When I woke up after a pretty crappy death, what greeted me was one of those famous fantasy worlds! I didn’t expect anything like becoming the strongest with a common job, or rising to the top with the weakest class…

All I wanted was to live a slow farming life, but the world just wouldn’t leave me alone! And so I equally backstabbed good people and bad people alike, becoming a villain with a true sense of equality and just when I was about to retire and enjoy a proper life on a farm…

“Master!”

My former disciple at the evil organisation, currently the hero of justice came looking for me. Can’t you all just leave me alone?

So far, this is following the original pretty closely. I'm looking forward to the changes in future chapters and, of course, to the completion of the series. This is laugh-out-loud hilarious with its ridiculous over-the-top scenarios of training from Hell--and the personality changes that result for those who survive.

This novel is sooooo crazy, it's so crazy that nothing made sense at all! But it's crazy good!

All the students taught by the MC turns out to be a monster, but that's relatable considering what he put them through. The MC would put them through life or dead situation (though he wouldn't actually let them die), breaks their common sense, and flip their sense of moral all over the place.

Everyone taught by the MC is so crazy that it's funny. Any virtuous person taught by him would turn crazy and... more>> wouldn't hesitate to betray their own friends and do many unspeakable things at a moment's notice. They would fight their friends over food, turn traitor over one day off from school, brutally beat up their teacher just to escape from the "silver devil", everything is just so crazy and that's what makes this series so crazy good!

If there is one thing I have to complain, it's that after chapter 105, there's still no traces of any "Hero" and the MC seems to be running more from the "Princess" than it is the "Hero". <<less

These days the "comedy" tag doesn't guarantee one the experience of comedy. I enjoy laughing at jokes as much as the next bloke, but despite that I personally find it really, really challenging to find myself laughing at Asian WN/LN that supposedly got tagged with "comedy". Despite how interesting or entertaining an Asian WN/LN is, their "comedy" hardly lands.

Now it might had to with difference of what is considered "hilarious" between cultures. So I can't blame these authors for writing jokes that just can't land. Comedy is subjective, anyway.

But this... more>> piece of work is something else.

As much as I regret that I didn't read the original, I can see where the author is taking the story with this remake. Perhaps he always meant that the MC is just a frame to the story. The true story the author was trying to tell is the lives of the people (un) fortunate enough to be assigned under MC's tutelage and how he had affected their lives. It makes sense that the POV changes a lot. It is meant to chronicle their instead of his story.

Now, comedy is a hit or miss thing. The comedy in this story don't always land. And I agree with one of the reviewers in that one of the particular running gag is currently dangerously overplayed (the metal bat joke). But here's the reason for my high rating:

The jokes here tend to catch you off guard. The wackiness. The sheer amount of lack of common sense. The hyperbole. The trolling. Sometimes you see an attempt by the author to make you laugh and it didn't land, only for you to lower your guard and then a random sentence out of nowhere delivers the punchline and you will find yourself chuckling-------- at the bare minimum. An extremely rare feat in my book.

Just don't take the story too seriously and you'll feel a lot better every time you finished reading bits of this lighthearted literature. <<less

Great story but a bit repetitive. The escapes are also very entertaining.
Spoiler

Im a bit sad that he didn’t end up with the imperial princess, and the story had an open ending. His reason: marrying her is troublesome, but doesnt realize that it is even more troublesome if he keeps escaping with all the bounties on his head

I seriously hate when people are jealous of others relationships and beat the guy or other crap.

First of all, I was really enjoying this novel, it was quite fun and the characters where interesting, but all went to hell when the school arc started. I wanted to see the characters I care about but they just disappear and we just get a few lines on their situation, then the MC went overboard with his new students and you start to dislike him, the new characters are bad in general and... more>> some I even came to hate like Risen, the goddess Athena was my favorite character and she has very few interactions. Even so is boring as hell, just a little fun times between all that repetition of torturing the students, I just wanted to see the old characters and the author keep doing the same crap over and over again, and when they finally appear, this shit.

Spoiler

My limit was when that piece of sh*t Risen destroyed the relationship of the President of the student council just because of jealousy, and the only decent character I care about this tr*sh arc that was about to beat the sh*t out of the Vice president Risen is conveniently being "brainwashed" for the plot and to keep the "comedy".

