I've been reading this novel for quite some time now and after reading up to the current chapters I'm finally going to drop it. It's been a fun ride while it lasted but there's really not much you can do when the premise is basically

-Li qiye travels to new place

-No one knows him

... more>> -He kills or insults someone

-Bigshots come after him

-Li qiye pulls off some s*upid shit

-Kills everyone in sect etc

-Rinse and repeat

Don't get me wrong the starting was pretty ok but when the same thing happens over and over albeit by different means it gets pretty stale later on. The author put the rule that no one can talk about the crow and stuff so that he can continuously face slap some young masters and while that may be fine the novel has gone on far too long than it should have. <<less

Milking!?- I don't think this word would suffice because it is an entire dairy right now.

Cliche to core every 200 chapters repeats itself though there are some changes but only in name mu become shu, shu becomes wu that's all.

There are bets with mu shu wu young arrogant masters at stone cutting arena or weapon subduing stages and same with their 'great' ancestors. It just repeats.

MC goes to new world he purposely destroys his cultivation " others may never do this but it was like passing dust for li qiye... more>> destroying his cultivation". Author exaggerates every step the MC takes " in this place even a progenitor level person would find it difficult but li qiye was taking a leisure stroll" "he chuckles eating the meat and drinking the wine not sparing any glances at all" so cool yaaay!

There aren't instances when MC is not looked down upon okay he may be so but when he counter attacks saying " thou shalt not know me but I am your ancestor" what a bull crap hypocrite he is. Why act high and mighty for last 2 chapters only. From the start he had ability to kill the strongest person around but naah who would do that let's stroll leisurely hiding your cultivation and fight teenage boys while chuckling.

He doesn't act his age goes around challenging young masters who are literally like teenagers and bets with them with life and later kills them, well who wouldn't take advantage of all knowing million year old brain to bully young arrogant masters.

A billion year old man getting provoked by some teenage kid.

There are many such instances the MC would hide his cultivation will roam around asking everyone to kneel in front and if they don't he kills them.

I remember an arc where the billion+ year old MC was acting like a debaucherous rapist, humiliating, harassing every girl or women in his way. There was a saint girl who was asked to marry him and looking at his cultivation plus his rapist face she actually said noo!! (Who won't?) But the MC went ahead humiliated her, almost r*ped her, killed many people of her sect albeit they got greedy but MC was the reason they did, he purposely lured them just to say cool statements "you are ants".

Such hypocrisy is in this novel I can't fathom.

Ladies- "you are my bed warming maid" yes yes!! They are your things great right! F*ckin loser this author is.

Ladies/faires/lolis fall in love with him without him doing anything "call me young noble from now and serve me so that I can make other teenagers jealous and kill them". What worse is the loser author makes the girls masochist nymphos for his love and after the arc he leaves them stranding "little girl if fate wills it so" after using them he gives such statements and vanishes.

Many instances he r*peS women and says it their honor and what's worse is the women gets lovestruck after getting r*ped what The BLOODY f*ck is wrong with everyone reading and praising this shit?

Billion year old pedo literally! Goes here and there harrassing and raping little lolis.

He created his body again but what a cruel luck he got his brain reverted back to 13 year old.

every man if not young arrogant master is an 100+ year old looking fogey every girl if not loli would be a jade beauty carved out of moon and MC himself looks like a stray mutt who eventually is "a frog eating a swan meat'.
Novel started with MC wanting to win the final battle heck in the latest chapter he is saying the same thing

there is nothing of suspense, okay people like arrogant domineering strong MC but he literally has no challenge he is that strong but every arc starts with a young beauty/loli stumbling and meeting someone (mc) 'fate' changing then they start serving (tea basically sometimes feat or face washing and masage) him because she can look in his eyes and tell how unfathomable or lovely he is and they find it equivalent to once in a life time opportunity (MC and author says so) then he meets young master and his arrogant companions who look down on him and then they get their ass beaten, MC lets them go so they come back with backup but dies this time with the backup then the father of the young arrogant master comes shouting "you little animal" he eventaully becomes meat patty then finally the ancestors turn but surprise they are weak as ant in front of MC after all this MC moves on to the next city the next loli the next arrogant master and so on. At first he did cultivate for a couple of chapters but the author had a change in mind and substituted cultivation with plot armor! From 10 to 4000 chapters it was all plot armor even after destroying his cultivation he remains the strongest what bull crap is this.

