Wei Ying suffers under the hands of her step-family through paranormal means. She ends up returning to the past during her high-school period, along with Tang Yu her devoted beau. Although WY goes back to the past, she still suffers the consequence of her other life, displaying ghostly behaviour.

There are few plot holes and quite a few instances which I found illogical. The translations are okay, some grammatical issues. Generally the writing is pretty mediocre, not sure how much is the translation vs the author. Frankly, I'm surprised at how good this novel was (considering the mediocre translation).

We have a super cool OP "boyfriend-power" female MC:

  • She's a reincarnated "ghost" essentially, so she doesn't remember much human emotions or memories, but has incredible physical strength.
  • Problem solving (brainpower) skills are pretty much... nil, BUT punching enemies into submission is pretty entertaining.
  • Pretty much role-reversal with MC being physically stronger, with the self-cultivation system, gathering a bunch of loyal "ghost helpers, " and being firmly independent.
Tired of the yandere/possessive/tyrannically annoying ML molds?! You're in the right place.

ML is actually... more>> pretty original (despite hidden CEO/rich tyrant) background:

  • ML is the "brainiac" and "proper student" who is at first very skeptical of class troublemaker!MC
  • ML is the sensitive, nurturing, romantic one for the majority of the novel, essentially what we'd call "loyal dog ML"
  • ML is written hilariously realistic for a teenager (with all the teenager foibles of being a bit self-righteous, self-important, and skeptical of the "so-called wisdom" of older generations)
What we get is: Class Nerd!ML struggles with interacting with the Delinquent!MC (who isn't as delinquent as he first thought!). Their relationship is super funny, cute, and healthy.

  • Author was very good at integrating positive messages to readers and portraying positive/healthy relationships (VERY RARE in CN).
  • For example, ML fell for the MC way before she lost weight in her previous life (even though the MC didn't realize it) and was actually afraid that she was becoming too thin.
  • MC and ML tease/make fun of/get mad at each other, like regular people. Their interactions are super cute and not repetitive with cliche'd avowals of true love and sacrifice.
  • Very good character & relationship development (MC lost human emotions while ML struggled reverting back to teenager with no memories), and side characters are entertaining.
  • Well integrated and meaningful flashbacks + ghost humour
  • Actually does have an "environmentalist" spin. It's part of the comedic relief, but also part of the story's message.

  • Story wasn't long enough to have truly fleshed out side characters. So they're mostly there for humour/comedic relief/plot movement.
  • A few minor dropped plotlines for the side characters (but also leads me to wonder if there's a backstory or a shared universe novel written by the same author).
  • Both MC and ML's families have a screw missing. Literally both families had one wife/husband secretly kill their original spouse in order to marry a new stepmom/stepdad who is trying to get the inheritance of the MC/ML. totally cray ok (at least come up with two different backstories... ?!F)
  • Plenty of face-slapping (with those low-IQ one-dimensional villains) but I would have preferred to read more about fluff between the main couple instead.
  • REALLY would have liked some more domestic fluff after the MC/ML get together or extras after the ending, sadly there are none.

Overall a pretty great rebirth story revolving mostly around the last year of high school with a supernatural twist. There's a lot of content for only being 48 chapters. The big plot points and emotional points are well tied up, leaving readers with a happy and satisfied ending.

Random but I also just realized that there's a range of 'disabilities' of some sort: MC is overweight, ML is pretending to be crippled, and grandma is mute. The grandma is super precious and the only one who doesn't get 'miraculously' cured.

Translation seems to be hit/miss edited MTL. Also chapters were split into 2+ parts. As of chp 4 translation = chp 2 of the original story. I read the raws from chp 1. If you can't read the raws, the MTL should be fairly understandable.

There are a bazillion issues in just the first 4 chapters...

  • Ch3 - Only Mr. Tang, a rough man line, remained. - Totally wrong. What on this planet is a "rough man line"? It should be something like "straight man." Usually it's kind of an insult, like used in "straight man disease" etc.
  • Ch4 - the other male students did not care about the "mountain brother" who soared and fell. - "mountain brother" should be Shan-ge or brother Shan (Shan = mountain).
  • FYI Diexian is not "Dianxian" lol. Die refers to "disc/plate" because this (modern) ouija board uses a flipped disc as the marker. Also, the diexian has a name (Gu Heng), so it's better to translate it into "ouija spirit" or something similar.

