Living for the sole aim of escaping!

‘Light of Rusbella’ was a depressing romance novel.

Wishing for a new life, Asili Rosé was reborn as the daughter of the 8th wife of the Estrian Emperor.

She thought she was born with a golden spoon, but it was actually just a gilded spoon?

Once she realized that nothing but ruin awaited, she found a diary foreshadowing the future…

It foretold Asili’s death by the hands of the Crown Prince, Castor!

[“What does the empire mean to you?” After asking this, the Crown Prince smiled so very beautifully. And then he killed me.] Unfortunately, Asili kept coming back to life, and continued to be killed over and over again. As she continued to relive her deaths, she slowly lost her smile and changed.

…Let’s try to survive first.

__

“What can I do for my elder brother?”

“Well.”

__

Pale sky blue hair fluttered finely in the wind. He smiled weakly, before parting his dry lips.

“Call my name.”

“…”

My head quickly snapped up.

“Call me… Amor.”

His fingertips skimmed along my inner wrist.

Before reading this novel, one should know that this novel is focused on mystery and the FL herself and her psychological state, not in romance.

The reason I love this novel seems a lot why I also loved Death is the Only Ending for the Villainess, although I don't like harem/reverse harem: there is a deep feeling of hopelessness and despair in every chapter. The FL is very depressed, but still struggling to survive to the best of her abilities, although she doesn't have much hope.

I can't really say the reviews... more>> about how there is a lot of "unnecessary stuff in the chapters" are completely wrong. Yes, the chapters are flourished and confusing, but I think the descriptions and events in the chapters are related to how the FL's mind works - she is deeply traumatized and her mind doesn't function on a straight line - she is broken and it shows. I think that's also why the novel has this dream-like atmosphere - things are confusing, but at the same time, stunningly beautiful, with the ever-present possibility of everything turning into a nightmare fast.

All in all, yes, this novel is confusing, but I really like it. It's not to everyone's tastes though.

Thanks a lot to the translator's hard work! <<less

This is a really maddening novel, that I'm tempted to give it 2 stars but still held back because I still want to know more. The problem with this novel is the sheer amount of garbage paragraphs of non important things like inane conversation and boring descriptions that you could skip nearly half the page and you still understand everything. There's no point talking about the beauty of MCs sibling if this is not an in*est novel, but somehow there's pages of it. The timeline jump around and the page... more>> cut off in the most awkward places you often get confused.

The problem is even with all these problems the plot and the mystery is hooking me enough I can't just dust my hand off it. I hope the author got their act together in future chapters and don't write just to fill up minimum character counts. <<less

At first, it's quite a slow-paced novel. The author seems to be a little hesitant about bringing this story to the world and starts rambling on about stuff. Things are sometimes hard to comprehend due to the want to relay information. It's quite easy to drop it at the beginning, but it just gets better and better. It is around chapter 25 when the story starts picking up its pace. (I know that seems like a long time but some information needs to be conveyed.) The summary starts making sense,... more>> her feelings are well conveyed, and the story starts becoming what it was supposed to be.

The story is quite bold and the translation is good. And if you ever need clarification of the current chapter, look in the comments and the translator notes; the story can get confusing at times and some people can grasp it better than others. ^^ <<less

She's actually the daughter of the 8th wife of the emperor. The summary is slightly off. A pretty interesting story so far, though a little bit convoluted/confusing at certain times. The diary idea is pretty fun. I'm hoping it picks up the pace a little because they have spent so much time explaining everything. As someone who has read a lot of these transmigration stories I've gotten a little tired of the expanded explanations. I still think this story has a lot of promise though, hence the 4 stars.

This is one of those stories you have to carefully read and absorb every chapter, don't binge, otherwise you will be confused... 55 chapters in so far and it felt like 300...

The perspective is mostly from the MC... which is sometimes unreliable, random or incomplete, she is hard to follow or understand at times especially when she reflects on various perspectives of her life unfolding, deconstructing, regenerating and unraveling around her forcefully in violence, tragically unable to share her torment...

