I didn't expect much out this seeing as it was a textbook game element universe at first glance but am I ever glad I tried it.

The prologue and the first 4 chapters are astounding. It could use a little bit of editing as far as the translation goes but it's is still of a good quality. In the first 4 chapters the author should have you totally hooked, I loved the concept that he created in the beginning. It made it so that we really didn't need to know anything... more>> about the main character because in those four chapters you see the MC grow and get a great grasp of who he is.

This isn't a novel where you gotta give it 20 chapters till it gets good this novel comes right out of the gate on fire. There are a few points that you'll have to deal with, alot of the humor is pretty specific to Korea. Most of it is universal humor but there is definitely some stuff that just won't be as funny since we aren't the intended audience. The TL'ers do a good job with footnotes in those cases though.

Also, for me the high point of these 28 chapters was the very beginning. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as the rest of it so far is very good I just don't want to see such a good concept and great beginning turn stale after awhile. For now the author has my trust though.

First 28 chapters - 5/5 <<less

I addictively fully read this a few years ago when I was a young little lad. I've even fully revisited this 3 times, yes it means I've fully reread this novel 3 times throughout my life as of writing. IMO its a fun novel to read, this is one of the novels that really shaped my favorite genres and got me into reading light novels and the like. I'm a sucker for at least decent OP power fantasies and weak to strong.
The other top reviews here, whether it be the 1-star or 5-star reviews, are already constructive enough on why you would want or would not want to read this novel yourself, make of that what you will.

I read this while the links weren't dead and I completely finished it. I consider myself quite lucky.

This is one of the most popular novels on NU for a reason.

The thrill you get while reading is quite fun, and it's a page-turner. Well, link-clicker, but you know.

... more>> Ahem, anyways, I saw a lot of the 1 & 2 star reviews, and can only say this:

everyone has their preferences.

I personally think that this is one of the most memorable Korean novels I'll ever read. The jokes are pretty softcore, especially because of things lost in translation, but they still achieve enough of their goals.

The characters are more fleshed out than most characters of mosts web novels nowadays.

There are quite a few plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat.

The world-building is great. Marvelous. Beautiful.

The very plot, the foundation of the story, is unique and creative.

I will say, it isn't that fastest-paced novel. But it is a good read nonetheless.

TLDR;

just read the boldened points. <<less

This novel started like a normal novel with OP MC. And until some moment it was pretty enjoyable to see after his journey. But after some moment I started to feel some boredom while reading the novel. I tried to endure this, because I believed that after this bore moment it will be better. But even after 50 more chapters boredom never leave, so I dropped this novel

It is a feeling like MC has plot armor. Nothing can even shake him. Jokes has stagnated and almost disappeared so it seemed... more>> like some overly po-faced novel. <<less

'A world with Apocalyptic plot line with a loner protagonist' is a best way to describe the story with single line.

The story is fixed in a chaotic world where factions fight for supremacy, destruction of worlds, seven desires, a racial discrimination, etc. Various planets (or worlds is what author calls) are faced with the crisis of mana wave which results in evolution of every living creature except humans beings or other intellectual beings into mindless monster whose only desire is destruction. (Pretty cliche right, still it's enjoyable.) The story follows... more>> the protagonist Yu Illan whose world faces the crisis of mana evolution.

The imagination for the world building of the author was so vivid that It feels real and descriptive. Author has my praise for his imagination for world building. I always like world building with slight mystery, where information is given at slight intervals, I pretty much disdain where info is dumped into few chapters at start of the novel which becomes bland and uninteresting which decreases my interest novel. There are some inconsistencies in the world building of the novel, which if you ignore should not be a problem.

As for protagonist, best way to describe him would be a loner, workaholic, low self-esteem in relationship, somewhat dense (you guessed right JP protagonist, but after some time it changes because of character development.), extremely caution and well slightly cunning. While making equipments or artifacts MC likes to name it in grandiose and in chunni way, which results him being slightly chuni. MC also always tries to foreshadow future with some cliche settings which sometimes comes true. And remember folks MC is strong point of the story.

From start MC is shown op with reasoning which can be justified why, after you read some earlier chapters. MC also likes to joke around often to set the mood, which in he succeeds, and yes novel has lot of comedy. And Comedy can also be strong point of the story for casual readers. Also MC is not some random guy who was chosen to be protagonist, MC was born to become protagonist or else you know world might have end, pretty cliche right? At end of the story you will get answer to your question why MC was an anomaly which was pretty interesting. Author also puts some airs for mystery which becomes pretty interesting later at the story.

Now for the side characters, side characters are just one dimensional and bland, what I mean is that most of the characters don't stand out except for one or two. Most of the side characters are shown to become shadow for MC to shine. Which I don't blame author as MC stands out most and main actual focus of the author was on MC. As for harem, girls are falling for MC with no actual reason, typical of the author who does not understand romance. Well there are some actual good points of romance and that would be interactions between Yu lllan and Liera (main wife of the MC and also my favourite. When the novel was at its peak, Liera was wifu candidate for most the fans) for one millenium which somewhat justifies their relationship for romance, others are just for appearance sake I guess or to fullfill harem tag. And I don't blame author for this as it's problem for most of the harem novels. !I miss TOCF!

