Reborn to 1996, Bei Yao became a four-year-old little dumpling, living opposite the world’s catastrophic devil who had a crush on her twenty years later. Devil Pei Chuan was now five years old, with disabled legs and inferiority complex.

Later they became seventeen, Bei Yao became a “school flower” of her high school. Pei Chuan froze, clasped his wheelchair tightly, and warned her, “Don’t say you like me, or else …” Bei Yao hugged his neck and smiled sweetly at him. Pei Chuan couldn’t help but hold her waist, and his suppressed emotions broke out. Belonging to his heart for two lives, Bei Yao wanted to know what the devil was like.

This story is well written with amazingly detailed & realistic characters but I can NOT finish it. The angst was simply too much for me. I'm honestly afraid to continue, only to find that it ends sadly.

i really loved this novel I cried alot at the end. Also regarding to criticism by cler 1. I think the kidnapping at the end is useful to make peichuan realise what beiyao has for him is not sympathy but love and also it is to tie up the lose ends of beiyao rebirth and let ML know. 2. When they had their first time I didnt like the fact that FL was intoxicated but they were in the mood for it so whatever. But then later on FL says... more>> it hurts alot and wants to stop. ML struggled alot because he was already in the middle of doing it but ultimately he stopped. SO IT ISNT r*pe. Oh and also she got sick because he didnt clean her up, but I dont think the ML is tr*sh for doing that because like he said he didnt know that she had to clean up after s*x and he is a virg*n too. Anyways I recc. This novel alot!! I get that ML personality is very difficult to like but for me when I see how his environment is like and he literally had no one there to care for him, except FL of course, I dont really blame him that much. The problem lies with his tr*sh parents so yeah <<less

I love this novel so much. Well I know the ML in the first novel kinda as***le but yeah, turned out

Spoiler

he is overly simping our MC lmao. In past life and present life.

If you wanna another simping ML u guys can read novel Only You.

Btw I read it in MTL and kinda felt weird with bonus chapter, cuz in the past life the FL is dead but turn out she alive again. I think its because the chip ML invented. Also in that chapter, the MC still in 19 and ML is already 27. So idk why it can be like that.

Sometime I cant get the detail about time progressing. When I read it, suddenly the MC its already has a child who just get a labor and a few words later the child is already a toddler.

[collapse]

Well in conclusions, JUST READ THE NOVEL AND DONT READ THE SPOILER BECAUSE IT'S JUST KILL THE FEELING WHEN U READ IT, right? :) <<less

I love this novel so much. I don't know why I kept delaying on reading it but I'm happy I was able to and finished it in one sitting.

Pei Chuan is really pitiful throughout his early life but I'm glad he somehow broke all his walls for the MC.

Bei Yao is very lovable and I'm happy that she did not retain her memories all throughout but just knew she had to treat Pei Chuan better so we saw how really fell for him.

Anyway, the alternative world. Omg, I'm just happy... more>> that even if it sounds illogical, they had a happy ending too. <<less

I've been recently into the slice of life genre and I can't help but always feel healed when I read such stories.

I love everything about this book. From the tragic events to the happy ones. Stories like this one makes you feel like there's still hope for humanity.

Our FL went back to the past but didn't have all her 20+ years of memories intact. Instead, she gradually regains it as she grows older. This is because her body could not take all those memories. (This one is very unique. I've... more>> always read that they had complete memories intact with the little details which for me was a bit unrealistic. Good that this one's different.)

ML had a tragic event where his legs were chopped off as a result from his father's work.

For all our ML's life, his disability had always been his insecurity. This is where our FL comes in and heals his scars and makes him have a more positive outlook in life.

I swear, the novel is really unique. The characters, emotions, and events there are breathing and oozing with life. This book is simply a must-read. <<less

Okay so let's talk. Going into this novel I had very high expectations looking at the other reviewers, and I have to say I'm somewhat- maybe dissapointed. Not to say, that this isn't good novel, I've given it a 3/5 star review but I don't think I can go on. (Although there is a lovely recount over every event at the spoiler thread, which I did read.)

This novel centers about Bei Yao (our MC) who in her last life acted as a replacement/scapegoat to her sh*tty ex-bf Huo Xu.... more>> In this life she is reborn as her 4 year old self who
Spoiler

remembers her last life in full and writes down the main events that led to her death. Then after she loses most of her memories. Although with every year she grows up she gains a couple years knowledge in advance until her 3rd year of highschool where her memory of the future stops.