Meets his old friends or enemies" I'll go and definitely win" but he goes to new world destroys his cultivation comes back meets their descendants rinse and repeat.

I really don't understand how this novel got so many chapters of this repetitive shit? <<less

Well, originally I didn't bother too much on doing a review on this novel (actually any novel that I read), but I saw something intriguing upon reading some of the reviews, specially the negative ones, and I saw that one very common argument that the novel plot is not worked very thoroughly, or the battles are too cliched, I'm writing this review on how I see this novel.

first thing to note is the actual point on to why the author decided to write the novel the way it is, it... more>> is clear during the whole story, that the author does not focus on relationships between the MC and the side characters or the battles, so if you read the Chinese novels for these, you are going to be very disappointed, the very point of the whole plot is to not develop the MC from weak to strong, because it's pointless
Spoiler

MC is the teacher of tons of immortal emeperors (being said to be invincible in their universe) and other superpowers we see in the novel, só him being strong is just a matter of time

[collapse]
the author wants to slowly uncover how our mysterious MC is, from his personality besides his outer arrogant and powerful appearance, or his past deeds and painful memories, the whole story is revolving around what the MC did in the past and his actions in the present in search of the so wanted answer he wants from the heavens

the second thing is the is the actual relationships in the novel, as I said the author does not focus very much in this topic, but there are things that stands out, that is his past friends and lovers that is or might be alive in the era that he is in, for example
Spoiler

that middle continent princess, a past lover of his that he had to deceive because of how the Tian Ming era was dangerous, and Li Qiye had a job to do that was to eliminate the bloodthirsty ancient ming race from the nine worlds, but he still developed sentiments to that little girl of that era, so he still protected her secretly even while having to be hidden and constantly thinking of to deal with this world disaster that was the ancient ming race was to the human race

[collapse]
another thing is his maids during the whole story, some people are seeing thing very superficially about them, because the whole point of having those maids, is not to just have some fan service, but the main point is to show the teacher side of Li Qiye, all his maids were picked by him for reasons, due to sheer talent that could be developed or their supreme Dao heart that could have them continuously go on the the endless path of the Dao, the whole point of this is to show, even a little bit of how Li Qiye teaches his past disciples, maid or generals, or how he picks them, and what he can do to just develop them to their maximum the author does not want to develop a story behind every side character, but the side characters are there to show the little bits of personality that our MC has

last thing is about the fights, I just ask you one thing, knowing how strong, wise and knowledgeable the MC is, is there a point in doing super detailed, full of different climaxes battles knowing that the MC would eventually make everyone as an ant and crush them to dusts? There is no point to that, it would be too disappointing if you already know that everything that the enemy does will be useless, so what is the point of all the battles? One thing, the MC, as I said the whole story revolves on discovering bits of bits of the past of the MC, so what the battles show? His wiseness in the battles and plots that he thinks, and how confident he is as a general of the legion of the legends to overcome every battle in an overwhelming way not only with his power but his strategies and the power that he grants to his subordinates, because the strength of the MC is granted to be OP <<less

My heartbeat is usually fast if I'm reading this novel.I tend to forget the background noise around me.

It is really good to have a smart MC who can turn around his opponents scheme. The MC is quite tough, reliable and cunning.I can say that the characters are fairly distributed between MC's supporter and villains. Some antagonistic character also became his ally which is a plus for the author since mostly xianxia novel have nonredeemable villains.

Li Qiye looked at the peerless young woman across from him. One could say that this woman his heavenly gifted, with beauty able to topple nations but no one actually knows what origin this woman has.

”So your the youngest generation of the suckd*ck Clan. “ The woman was astonished that the young man knew of her origins as she stared at Li Qiye open mouthed and said “How did you know?”

”There are no secrets hidden in my eyes. I can see that you have problem cultivating your double peaked breasts because... more>> of your innate big nipples.”

”WHAT.”

