Zeke Draker,

The first failure to awaken among the direct descendants of the Dragonslayer family.

Expelled from his family for possessing the talent of a Healer instead of a swordsman.

Zeke struggled desperately to become stronger, only to face a miserable death.

At the moment of his death, strange letters appeared before his eyes.

[The soul of the Elder Dragon is engraved into the spirit of the one who possesses will.]

[An irrevocable and promised power is activated.]

When he regained consciousness, he opened his eyes twenty years in the past, in the family that had abandoned him.

“If I can become stronger, I will use anything at my disposal.”

A new awakening with an immortal power.

The legend of a Dragonslayer with a different class begins.

Very mild spoilers ahead.

Pacing is one of my biggest problems in webnovels. They tend to drag things out to increase page/viewcounts, turning even excellent stories into slogs. That is not a problem here - the pacing is relatively fast, though admittedly too fast in parts but still solid.

The only problem I have with this story is that in every new situation the author falls back on, "Well, he's a regressor who had to do a bunch of sh*t after he was kicked out of his family in his previous life."... more>> Needs to go on a stealth mission? He was an assassin in the underworld. Runs into people from faraway places? He happened to interact with them and knows their language and culture. Meets someone that later becomes famous or would be useful? He knew them personally and knows how to target their weak points or manipulate them to join his side. The list goes on.

Overall, I'd say this is about a 4 star, but I gave it a 5 to balance out the overall rating. <<less

This got pretty old pretty quick. Like MaceWaldo said, the author ab*ses the hell out of the MCs previous life. By the time I stopped reading, we find out that he speaks like 7 languages. The pacing is just too fast. It jumps from one crisis to the next. You can't just maintain a constant state of high tension, it just gets old after awhile.

My biggest gripe though, is that the MC is given just a ton of ridiculously strong abilities and equipment. Then the author spends the entire story... more>> finding ways to justify the MC not using any of it. Every situation he's in so far, he could easily just annihilate everyone but nah. He's gotta hide his identity or his skills or his gear because reasons. So back to what I said about it being one crisis after another, why should I care about the supposed bad situation in the novel when the MC is using like 25% of his powers and gear at any given time? It just gets old.

The writing also really doesn't explain much. The scenery, the travel, the people, most things just arent explained. It's just the MC being in a situation and talking to people. Then all of a sudden the MC is in another part of the world, in a new situation, and you'll be lucky to have a single sentence describing how he got there, how long it took, that sort of thing. So quite often you're left wondering when exactly it is in the storyline. Because sometimes he travels for weeks and it just skips that detail until later.

Lastly, the author really doesn't know wtf he wants to do with this story. It's ripped off elements from a dozen stories so far. I really started losing interest once he met captain hook, who's chasing after Peter Pan, to find the pirate kings treasure. Yeah I'm being serious, that's a thing.

Okay really lastly, if you're reading it for that harem tag well I wouldn't hold my breath. I think it's actually a harem of men. He's shown zero interest in women so far, to the point of one of his buddies wondering if he likes the baloney pony. Women are introduced in the story for whatever reason, and just used to show that the MC is completely indifferent to them, then he moves on with his buddies. <<less

A great start to a story that was ruined.

Like the other guy said, the MC never fully uses his abilities at any time due to convoluted reasons. If it were just that, it wouldn't be a problem, but the MC has trouble every fight cause he needs to hide, and it gets boring real quick.

Romance is s*upid, the MC can read the emotions of others when he needs to, but he doesn't understand when a a shordy loves him, until she says it to his face. Even then, it isn't... more>> explored.

Ending was pretty obvious,
Spoiler

sh*t father is the big bad or some nonsense like that.

[collapse]

He gets strong really quickly, but then stops growing, and he needs to hide his growth anyway, so it doesn't even matter. It rips off a lot of good stories, which is why I started, but it ended up being a generic Korean MC that hides his strength and doesn't understand women. <<less

4/5

The MC feels fresh even when this a oversaturated genre.

Love anything related to magic, knights, dragon setting. I actually enjoy the pace of the novel unlike any other I feel the author doesn't waste time between segment's/quests/arcs?.

Very enjoyable reading and the team doing the translation (ippo translations) its very fast and accurate and will normally add the original phrase if the meaning its a bit odd.