Haven't finished it, but couldn't bring myself to read further.

Translation Quality - Similar to MTL

Writing Style - VERY dry and soporific; I had no emotional attachment to the characters at all. (You could kill the MC and the ML and I wouldn't feel a twinge of pain.)

World Setting - The cliche terrible stepmother and stepsister, the rebirth for revenge (not that I don't like it), and the system (power) level up through environmental protection.

Conclusion: If you care for quality of writing and attractiveness of story, don't read it. <<less

Let me use an analogy to describe what it felt like to read this story.

You're driving in a new car, the road is made of smooth pavement, and the summer sky is blue with wisps of clouds. Just one long straight road surrounded by green plains, a comfortable silence. The speed limit is 65 and you are driving 60, in no hurry to arrive you can relax as there is no one on the road except you. In short, it's a good day. You are enjoying the drive and begin... more>> to look at the lush trees in the distance *bump*... Huh? What was th.. *bump*... It doesn't matter, the road workers probably missed a few spots.

As you continue driving, you see the lush trees getting closer and closer. You wonder what kind of trees they are and if you will see any cute animals. Suddenly, the speed limit changes to 85 and you automatically go 80. When you realize the speed change was odd you have already passed the lush trees. The speed limit drops down to 75 and you go 70. Thinking back you find the situation odd, the road is still straight but the speed limit increased and decreased randomly? You weren't the one who built the road and decide to continue driving, pushing the doubt to the back of your mind.

Ah, you can finally see it. Your destination is in the far distance, it's the reason you chose to drive today, the reason you picked a new car to take, you look forward to arriving so much... that you miss the sign on the road that says speed limit 105, to which you automatically go 100. whoa Whoa WHOA! HOLD ON! YIKES! SLOW DOWN!! I SAID SLOW DOWN!! I WANTED TO WATCH THE SCENERY! EVERYTHING IS BLURRING! WHERE AM I?!

The speed limit only increases 110, 115, 120, 125. Then it stops and drops back down to 75. Shaken up and confused, you tidy your thoughts and look at your surroundings. Back when the speed was increasing the road seemed to have.. forked into two roads and you shifted directions. Your destination has changed but you are still willing to drive, you did not know your destination before and now that it has changed... it doesn't matter too much. While you are collecting your thoughts, you hear a giggle from the back seat. You whip your head around and see a little bright blue baby wearing a convenience store tr*sh bag around its waist. What the duck? Gates of hell bullshit... You are confused. Very confused. You knock your head twice and realize you aren't dreaming. You resign to the situation, turn your head back to face the road, and continue driving while listening to the giggling in the back seat.

Well, I've decided to end my story there. I suddenly experienced writer's block and cannot pump out the rest of the creative analysis for the time being. I'd rather not write nonsense just to finish the story.

Basically, you know the rollercoaster Test Track, the one from Disney World Epcot? Yup, lots of similarities. Honestly, I knocked my head twice when the author zoomed past all the 'cleaning up' details and landed at somewhat of a branch-off story. After that, the story's details were never the same. The author continued to create fun interactions between MC and ML only to leave the ends untied and my heart unfulfilled. Can you imagine? Such a juicy situation was suddenly taken out of the frying pan and served half-raw. It could have been cooked longer, the feelings could have simmered and the flavor could have intensified. But serving such a good situation half-raw? Lawless author. I ate too many half-raw situations, not even half-baked, half-baked is for the people that say 'the glass is half full'. The glass is half empty here, half-raw.