[collapse]

The one sentiment that our Bei Yao remembers is that she should act kindly towards Pei Chaun. This is either out of respect for what he did for her in their last life or in hopes of reforming this "devil."

So let's talk Pros:

-This novel will probably never bore you. We go through this journey from their childhood to adulthood. I found that through most of the novel I was rooting for both of them.

-The main characters: Bei Yao is a sweetie. She's not a Mary Sue but acts very human like. She does what she can and she isn't too OP except for a bit of knowledge for the future that she uses for her studies. Pei Chaun- I could deeply feel his struggles with feeling inadequate and self-esteem struggles. Through most of this novel,
Spoiler

he doesn't allow himself to ever think of the MC and him together because of his disability. This often causes him to make certain choices or extreme decisions because he believes it's what he deserves.

[collapse]

-The relationship can be very sweet.

-There's a lot of intrigue in past events for Bei Yao in her last life/family drama for Pei Chaun.

Cons:

(For me at least)

- This novel can be quite frustrating in how dramatic some of the events turn. As an example
Spoiler

the ML Pei Chaun turns himself into the police for his computer dealings in the underworld and doesn't try to advocate for a better sentence since he doesn't believe he deserves it. He mainly does this as he feels it'll be better for the MC.

[collapse]

Another example is how the
Spoiler

ML beats a wild dog (infected by rabies) to death after it almost harms MC's baby brother.

[collapse]

Although I don't mind dramatic things most of the time, I wasn't under the impression that this novel would be like that so that's why I would describe it as a con.

If you're okay with a bit of angst, dramatic moments, etc. Give it a chance. A lot of other reviews loved this. :) <<less

This story hooked me up that I didn't sleep the whole night. 4/5 as there are no perfect stories. FL is lovable, ML... you might not love him and he may act like an a**hole, but his behavior is understandable.

Spoiler

Honestly, Pei Chuan's behavior is valid. It's not that Chuan is ungrateful and use his disability as a reason to be an a**hole. He lived a traumatic childhood believing that he will not be loved because of his disability. That his disability is a reason why his parents are divorced, that nobody wants him as if he's a dirt. He did not choose to loose his limbs. He grew up with an inferiority complex. He believe that he is not worthy of love, when in fact, he is. That despite how broken he is someone will love him.

At a young age, he was outcasted by everyone except her. She's the only one who sees him as Pei Chuan. She looked at him as a human being. Pei Chuan doesn't know what love is as he stopped recieving love and never recieved loved. He was abandoned, so how can he comprehend that someone would love him?

[collapse]

I want to hug FL and ML. I wished that in this world someone would love me like FL did to ML. May people who lost themselves and got abandoned because of it finds warmth. <<less

Okay, this was a very addictive read. I normally get bored with slice of life stories easily, but this one I read in one go and even lost some sleep over. It might not be for everyone since the ML is a very flawed character, but I thought the author handled the subject matter and characters really well.

The premise: Rebirth to correct mistakes in the past life and get a second chance seems to be a very common c-novel trope. But I liked the way it was handled here -... more>> the FL leaves only vague descriptions to herself, based on her disastrous choice in the last life, and feeling of gratitude and depth towards the ML because he was the only one who helped her before she died. And then, since the FL loses most of her memories and only regains a few, she doesn't become OP (like what often happens in rebirth/transmigration stories), but still has to live her life as new and figure things out relying on her intuition. She knows only that she needs to be nice to the ML, not that she should choose him over the guy she married in her past life.

The FL/MC: She's extremely kind and caring and has almost unlimited patience in the beginning, so much that at certain times I felt it was too much. But that's only when she's a child, and it can be argued that she probably has more patience with the FL because for most of her childhood, she's mentally older than him. I liked that for once, there's a MC where you can tell that the author tries to make them act rationally according to their circumstances and mental situation. Bei Yao is both influenced by her body's age and her past memories, and it's mentioned that her previous self was different, less calm and more of a sensitive crybaby. But because she's mentally older than the ML when they're children, she has much more tolerance for him than a normal child would. He does treat her badly (not abusive, but he's so dismissive and cold towards her that a normal child would not have been able to stand it), but her maturity and instinctive feeling that she must be kind to him, paired with her innate sweet and compassionate nature (she has a strong sense of justice and cares a great deal about others, these are her core personality traits as seen in her last life) makes her tolerant of this to a large degree.