The young woman infront of him couldn’t believe that someone saw through her cultivation in an instant because this was something that is extremely private for a cultivator. Especially she who is practicing the Big double breasted Immortal physique that only appeared 2 times in existence, she was the third but she has been cultivating the wrong Physique law because her grandmother ancestor never knew that such a miracle will appear in her clan again.

Li Qiye sighed at history because back when he was a crow, her Ancestral grandmother cultivated this physique too and he guided her how to cultivate it properly, this was because he owed a debt far too big for an old friend. He had once had her ancestral grandmother serve him so ofcourse he knew everything about this mysterious clan that no one knew about.

”Do you stull lick the tip at the ceremony?”

”What?!”

The peerless immortal looking girl with breast that could hold up the sky could not help but be surprised that he even knew this ceremony meant to honor her ancestral grandmothers teacher. In truth it was only a secret to the direct and best descendants of the newest generation so how could this man possibily know. <<less

Yeah, here is an excerpt describing this novel and every other lame Chinese novel (I'm utterly sick of reading them because I'm Chinese and have been reading them for years), credit to Supreme Magus, it's a good novel. P.S. Just add around 10 more pages of filler to actually match what the novel is about lol

That morning the classroom was already filled to the brim. Several teachers of the academy were gathered there for no reason at all. Powerful mages always had too much free time at their disposal.

Suddenly, a... more>> youth walked in. He was handsome and unrestrained, exuding an aura of confidence that made evident him being a peerless genius. His presence became more overbearing with every step.

"Dear heavens! Who is that youth of unparalleled manliness?" The female students were of course top tier beauties, wearing long chi-paos that revealed ample part of their generous bosom and let them show their long jade like legs from the side slit.

Soon blood rushed to the face and the most private parts of the young and pure maidens, making them bloom like red roses.

The handsome youth was of course Lith, our protagonist. His black, silky hair moved with each stride, his smile was filled with nothing but unrestrained power. He knew that in that small world he was peerless beyond reason.

Dazzled by his appearance, the professors decided to test his wits, so see if such overbearing talent really belonged to a true genius.

"What do you think about the Dao of magic, young master?" Said an old man whose beard almost reached the floor.

"Such an easy question." Lith's boundless self-confidence filled the whole room with admired gasps. He was the kind of man that every woman wanted, and every man wanted to be.

"He who strikes first, strikes twice. Buy low, sell high." His reply made the male audience turn green with envy.

"So young yet so wise and knowledgeable about Taoism and philosophy! He truly understands the Dao! Heavens don't have eyes! Why him? He is just commoner tr*sh! Why it couldn't be me?

I come from the [insert pompous name here] family. We have hundreds of years of artifacts and legacies, yet I am nothing compared to him!" Everyone thought.

The female audience, instead, had already fallen head over heels for him. All that they could think about was how to capture his manly heart and how many children of him they wanted to bear in their wombs.

But Lith hadn't finished yet.

"The cat is on the table. It's a quarter from nine."

Those simple words revealed a profound and unfathomable wisdom. Soon the professors realized that it would take them years to understand the truth about the Dao that was hidden behind those words.

At the same time, the female audience raised the baby count by one, some even by three. They were healthy young ladies, after all.

Soon the evil envious prince from the powerful Envy family couldn't take it anymore.

"You are courting death!" He bellowed.

He moved with unbelievable speed, arriving in front of Lith in the blink of an eye. He was the most nondescript character one could imagine. The only defining trait he had was a T-shirt saying: "Hi, I'm the bad guy."

"You tr*sh, how dare you taint this sacred halls with your presence? Kowtow to me nine times and call me your grandpa, and I promise I will not kill you."

The professors gasped. They were all archmages, hundreds of years old. But what was their pride, the school honour, not to mention nonsense like the rules of the kingdom in front of that youth?

He was Prince Bad Guy from the Envy family, whose power they didn't dare to offend. So, like the archmages they were, they squealed some pathetic excuse and hid in the background.

"Poor Lith, he is destined to die. No one can offend the Envy family and live to tell the tale." They thought as one.

Lith was unaffected by both his words and t-shirt.

"You are just a side character, scram!" With a wave of his hand, Lith sent Bad Guy crashing into the wall, keeping him alive for no reason other than to gloat at his misfortune.