This is a fun fantasy story, but the quality went to sh*t towards the end. The story started noticeably speeding up, MC became Popeye, 18-year-old ML drifted to the clouds, characters were popped-off like kernels in a microwave popcorn bag. Well, at least the author is considerate enough to hand out closure, they really just slapped the characters away though. Let's hope the author isn't transmigrated into their own novel, MC would beat them. <<less

Another reviewer described this story as a car ride that gets more and more exciting

I disagree, if this story was a car ride, it would be a ride across a flat plain. Occasionally, you pass a field with cows, or a field of corn, but mostly it is you, your car, and fields for hours and hours

I felt no tension, no drama, everything progressed as it should in the story until the end

The story isn’t bad, it isn’t great, it just is

this is a read for when you are bored and have nothing to do. The story was okay but there were some plot holes that didn't get closures. Or some of the big problems got solved rather quickly with no details.

also the the ending was disappointing, not gonna lie. Thought they would show us the future life as a couple, wedding or future kids.

also they don't tell you what happened to the reincarnated ML, he just sort of disappear near the end.

This novel has so many appearances in different people's reading list, so I jumped into this thinking I'll be able to read something fantastic. I don't know why they think this is a good one lol it's so boring. I was being kind with the 3 stars, it's only up to 2 stars to be honest.

First of all, the plot of this story is a flat line. No ups and downs, just flat. Even the supposed climax of the story was very lackluster. Everything about its plot is mediocre at... more>> best. I really persevered to finish the story because maybe it will get better and I'll be able to find what others found in this story. Sadly, that is not the case. The story is flat up to the end.

The best part in this one is the budding romance between MC and ML, but even then it's not remarkable. You can read better romance stories. If you came here for the fluff, well there's not enough fluff in this one. For comedy, it's not funny. It's definitely weird and MC is what you would call an oddball, but it's just not funny. I think the only genre it really embraced was the Supernatural one. <<less

3 Stars: Starts out solid with some problems, fades towards the end

The MC she's a load of fun. Has a completely different take on she gets her second chance and will make you laugh. Lets just say she's been dead awhile and is having trouble getting used to being alive again.

The other characters are equally fun. The ML is truly a joy to read. His relationship with the MC is complex and difficult.

There are other characters that are developed fully with just their name. Vengeful Internet Ghost, is a great... more>> example. I am sure we have all run into her on the net.

The characters really do carry this novel, and they have work to do.

The writing is often painfully simplistic, and the plot while delightfully dogblooded just loses steam as it goes.

Bottom Line: A pretty good read with some problems that may or may not be deal breakers for you. <<less

It was so funny. I really laughed at how Wei Ying conquered those ghosts and etc. This is really funny. It was also a nice story. I like how OP Wei Ying is. I like how loyal Tang Yu is. Everyone kind of turned to "Wei Ying's Fans", even went as far as to call her Brother Ying. Because she was so cool and beautiful.

This is a nice story. If you want to read something light and humorous then this one is for you. There's revenge yeah but it isn't... more>> heavy like the other revenge stories here in NU. Thank you to the translator for translating this! Very much appreciated! <<less

This is so freaking funny, the MC is a black belly that has her memories a bit disruptive and most of her emotions were like locked down because she's not a human. Something like a ghoul (since she's a ghost but has a special consitution that makes her like a human)

She eats the haze or black essences of the world since she cant eat normal food. (Later on she can)

Her stomach is a pit (eating 10 packets of noodles, 10 steaks, emptying the ingredients of the restaurants from... more>> eating etc etc)

The interactions between her and the ML is so cute. Oh how I wish comeone could love me the way the ML loves the mc

Story: 4/5, it's alright, I like the set up, it's creative, nothing crazily good but the idea was alright. There are no really big obstacles and it's basically a really easy read.

Translation: 4.5, the translation was completely understandable, I don't understand the criticism in these reviews, there were only a few visible mistakes but you can still understand it. I honestly love this translator, their translations are always interesting and very fast. I'd take speed and completed novels over flawless writing.