I liked her most when she became mature enough to understand her feelings for the ML. It was a bit frustrating at times to see her be so oblivious, but considering her age, it's very understandable (she's almost 2 years younger than the ML, so he becomes romantically attached to her earlier because he matures before she does). And it's very gratifying when she finally realizes what she really feels and acts on it despite getting little encouragement from the ML. And the painful parts - damn, I felt worse for her than the ML, he was resigned and chose for himself, while she had no choice and was just powerless.

After she matures, she becomes more vocal in her feelings and fights against the ML's attempts to distance himself. In this she acts very realistic, I think any normal woman would get super pissed off if

Spoiler

the guy she liked kissed her and then out of 'noble idiocy'/inferiority complex didn't want to date her publicly or become intimate with her, or when you marry your sweetheart that you went through hell to keep (enduring years of separation and ridicule from your peers) and he says he won't sleep with you out of dumb sense of 'nobility' (it's really just idiocy on his part). Of course you'd get super angry at him, that's only rational. So I'm glad she reacted like that.

[collapse]

She does force the ML to face his feelings of inferiority by showing him that he's been all noble for no one except his own low self-esteem. So she stands up for her feelings and insist on loving the ML and being true to those feelings even when everyone is telling her to drop him.

She's also extremely brave and I will admit that 1-2 scenes made me tear up because of how brave and righteous she acts - it was really touching. The bravest people are the ones who are full of fear, but still stand up for others despite risking being targeted themselves.

The ML: The author handles his character well - he's not someone who's easy to love, and the FL also comments later on how badly he behaved as a child - even she is not blind to his flaws. The key to his behavior and cold personality (he pretty much alienates everyone throughout his childhood, even the FL) is not just that he's disabled, but how it happened. He was kidnapped and had his lower legs cut off and sent to his parents as retaliation against his policeman dad. So from the age of 4 he suffered a huge trauma, and on top of that everyone around him either feels sorry for him or treats him like he's a freak. The author shows how cruel children can be because of sheer ignorance, but the worst are how the adults either struggle to handle him in a good way or are indifferent or prejudiced against him. Even otherwise kind people see him as a lesser person, someone who can never have a proper life.

He shuts himself away and becomes a sinister, sociopath-like character partly because of the trauma and the prejudice from everyone around him, and partly because of his innate traits - he has above average intelligence and is very proud, introverted and stand-offish. Another type of person might have been able to handle his situation better.

I like that every time he decides to act 'noble' (aka like a dumb idiot) and give up the FL, there's a part of him that fights against this decision and he has moments where he decides to be selfish and go after her. This creates a push-pull dynamic between the main characters so it's not just the FL mindlessly pursuing him, but he also goes to great length to get her, but he only really makes an effort after he's certain that she wants to be with him.

The other characters: I liked that almost all the side characters where multi-faceted (except the stepmom, stepsister and the villains) and evolve as the story progresses. I didn't hate any of them, even the worst ones.

ML's parents: are pretty bad parents in the long run, even if the mom does try when the ML is small. But I think the trauma was too much for them, and that's very realistic - I don't know how anyone would get over the fact that their child was kidnapped and mutilated, neither the dad who has to live with the guilt that he was the cause, even though he was just doing his job and saving people, nor the mom, who gets sent her child's severed limps and has to live with that memory for the rest of her life. I think in that situation it's easier to run away, even if it means abandoning your child. It doesn't mean they don't love their son.

FL's parents: I liked how the author makes a point of the FL's mom having endured living in a very patriarchal family and how the story criticizes a system where women as seen as less than men, and daughters as less valuable than sons. The FL's parents are truly good and caring parents. It's easy to hate the mom because of her prejudice towards the ML (not wanting her daughter to be with a cripple), but in the end she doesn't truly prevent Bei Yao from being with Pei Chuan, and respects her daughters wishes and feelings. It also shows how deeply ingrained prejudice against handicapped people is, that even an otherwise good person like Zhao Zilan will reject Pei Chuan as a son-in-law.

The bullies: I loved Chen Hu and Fang Minjun and wishes the author had written their story in the extras.

The friends: Both the FL's and ML's friends were fleshed out well, but the ML's friends were the best of the best. It was so gratifying to see how they genuinely cared for him, and how they treated him as a person and looked up to him because he was smart and capable.