I can't say that it was a waste of time because I really enjoyed the first arc, but when I spend most of my time waiting for No. 1000, No. 1 and No. 17 to show up and the MC to be caught by the princess, there's no way I would keep reading after getting angry. <<less

Magnificent, magnificent. Why can I make this story slip after all these years. My review is a bit different than other but man, my first impression is this novel is great. While people complaining about the pov changes, I feel this is a great move made by author. People that can't comprehend simply don't fit to read complex novels which f*ck up your mind every now and then. Seriously, it is not hard to digest at all. We have an event, an then many characters show their reaction and feeling... more>> toward that events. And because of that, for a really short amount of time, we can understand many chars's personalities and traits quickly, and they are truly intersting people (twised maniac+twised location make you laugh your ass off). Since many people say that the story get better after that pov change (which is already amazing), I think you should try this and ignore thoes negative review.

Edit: after reading chapter 118

Still very good. Author seems to be heavily inspired by japanese novel (with 80% of the references being japanese novel, manga and anime). The super long chinese like fight scence can be boring at time but still acceptable.

The first 100 chapters could have jp title, which the one I come up with is: "I reincarnated as a demonic lolicon teacher getting chased by yandere". <<less

The best way I can describe this novel is: Konosuba humor and wackiness, combined with Youjo Senki narration and atmosphere.

Be warned: There are a lot of Characters and POV swaps. Therefore I highly recommend writing their names down, simply because the Author and/or Translator is somewhat vague on indicating who is talking to who. (Usually, you'd see the speaker's name before or after their text bubble).

One key quirk that happens often is that a dramatic scenario will repeat, indicating some POVs are swapped; all in order to get the reactions... more>> of all people involved on the scene.

tl;dr, the cast is colorful and very energetic. You might get lost/confused a lot with how this novel is formatted. 5 stars, because I'm having fun reading it. <<less

Always a pleasure to read. Very similar to the the previous version, but different enough to enjoy and plot holes are filled in nicely. Read this book.

Certainly this is unique and original story of otherworld type novel. There's no bullsh*t about tales from baby, just to the point. Our MC are like a villains mentor who really doesnt think he's fit a role to be villain, yet others know him as most as*hole villain person ever. Other character are interesting and funny too, especially his disciple.

Setting are clear, yet the target of story still unclearly hillarious. The pace are random, but isnt confusing. World building still vague, but I think its just not describet yet. I'm... more>> really enjoying this novel, so really recommend when you need a fresh story. <<less

Somehow I can't rate it to full stars. Sad.

? Am I the only weird guy to ever try to finish this? Bruh. That asides, I don't know much about these boring same repetitive stuff or how about these plot holes and all but the only thing I have a problem is the harem tag which is not by the MC but at student council president Nerkia so it's fine.

Is the title really running away from the hero? 'Cause it looks more like running away from the world to me.

This guy... more>> is a legend at running away. Reincarnated or not running female protags from another novel should copy how this guy could avoid the whole empire, demon king, elves, op disciples, crazy females and heroes.

Although he doesn't have mana and can't do magic, he had been given the tools to do that such as the legendary metal bat and the wooden bat, being a talented swordsman and somehow, being abnormal that affects people to go crazy, poor guys fighting the demon king while him eating popcorn.

He disguises as different people and knows much about things. You can call him as rather fortunate or unfortunate.

I started reading the first version before going here so you might as well do that to understand first parts then come back here and read from the very beginning since it's changed.

Mmmm... Multiple POV's? Don't worry 'bout that. There's a: 'Their Story: A warrior's reason' added at the beginning.

The school arc's boring? Dunno why, their preference maybe?