Environment execution; 2/5 and I'm being generous for including environmental protection in a novel, but boy was the execution done poorly. I understand one can't maybe go against big corporations in China idrk, like I understand if the author wanted to play it safe but still, the FL have talks about the environment, made an environmental company, represented the country as an environmental ambassador and for what? For picking up tr*sh and separating it by wet, dry, and harmful. Even celebrities that get environmental promoting gigs spread more helpful things that that... They painted picking up tr*sh as something that would fix the earth's environmental problems. It's giving fossil fuel companies that promoted plastic recycling to make it seem harmless. Never did the FL say to stop consuming so much to avoid tr*sh, nope, she'd go on talks about the environment (picking up tr*sh in particular) and then eat a bunch of plastic packaged snacks. She'd see how a whale was harmed by a fishing net and then go and eat a whole sushi restaurant (literally, she ate all of their food). Only once she talked about gas being bad, when she scolded her driver for driving in circles for a few minutes while she and ML kissed because he didn't want to interrupt, she scolded the poor guy and said it'd be taken out of his salary... all while she took lots of intercontinental trips and her ML went with her to support her modeling gigs, I mean I don't want to drag international models, but she's supposedly an environmental ambassador and she never really set a good example except for picking and separating tr*sh which was her whole thing,

Like I know it might not have come out from her heart but jeez, at least the author could've included other activities, at the end of the day it was an environmental protection company. And it's not as if the characters were painted as ignorant in the topic, the ML's family had an environmental protection company. It just didn't seem as if the author actually cared or knew about the topic, she just based the whole environment protection thingy on her own unresearched perception.

Anyway, I'm not gonna do the maths, I'll give this a 4 because the story is alright and I like the idea of it, it just could've been done better had the author actually known better about environmentally helpful things other than picking up tr*sh and separating it. Maybe I'm just taking this too seriously when it's just a dog blood supernatural web novel. <<less

First of all, the synopsis was misleading. Who the f is rich and fierce gangster? The ML wasn't like that at all. Be it his past or present life, he's clearly a "pretending to be a pig to eat the tiger" kind of ML. However, he was refined, albeit cold to others. There's really no fierce or gangster-like attitude. When I read the synopsis, I was expecting some hot-blooded ML but no, he wasn't.

Basically, the FL was reborn but she was a ghost amd the ML was also reborn but his is more like a split personality disorder tbh. So at first, it's kinda good. But then, after the said event, everything just suddenly became fast paced and the plot was messed up somehow. I don't know what happened to Tang Yu. He's an 18 years old teenager at day and a reborn 33 years old man at night and their distinction is very clear. But after that night, everything went haywire. Did the 33 years old Tang Yu overtook the 18 years old TY or did they merged? Then the rest was anticlimactic. Wei Rui, Liu Su, and Ning Hao's ending were really unsatisfactory. They badly messed up the FL's past life that led her to became a vengeful ghost yet they just end up like that? Or maybe it was too fast paced that I feel that it's anticlimactic? And then the romance between the two was actually sweet but again, after that night, it gave the feeling of being forced. The ML, the 18 years old TY, who's just falling in love with WY, suddenly became deeply in love with her. And the cold and goal-oriented WY, became familiar and coquettish to him. It was really all over the place that it gave a sense of inconsistency. But nevertheless, the translation was good so 6.5/10. <<less

Worth reading. The story has more to offer than the summary says. It is interesting, quite funny and short. A good break from "heavy" novels.

I had some issues about the story from the summary as I am fed up with Greta Thunberg and her fake pro-eco actions and luckily, the story didn't emphasise on fake care of the environment. It was mild and well ingrated into novel without being a pain.

Just some minor he/she mistakes due to it being Chinese in the original. Happened just a couple of times.

Plot: 7/10

+ ghost stories (FL is a reborn ghost which is a nice twist with variaty of comedic undertone)

+ FL is cold and has a reason for it (other than typical "I feel betrayed by the world)

+ good ML who is kind, caring and cold at the same time (I loved the changes between his day and night version)

+ nice side characters

+ a bit of drama and revenge. While it isn't the sole topic of the novel and the revenge is quite tragic and satisfying

+ short and fulfilling. Has a HE

- at a certain moment near the end (over chapter 80) the plot is visibly speeding up. For most of the story we have days/weeks and suddenly it turns out to couple of months in a chapter. The story could use additional chapters to balance the timeflow. Still, it doesn't disturb the reading flow. <<less

Ah, I'll be honest I feel generous with 3 stars. I really liked the concept: pretty girl who's life gets ruined by possession, gets sent back to her "ugly" period while still keeping her ghost behavior. ML's part of the summary wasn't accurate at all, sure he did a revenge kill but he wasn't a gangster nor did he actually threaten his classmates beyond glaring. He mostly did his best to help her even if his version of helping her is different than his adult soul. I liked that, that... more>> it wasn't ML just taking over his teen body but sharing it. The teen soul had to fall in love with her in his own way.

