Had always enjoy these type of BL novels. This one in particular mix horror extremely well together. I felt shivers every time I read some certain scenes. The romance between MC and ML was rather sweet and cute (to me though) which also help relief some tensions. Ahh even our side couple was adorable!

It has a great start for me since it seems like we can already see some of the personality of both the MC and the ML even though we are only on the first chapters.

I can't exactly say the overview much but it goes like this;

Spoiler

its about a young man suddenly waking up in a closed room with a note saying to escape the room within an hour and a consequence of death if not done. After escaping, our MC came to know that its not done yet and it will happen again in another 10 days time and will happen again and again. He also came to know that there are other people like him called players in this death game

Now where he met our ML (?) was at his first chamber and was called by the other players as "stalkers" which is a type of monster place inside the game

Yeah... Its actually generally okay but FYL is so annoying that I had to drop.

Useless character, not only in the sense that he serves no purpose, but also because he cant do anything - the only reason he exists is to give MC a reason to struggle and need MLs help. (and because Author decided her first couple was too "manly" - gotta have the weak generic shou have a gong too ofc)

All FYL does is act cute and be a damsel in distress, and hes always f*cking there. MC gets like no scenes without him either being mentioned constantly or being right next to him or in his arms or someshit.

I genuinely expected him to be a throwaway cannon fodder but nope, hes still alive and still... more>> constantly being an annoying little shit.

Author wanted to write a "cute but useless" MC so bad she made FYL and gave him the honorary MC tag lmao. <<less

So this is one of the rare few horror survival themed bl novels that I really enjoyed. It was so good that I read went to read forward in the raws.

Has power couple pairing and the MC and ML are soo cute together. Big feels moment at chapter 81+.

I urge readers to not compare this to The world is online cause tbh Escape the infinite chamber focuses more on the r/s of the chars rather than coming up with these mind blowing mind games like TWIO. I love TWIO btw... more>> and highly recommend it for those that haven't read it yet. ≪3

So if you like horror survival theme novels give this novel a try, why not right? <<less

I really enjoyed this novel! The MC wasn't an idiot and the horror aspect was played out pretty well in my opinion. There were some nice plot twists and the story made sense for the most part. I read the tags beforehand, so new what I was getting into, but if I had to list a complaint, it would be in regards to the r*pe part ... more>>
Spoiler

my issue wasn't so much with the scene itself (it was pretty much skipped over) but the couple as a whole. MC's bestie gets r*ped by this dude and after that, for the rest of the book, I couldn't bring myself to like the guy. He never seemed apologetic about it, just was sorta protective of bestie afterward? He was sort of an ok dude towards the end, but he never really redeemed himself for the awful first impression. Even after you find out their past, it just still didn't really make it up for me.

[collapse]

As for the MC/ML interactions, I love how kinda scary and awkward they start out, but kind of adorable they get later.
Spoiler

I also really love how there's a couple chapters where you can see the ML's POV and you can see, it wasn't the stereotype "I see this person and immediately want to love/protect them for eternity". No, he straight up tries to mu*der the MC when they meet. The reason he didn't? Curiosity. Its because of that curiosity he gave the MC a chance and that's how the feelings started, which I found much more believable.

All and all, nice story, nice characters ('cept one dude), and nice well rounded ending. <<less

I loved this book to pieces! It's become one of my personal favorites. I actually made an account just so I could review this masterpiece. Shigure Haku's review is spot on, and this book really is that 'one in a thousand'. I can't praise this book enough!

I feel like this book just gets better and better as it goes on. I found the MC super likable. He goes through so much and it is really cool watching him grow as a person throughout the story. The side characters are fantastic... more>> as well.

The ML may seem op in the first half of the story (which he admittedly is) but as the story progresses that role changes. He starts to fill more of a supportive role later on instead of the main fighting force. He supports the MC through and through and their relationship is really sweet.

This book is a horror mystery at heart. I see the story as a big puzzle that begins to piece itself together after every ark through the MC. You start to realize things that you never even considered. Minor details become major plot points. You begin to change your opinions on characters as the story progresses. You may hate a character one minute and love them the next.

This story really makes you think and I feel like I would need to read it all over again in order to catch all the details I missed. There is so much thought that went into this book and I think it's a shame that more people haven't read it yet. If your on the fence about whether or not to give this book a go I highly recommend that you do it.

I came into this book for the horror and stayed for the plot. 10/10 Masterpiece! <<less

PLEASE HEED THE TAGS.

I stopped at Ch100 and skipped to the end because I realized what the ending of the novel was leading to and I was unfortunately correct. It's not a happy end, I don't know how anyone can look at it and go "mmm, perfect!"??? I absolutely hate these types of endings, its so cheap and completely invalidates everything the characters did to get up to that point. Finding an interesting novel and getting that sort of ending, just makes me feel like I just wasted my time.

