Yuanyuan is the last life steward system in the future world. After 5023, all mankind has entered the era of mechanization. Unfortunately, she will be destroyed. After being destroyed, Yuanyuan discovered that she had actually traveled to the 1980s when supplies were scarce. She became the second cannon fodder who abused her nephew and niece. She was finally cleaned up by her husband who was an officer. She was abducted and trafficked to her death in the mountains.

Shen Huai has a handsome face and extraordinary aura. As soon as Yuanyuan approaches him, she has a steady stream of energy supply, filling her with energy. There is such a good energy in front of her. She can’t get a divorce when she says nothing. She sees a man’s body compare with each other day by day. A good day, but the look in her eyes is getting more and more wrong. (TN: part of me feels it meant to say ‘his’ eyes as in the ML but I can’t be sure so I’m leaving it)

I heard that Shen Huai brought back a daughter-in-law from a rural town. Everyone thought that the girl from a small place had never seen the world, she must be ugly in a big city, and she didn’t understand etiquette. I didn’t expect this girl to stun everyone with her fluent English. The state banquet chefs clapped their hands for good dishes. The Shen family thought that this was already very good. They didn’t know that the girl could cut, cultivate, animal husbandry, pharmacy, acupuncture, brewing, craftsman, the whole decathlon. While everyone was envious, jealous and hated, they all sighed that Head Shen really picked up the treasure. Everyone in the army heard that Shen Huai was often in a daze because he missed his little wife at home, and his comrades all wanted to know how beautiful his wife was, so that the cold and abstinent head could not think about it. On the day Chen Yuan entered the military hospital, she was said to have caused a sensation because of her high appearance, which led to an increase in the registration rate. One-sentence introduction: Relying on food to conquer the cold husband’s intention: work hard to make progress every day.

I like it but I have to be honest; I feel like the MC is everywhere. I've read my fair share of future going back to the 60s, 70s, 80s so I'm no stranger to the MC introducing new methods, ideas and innovations to improve her family's living style.

It's just the way MC goes from (... more>>
Spoiler

being an amazing innovating cook, to an English teacher, to a furniture designer, to a cartoonist, to a police consultant, to an animator, to a Scientist that studies DNA, to an alarm antitheft maker of many kinds, to a doctor that created (proof of?) paternity test and a lot more things.

[collapse]
) one thing to another it's kind of staggering. It would have been nice to see the MC just focus on one thing or at least one aspect.

Spoiler

The whole police thing that came up kind of put me off. It looked so out of place. Why would a professional go to what seems to be a regular person so they can do a DNA studies??? That really out there. I'm still not over the fact on how many times the government went to someone that had no credentials of any kind for professional things. Yes, she's a robot from the future and can do anything and us readers know but they didn't, so it makes no sense whatsoever for them to trust her.

[collapse]

Spoiler

There is also that one scene where the brother and his future wife run from the police because of selling in the street when, based on the timeline, they should have had no issue with the police. This scene confused me for a while and I started to think they were still in the 70s, which makes a huge difference when it comes to technology and the way of life.

[collapse]

Oh, and the ending felt rushed but hey I still give this a 3, because the MC and ML are cute together... <<less

This novel is well written and the funny thing about it for me, the thing that made it memorable, is that it is about artificial intelligence and I used AI to read it, to translate it. By now, online AI translators such as DeepL and chatGPT have become so good and so superior to Google and Yandex translators that they make all webnovels fully accessible and enjoyable. They translate metaphors and Chinese idioms and even "messy and ambiguous" Chinese pronouns very well.

Spoiler

The first 30 chapters are very good and this novel has about 100 chapters altogether. But each chapter is huge, 5-10 times longer than the usual chapters in webnovels, so do not let it mislead you. This novel is not that short.

The FL is from the distant future whee she existed as a semi-living being. She was alive because she was an intelligent being, a conscience, with limitless access to knowledge and skills of her era, but her first body was a housekeeping robot which was eventually dismantled because humans themselves began to replace their own bodies with powerful robotic parts and mechanical units and they no longer needed robots to serve them.

