“Back when we were children, she used to be cute, but now, she’s nothing but an oh so upright noble lady, the kind which I despised the most. She’s no different from the other noble ladies now.”

Such was the complaint of Elizabeth’s fiancé, the prince, which she accidentally overheard.

Huuuh—!? Isn’t it because you wished for me to become your fiancée that I had to undertake the lady’s education—!?

It is the story of a lady who fell out of love, discard the prince, and attain her own happiness.

It wasn't fully satisfying for me because the ex fiancee didn't know by the end why she changed "to herself" after they broke up.

Like I can understand if she wanted to breakup with him for this, but at least after the break up explain. He's not gonna regret if he doesn't know what she was dissatisfied with, so she doesn't one up him really.

Like he was open with her and complained about her acting unlike herself. While she didn't open up to him at all. He's just very oblivious and... more>> doesn't realise himself.

And he was only saying his worries to his friends, isn't this normal? He wasn't talking behind her back, because he also said it to her face. And later, they both did lots of wrongs when she started scheming to pair him up with that wolf.

She put in effort on her queen's training, but no effort in communicating with him. <<less

Beware!

This novel is not poignant, heart wrenching, satisfactory, and is a far reach from a masterpiece.

Although you may feel the urge to read this for the face-slapping, it will only anger or sadden you when you read it.

*****TRIGGER WARNING*****:... more>>

r*pe is within this story and glossed over

Full Explanation:

Spoiler

First of all, the writing is not eloquent, and rather choppy, often lacking detailed description or skipping monologue and revisiting at awkward pacing.

The story revolves around the typical cookie cutter noble woman getting her heart broken by her fiancee due to him "cheating" and comparing her with other women to demean her. However, this is written in a way that indicates the author is venting their emotions into their writing, causing the story to become less of an enjoyable read.

Moreover, the "revenge" that the Main Character received was watching her fiancee slowly fall into the downfall that is her step-sister, and then he is r*ped.

The step-sister of the MC drugged the fiancee to make him responsible for "sleeping with her". That is not consent, even though the story said he "deserved" it for emotionally cheating the MC, that's not right. AT ALL. It does not mean that he deserved being drugged and to have his vulnerable state used against him as a revenge plot, just because he was irritating does not mean he was asking to be attacked when he could do nothing. The MC knew that the sister might have done this too. She was fully aware that her step-mother did the same exact scheme against her father. She allowed the step-sister to get farther so her reputation is at the higher moral ground when people discover that the ML cheated on her with her step-sister. AND THEN, THEY JUST BRUSH IT OFF!!

It felt like the author of this novel did not care and used this plot point just to further their story line. Both the father and the fiancee are victims, but they are left as either "cold and heartless" dad or the "regretful" guy that wants the MC back. These plot devices enrage me.

This story left me with a disgusting taste. <<less

For a short novel it is already a good read, the MC chose her happiness. I like that she quietly worked behind to achieve it and treated everyone as pawns cunningly (LMAO)

I'm glad she ended with a better man and became happy. I'm just unsatisfied bc despite the Prince being a jerk, I think her previous relationship with him lacked communication. Feels like they got no real closure bc they didn't discuss the real problem.

I'm happy she has broken free from such a man and now is truly with someone who accepts her, no matter what. She holds the type of bitterness I would hold, so I didn't feel unsatisfied about her being "forgiving" - she even went above it, going so far as to plot and plan the starting points of her former fiance's misery. Alice and Albert played like puppets, which means while she may have planted the seeds, they tended to it and made them grow into luscious, poisonous trees. Actually,... more>> Albert could've chosen to be happy - he could've learned to love Alice in spite of her not turning out the way he wanted, he could've cherished their child, and let Eliza go from his heart. Instead, he chose to brood on Eliza, or rather, her image. He hurt her, he hurt Alice, and now he's hurting his child.

Her grandmother may raise her to be the same as Alice. It seems their family line may be doomed to be producing vixens time and time again, like a curse? I could already think of that girl being a particular character, though. Maybe an MC?

Neglected by her parents, the lonely princess was covertly ostracized by her peers. Doted on by her scheming grandparents, she grew up to be a villainess. Suddenly, a certain event triggered her memories of a past life - she was an otome-game loving japanese woman who somehow reincarnated into a villainess! She has to turn this about or else she may die!

