Had to drop this at ch23...

Normally, misunderstandings are fine for me to read, but this novel just felt really frustrating. The amount of communication here is off the charts, and by off the charts I mean nonexistent.

I'll start with saying that the FL is the most frustrating character because she never has a thorough conversation about the event of the past with the ML. The ML "feigns" ignorance/doesn't know why she keeps bringing it up, leaving FL to think to herself that he's just lying to deceive her without even... more>> asking him directly. It seems that this was a deal-breaker for quite a lot of the reviewers on Ridi so take that as you will.

The ML can be a bit sweet and there is maybe some pity to be felt for him, but he's honestly a bit obsessive and toxic. It's lowkey in this story, but it's definitely there. I don't know if he's actually the culprit of what happened to the FL in high school or if he's being framed, but that is no excuse for how he plotted the FL to be in a relationship with him.

ML on purposely made it seem like they were a couple in front of his awful mother, knowing that his mom would then do everything to make the FL's life a living hell. He told the FL that he'll keep mentioning it to his mother until the FL literally has no option but to need his help (aka be in a relationship). He even went as far as to remind the FL that her sister could be indirectly killed by his mother (by having hospitals/surgeons refuse to operate on the sister) which in my opinion, completely changes the way you see the ML. He knew what his actions amounted to and yet all he cares about is the FL's life, not her family's.

Maybe that's considered strong love or whatever but it's straight up a red flag that ultimately made me want to drop the novel. I don't know about character growth or the truth of what happened to the FL, but it just didn't feel worth it to continue reading.

Also if you're here for smut, then I hope you like plot as well or else this is not the story for you. 23 chapters in and it's mainly kissing marked as R19. The translation is good but sometimes those... 'R19' noises read very awkwardly and strange... <<less

I’m reading this with full frustration 😌

The FL is not attractive at all!!! what’s wrong with her?! She just being hot & cold for the whole time!!! Very inconsistent & somehow too annoying!

Girl, learn to communicate! Tell him (ML) the true story, not overthinking by yourself! Geez...

... more>> ML is super dominant & overbearing! I’m questioned his taste on woman, you still want this girl even after 8 years?! Really?! Not worth it, dude! 😬

This is super standard romance novel : Cinderella genre (poor girlxSuper rich man), contractual relationship troupe.

Who’s love miscommunication cp can read this, if not, do not even try. 🤐

If you hate misunderstandings you are going to hate this one. I on the other hand am enjoying all the angst. The ML can be a bit of a b*tch, but honestly I don’t think he’s that bad. He thinks she broke up with him because she found someone else/ was swindling him and is angry and wants revenge. She breaks up with him because he allegedly was the reason she got kicked out of high school and reputation was ruined. I say allegedly because it is not truly... more>> clear if he did. I think it was his brother or mom that did it since they seem to want to control the ML love life. No full s*x scenes yet, just some fondling and making out. Lots of tension and angst- at chapter 73 and the ML is just now realizing that she broke up with him because he did something. Now he is trying to figure out what he did. It’s a very cliché novel, but that’s why I like it. He has not done anything to harm her and is very protective over her which is refreshing. Most of time with these revenge novels they treat the FL like shit. <<less
