OMG!

That's all I can say about this oneshot. It's AMAZING.

This is probably the smartest female lead ever in the history of chinese novels. I'm so glad I came upon this oneshot.

Thank you translator for bringing this masterpiece to life.

This isn't a romantic oneshot, but almost a revenge one

Spoiler

She and the emperor miraculously swap bodies after they both almost drown.

The emperor's cousin poisons the emperor (in MC's body) and MC (in emperor's body) feeds it to him. So the real emperor in her original body is dead.

Thus, MC will live on as the emperor, raise her child with the emperor well and kill that cousin of the emperor as well

OMG, I really didn't see it coming. I thought this would be another comedy story about body-swapping with a sweet happy ending. It turned out, it was more than that.

This story was about the emperor and one of his consort, Noble Consort Rong, who swapped bodies after falling into water. When he became her consort, the emperor finally knew the real face of his empress and his other concubines.

In the past, the emperor used Noble Consort Rong as a shield for his true love, Noble Lady Ya. Noble Consort Rong became the object of persecutions because of emperor's "favor". The emperor regretted his past action and promised to treat Noble Consort Rong well after they came back to their bodies.

Little did he knew that Noble Consort Rong held grudges in her heart and rather became an emperor herself rather than being a noble consort. As for the emperor? He was fed by a poisoned food that was prepared by his own beloved, Noble Lady Ya and died silently.

The story was already great as it was but if I think it would be great too if the author made it a bit longer because I want to see more of Noble Consort Rong in the aftermath. <<less

One of a kind novel

It's a beautifully written short story that leave you with longing for more chapters. I really want to see mc's next move and want to see her scheming and pitting those people 😂🤭

3.5 stars rounded down to 3.

I like the writing. I like the idea. I really really dislike the plot, I hate the fact the synopsis spilled the beans. Could have been done much much better if the author managed to preserve the surprises.

If you read the synopsis above you should be able to figure out most of how this story goes and that's quite sad. First because it has you looking for what it has told you is there. Second because there is no reason for the reader to know... more>> and coming to the conclusion should be the highlight of the story.

That said, the writing and translation are very good, and it's pretty easy to get into the MC's head and empathize.

Bottom Line: Reads Quick. <<less