Bad Guy coughed a mouthful of blood, his bones were crushed, his internal organs bleeding, his dantian almost crippled, but his ego was stronger than ever.

"Uncle! Please save me! This b*stard dared to hit me! So despicable! Why did you refuse to die when I politely asked you to?"

Lith wanted to reply to such senseless words, but another nondescript character appeared. He was older than Bad Guy, and his t-shirt recited: "I'm the Uncle."

The professors were so scared by his appearance that they hid in the previous page of this very same chapter, trying to escape his fury.

"That's the legendary Bad Guy's Uncle! Now Lith is really done for! He refused a toast only to drink a defeat."

"Who dares to hurt my nephew? I'm Uncle [insert boring wannabe threatening speech here] from the Envy family. Cripple your dantian and cut your own arms, and maybe I will let you live as a dog."

"Such a compelling offer." Lith sneered.

"But you are a side character as well. I have no time to waste, scram and make the final boss appear!" Lith sneezed, and the power of that simple move broke down Uncle's body and will, sending him crashing in the wall right beside Bad Guy.

"Oh Patriarch! Please avenge us!" He said coughing a mouthful of blood before passing out.

"Who dares to defy the Envy family?"

A heaven-defying bellow shook the whole academy, while Patriarch Final Boss descended from the sky.

"Oh God! It's Patriarch Final Boss from the Envy family! We are here by accident, we don't belong in this novel!" The professors left the pages of the novel, running for their lives.

His nondescript character's t-shirt saying: "I'm the Final Boss" was all the proof of identity anyone could ever need.

"I admit you have some talent, young MC. But it's time that this story goes back to its rightfully tracks! It belongs to my Envy family!"

Lith laughed coldly.

"Did you even bother reading the title? It's Supreme Magus, not The Envy Chronicles! Enough wasting pages, do your worst!"

"How dare you correct me when I am so wrong even a blind, deaf and dumb man would notice? Take this hit if you dare!"

Final Boss unsheathed the Black Phoenix Evil God Cyber Monday Sword, a peerless artifact that the Envy family had passed on through the generations.

The sword light was filled with boundless power and knowledge, sword intent could be clearly seen piercing time, space and even the Author's patience that was growing short with so many filler words in the same sentence.

The audience felt like Mount Tai was falling down from the sky, the pressure of that strike was unbearable even for the spectators. No one could possibly imagine what Lith was feeling under such killing intent.

It was pure and unrestrained boredom!

Lith didn't move from his spot, simply ripping open his robe, he revealed what was hidden inside.

The world class beauties, imagining him to be stark naked underneath, experienced non-stop nosebleed, to the point that the most delicate ones fainted on the spot.

The simple idea of his dancing chiselled pecs, big enough to play chess over them, and a six-ab pack hard enough to act as a washboard was too much for a young maiden's mind to take.

But Lith wasn't naked, on the contrary.

Under his robe, lied the strongest weapon of all creation.

"Oh my God!" Said a professor that had tripped in the webpage address, and hence was still there.

"Shiny as silver, light as silk but durable without equals!"

"No! It cannot be!" Even Final Boss, despite still performing his strike was able to catch a glimpse of the true nature of his opponent.

"That's right!" Lith laughed a handsome, overbearing, manly, peerless, genius laughter.

"It's the legendary plotinum armour, better known as plot armour!"

"Hi there! I'm the Author!" The armour said. "Now scram! I'm not gonna change the title of my work for a nondescript cookie cut character like you!"

"Nooooo!" When the sword and the Plot Armour collided, Final Boss disappeared from existence, and so did Bad Guy and Uncle.

And so Lith lived happily ever after, never knowing exactly how many members his harem reached, despite having an intimate knowledge of every and each one of them. <<less

If you're looking for a standard cultivation novel about some fellow or girl leveling up and fighting against impossible odds by merit of some golden finger, this is not the book for you.

This is that novel's long as f*ck grandpa.

In my opinion, Emperor's Domination is what a book about a true f*ck-tillion year old being should be like. It's long, it's draggy, it can get boring as h*ll at certain parts, and it has tons of lore, some which is pointless.

... more>> Why do I say that? Well, it's rather simple.

