At the moment when the sun went down, Mother Earth finally got tired of the parasites on her body, and suddenly exploded with natural disasters for the sake of one hundred.

One by one bizarre fragments floated past before her eyes. Before her consciousness dissipated, Mo Xiaoyao grabbed one of them and got into the dungeon.

When she arrived at her destination after a thousand hardships, what appeared in front of her was a huge cruise ship.

Under the gangway, the man in the shipmate’s uniform bowed to her: “Ma’am, are you getting on board?”

Mo Xiaoyao looked at his octopus-like face with a calm expression: “Of course.”

One day in 24-year-old Mo Xiaoyao’s natal year*, the earth suddenly exploded. She thought she was going to die, but after touching the magic fragment, she entered the dungeon world and began her cruise journey. The racetrack in the mist, the weird circus, the seemingly casual but mu*derous hot spring town, the tragic team battles where human beings have to kill each other… The only goal of struggling to survive was to reach end point of the cruise ship alive with her companions – to Paradise.

*natal year in Chinese zodiac is a year where a person’s age equal to a multiple of 12.

5 stars for the first half, 1 start for the second half.

I MTL-ed most of this novel, so take it with a grain of salt. Story starts of confusing because we enter the apocalypse straight away, no foreplay, just straight into the game. MC, along with her initial 2 companions, wins the initial game which I assume gives them the right to enter the Doomsday Cruise. What follows are a series of games where MC and her friends enter instances or games, that they then have to clear. It kind... more>> of reminds me of The Earth is Online. Also, imagine MTL-ing the Earth is Online, and you would probably get the same comprehension as I got from the games from this novel. Was it smart game? Was the way the MC cleared the instance clever? Did they use some fancy logic or math to fool the game/host and escape? I will never know because I didn't rally understand the nuances that got completely lost in the machine translation. But all I know is that the games were cleared successfully and that's good enough for me.

The romance started of light and promising and then fell flat, along with everything else in the second half of the novel. The games became boring and I lost total interest. Which was a shame because the author could have made it great. I was so excited after the team battle where their cruise ship had to dock at a supply station and were forced to battle another cruise ship. This obviously leads to questions like, there other cruises? Who is doing this? Why do we have to battle? After the team battle (and I forgot to mention that everyone has gained powers), the cruise ships is upgraded and things like guild functions open up, along with so many other possibilities, but the author never goes down this route, much to my disappointment. I thought MC and her friends would get stronger and create their own team and dominate the games, but that never really happens.

The ending was a hot mess and makes no sense. I have no words for it. <<less

it was good but ended too quickly. It is like a kid who studies hard to reach a top university only to stop after entering middle school because someone confesses to him/her and ended their story by holding hands and walking toward the sunset. -_-

hey, you forgot the school has not ended yet!!

it was a bit unsatisfied.

I’m only at the start of the novel but I can assure you that this will likely be a very good survival read. The first game that it features is quite unique, and the introduction to the start of the end of the MC’s regular life is detailed enough without going overboard.
