in love with him. There doesn't seem to be any chemistry between any of the characters inside this novel and it has too many chapters to be this bland.

The beginning of the novel is the best part, if you find the premise... more>> interesting start reading and you will most likely completely loose interest after 40-50 chapters.

This isn't really a serious novel and by that I mean it doesn't really have too much effort put into it. The best way to describe the plot is:

Bad thing will happen or has happened, protagonist knows the solution instantly and shocks everyone or gets plot armored to the moon.

There doesn't really exist a loss for the protagonist, yes sometimes the author says he has to go through a lot of pain or something but it doesn't really have any impact. The novel can be entertaining however the humor is not great and its most likely the translator's fault. <<less

It's nice and fun but also deeply flawed. So it's an action comedy type with a harem but the girls are de-emphasised which is a strange narrative decision as they're the main driving force of the plot.

The story is about this guy who reincarnated in a videogame world and it's living the quiet life in the boonies and has to go to the academy, decides he will not stand out at all and immediately gets tangled up with the (pretty girl) final boss and drops his resolution to be a... more>> mob like a hot potato and decides to beat the game or something, it's not super clear.

Usually I can get behind this type of two-timing playboy type of character which is kinda what we get but also he's "unwilling" and he's also the dumbest guy in the universe even when he reassures you in his inner monologue that he's not. Like bro just own up that you're total tr*sh. I'm not asking for a genius but I can't overstate how beyond s*upid this guy is, it's a conscious decision by the author and you can almost see him smirking behind the text thinking he achieved peak comedy. The romance and seduction if you can even call it that it's also fairly half baked to put it extremely kindly.

For a guy that allegedly wanted to live a calm life and spent 15 years living in a farming community as a baron's son, he sure knows everything about the game to an obsessive level even things that he should have 0 ways of knowing like the "quest for the main character" as in how to romance the main character, in the game the main character is you so... That's the equivalent to getting to know how to romance Link in a Zelda game

If you read some other korean medieval academy types you know what to expect, but the main character willful s*upidity makes this a very hard read. Not particularly recommended but also not as bad if you don't find the things I talked about to be a deal breaker <<less

Still too early to judge but I will still give a 5 star so that it will bring more attention.

It's your typical Korean novel where MC is transmigrated to an insignificant character. The MC here is also passive like those typical korean novel where they want to avoid interacting with important people and just want to survive. HOWEVER, unlike other novels, due to the MC's skill, he will no doubt be approached by them. 6 chapters in and he's already in the center of attention by not just his classmates... more>> but also the big shots. So, indeed he has a passive mindset, I don't think it will last that long.

The pacing seems a bit fast but I think it's done well. The characters are interesting and so is the world. MC seems passive but he has some hint of a badass within the 6 chapters so I'm hoping the author can develop it.

Why read the novel?

If you like harem,

If you like villainess,

If you like yandere/s,

If you like romance,

If you like action,

And if you like your typical korean transmigration novel but done well (at least in these 6 chapters)

Then give it a try. <<less

Great story if you turn off your brain.

Lets face facts. The vast majority of Korean novels peak early. This one in particular is a good example of taking a good plot idea and over complicating it for no good reason.

The base concept is a guy in a game using exploits and what not to progress the story while balancing the relationship he has with the main villain and protagonist. That’s fine. I like that idea.

Its that the second level plot that’s horrible, where somehow people think he’s weak while he... more>> constantly one hits people in public, becomes godlike in any threatening scenario, and has a brain encyclopedia of every little fact of the game, all these things make this story just a wanton self jerk fest.

MC literally makes main plot altering decisions in a second- with random abilities appearing in mid air. “Oh both girls want me to take them to the fair? I can’t pick one so I’ll take both.” 5 mins later learn how to clone himself. Don’t even get me started on the romance- it’s a joke and there’s no substance to a power that just makes evil people obsessed with you. Not that the MC “earns” anything lol.

This story gets near incoherent, and it feels like despite every new character introduced being the most powerful being ever, they are irrelevant, because the MC is a god. <<less

It's either I'm sadistic, or seeing MC suffer from a yandere harem is an acquired taste.

I digress, very nice start. I would have rated it above average as a junk food but the later part is utter chaos. Feels like author kept pulling bs from their ass just to cook the story. Most of all, the system makes everything convient.

MC is also annoying when it comes with handling relationships.

Spoiler

Despite being dense, he knows the heriones are in love with him because of the system, and he later on knows that he needs to properly seduce them 'to save the world' but he just half baked his attempt, sometimes not attempting at all and even being avoidance instead. You could argue that he's afraid of them but it's not consistent considering he had shown determination to really save the world.

[collapse]

Also, romance is just a hollowed shell of misunderstandings.

The only reasons you would give this one a shot is

    • You like harem
    • You like yandere
    • You wants some tickles with it
    • You want to see a MC suffering because of yandere harem. (This is probably just me)
Not because of

    • Romance
    • Plot
    • Drama
If you're giving it a shot, my advise is to read while turning off most parts of your brain and you'll enjoy some parts of it despite the chaos. My take is that it's slightly more comedy with harem than harem with comedy if you catch my drift. But that doesn't excuse it from being this bad later on.

TLDR: 2.5/5 yandere harem junk food with some tickles with the right mindset. <<less

Imma just put something like a summary of the first three chaps because the synopsis doesn't say sh*t these days.