Many novels have portrayed characters that are supposedly incalculably old ("XXX has lived since before the creation of Heaven and Earth", "XXX has existed as long as the sky and earth, the sun and moon.", etc.), but not many have shown characters that ACT like super old grandpas and grandmas.

This is where Emperor's Domination steps in. It shows us our super OP MC Li Qiye, who has participated in practically every epic battle, been the golden finger of a whole slew of pseudo-MCs, and experienced almost everything under and above Heaven. It shows us this insufferable, arrogant-as-sh*t, mu*der hobo of a MC. It shows us what a true super grandpa cultivator should be like.

THIS IS THE SINGLE GOOD THING ABOUT THE NOVEL. The characters are paper thin, the plot is repetitive, but at least the MC is true to his so called character.

This is why I give Emperor's Domination 4 stars. It shows us what it said it would, an old as dirt being, in his most natural form, an egomaniacal bastard. (The reason for it not being 4 stars is because as a human being I also got bored of reading it and my hand couldn't click the fifth star xD)

In short, the novel stays true to character even when the readers don't like it. The character's don't matter, the world-building doesn't matter, only how the MC acts matters.

So if you want to comprehend the true meaning of being old-as-f*ck, get ready to turn off your brain and spend the next 6 months reading this. <<less

Warning!!! BEFORE U READ THIS NOVEL, U MUST KNOW THAT THIS AUTHOR PREFER QUANTITY OVER QUALITY.

Okay, when I first read this novel, it fells like... WTF?! Such a Badass MC... how I love MC crush his enemy like a mere ant... how MC so Domineering that he didn't gave sh*t to other.... but... sigh~

Story itself not bad, very good in fact... (then, why u rate it 2☆?) That bc how repetitive the story become later on... its like...

... more>> MC come>underestimated>MC slap the guy/girl>they call the backing>attack MC>they death>repeat it again....

An over-descriptions by author...

Ex: his attack destroy ten-thousand world, supress immortal and make devil cry............ -.- something like this used for almost everything in this novel.

World building itself a good one, then become bullsh*t later on with how vague and over-descripted author become....

All villains are a BIG Idiot (even for some old-monster), its like their brain become smaller as they got older... Remember, MC never-ever fall to hard situation in entire story... MC always suceed...

No Romance.... haha~ what u expect to an old-dude with millions of year experience (that he even see women as a mere bag of bones) and someone that have ambitions to become the Creator of All.... the women that close to MC, either become maid or disciple.

U will think this a story against the heaven?? No.. not at all.... this like a bored old man pranking some child in his journey to his home........ in fact after last major battle MC/Story.... reset to his former state (first freed from demon grotto).... ohh! Yeah... author really loves to nerve MC everytimes he come to new world.. already happen 3 times... then he write bullsh*t story for hundreds or thousands of chapter.....

No mind for all of cons.... read it... skip it if u feel bored, u will not lose anything. <<less

Yes, I read 1618 chapters of a very bad novel and still enjoyed it. Why is it that bad? MC speaks all the time about mysteries of the world, without saying anything. He tells us about history and the future events, but we as the readers always get just 1 part of the story. You will never hear about the other parts of the story.

Our MC would say: "You, as the readers are ants and can't reach the apex, so you aren't qualified to know anything."

You will read tons of... more>> conservations between MC and his old acquaintances or some mysterious beings, but as always you get just 1 part of the story. You will never know or comprehend what they are actually talking about most of the time. I suspect, even the author doesn't know what they are talking about :D

In the beginning you will feel curious about all the conversations and history talk of our MC, but as the story progresses they will never be mentioned again. In fact, there will be more and more completely different and independent "mystery talk sessions" on top of the old confusing speeches of our MC. You start to realize: "F*ck, all this talk is just filler content. You will never know what they are talking about."

Why should you read this garbage of a novel? Because the MC is the most badass and domineering character I've ever read in a novel. The story is about destroying the enemy in the most badass ways you can think of and "mystery talk".

Remember: mystery talk=filler

If you are here to read about anything else, you will be left disappointed. You should still give it a try, because it is damn satisfying to see our MC tr*shing everyone else in this novel ;D <<less

Okay, I recently read this novel from the beginning since it moved to Wuxiaworld and man what an addition Wuxiaworld has found. I will put it down in parts on why I rated it 5 stars which I do not normally do.