Unfortunately this really is low romance, like can you call it slow if it's one side on ML's part till nearly the end?? And even then it was just MC getting back her feelings from the past, not really falling for young!ML but for the older!ML. Like there wasn't a guarantee that ML's souls would mesh together or if the day & night thing was forever. Most of the romance scenes were all from their past life or one-sidedly by the old soul ML to MC.

The plot was low every time there was an obstacle, MC was like "I'm a super strong ghost, your powers can't do anything *smack* you're my underling now" there wasn't any tension, like okay you have a golden finger but this is just it underwhelming in most aspects and funny in a few. Basically everyone except the grandma, the best friend & ML's step brother were tr*sh. The speeches about cleaning the environment were cheesy af. MC was funny for a bit but I swear I was just done with her when

the revenge was meh. Mostly ended up with their enemies working under them like prisoners or in some form of jail or out of sight.

Also I can't tell how fat she was supposed to be, the translator used LB & KG interchangeably so it made seem like the characters were over reacting to a slightly overweight girl or an obese one. ML was actually really good about her weight and loved her when she was fat and thought she could be a little chubbier once she got very thin. MC was negative about her teen self if I'm honest. <<less

The story is predictable but the concept is mildly interesting. The FL is a reborn ghost who has to protect the environment in order to gain points and become more powerful. The character setting of the FL & ML are interesting. And the plot is clear, it's about environmental protection. The family background of the WeiYing (FL) is 90% similar with the FL from "After Transmigrating Into the Cultivation World, the School Topper Was Reborn". I like how the storyline isn't complicated & how cool + OP the main character is.

It's a pitty that there's a little hole in the plot which made me really curious.... more>>

In the story, it's said that Tangyu also got reborn at 18, but the 33yo Tangyu only come out after 10 p.m. Besides, the 18yo and 33yo Tangyu have no recollections about what the other did. However, towards the end of the story, especially after Weiying enter modeling, the story doesn't made any clear differences between the two. So, what happen to them? Did their soul got intergtated? Or does they finally have each other memories or what?

The translations (or the original writing?) is really so so (and the website was always lagging when I was reading) BUT...

I really enjoyed it. I mean.. no I did not because it was an annoying ride but I liked the plot and the characters.

It was pretty unique and MC was such a weirdo I could have enjoyed a story just about her. But the romance was also really sweet and the commitment of the ML was wooooow. It also opened a whole new world of ghost cultivation to me and... more>> I can't wait to read more of those. <<less

The plot is a bit weird but it's actually quite unique. I think the author is eager to promote environmental cause through the story and I think he/she does a great job.

Both ML and FL had a tragic past. They once fell in love and been together for years but suddenly forced to be apart by an evil scheme. Then both of them are sent to the past all over again to defeat the evil force once for all. And while at it, she exact revenge to all the people... more>> that make her suffer in the past life.

The face slapping is quite satisfying and I love how the story goes until:

That Xiahai case. I could still enjoy the story about ghost and whatsoever but merman and mermaid? And moreover, merman and mermaid's ghost who seek revenge to humanity because of water pollution? I think merman and mermaid in this story are out of place and make me reduce 1 star from my review.

The story was pretty ok. Not too much ups and downs and the humour was there but not the kind of lol humour. Liked the fact that the MC was OP to the point that she could kick a guy and he goes flying.

The major gripe for me was the translation and laggy website. (Altho I really thank the author for taking the time to do this)

Very much like an MTL read. There were alot of direct translations that was kinda hard to understand until you reverse translate it... more>> back to Chinese. Then you'll go "Ahhh. Now I understand.. " Or you could read the notes left by the translator at the end of the chapter.

Chapters were also very very short. Kinda irritating because the website is pretty laggy. It's like you need to go next page every 10 seconds but it take 15 seconds for the next page to load up. <<less