Spoiler

Our boy transmigrates into the world of savior rising and he gets a skill that attracts "villains"and gets point and rewards based on how they feel bout him, which later affects "good" guys too. Also he gets a skill like issac's from AWBDLH, but he gets power based on the danger level or hostility. So let's say if a dragon is trying to kill him, he'll get boosted to EX rank, while if a second-rate villain tries to kill him, he'll only boost to like D rank.

summary of first three chaps

first chap we get to know his background, like how he's a son of a Baron and stuff. Then he goes to the train to get to the academy, but he finds the seitokaichou who's the villain that'll destroy the world. Then there's an attack on the trains with rocks and other random things that I'm too lazy to write about. Then in chapter two there's a fight between original fMC and our boy in which he just one shots because of the skill that I explained before. Actually what I explained is in the third chap, but a lot of random info so skipped.

But you shouldn't let the first few chaps put you off. Though in the beginning he does want to be an extra/mob, later he just accepts the fact he's gonna be the center of attention and don't worry it doesn't take long. Instead of being passive like what someone in the other review said he's actually a bit crazy at times, which is always nice. I mean homie git threatened the emperor/king.

For characters they're all yanderes rn except Yuria.

Some random nitpicks bout the novel.
In the beginning it might feel a bit fast paced, but after purifier arc I think it improves a little bit, it's still wack from here to there. The girls aren't super yandere, like they're not like thinking about locking or kidnapping our boy or anything like that (yet).
overall 3.4 as of now.

The novel starts with a captivating premise that immediately draws the reader in. However, as the story progresses, it becomes bogged down by excessive details that detract from the main plot. This lack of focus makes it difficult for the reader to follow the story and stay engaged. The author would benefit from a clearer focus on the core elements of the narrative, to ensure a more enjoyable reading experience for the reader.

MC reincarnates as a mob, gains skill that makes villains like him. He wants to live a chill life, well until he finds out the one who likes him the most is the final boss.

MC is not passive it seems, it looks like he'll actually use his system to get as strong as possible to survive whatever is to come, so yeah looking forward to more.

Can't say other thing that BALLS OF DIAMOND. That's the only way to describe out protagonist, the rizz lord himself, Dowd.

So you know how in the popular novel Overlord, Ainz is constantly misunderstood but it somehow works out in the end since he's an all powerful litch? Well take the part of it all works out at the end and you'll have our dear MC.

The misunderstanding that happen around this man are truly something beyond, you need 100% a galaxy brain to understand even a tiny bit of what is... more>> happening. But the best part is that the one who has to face the consequences of his actions is MC himself and let me tell you: IS A FREAKING ART to see this man evade the worst possible situation with his tactics.

Our dear Dowd is weak, he isn't OP so instead of punching his way through he kneads a plan and gathers the necessary pieces to beat whatever obstacle is in front of him. He gathers people, items, weapons, equipment, etc. He works his ass off just so everyone can get their happy ending even if HE has to suffer for it.

Overall, this novel is pretty comedic with some touches of seriousness here and there. The author knows how to work with the powers he created and the plot twists he devices are truly something you wouldn't expect. The world is wide and vast, well divided with each faction having their own unique touches and our protagonist knows how to exploit all that to achieved the desired result... Even if there are some major world ending problems in between.

The details and descriptions are just enough. Just enough detail to give you a clear image of what is happening withour making the reader feel overfed with information.

Each heroine shoulders something that must be resolved in order to truly save them. They are villains of course their past is f*cked up and our man, Dowd, is there to guide these gals to happiness even if he dies doing it. The interactions are both cute and bone chilling between all the girls and our man. Sadly he can't choose a single girl or the world will face instant destruction... I'm not joking.

He either achieves the harem ending or dies along with the world, there's no other way. Through heaven and earth only Dowd is the rizz lord. He shoulders the hope to save the world but he isn't alone, with his trustworthy friends and the power of a system, waifus, devils and maybe even god by his side Dowd will struggle against every "impossible" to reach the one and true happy ending.

And as I have always believed, please don't take my words as a truth and go dive yourself into the crazy world of our protagonist to judge for yourself if it is worth your time or not. <<less

Fated to Be Loved by Villains is a must-read for any fan of yandere romantic comedies. From the incredibly entertaining premise to the pitch-perfect execution, this novel fires on all cylinders.

Our hapless but cunning MC finds himself reincarnated in an otome game world he's intimately familiar with - only this time, he's fated to be obsessively loved by all the unhinged villain girls. What ensues is a wild, madcap adventure as he desperately tries to survive the escalating romantic obsessions of these beautiful but psychotically dangerous women.

The yandere heroines themselves... more>> are the true stars, each one more delightfully unhinged than the last. The author has crafted such richly distinct personalities and abilities for them that you can't help but get invested in their individual plights and infatuations with the MC. Their escalating romantic rivalries make for an endlessly entertaining ride.

And at the eye of the storm is our utterly shameless MC who uses every trick in the book to keep the women's obsessions in check through a combination of cunning, future knowledge, and reluctant charm. His committed but erratic decision-making keeps you perpetually on your toes.

With perfect blending of comedy, romance, action and thriller elements, Fated to Be Loved by Villains is simply an addictive tour de force in yandere romantic comedy writing. Strap in for one wild, sexy, terrifying roller coaster you won't be able to put down! <<less

Honestly, I basically hate all harem. It usually comes off as a crappy author doing wish fulfillment. In this novel though, it works. The MC doesn't want harem. Honestly he'd probably happily cut ties with all the women chasing him if he could do it safely. Unfortunately he's in a situation where breaking off the relationships could literally cause the end of the world.

It sound ridiculous, but at least for me, the author really sells it.