1) The main character is unique in the Chinese novel category. Yes, he is arrogant and does not give shits about anyone, however, the author did a good job on telling us why that happens. Without going into too many spoilers, the MC lived for an ungodly amount of... more>> time so much so that he has seen most things and knows most things. So when others undermine him because he just returned to his mortal body, he has the right to be arrogant since he has probably been in many worse situations. And unlike other Wuxia stories where the MC is arrogant, this one is believable. Just imagine. He has seen the birth and rise of figures many times stronger than the people he is facing. He also knows way more than anyone in his time. He would naturally see all people as his juniors or just ignorant brats.

2) The story arcs. Unlike Wuxia novels that have the predictable story arcs such as junior competition, female protagonist getting into an engagement they are forced into (something about losing v**ginity) or even the random power up by going into secret realms. This novel throws it out the window as his strength is enough to contest even with some of the strongest people, the MC does not want to marry/f*ck and his strength comes from his prior knowledge when he was not in a human body. Additionally, there are some story arcs where you will not know where it is heading, unlike most Wuxia novels.

3) The intrigue. Even though the story moves in a way where the MC knows most things and has several connections, we as the readers do not. Even up till the 200th chapter, we have only seen one or two connections that remember him when he was a crow. I always look forward to the time where a new connection from his past shows up or when a new character/sect/group shows up and the MC knows how to deal with them or tells us more mysteries. Although I rated 5 stars, there are some demerits to the novel

1) No suspense. I guess this is a problem for most novels with MCs with plot armor but it is especially true with this novel. Since the MC is so overpowered, not much can faze you when he is going through peril as you know he will definitely win.

2) Side characters would not have much development. Other than the MC, I think the only characters with proper development would be his dead friends. The side characters in this novel although have little development, they are not vital to the story that they can carry an entire arc by themselves. Which can be a good or bad thing depending on the reader. If the MC is enough to carry the novel for you, it would not pose much of a problem. However, if you like side characters that are good and mesh well with the MC, you will not find it here. All in all this is one of the better Wuxia novels I have read in a while and I definitely recommend people to binge read it. <<less

This novel is just almost perfect. I have currently finished, taken a look or still reading around 80% of novels with more than 50-100 chapters on this site. And after I spotted this gemstone - it instantly became one of my top 2 favorites.

Nice plot, nice pacing, nice characters, and this is one of a few novels - where main character behavior match with his past. I really like these moments - when Li Qi Ye is drown in his memories, this add very special feeling to this novel and... more>> also additional depth to the world building. Very, very nice reading. Translator and editors are also doing very good job, cheers for them. I am very thankful - that you allowed me to enjoy this precious literary gem, no less, at least for me.

I've repeatedly given it chances over the last few days, but this story has little going for it yet. The writing or translation style is weirdly abstract, making immersion difficult. Though the main character's backstory might have been interesting, it's too vague and unreliable: as long as he might have done something over a million years, then the author has no qualms with adding it to his history, even if it doesn't mesh with what's previously been revealed. The protagonist dominates the story. Compared to him, others are less dimensional;... more>> unfortunately, the protagonist himself has not been developed, so everyone's really badly off. Almost everyone's been either annoying or mu*derous, and the exceptions have had to remain mysterious (unexplored) to remain different. Nevertheless, the main character will reward the people who have tried to shame or kill him, because he's above them and doesn't care what they think. Although that seems magnanimous, it's like not caring about a pack of straws' feelings, so whatever.

Finally, the main character binds himself to his ens*aved past instead of forging out on his own. That's not interesting. He's lived for tens of thousands of generations; there's already little challenge in towering over his juniors even if he throws everything away and starts anew, yet he begins his journey by reinforcing his sorta-pupils' bases because he feels obligated to. For him, this doesn't mean cleaning house, but giving more power to the people who have helped run the house down, because that's such a good idea, right?

If the first chapters are indicative of the rest of this story, then it won't be good. <<less

The main character is what makes this novel interesting. The writer makes his character traits, both good and bad, shine through the story.

