Cute story where it is the ML who is clearly obsessed with FL and does whatever possible to have her stay by his side. They’re kid, Illian, is quite adorable.. He pretends to stutter and act simple minded infront of his mum to gain her attention and affection when in actual fact he is a genius. The antics of father and son in trying to ‘fight’ for attention of FL is quite funny.

I don't know why there are no reviews when this is a gem! I love how there is some kind of plausible explanation why both are strongly attracted to each other even when they only knew each other for a day. I also love Illian so much!! A genius pretending to be an idiot because he wants to be spoiled by his mother! *The only downside was ML manipulating FL to staying (he still gives her a chance to choose, though her choice is already determined based on the choices)... more>> but it is quite acceptable if you read the story.

If you are looking for a family plot (w lil smut) and some fluff, this is 10/10 <<less

If you're looking for the child first then romance later on, this is for you!! I really love how the story is going so far!! The battle between the ML and Illian (ML and Fl's child) is so entertaining to watch. I also like how both of them have a sad past and rely on each other for comfort. I salute translator-nim for the good job in translating and for the constant update! Thank you so much for this and hoping to see more of FL and Ml's relationship :D

This series is a tricky one for me. Whilst I do like the setup, general plot, characterization and world-building, the smut seems out of place. The s*x scenes feel like whiplash to me as a reader, letting down what is a really good translation from BiB. Smut is not a bad thing. However, the smut should at least add to the story rather than distract is a character-driven tale. That being said, it is still a better story than some of the stories I have come across recently which are... more>> like somebody threw lawn darts over a bunch of premises and then forgot to tie them all together in any regard after the pieces of paper got wet with dew. <<less

Heya, Proofreader Ame here! I thought I had written a review for this, but clearly not till now ^^;

One of the most completed and well-rounded stories I've read/worked on: the world building is solid and the major characters have clear motivations, goals, and relevant backstory. The villains are cheap, but not in-your-face to the point that it distracts from the story.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Truthfully, I don’t connect well with both Rosena and Yerhan, I even find them kinda wooden at times, but their love/lovestory... more>> is sweet and I love how understanding and communicative they try to be!! Little Illian being a devilish angel (or should it be angelic devil?) certainly boosted the overall tone of the novel! (〃▽〃)

The side stories were amazing, I think it fulfilled everything I could ever want in side stories. The only way it could've been better is if there's those "what if..." kind of extras, but that's just me being greedy and asking for a mile when the author has already given more than an inch.

If only the author will hear me pleas about a sequel with Illian as the main character...

5 stars! I wonder whether those who gave this novel 1 or 2 stars are ghost? Seriously how?

The great things

  1. Amazing translations! High quality translation. Each chapters are long, so you feel really satisfied reading them. And the formatting made the reading more enjoyable. They work fast too. Really grateful for your hardwork!
  2. Interesting and engaging plotline. We found out about why the attraction between them are so extreme, why Yerhan changed into a different person when he fights, who Rosena truly is etc.
  3. The characters. I love Yerhan man. His steadfastness towards her is commendable. Loyal af, and everything he did, he put Rosena first. Rosena was amazing on the first half, she was strong and intelligent. But one the second half, she became a bit wishy-washy and keep on dragging with he loves me, he loves me not. And Illian the cutie, I love his and Yerhan petty fight for Rosena affection lol.
  4. The smut!! There are not many smuts in this, maybe 4 or 5? But that's enough imo. If not this novel would be just erotica.
A very satisfying read. Recommended

This feels like reading old fantasy romance novels.

The FL (Rosena) is the typical heroine in Disney or Wattpad stories. She's kind, caring & got animal charmer power... but she also tend to be indecisive and run away from problems instead of proper communication. I think the whole novel was dragged bc of her being emotionally confused and other indecisions.

For ML (Yerhan), I actually find him as green flag tho. He was so patient to FL despite being emotionally hurt with FL's doubts. He and his mini Yandere got cute interactions... more>> that actually carried the whole plot.

For supporting characters, they were 2D and there's too many canon-fodders being sacrificed. <<less

Again a perfectly balanced relationship between leads but with the cheap villains on the side... I'm so tired reading the same petty fake-family and evil imperials BUT! I'll be not cutting points from these. I'm here to read cliches anyway. It's contradictious yes... Well at least I warned you.