Atlast, story is consistent and keeps you hooks until the end and can also make you binge it. So, there is no reason to not read it, definitely give it a try. The story specifically can be top tier for new readers and as for veterans it can be repetitive, but still you will definitely enjoy it. Also definitely read side stories which can cherry on the cake for the novel. <<less

I love this novel. It's like Yu Ilhan is one of those reincarnated characters that prevent the things that are going to happen, just that he is not reincarnated nor did he regress time. There were some novels in wich I couldn't really understand the mecanisms or the battle scenes but I was thrilled every action scene of this novel. Loved the interactions of Ilhan with the other characters too, specially the angels.... more>>

I think, from where I am in the novel, the harem will gradually become real (? Or canon and I kinda have to change my mentality or smthing because I don't want that to ruin my pleasant experience. Really I like them all that's why I'm gonna try my best, and its kinda thrilling too. ;P

i think the novel is somewhat entertaning and really makes you lose some time on. As a high schooler I read to kill my boredom during classes and if you are like me and has nothing better do to, this novel is for u

Since I haven't finished the novel yet I CAN NOT write a ful rewiew, but I will write what I can:

The protagonist is really interesting and, as a newcomer in the world of novels, I thought seeing how the battles and the challenges that the MC had... more>> to overcome pretty well writen

The friends of the MC are well writen as well, but the major problem is that the secondary characters are not well developed and I really can't care about then.

that's it! The rest I think it's really interesting

I did enjoy the premise and enjoyed reading this, but I wish the author hadn't fallen to the pressure to make a harem... or at least kept the harem to a reasonable size. Not to mention that the ending wrapped up almost everything and then suddenly added a mystery that never gets resolved. It's somewhat disappointing because even plot holes from comedic elements planted early on in the story had been addressed and handled. It's a relatively sloppy ending in almost every way compared to the rest of the story.... more>>

Just WHO IS Min Ha-Yul??? I think a chapter about the 'recorded gods' was left out somehow. The epilogue felt cut short and this missing piece was likely meant to tie together the rest of the short stories.

First of all, I want to emphasize that I didn’t hate this novel which is why I was so disappointed. Maybe the beginning of the end is when the protagonist Yu Ilhan was the obvious loophole of being concealed from the eyes of god and left behind then much later in the story the MC gets seen through even after he upgrades several folds his concealment by a 4th class which isn’t even a higher existence yet. Seeing him train on earth was honestly nice and I personally like active... more>> protagonists but that’s basically it. The protagonist likes to believe he’s a loner but he’s just lazy he doesn’t like to deal with people. The novel is really repetitive grinding, crafting, and disasters only MC can solve. I somehow got through the elementary school humor and tr*shy monster description (At one point in the novel a monster in a dungeon the MC phrased his fear they would get copyrighted as it resembled Pidgeot *cringe*). I don’t like how the MC is oh so smart (Yu Ilhan predicts the plot to the point of omniscience) and everyone else is a total idiot and hot blooded including the harem of girls who fall for him for no reason. Another reason I dropped this novel was because Yu Ilhan’s personality gets progressively worst at the beginning he had heaven pay up rewards for stepping up to protect earth then he begins to massacre his enemies at the root without regards to the truth since after all (spoiler alert) he can ask dead souls. This novel was too disappointing even though I had intended for it to be a light read it was too much for me to handle. Too much OP, plot armor, dull humor, and a plot with no direction. I tried really really hard but I think this is it. I’m out guys. If you want to read over mindless OP leveling then this is the book for you. <<less

This is surely one of my favorites. Strongly recommended.

Although it is a bit lacking in the romance department. What can you do about it? It's the trend for Japanese or Korean novels to have dense protagonist right?

I loved this.

Although I'm still a novice and haven't read that many novels yet, this is still the best among those that I've ever read.

I don't like harem but most good novels like this have harem so I somehow cope with it but this, the harem in this, I actually quite enjoyed it and I don't find the concept of everyone falling in love with the strongest to be unnatural.

The creation part was indeed a little boring and I skimmed through most of it but it's obvious that they were... more>> necessary. If the author had just went, "so he decided to make this, a month later he was done with the God ranked artifact".... yes, it'd have been weird.
Spoiler

There were also many important realizations mixed in seeing that the end goal was "Creation"

[collapse]

I'm a lazy who likes everything easy and hates hard work. So yeah, my favorite part was the ending. My worst enemy in stories have always been foreshadowes and the way they were destroyed by Yu Ilhan was the most satisfying thing to read ever.

Though there was one thing I hated, WHY WAS PATE NOT TAKEN IN THE HAREM!? I mean, I like that he got a wife of his own at the end but I hate the fact that he was not a part of the harem just because he's a man. And I know he isn't in love with his wife and that hurts so much. I can't be happy like this.