Personally dropped as of C3367

It had a lot of progression before arounds 3200 may have been a little repetitive at times but whats happen recently has made this absolute tr*sh tier cause it seems like the author could do it again

Spoiler

So the MC got his body stolen and became an immortal crow who couldn't cultivate, finally he gets his body back after many many years and can now cultivate. Now he got strong enough to destroy the epoch which restructured the whole cultivation system and he has to start over as a mortal and now it seems the story is repeating itself (not that the common cultivator tropes were enough we have to go through this all over again). Feel like you could start at chapter 3245 and basically get the just of it (basically - stuff happened, MC now a mortal again, time to repeat the face slaps). If you actually read the story till chapter 3245 from that point on it now feels like you now literally are watching an adult bully children for the sake of extending the story.

Makes no sense as he keeps talking about the final battle and how he wants his answer..... like come on it did seem mysterious and give some intrigue but now it seems like we've got to this point were this answer won't come and the author is just drawing this out and not making any progress. (before his cultivation went back to mortal kinda had expectation that he would reach top realm then fight it out, now seems like he may lose his cultivation over and over again to perfect himself for this battle that won't happen)

If you want a repetitive loop because you like this tr*sh talk of the exact same way, with minimal story progression then this is the story for you. (the repetitive tropes in this novel include 1. making some female character a maid, 2. making everyone call him young noble, 3. common face slapping of random characters who are redundant, 4. yeet everything and repeat)

Day 1: Oh, I seemed to found an interesting new novel, pretty high reviews too. Although the premise is good, it's kind of slow. I'll wait till the chapters stack up and give it another shot.

Day 28: Oh boy, I've found a hidden gem. The protagonist is a little annoying though, but the world-building is just great.

Day 78: I've seem to ran out of chapters and just when it got good too. Damn it. I don't know what to do, but it seems like I'm going to have to go... more>> to the other side. The dark side. Machine translations...

Day 104: I don't know what I was thinking. I'm 1200 chapters in and I have no clue what just happened in the last 600 hundred chapters. All I know is that there is a whale somewhere and I have no idea why. The story has gotten a bit repetitive it seems.

Day 105: I have been freed from my addiction. This novel no longer defines me, I am but a man in hopes of retribution. I am free.

Day 270: Just as I thought I was out, they pull be back in.

Day 485: Every chapter I read I think the author will change. I mean I'm sure there are chinese readers filling him in about what he needs to improve on. I'm sure he'll start making improvements right away, but deep down I know the truth. That this novel is the junk food of the webnovel world, even for xuanhuan standards. <<less

Pretty average all things considered. Currently at Chp 600++ and I can confidently say that there's no thought provoking or new cultivation methods. Everything in the story depends on one thing, and one thing alone: the rank of the cultivation method used. Even if your talent is rock bottom (guess who), so long as you have the highest and best cultivation methods, you're pretty much set. At first, with his cultivation level, MC can still jump ranks to beat people up. Even people a whole 2 realms ahead of him.... more>> Anything beyond that, he depends on the treasures he "finds" to chase them away. This lasts until 150ish, where his cultivation method is at least at level 2. Every battle from there on out is essentially MC tanking hits from anything and everything, laughing in his "domineering" style, and then killing them off, even people 3 -4 realms ahead of him.

By that point, you can pretty much tell that nothing short of a full blown Immortal Emperor will rattle him, and since there are none alive, the MC gets away with being a jerkass. And that's actually a plot point, because of how old he is, how he has literally experienced EVERYTHING there is in the world (even the ones that occur once every few millennia apparently), he can solve EVERY situation possible with no tension whatsoever.

There is no suspense, there is no fascinating battle, anyone who offends him dies. Young masters and their fathers and their father's father and their father's father's father deliver themselves to his doorstep. No matter where he goes, his antagonists are entirely from the category above, there is no long term enemy.

If someone extremely strong shows up, he WILL ass pull his way out of it, up to and including using his physique tribulation, which he has been somehow suppressing for God knows how long, just in case some Ancestors decide to f*ck with him out of nowhere, to turn into a giant-green-super saiyan-gorilla and r*pe everything him around him (granted, this only happened once so far. A similar ass pull was used later on, but he didn't turn into a giant gorilla this time, just summon a bunch of thunder clouds from his tribulation, which he then used to OHKO an entire sect). Essentially, every single one of his antagonists spend roughly 20-50 chapters whining, and grating, and putting people down, to the point where you actually don't mind Li Qiye being a jackass because you want to rip them apart yourselves.