It's just hilarious because of mc's odd reasoning. Not really thinking this is the best of the best but I can say for now this is my first time seeing an MC good at escaping and funny. <<less

I thought this was going to be great especially with the high ratings and I did enjoy the 1st arc but after that I already feel signs of decline. The reason being the fact that my enjoyment only came from his 3 current students No. 1, 17 and 1000, anything that doesn't involve them was boring even the MC despite being different from other MC's with the same genre. The moment they were gone, I started to just skim through the following chapters, it gave me hope of at least... more>> one of the three to be included in the next arc only to be met with disappointment. Another thing is that this novel's main selling point is comedy (which uses the same jokes too much that it starts to get annoying) and nothing else. Yandere+Multiple POV looks like the combination of tags that I would definitely enjoy but this novel just doesn't do justice to any of those tags. Yanderes aren't interesting by just knowing they are crazy b*tches, they are interesting when they are double-edged swords, when their mentality is thoroughly explored, and when they constantly make you uncomfortable while reading building up to when their pent up emotions break loose. Here? They feel like 3rd rate villains from cartoons who do evil things because they're evil. Multiple POV should make me feel like I'm reading multiple characters story while interconnecting with each other as the main story, but instead of that I feel like I am reading the diary entry of each person since most of the time it doesn't hold on to a character's POV enough for it to mean something.

Spoiler

Though it did try to explore on a bit with the 2 yanderes in the story, it didn't do a good job at it. Ria's (one of his students) story of how she is yandere for MC can be summed up by saying "she is crazy" and nothing else, basically the equivalent of just because. The imperial princess had a more interesting reason by showing her past and seeing MC as the only one with color but that side story didn't explore how she became how she is today, it only held on long enough to inform you that it was MC who thought of the strategy the empire has been using for their battle mages, a fact something we can easily know by just thinking a bit even without the side story

Definitely a good read and has its moments of brilliance, although wasted opportunities make my heart ache

Spoiler

Like absolutely s*upid mini arc about madness at president takes like 1/5 currently translated chapters

The fin of second arc (school) is simply disgusting.

And if translator's words to be belived next mini-arc's potential will be wasted too.

I'm honestly glad that the author decided to remake the original. This is definitely one of the best stories to read if you are looking for humor. The translator is doing pretty good job and MC is NOT like one of those usual light novel protagonists who seek out harem. In fact, the MC runs away from his potential love interests due to the fact that they're yandere and crazy as hell.

I always feel much better after reading an update. If you are feeling down, just read this story!

To be honest, the first one is a masterpiece, although I understand that making the sword master a reincarnator is a mistake and so author decided to redo it.

But this version is a mistake, it's full of fillers, the magic from the first one is gone, its been a hassle to read each chapter now, unlike before I would have wanting more, now I just want the arc end.

But I liked the princess flashback side story, I wish that one was longer instead of the school arc. And know more... more>> about how the military suffered through the wooden bat as well. <<less

I read a lot of crappy stories. Slogged through a valley of silicon. Climbed fictional peaks with heroes. Raised slime to wage war. Race cars and heat bath water. All in the same day.

However most of those stories are okay. This is great. This is gold. I'm happy when I finish a chapter.

I don't believe there are many out there with this quality.

This novel is a sadistic slapstick comedy in its full form! The protagonist isn't your usual protag, who become fodder with woman who love him. Instead, he make them to become fodder to his weapon! A slap and they will be obedient. That's his style of teaching!!

In other words, think of Super Sadistic Kazuma from Konosuba without his companion. And he is sadistic to everyone. That's the MC. A laughter inducing Novel.

I thought the point of a remake was to make it better... honestly this is just worse. The humor is more forced, the story much slower and more drawn out, and just more time is wasted everywhere. It feels like the author had too much fun rewriting his original plot that he forgot to factor in how the pacing worked well in the original, and making more of it will ruin that.

Man I wish he'd have just kept going with the original.

It's funny, really.

However, the story's progress is so damn slow. This is because the change in POV is so frequent, that 1 scene took like 3 POV or so. There are times when you want to read every single letter, yet there are times when you want to just skip a chapter (or more).

If you're quite patience, you might enjoy reading it. And if you leave the novel in the middle, and then return after a long time, you'll be very confused. Since there are so many characters to keep... more>> track, and they use "certain (occupation/status) POV", it just became more confusing.

If you can, unless you have a very good memory, read as much as you can without changing to other novels.

Other than that, the story is decent, not the worst, not the best. Sometimes when it's funny, it's really funny. You might find the MC's personality quite annoying, though. If you like action packed stories, definitely not for you. <<less