The MC is pitiful, as a reader you feel helpless watching... more>> her struggle, it's exhausting... Frustrating yet undeniably fascinating... <<less

In my opinion the novel is really good. Some people are complaining about the unnecessary long paragraphs and slow pacing, but I don't really mind it because the story is interesting and I want to know what's going to happen next.

we're almost 100 chapters in and there's no romance. Tbh if I didn't read the spoilers I'd have no idea who's the male lead is

The writing of this novel is terrible. So many unnecessarily long paragraphs that add nothing to the story, so many conversations that don't advance the plot or add to characters depth and understanding.

Not to mention, the story keeps giving random information that explains nothing. It goes between MC's first life, her current life, then her predicted future life without drawing a clear boundary as to what life she's even in and what she knows. Random names and information get thrown in to the story with no explanation, and it's near... more>> impossible to decipher what's going on in a scene.

The plot is actually intriguing, too bad the writing is abysmal, and the author has no idea how to leverage "show don't tell".

TLDR; really bad writing, the first few chapters absolutely will confuse you. If you do read this story, have a list of spoilers on hand or read the chapter comments to get a better understanding as to what just happened. <<less

I didn't have account until I read this awful novel. It is so bad that I had to make an account to post. Half of the monologs can be cut. They are just unecesary. I hate the way Castor and the Emperor are written. The auther just doesn't know how to write such characters.

When her 40 deaths started is the spot I lost interest in the way they were build. It is like she didn't get anything from them. I don't know is the author Korean or an asian but... more>> it is seen how he favours the male population. After those 40 deaths the Amor arc is boring as hell.

I don't suggest starting this novel. It is god awful. Reminds me of Lucia which I liked at the beginning but then it turned into a raping shit. I read it till the end but never a 2nd time and deleted it from my folders. This novel is again the same sh*t from different angle. What is wrong with having characters like Cleopatra, Ann Bolein, Ekatherina the Great. A political, feminin beasts. <<less

I like this novel. It's original and I like how the FL personality is. Sometimes is confusing because there's a lot tha we still don't know. The FL doesn't know everything even thought she transmigrated and it's a novel thst quite refresing.

It's confusing when it starts to give infoormation of the novel's world like when they explain the thing of the templars and the gods...

I still don't know who the male lead is, even when in the description they say that is Amor but I don't know. I like him... more>> but I feel like he's more second male lead vibes. Well, it's still to early so far it has 55 chaapters and there's no important information about why she revives, the FL assumes it' s because of the diary but theres no confirmation.

There hasn't been any important interaction with Amor or anything. I don't understand why but I like Castor more than Amor.

I recomend this novel but to read slowly because it gives a lot of information, I had to read it twice to fully understand mostly. <<less

It's not a good-old romance story in any sense rather it's a mystery thriller genre. If you came after reading the manhwa like me and expected a light romance then don't read this twisted book it's full of despair and pain. It would've been great if translation quality was a bit higher but you live with what you get so can't complain too much about it also it seemed like the author liked to write a lot of unnecessary and boring paragraphs to try to ward off readers from reading... more>> further somehow

Spoiler
[collapse]

after reading MCs tragedy I really wanted original FL to at least suffer a bit as well so it would feel like it's kinda fair because it felt like MC was receiving all the sufferings original FL had to go through in an alternative universe or something <<less

Like the other reviewers, I completely agree with their accessment of the story being horribly written.

Therr are long boring paragraphs and there really is nothing to read for. There aren't events, and if there are, they're meaningless events with no purpose or ties to anything else.

The characters are not boring, but the way they talk and act is just dull.

... more>> The translator also doesn't know what's going on sometimes either, with the footnotes saying they don't know what going on or how the translated thing is translated.

It reads slowly like a slice of life but attempts to maintain the intrigue and mystery of a different genre, but terribly.

How many chapters can you gawk and awe about magic and gods? Split up the world building and give me info that is important. <<less