Even though the story dragged, miscommunication took place of the plot and the main leads got stuck to their empty stubbornness for creating more drama... I WAS VERY ENTERTAINED. Especially the father-son duo had the perfect aspect to love this... more>> novel.

I was engaged with the story. Also glad that I waited for the translation to be over because I'd want my hand intact without punching any concrete wall after all the pure fury I had.

ANYWAY, the ending is nicely balanced, it's good, don't mind my nitpicking.

This story is cute and fresh - the smut is sparse, but definitely different than in most of the novels. There are no ML mansplaining that FL want to have s*x with them - it’s consensual and cautious. If you want wild scenes of lovemaking - look somewhere else. ML adores FL and fights for her, their child is cute and the translation is one of the best I’ve seen in a while. Translating Team is working fast and their chapters are long enough to keep you satiated till the... more>> next release (which will come very fast!). And they’re doing an amazing job. The MC is soooo frustrating! I like the concept of the story and I wanna see the crown prince and the empress to suffer so I'm pushing through... But it's just SOOOOOOO frustrating!!

The MC is the "NO I DO NOT LOVE HIM.... or do I? NO NO I DON'T" kinda person and she KEEEPS doing it!!

Cliche plot as it is, but I think its a good novel. Love how it was well written and well translated. Not much chapter only 100ish till completed but I love how each chapter is long. There's smut in a small amount of chapter and I love how they have the disclaimer in every chapter with smut parts lol.

I love the cute interactions of the family members, mom dad and son. I love how it didn't take a long time for them to realize that they're in love and be... more>> stuck in misunderstandings..

If I had to say something it would be that I don't like the FL much.

She doesn't really think. Her thought process is shallow as a puddle. Most of her actions are protected by the plot, but you can't see a drop of forethought.

Maybe because of the perspective it is written in. But her actions are brainless or mostly justified by one or two unreasonable reasons and all the other ways she could accomplish things that are easier or more logical or brings some benefits, are completely ignored as if... more>> they don't exist and it's a matter of fact that she does things the s*upid way.

Also, someone commented how in the first half she was smart. Yeah. I fear the second half.

Maybe I'll retry it later. But mostly.... it's not my cup of tea. I like my FL strong and/or smart and/or determinate. <<less

I thought I was going to go insane at how soap opera this novel is at the 2nd half. And from what I understand, the translation team has already combined chapters? I hate to think how reading it from kakaopage must feel. Regardless, it was a fun read, the side stories are so good. Too bad the art of the manhwa is a little wonky.

LOVELY AND LIGHT. Is this epic or groundbreaking? No. But it was a fun read. The length of this was just right. And while there was palace intrigue, it didn't overshadow the entire novel. If I had to be specific about why I liked it, I'd say three things: characterization [not deep but delightful], anti-imperialism thread [not plot essential, but a fun twist] and translation [smooth sentences and witty comments]. I gave more deets below.

1 - Characterization: There's a wonderful tension between appearance [or reputation] and reality with the... more>> three main characters.

  • The ML is rumored to be ugly, wicked and cowardly while in reality he is a handsome, brave yandere who battles monsters in the crown prince's name.
  • The FL has a firm sense of what is right, she is rumored to be soft and malleable in society. But instead she is adept, clever and vicious as necessary... except for with her family members who shamelessly feign weakness and s*upidity in order to gain her attention. She remains clueless as they vie for priority.
  • The son [is he the 2ML?] is believed to be less intelligent because he feigns a stutter and a lisp. He still savors being read fairytales by his mother until well into his pre-teens. But in reality he is both crazy smart and super manipulative [truly a mini-me of his father]. When he is given a bullying, classist tutor, the man is subdued within 48 hours and only follows his bidding.
2) Anti-imperialism sub-theme: Even the perception of the battles between humans and encroaching monsters is overturned. In moves that strangely echo what happened with US first peoples, their land was taken and they were essentially reduced significantly in numbers before being sent to a land of their own as compensation for having all their land taken.