There... more>> is definitely r*pe in here and the happy ending is definitely not a thing? And I'm just??? How does this have positive reviews???

The happy ending is:

Spoiler

They literally just go back in time and "Use the power of space" to delete the secret chambers??? Everyone loses their memory except the ML because he's too OP or something, so he goes and meets the MC early. Like, when he's 10. MC loses his best friend of 20 years, they never meet, because the best friend gets into an abusive relationship??? Even though he is actually being physically attacked he keeps dating this guy and even after he gets out of it he still calls him over and I'm just like are you actually serious?!?!?

MC joins a thing and starts working on a videogame that is similar to how the secret chambers were originally created and seeing how the author likes to end things I wouldn't be shocked if it was a time loop and they actually brought it back.

[collapse]

For the r*pe warning:

Spoiler

In the original timeline ML r*pes the MC, there is bleeding and tearing, and the MC's best friend actually gets r*ped while he is literally dying of blood loss by the guy who stabbed him earlier, who is a literal serial killer, who later becomes his abusive lover in the happy ending as well? What?

[collapse]

Really though, read something else, maybe? "My Husband is Suffering from a Terminal Illness" and "Misplacement Game" are excellent and "Kaleidoscope of Death" is basically this novel but better with a healthy happy relationship between the main paring - with an ending you can actually enjoy. <<less

A foolish, childish novel that’s desperately trying to masquerade itself as something cleaver. Even if you ignore the controversial, somewhat problematic relationship, the writing and the story itself is utterly boring. It gives the overall impression of being written by an ignorant teenager. I would not recommend wasting your time on this.

Truthfully speaking, I was very hesitant to start this. Because it has mentions of r*pe and pedophilia.

I've been avoiding this since I discovered it but looks like fate have some other plans for me.

I read it yesterday and I finished it just a while go.

... more>> Story Development – 5/5. It was amazing! The Author did a very good job at this one. It was executed nicely.

At some point, you'll be very much confused. And maybe irritated, if you have anger issues like me.

But don't worry, all of it will be explained as chapters passed by. It would be explained clearly and in a detailed manner.

Character Design – 10/5, I LOVE IT!! At first I don't like Ah Jian because he seems like the type of protagonist who'll remain weak. But I didn't expect that HE WOULD DEVELOPED WAYYY MORE BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.

I also love Ah Lan, he's not the protagonist nor the male lead but you won't be able to forget him. He's Ah Jian's bestfriend.

Ah Jian won't be who he is today without Ah Lan. They're like soulmates but not in a romantic way.

For the male lead, Xing Yan, he definitely appeared unremarkable for me now. But I can't deny that he really love Ah Jian and tried to do his best.

World Background – 4.5/5. It was definitely great! I didn't expect what the stone chambers was. Because when you think of stone chambers, it would be definitely be ancient and old. I'm surprised it was quite interstellar and futuristic one.

I minus 1/2 point because the real world was not explored that greatly. But I think they would in the sequel (?).

Translation – 5/5. Definitely very good and enjoyable. I even had times where I felt creepy while reading. Thanks for translating this! ♡ Writing Quality – Great! It was fun and definitely did a good job. Now I'm even more impatient for the sequel T■T.

My only advice is, if you want to enjoy this, move on just like how Ah Lan did. We're placed on different environment and so would our responses be.

Recommending cauz it was a great and very wholesome ride. THIS IS THE SIGN FOR YOU TO READ IT.

Enjoy~

See you later Ah Jian, Ah Lan. On the making of the holographic game!

And pls, hurry up on your chase Hong! <<less

If you expect something like, I Rely on Kisses to Clear Survival Games or I wasn't Born lucky then, this isn't the book for you.

The Translation was a 5/5. It was smooth and I honestly forgot that I was reading a translation. But that was as good as it get to me.

I wouldn't say that this book should be under the genre of 'Horror'. Or maybe a low horror. The type of horror that the character experience but not a reader could understand. I saw many comments about how other... more>> reader enjoy the chapter and the exciting scene. I can understand how it was exciting but I couldn't be excited.

It wasn't scary. It wasn't funny and it was especially difficult to read when you're expecting scary and a little bit of fun. The MC is a guy who sounds like a Gong. He was interesting at first. He was written to be a coward until a sort of power made him a badass... sort off. A Weak badass and that wasn't bad. The ML show up after several long chapter for a short scene before disappearing for several long chapters. The development is very slow.

MC is a shou.... probably.

Again I can see how it was good... but it wasn't something I was looking for maybe if someone ever tells me how it ends. <<less

It's... not that bad. I'm done with arc 3 and the story is fine so far. It's just that the shous, MC and his friend, seems like someone who accidentally dropped their brains when they were young. How can their alertness be so poor, especially Ah Lan!?