So she transmigrated and woke up as a young married woman, a nurse married to a soldier with three kids and a disabled younger brother. The kids are his orphaned nephews. While the soldier was away on his missions his stepmother did everything possible to destroy the kids and the disabled young man. So, the FL has to take care of them.

And she does.

Being an AI she needs energy to keep functioning and in our world people are never alive and well on their own, we need other people, when we make them happy, when we are helpful, we feel uplifted, energized. This metaphor is used in the novel. The AI inside human body gets energy charge when she makes the ML and the kids and other people he loves happy. She basically cannot live unless she loves and is loved.

Unfortunately, by ch 35-45, the author shifted her focus away from the FL and her family more and more towards money making and various businesses and some random people and technology or global society topics described in minute detail, so I lost interest. Reading all that stuff does not make me happy, lol. Not one bit. So I stopped right there.

I know how this novel ends (the ML and the FL will be together again in yet another life in different bodies) but I do not care. Immortality and promise of a long string of transmigrations is less important than living a life here and now. The important, warm and excitingly human part of that story ended by the ch 30. And that part deserves five stars from me mostly because it describes the psychology of suffering and poverty so well.

The rest is garbage. The author does not understand the psychology of wealth or happiness and does not write well about it. Suddenly, well fleshed out normal people with souls and feelings and tears and passions disappeared from the pages of that story. Instead, she replaced them with endless descriptions of geniuses, gadgets and grandiose money making schemes that take over the world.

Spoiler

Mother returns from abroad.

She wants to take advantage of her children (wealth) - Sister instigates this

She feels bad for herself... she was not married to the foreigner so when he passed she got nothing

She is the 'villain' but it gets quickly resolved

She wants to ruin her daughter's career, but the girl (actress - can't remember her name, starts with an N), comes out in front of it and addresses her mom's abandonment so the public sides with her

It's not really a big splash

[collapse]

I really enjoyed reading the novel, its good, but I did not like the ending

It is not rushed per se but...

Spoiler

ML died at the age of 66? from wounds during his time of service

He somehow transmigrates to the future into the body of duke and recognizes MC who transmigrates to the robot body of an unfavored aristocrat daughter

He recognizes her immediately which makes no sense... he at least resembles the ML but there is no detail that the MC looks the same in the new body

Villains (sister of MC and father? and brother of ML) get resolved quickly

There is only a picture that they will be happy but it definitely points the picture that these times are inequitable (rich get richer and poor get poorer - energy stones matter here), and that is not resolved at all (like I don't expect it to be resolved, its a societal problem, but it's so basic... if that makes sense?)

[collapse]

I didn't like the ending, but apart from that it was really nice, especially the advancements in technology

Spoiler

Fertilizer (aided with medicinal crops)

DNA

Security (infrared?)

Fashion

Medicine (for joint pain? / and medicinal crops /farming)

Novel (comic strip)

Food (restaurants)

Amus**ent park (s)

[collapse]

Also, the MC has some problems...

Spoiler

Towards the end, it felt she cared for ML (she powered down her energy stone?

But I always felt her mentality was very functional and direct (robot wise)

When she is with the ML, like some things were attributed by her as troublesome... (you have to read to understand)

She felt caring but cold... her interests were energy that relied on making those around her happy (does that make sense?)

I think this novel is quite good, but it's also a bit boring because everything felt a bit too easy. Anyway, I dropped it after reading enough. At the very least, the premise is quite interesting— it's definitely unique when compared to other novels from the same era (1980s - China), not only because of the FL's character background but also because of the businesses explored (from educational book writing, to comics, to science, etc.)

___________

SUMMARY: The FL of this novel is an advanced Housekeeper Robot from thousands of years... more>> in the future. For some reason, her consciousness ended up being transferred into the body of Chen Yuan, who is a cannon fodder from a book. Her role in the story is to be the horrible aunt of the male protagonist (to be clear, the male protagonist is not the ML of this story but the protagonist of the original book.) The male protagonist's dad had died and his mother had runaway, leaving him under the care of his uncle (the ML), who married the original Chen Yuan. Anyway, the original's ending was not good because she was too desperate for success and was incredibly unkind to the entire family. When the Housekeeper Robot transmigrated, it was not long after Chen Yuan had married in, so she had opportunity to change somethings. Mostly, she improved the lives of the people that the male protagonist thought of as important little by little through various tricks thanks to her various advanced skills.