Still, it feels incomplete, because Alice is harrassing her seriously- I wanted to see what she would've done, I don't think she would've just taken it like that. <<less

This story is satisfying and heartbreaking at the same time. It's satisfying because MC finally could be herself again and has her happy ending with the man who could accept her as she is. It's heartbreaking because I think deep down inside her heart, MC still loves the prince but her logic doesn't allow herself to forgive him.

Speaking of the prince, I don't know what's wrong with his brain. As the crown prince, he should know best about what to expect from the queen. Yet, he still bad-mouthed MC because... more>> she changed after given the queen's education. He even used MC's half sister to make her jealous. Serve him right for being miserable in the end. <<less

Not bad at all. A pretty decent story. Doesn't have the over-the-top and senseless 'public humiliating breakup' and nobles whose sole job in life seems to be gossip. Prince regrets everything. He was an immature brat and learnt a v painful lesson. MC lets go and becomes how she should have been with the help of ML.

Curiously, this story does not emphasise ML and MC but MC and Prince. Instead of an ML coming to show the way and saving MC, MC saves herself and picks up ML on the... more>> way. The romance between ML and MC has not been shown because emphasis is on MC and her happiness.

Honestly, I love this one - Elizabeth feels like a real person who was badly hurt and decided "Screw this - I'm out" and then made her way out.

Spoiler

I'm SUPER not okay with Elizabeth knowing that her half-sister would more than likely drug and r*pe her fiance, but Albert cheating on and humiliating Elizabeth is just awful. Elizabeth didn't make Alice drug Albert, she just knew that it would be likely to happen given that Alice's mother did the same to her father - WHICH ALBERT WOULD HAVE KNOWN. It wasn't a secret and if Albert had actually listened to Elizabeth and attempted to rub two brain cells together he would have known what was going on.

I feel a little bad for Albert because it sounds like he did actually love Elizabeth at one point, but he abused her trust and honestly was mentally and emotionally abusive. Elizabeth didn't tell Alice to drug him, she just didn't save him and just got out of the way. I truly hope Elizabeth is happy with Victor, and I'm not sad in the least that Albert is crying over losing Elizabeth. It couldn't have happened to a more selfish, short-sighted, self-centered, deserving person.

More a parable than a true story, this is a decent quick read with a female lead who responds to her disappointment with her first love by moving on and finding a better man. Of course, there’s also the revenge, but in this case it’s not vicious or over the top, which made the female lead seem much more rounded and realistic than in many tales in a similar vein.

The story is sparse and is largely the narrative of the female lead, and a rather dry depiction of her responses... more>> to actions (her own and others). While I admire that she’s not passive and makes moves toward her own goals, the presentation is so matter-of-fact that I found it very hard to believe that the female lead was the mischievous little girl she tells us she was.

The story is so bereft of introspection and emotion that it reads more like a summary or draft than an actual story. Still, I think I’d enjoy reading this one if it were expanded and allowed readers to “see” rather than e “told, ” if you know what I mean. <<less

Well to keep it short. If you like to read reddit posts about how a character sucks well here you go. The reason I give it 5 stars is because I am one such person, I like this otome game like stories and god dam you know I made a couple of why I hatte this or that character posts (who cares about college exams when I need to bit*h about Tessia Eralith... nice easter egg should someone who reads this recognise that character). What can I say more. Its... more>> short so you aint hurting from reading it. Just let the inner hatter in you take over. <<less

If were only sticking to the MC, its a satisfying read.

But if were going to look at the side characters, then youre gonna drown in regret and contemplation 😂

Granted they couldve talked to each other, but lets just say everything needed to be convenient without a mature resolution. Yes, Im calling what the MC did petty or childish, no matter if she was allowed to or not. Everything in the first part of the story was "childish", the next part was convenient and ideal.

I loved it!

There's no redemption to anyone because there's no need for it. The MC tried to comunicate a lot before everything fell apart. The prince didn't love her and she was able to see it. I love how she found someone better and became happy.

It's SO RELATABLE because she doesn't act or think as someone perfect. Neither does the people around her.

Feels like a older woman telling about her past over tea.