If it were me, in such a life-and-death situation, I wouldn't dare to be the slightest bit distracted, let alone make love or get intimate with my lover. This point makes me feel the story is rather ridiculous, even more ridiculous than the r*pe... more>> parts, to be honest.

Nevertheless, the plot has really caught my interest. Despite my reservations about the characters, I think I'll be able to finish it (hopefully).

edit : well, I finally finished it. 😣 The front half is a bit controversial, but the rest until the ending definitely deserves 4.5 stars. Although It feels like a completely different novel, I actually like it more (at least the MC and Ah Lan weren't as annoying and rage-inducing anymore). Although some of the plot points are utterly nonsensical, the overall story is still pretty good, especially the unraveling arc, which managed to subvert my initial impression of this novel.

In the end, I decided to give it a solid 4 stars, as I somewhat enjoyed it but don't see myself picking this up again anytime soon. <<less

This novel could have been great since the plot is good, unfortunately the characters the author portrayed ruined it. Let's start with MC and his friend, MC is not smart and for sure is not a calm protagonist MC (to the point I want to erase the calm protagonist tag), it's closer to MC being brave rather than calm or smart. Some might say the relationship between MC and his friend is very pure, not for me. At first it's shown that the two care for each other like brothers... more>> but later the author make a dialogue that pointed out MC has a little crush on his friend. And what I hate is how the author is describing his friend as a cute bubbly/cheerful personality and a damsel in distress. Their "friendship" is like a lover rather than a close brothers/friends to me.

As for the ML, it makes me want to ask the author is this their first novel or what? MC simply kissed him ONCE before he died and now ML is interested in him to the point of madly in love? ML must be single af to be like that.

As for the "horror" or "gore", I don't really feel it that much. Probably because I don't like the characters to the point even the scary vibe become bland <<less

To be honest, this one is not suitable for me, im too s*upid to understand the meaning and the IMPORTANT of the plot, also the reason why the story has to be told that way.

To tell the truth, I almost thought the MC in this story is 2 ppl. Not gonna lie some part make me think FYL is the MC while some part LJ is the MC.

From the summary, LJ is the MC but whatever. The more I read the more I hate FYL, he is pitiful at first... more>> but somehow idk why I get annoyed. Anyway, plz dont take to heart abt my complaint, like I said, im too s*upid to understand this story and wanna rant.

Im prob too spoiled of other type of novel with wholeheartedly (?) show full of MC @ ML opness, welp.

100000+ for our translator, you guys are really good.

But 3☆ I guess for the novel since I cant read it whole, I admit I skip to ending after the arc where they in loop train. I just cant use my brain that well haha. Im sorry <<less

Impressive. I am stunned.

Though, without a doubt, personally I loathe what the protagonist has become in the end, but it has valuable philosophical subtext, and that is very good.

Ascension comes at a cost. One should value their humanity.

Was it really horror?

Nah, imo the horror level of this novel was very low. It's a mystery novel, with a little bit horror taste.

Author truly enhance every character in this novel to their ultimate potential.

It's a good read.

This novel are really good. I am a big fans of horror genre and this just have a right amount of horror combined with romance.

Maybe my definition of romance is different from others though.

Anyway I know that some side CP here are totally unhealthy but still, good story nevertheless.

Crap. It was going so well. It's my fault, since I didn't read the tags carefully enough. I'm 28 chapters in, too.

Sorry, author and translators. It seems like it's a good story, but there's some things I really can't stomach.

Ignoring my bias against the r#pe tag, which is only fair since I didn't stick around to see how things concluded, 4 stars. Peace, homies, I'm out.

I was really loving this novel until the very last part but then I was not satisfied with the ending. Lots of questions still unanswered and it seemed like the whole character development we saw for MC and other characters was erased at the end?
Spoiler

The rewind on time made them forget their experience in the secret chambers and on one hand it's good they get to have a peaceful life (welp not ah lan) but on the other hand all those experiences also made them the characters that I actually loved. And I deeply miss that.

If the author wrapped this novel in a better way, this would be one of my favorites but there was huge disappointment because of the end. Regardless I don't regret reading this. I still like it. Abyss you were my favorite and I love you the most.

Your millage may vary but this is how I feel.

It's not a typical Infinite flow story. There are only a few but very long arcs that span various times and spaces.

To me it feels akin to LOST, a great story that didn't stick the landing and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. It's mainly a failure of expectations but about the halway point of the story (after Burial Grounds) you kind of realize it was headed for something like the brain twisty metaphysical ending we got.

It's a HE but... more>> I wasn't satisfied. But it's not a bad story. I give it 3.5 but it's 4 stars since we can't give halfies. <<less