The things I didn't like so much: The camping arc felt kind of boring and a bit pointless, but I guess it was there to show how the ML gradually managed to grow closer to the FL after their first separation. Also the fact that they spent time together in a more friendly way made it easier to believe the transition from the FL feeling sympathy and a wish to take care of the ML to gradually falling in love with him as a person. So it was an okay arc, just a little draggy (I was also impatient to get to the romance after the very long childhood part).

The villains: were one-dimensional and boring. I didn't mind the final arc, but the part with

Spoiler

Huo Xu being obsessed with Bei Yao and believing her rebirth just like that felt kind of unrealistic.

[collapse]

I know the point of that arc was to help Pei Chuan realize exactly how much Bei Yao loved him, and get over his past trauma, and it worked well enough in that sense, but it was maybe a little exaggerated.

The sex:

Spoiler

Novels aren't supposed to be moral tales and don't have an obligation to be accurate depictions of s*x, but still... having the FL be drunk when they slept together for the first time was kind of uncomfortable, and the part where she gets sick partly because the ML didn't 'clean her up' after having s*x with her - that's just not how normal interc**rse works, you don't get sick from it. And why bring her to her family home to get better, when they have a perfectly good apartment? Why are fevers in cnovels always treated like the sick person is seriously ill?

[collapse]

But besides that, I'm glad the author wrote an FL who doesn't shy away from s*x and who makes it clear to the ML that she wants to be with him fully and acknowledges to herself that she's attracted to him.

All in all it's a good novel. Well-paced and a good romance novel with a sweet resolution. Almost everything was well fleshed out and the plot and characters progressed in a realistic way for this type of story. There are melodramatic elements, but they don't seem out of place since there's a point to them all, each arc develops the characters and their relationship. The ML is not your standard nice guy or idealized ML, but he does eventually grow as a person and make himself worthy of the FL's brave character, and as a reader it was gratifying to finally see them be happy together, they both deserved it. <<less

Slowburn? Check. Frustrating first love? Check. Emotionally-damaged but seriously hot ML? Check. HE? Doublecheck, but I assure you, this is going to be happiness with tears. I never much liked tear-jerker stories and this sure is one, but our reborn MC forgetting her memories of her past life is actually the best way to justify all her actions later on. Relying mostly on her intuition that she should take care of the physically-handicapped ML, their love story took one long bumpy road to emotional and psychological development. If there's one... more>> thing that will pull a reader into this, it's the MC who never wavered and the ML whose love is absolute (hey, who doesn't want someone who can love unconditionally). Never found them annoying, just their progress was as slow as them growing up in years lol. The author succeeded in giving me goosebumps which is a feat, having read hundreds of stories I rarely feel emotional now, but this one sure moved me. <<less

Many reviewer is angry for FL.

In Asian countries, it always like this "your kid your problem" I never seen anyone pick up someone's child before any notice.

2nd, she doesn't remember fully what happened, of course she won't change her personality. She is only obsessed about ML because the dairy said so and avoided previous husband.

Why tf didnt the MC just told her parents to pick up ML??? Im on chapter 3 and it said here that theyre literally neighbors??? But she never thought of picking up a poor disabled child???? It was such a good novel. I was orginally a little reluctant to read it because of some bad reviews but I am glad I decided to read it.

Both ML and FL are lovely characters. I love how our FL is gentle but not a pushover and she is such a cute baby I just want to cuddle her.

some reviews were saying that ML treats FL very rudely but he has very good reason for his resentfulness toward the world. His parents are were not good, to say the least,... more>> especially his mother. To be bullied because of your disability and still remain happy go lucky, I dont think that is possible. From start to finish, Pei Chuan was and still is the victim. Despite his shell, he remained as that 4-year-old boy who was robbed off of what supposed to be his normal. His loathing of everything is not without reason. I mean who wouldn't? When you're father's supposed to be protecting the safety of the citizen yet he failed on protecting not just a mere person under their country but his very own flesh and blood. Still, despite the nightmare PC has been through, he still held hope but the... more>> pillar he thought was sturdy crumbled apart in front of his eyes. His parents failed him. The world has failed him. When kids his age grew under the sun, PC was cast in the dark under the piercing eyes filled with disgust and mockery. He was made aware of the cruelty of the at a young age. And when Bei Yao broke into his life, she became his light. In his rotten world, BY was PC's holy land. The land he yearns for and yet imposible to step a foot on. It was evident on how hard he tried on making sure their path never intersected. He's been holding back for so long that when the light he never thought he would reach would one day extend her hand towards him, PC was overwhelmed with inferiority and was reluctant to reach out in fear of tainting her.