There. Is. No. Variation.

They all talk 20 - 50 chapters, building your hatred up, then they die in 2 - 3, whereupon he moves to another region, rinse and repeat. Also, somehow, Li Qiye's reputation never really seems to improve because no matter what enemy he faces despite his achievements, random background people still think its wise to mouth of to him when they KNOW he can rip their great grandfather's in half.

This obviously gives him the capital to be "domineering" and "arrogant". Some people find it "Fresh" because no one else has done it. Even I thought so at first, but then after a few cycles, his continuous "declarations" of "I-can-do-everything-and-offend-anyone-because-I-am-Li-Qiye." starts getting a little stale/grating, and trust me, he does not change. There is no need for prudence or modesty because quite frankly, he can ass pull his way out of any situation imaginable.

Outside of being bossy and domineering, he demands trust and loyalty, but up till chapter 700-ish, he has yet to tell anyone of his real circumstances, and he goes out of his way to mope about his past friends and life. Everyone else around him turns a blind eye to this and bends to his will simply because "He's-Li-Qiye. He-knows-everything."

Author even lampshades this idiocy once or twice.

His "important" sect lasts maybe bout the first 3 books, at which point, you can tell the author is getting tired of using them as a plot device and they slowly fade out of the story to the point where they literally only show up at the end just to collect some handouts from the newest dungeon Li Qiye has just conquered.

He collects pretty women to be his swordsmaids, which I assume, is another word for harem members, because its definitely heading in that direction (granted, he doesn't really treat them in a romantic member. His interaction with them tends to be rather condescending in a supreme-teacher-teaching-a-noobie kinda way). The women don't seem to mind, and are slavishly loyal to him all things considered.

Said pretty women, are obviously rather 1 dimensional, and last all of 10-15 chapters "huffing at this random noob's intolerable arrogance" before they start "flushing and blushing" for the rest of the novel. Do note that the way he gets them to join also usually consists of taking one look at them, finding a deficiency or some issue with their body at which point, he cooly and mysteriously shows off his kickass collection of god level cultivation methods which can fix anything and everything.

Voila, harem member getto daze. <<less

Lets be honest with ourselves and ask each other why we really read these kinds of net novels. It is to fantasize about being powerful and getting all the girls and slapping people in the face. In this story you don't have to put up with long training arcs or tournaments or hiding your power levels or long chase scenes. The main character will always know what to do at all times, his schemes will always make everyone look s*upid, he will win all of his fights all of the... more>> time, every girl will want to be with him, he will never fail at anything, and all the bad guys will get their faces slapped. The story so far is about 400 chapters of face slapping. So if you like this kind of thing, it is the absolute best at what it wants to do. There is literally a novel out there called "Main Character Hides His Strength" so you can read that kind of garbage if that's more your thing, everyone else can read this and have some fun. <<less

Quite an intelligent novel, I can honestly understand the MC's disdain for everything, after being at the top for ages your point of view and mindset changes. It is a genuine appropriation of true genius, scheming and power to back up, it also has some comedy interwoven there or intelligent wit if I dare say.

so if you are tired of numb skull MC's and jump head first logic this is for you. I sincerely hope the TL'er can reach the 2000+ chapters.

Kudos to the translator portraying the author's intent- exquisite... more>> (5 Stars to you) <<less

About the synopsis. The one from the author I can only say its pretty misleading. For example I assumed he would have those he raised and took care of become companions of his as he goes on the path of cultivation turning over the heavens and earth. But its quite different.

Well overall it is a really good story. The MC gives off the impression that he is a divine emperor one who holds the world within his hands. He is not a genius but an ancient being with the body... more>> of a little boy (he is actually the little boy at first but became an ancient being with knowledge and experience over millions of years and finally returns to his little boy body and the story begins). Has knowledge and experience of the world that no one can compare to. Using that he walks on his path of cultivation. <<less

Better than I expected. Unlike TDG where the past seems more of a plot than the present, this story is very good with continuous references to the past of the MC. It also has a good reason for why he isn't a god after a few weeks.