As mentioned by other reviewers, this novel isn't a Mary Sue novel despite the OP female lead. She doesn't have high ambitions, she works hard for the sole purpose of collecting energy (which she can get from the happiness of the people the male protagonist cares about). Of course, later on, she'll start to learn more about what it's like to be human, but at first, she's pretty cold. Very much lacking in emotion, especially when compared with the others. Which is quite interesting.

_____________

THOUGHTS: All in all, not a bad read. I think it's strengths are also it's weaknesses though. Because the FL was given such a unique background, it made the story a little stale. After all, if a novel lacks a strong protagonist to lead the development, it will always feel like it's missing something. Of course, if you're reading this for the poor-to-rich or career aspect, the you shouldn't suffer a lot. I can see that the author probably intends to explore the characters more later too. So who knows, maybe my main gripe will no longer be an issue. Either way, I think the novel is not bad. If you're interested, definitely give it a shot! The MTL is quite readable (75% if translated on Google Translate) — some terms are a bit hit or Miss because of the special slang of the era, but it's not too bad. At least the names are pretty clear.

As for the rating... it's hard to say. I'll give it an official one when I reread a later. Tentatively, I think it's worth around 3.3/5. Maybe a little higher or lower depending on the later developments. <<less

So I have been reading yaoi for quite awhile now and decided a change... 😅

The story is cliche but nonetheless interesting for me. ... more>>
Spoiler

Most often I question why the hell the other characters just believe the MC like that. I actually understand why the professors antagonize her. I can understand her skills such as cooking, sewing. But when considering the original body's life experience, you can't explain the DNA/paternity matching and infrared sensor. Sure the MC is OP robot but given that she transmigrated to an ordinary body, shouldn't she try to create an explanation why she knows those things...? You know... At least some believable excuse other than reading it on a book. But I guess the author just chose to ignore that.

[collapse]

Regardless of that flaw, I liked it because the initial of the storyline is about the children. So not much love story or passionate romance here but more entrepreneurial things. <<less

This is another really nice 60s/70/80s/90s story. I had a fun time reading it. My favourite bits are when they help the Ml's brother to have a little more confidence in himself.

In case the synopsis was confusing ... more>>
Spoiler

The MC was a housekeeper robot (or maybe just a system) from the future and because mankind started mechanization on themselves (meaning they started turning themselves into machines kinda like Cyborg from Teen Titans, I believe that's what it meant because the MC was questioning why they would do that when she experiences the joys of having a human body) they no longer had a need for her and she was destroyed. This is not really important to the story though and is just the source of the MC's golden finger, the intelligence and cooking skills mentioned in the synopsis. To me, even with the golden finger, she didn't come off as a Mary Sue.

The story isn't that long and I recommend it if you are looking for a nice, cute and relaxing read. <<less

Tbh, it's not bad, the premise is good and unique. After all, I've read FL's who have system administrators or FL's who quick transmigrate before. But this is my first time reading an FL who was once a system herself. However, I am very disappointed with the rushed ending. There are more chapters dedicated for those trivial and mundane matters but the FL and ML's relationship and family was compressed in 1 chapter as well as the ending for the supporting characters. It's really disappointing. Also, the story is 70% about the FL's business adventure and skills, 10% about childcare, 10% for the romance, and 10% for others. I am here for some sugar and it's really not enough. But nevertheless, just like what I said, the FL's character design, as for the rest, it's just so-so. I don't hate it that much but I don't like it that much as well. In fact, it's slightly boring because the story mostly talked about the FL's daily life and ventures, and without a comedic undertone, it's a little boring.

Overall, it's not bad but I don't think it's that outstanding. And it doesn't have the elements I'm much looking forward to— which are romance and funny scenes. Nevertheless, the extra chapters (except the last one) managed to soothe some of my disappointment because their lives got better and better. 7/10

It was an average read. MC is too OP, as said in the tags. As of now, ML is more like background character. Their relationship still haven't really progressed.