PC's life was heartwrenching to read (and I hope his kind of story remains fictional), and I felt so happy to know that he is slowly seeing the other side of the world—not the dark, dreary world he grew up in, but the world where there are sincere people who loves and cherish him. I've read countless novels but this is the only time I've written a review, maybe because I sympathise with PC. I was reluctant on reading this first due to the previous reviews but I'm glad I read this story. To all readers out there, you should really try it yourself first before making judgement. <<less

I love this story.

It broke my heart so, oh so many times. And yes, I was extremely disappointed in the adults of this story. They were selfish, ignorant and disgustingly entitled, and in the other hand, the growth the children characters had was really beautiful. They actually grew.

I liked that the FML lost her memories to a certain point, so that she could have that growth as a person and the build up of their relationship. She never fell in love with him just because of her past life, she... more>> took time to know him truly, she learned of his ugliness but she loved him for who he really was.

I think this ML is one of the most realistic characters I've read. The way the author portrayed his disability and the psychological trauma he suffered from the irresponsible adults around him was so tangible, horrifyingly painful and at the same time frustrating, that I couldn't stop reading until he finally got better.

The friends, the true friends in the story are so sweet and the sub couple was ironically funny.

This story is a clear example of "you can't enjoy the rainbow without the storm" but to the extreme. Every sweet, fluffy and loving interaction in the book is earned after so much angst, pain, heartache, and suffering. But it was so worth it. <<less

Just here to say that this is one of the few books where after it ended, my hands automatically went to open a new tab to buy a hard copy.

It is just that good.

Perhaps I am biased, but certain reviews here are probably just as biased I am, just in the opposite direction.

"No one owes ML the world just because he's disabled" — but it's more than just losing your legs due to a horrible tragedy. It's the neglect arising from the ableism, the discrimination from your peers and from... more>> the community at large. It is from essentially child abandonment. It is from an excruciating loneliness to always wonder: is it sympathy or genuine?

Why do you expect a perfect victim?

In Chinese, there's this idea of 人之初, 性本善 or man is born good. I think, it really is what happened here. We don't know ML before the trauma, we don't know what would have been should have been could have been. Just what is. And what is, is a really realistic representation of how society at large treats disabled people. ML doesn't think the world owes him— he hates the world because they hate him. He himself knows his personality is f*cked up, that he has issues, he's so incredibly insecure.

And we really get to see the growth of it. We see that, with a proper support system and with guidance, people aren't necessarily evil.

There's a lot I can say. But I think, after reading this everyone will understand — always remember to be more kind :)

Edit: I found that while it was titled Devil's Warmth while it was ongoing, since publishing, it has been renamed He Will Return Before Dawn. Take what you will with this change, I just think it's a much more hopeful and poetic name.

Spoiler

Perhaps one thing I dislike is how dramatic some things are, but there was a sci-fi element and we were basically told right from the very start that there's a lot of shady things going on so like... Jokes on me for being unprepared. Also another thing I do not get is the extras — if ML and MC had little contact in the previous life, then why would MC's mother approach ML to save her? I think that's one plot hole that wasn't addressed. Another plot hole was how even though the ML's parents are more affluent, we don't see them try to hire a nanny, especially for him as a kid. That or the lack of extended relatives on their his side. There are other things like: cost of prosthesis and how advanced it was during that time, but as I don't know much about it, I can only go with the author's word.

A beautiful, bittersweet, and heartwarming novel. From all the novels I’ve read so far, this is one of those Diamonds that deserve to be well-known and read by many people. If this was made into a movie or a series, I surely believe that it would gain a lot of popularity and win multiple awards.

The plot was beautiful, a well-written story that can make you feel emotions of joy, sadness, heartbreak and many more together with the character. This isn’t a story with a perfect male lead but in fact,... more>> he is a male lead that has multiple imperfections, who has inferiority. The female lead is not at all a perfect little girl, she has her struggles, she knows she isn’t a genius so she works hard, and you can see her growth in personality as she slowly grows up. The author carried out the plot that contains the rebirth genre perfectly well. She even used this as a way to create a lovely extra story that is as bittersweet and beautiful as the main story.

The love of the main couple is an exact representation of unconditional love, and as the story progress so does their love progress and mature. It’s a love one would wish to have, one you can only read in fairytales. A love where big sacrifices can be made without second-thoughts, a strong and passionate love that’s so strong it can withstand the strong winds of time and life.