3) Translation: Finally, Bluebells in Bloom translation was excellent. I didn't stumble over grammatical errors all the time so I could enjoy the reading as much as the content. I was surprised when the translator mentioned that this author didn't have any novels picked up as manhwas because this could be a great graphic novel. <<less

This novel was frustrating enough until I wanted to throw my phone away several times. The angsts was way too dragging. I mean, when I thought that the happy ending was finally here, the author added another unnecessary misery one after the other just to prolong the angst. Thankfully, the ending was sweet enough and the author gave plenty of side stories to soothe my wounded heart. And also, good job for the translator for the amazing translation as always.

So I guess divorce didn't really happen in the end? Misleading title. I'm one who's a fan of women getting divorced and standing strong on their own without a man. After all, not all stories need romance. Well, the novel is good, but sorry this ain't my cup of tea. Good translation though.

Plain af, infuriating, predictable, unmoving.

Istg the synopsis make this story sound way more interesting than it actually is.

The only character that is worthy and enjoyable to read is the kid: Illian. Smart yet childish.

... more>> That's it. Secondary characters are as important as the tapestries. Villain out of the mold of mainstream evilness. A myth that it's more all talk than action and sub-par smut scenes. Definitely not measuring up to expectations.

The romance was rushed af. ML is a simp, but the worst kind: a shell. I mean, we know he's a good lad, but we can't really delve on that because he is just a ghost following the super wonderful amazing average protagonist.

The thing is... that at some point I had had enough. I got TIRED of this bit*h ISTG.

Like, fiiiiiiiiiiine, you don't want, can't, won't, whatever love him. FINE. Still! At least treat him with the minimum amount of respect and politeness he deserves!!

This bit*h promised to act as if they were a happy couple and for the life of me she hasn't acted at all like that.

Let's see. She defended him once! Once and after so many insults from the crown prince.

Never said a good thing about him to anyone, let alone hold his hand when out, even if there was no circumstantial need. Not a single smile at him!

It upsets me to this day her attitude towards how he treats her.

He behaves like she's the rarest, most beautiful treasure has ever been and, what's Rosena's response? Either acts like it was weird (whatever it was) and/or plays indifference, feeling a bit weird inside. Or! She thanks him as if he did something over the top.

Out of place reactions to his caring behavior towards her.

Like, I don't think you can have it both ways.

Or you act as if what he does is nothing or something unnecessary. As if she has been always been treated like that by everyone, or... you act grateful and acknowledge what he does for you, from the smallest to the biggest act; surprised by his thoughtful actions.

She plays push and pull with him and... I should be okay with that?!

She's not obligated to reciprocate his feelings, but then don't use him and mislead him! For God's sake be consequent with your words and actions!

Rosena supposedly had to grow up faster than her peers because life got hard, SAME AS YERHAN, but can't be a grown up when it comes to him. Yeah yeah feelings can mess up with your head, but she is too much!

Not a single reason to support this couple or even the protagonist. Which is the main point of this romantic story.

Only thanks to the translator this was readable GOD! <<less

I gave this novel 5 stars, primarily because of the male lead who is so endearing and precious that I felt an urge to protect him. His deep love for the female lead and their child is heartwarming, and his moments of jealousy over their child added a touch of humor that I thoroughly enjoyed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Also confused why this one isn't rated higher. I unapologetically loved this one. The translation was excellent as always (Bluebells in Bloom is one of my FAVORITE translation teams because not only is the TL always really good the comments are HILARIOUS. It always takes me longer to read their stuff because I get caught up in the conversations and it's always a blast.

This one was REALLY cute. I have to admit the Yandere Dad and Mini Yandere battle was probably the funniest part for me. Illian, psychologically,... more>> is the spitting image of Yerhan, and is CONVINCED he has nothing to do with his father. Rosenia is a strong heroine internally and psychologically tough, and that's a more unusual combination. She works HARD to make a place for herself and I truly respect that. Her family and Yerhan's are both absolute tr*sh but I love how they both recognize that they're broken people and try to make themselves whole. They end up being an excellent couple and the whole story is very wholesome. As someone else mentioned, if you want a kid first then true love story, this is definitely for you! <<less

Hands down, this is one of the best novels I've read. The story flows nicely with good characters and attraction and love that survived conflicts and test of time. I am looking forward to the side stories.