But overall, I loved it. I know I can't get yaoi everywhere. <<less

Note: From my perspective, this is one of the books I had the most fun reading, however I can completely agree with people that have lower ratings because this book is very generic. It didn't have a really strong plot so it kinda just went wherever. The MC was super generic, being a guy that just one-shots things and is s*upid broken. Also, a harem that I am not really a fan of. However, despite that, I really did enjoy the read because I enjoyed the crafting aspect and seeing... more>> the new characters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I was on a search over this 6-month break of school (due to a world-wide circumstance at this time) to find a novel that was like solo leveling. I was a fan of the whole dungeon in our world with the whole environment changing to everyone. I like the idea that humans need to adapt to a new situation all at once. I also used to read a lot of CN novels about cultivation which included stuff like alchemy (which is one of my most favorite things in books). I finally fell upon this book.

I really enjoyed this book, and its one of those books that I wish I could read again without knowing the contents already. I personally think its a story that can really only be read once. I plan to read this in a few years once I forget the story so I can hopefully enjoy it again.

The crafting aspect in this game is very MMORPG like and I really enjoy seeing that. I just liked how he got stronger as he was crafting. Making a whole load of cool stuff that generally was s*upid overpowered for what he was. Yes, its kinda dumb but I still enjoyed it despite knowing that. This story did make a generic overpowered character but for some reason I still could enjoy this story a lot.

One thing that pushed me on to read this story was the characters. No I dont mean the character development. Its just girls falling in love with this one dude that keeps getting stronger. Thats not what got me into reading more. Its what happened after. I liked to read how they interacted (not grew but interacted) with eachother, and each one has somewhat of a personality. I was always curious to what would happen to all of these people at the end of the book. Thats another part that got me reading more.

I really liked the end of the book. It was a hell of a ride. Something I expected but still overall enjoyed seeing the ending because it was kinda adorable I guess? Those sidestories at the end too I absolutely loved them. Maybe more than the actual story itself.
Spoiler

The soccer one with the kids is one that I really liked lmao.

Also finally seeing all the characters drawn together at the end made me really happy. It was nice to see an actual visualisation of all of them together. <<less

I gave it five stars cause I didn't drop it. The story was actually kind of unexpected, I thought it would be emotional cause of how he's a loner but it's actually about how he stopped being loner, somehow.

I'm sad that I couldn't find enough fanarts to base my imaginations on ?. But regardless, this novel was descriptive and some might find it a bit boring because our MC is a workaholic but if he had taken it easy then he wouldn't have survived until the end.

The novel's quite funny... more>> cause the MC is like us, the readers, who comments on the actions that the MCs of the novel do that isn't really necessary.

I personally believe that the only reason he was ok even after the 1000 yrs alone is because he is used to being alone? And if it was another person, that person would have definitely lost their mind.

i like the different personalities of Ilhan's harem, they are all unique and easy to distinguish. I think the harem wasn't pushed, like it was really natural for them to like Ilhan because of what he is doing. The romance also wasn't pushed, it was given the right amount of exposure to let readers know that our MC is still human after all.

i honestly binge read this for like a hundred then stopped for a few days and decided to binge again then stop again, I was honestly surprised I didn't drop it but thinking about how far i've come, I wanted to see the ending.

i think I had stops because it was too light hearted. I came from OVR, and that sh*t just had me crying at midnight and compared to OVR, EER is really light hearted.

Overall, I am gonna miss Yu Ilhan's gang and their comedy scripts. Dragon's Nest till the end ? ❤️ <<less

This is basically a Fantasy novel written in a Cultivation novel style. So if going in with that idea and you will be fine.

The MC is OP, plot repetitive, power-up outof nowhere,... Sound familiar right?

Let ignore that and just embrace that first most important 1000 year. Most romance is at best in the hundred, so when the two spent 1000 year together they know so much about each other and start loving each other so much is the obvious and when it happen it is so great. The author not... more>> even need tell us when or how, just at some point we can see the love in their speak and when they are force to part. It was a great novel up until chapter 225 after that I noticed it was getting even more repetitive I mean it was in the first place him being repetitive and winning but it was mostly always a close match whenever it was a big fight though even then I noticed it I have no problem what so ever with the story, writing, and or etc. The only problem I have is that its a bland book I know he is supposed to be overpowered but I mean uts just... more>> to repetitive good book but work on the repetitive writing good work though <<less

An entertaining Isekai/Reverse-Isekai (I dunno), with Yu Ilhan being the most overpowered MC imaginable, outside of a Xianxia novel. Beyond the ridiculously hype action moments, as our planet Earth begins to experience various degrees of accelerated cataclysmic events, I took great pleasure in the gear progression. As Yu Ilhan's crafting becomes more and more extravagant. So far this is one of my favourite crafting novels, as it's one of the few I know of that go through the whole process (gathering, dissembling, processing, tailoring/smithing & finally mana-crafting/enchanting).

Would have been graded... more>> an "A+" if it wasn't for all the pop cultural references and its dreadful ending. Because of that and some other minor annoyances, it drops to an "A-". Definitely one of the few Korean novels that's easy to recommend and it is one I enjoy re-reading. <<less