I love this story very much, and as long as it can bring me to tears then it truly is a gem. This story truly deserves a 5* and I really recommend reading this story. Hope you’ll enjoy it~ <<less

I was not ready to cry so much. I thought it would a normal love story of a girl who went back in time and a disabled boy and they learn to love each other unconditionally.

What I found unique about this story is that the main character, Bei Yao, had a twist in having memories of her future.... more>>
Spoiler

Although she had memories before she died, she eventually lose that adult memories. She still has memories, albeit only a few year in advance. This made it interesting because she didn't have the mindset of oh I have to change the future. She was solely relying on what she wrote for herself before she lost that future memories.

.

Pei chuan, that boy, he has severe inferiority complex. He always thinks of himself as someone dirty and didn't deserve Bei Yao's attention at all. When he decided to take the risk of courting Bei Yao, I was so proud and was cheering for him. But unfortunately his deep love for her made him give up everything to make sure she lives a happy life. Makes me want to punch him sometimes.

The second part of the story can have sweet moments but at the same time quite a lot of drama. I wan't that fond of the second part of the extras though, and interesting parallel world but not really what I was hoping for

I like it a lot. I would definitely read it again in the future if I want to cry lol <<less

Absolutely loved this!!! Very well-written and kept pulling at the heartstrings. The plot, character development/relationships and world-building were complex but very interesting and thought-provoking.

Reading this novel made me realise that some kind and righteous acts that are good for the majority, might cause invisible harm to the minority. Therefore, we must assess every risk/outcome properly, no matter how significant, before we make big decisions.

A big thank you to the translator/s and editor/s for producing such superb translations. You guys are awesome!!! And to the author, thank you for writing such... more>> an amazing novel. You are an absolute legend!!!

I definitely recommend this 100%!

Spoiler

This isn't so much a spoiler, I just wanted to share my theory about the second extra where BY transmigrated to the original timeline and got together with Satan, 5 years after the original BY's death. So, if you haven't read the novel then you probably won't understand what I'm talking about lol (so go read it friend 😉).

I read a few comments on the translator's site where some thought the main story's BY was "copy and pasted" into the original timeline. This got me thinking, what if BY wasn't "copied"? What if the original BY and the main-story's BY are actually two different versions of the same person in different timelines who came together into the one time-space? (Like a Marvel multiverse scenario)

So, here's my theory:

*** Bei Yao was never "reborn". ***

(I know it sounds weird but hear me out)

Here are the facts:

- this side-story's BY was the "reborn" BY from the main storyline

- this BY "dreamed" that the "her" in the previous world woke up the next day and continued living her life (or living out the main story's plot) [this is where the "copy-pasted" theory comes from]

- this BY appeared on the original BY's grave

- PC revealed that BY had a back-up "master" chip implanted in her brain

- the brain chip that controls people is very powerful and may even have its own consciousness

Here's what I think:

When the original BY died, her soul time-travelled to the past and attached itself to the soul of her "past self" instead of being reborn. This then created a new/alternate timeline (main story). The reason why BY couldn't keep all her memories was because the original's soul had just travelled through time and was weak. Also, a child's body wasn't strong enough to accommodate two souls. Hence, BY would only regain her memories when her "souls" grew stronger after growing up. However, a body wasn't made to "house" two souls, which was why BY was slow in her functioning-ability and still had to put in extra effort to study even though she had her "protagonist's cheat" (future memories).

It was mentioned that BY stopped remembering her future memories at the late high school-early college stage of her life. Which was about a year or two before she transmigrated to the original timeline. Hence, I believe at this time, the soul of the main-story's BY had fully developed and was in the process of unattaching/expelling the original soul from her body. Therefore, the BY that transmigrated to the future timeline, was just the original BY returning to her "real world" after recuperating in the past/alternate timeline. So, this side-story's BY and the BY who died and became Satan's biggest regret, are one and the same person/soul.

What solidifies my belief even more is that PC revealed that BY had a back-up master chip implanted in her brain. However, she had only arrived for a few days and had no recollection of an operation. Plus, her head was smooth and untouched at the time he told her, so it is physically impossible for her to have the chip already in her head. Therefore, it would only make sense if she was the original BY who died and then returned, as PC could have had the master chip implanted in her head years ago before she passed away.

From PC's experience in "battling" the chip's software, we learned that the chip is very powerful and could posibly have its own consciousness. So, I feel this heaven-defying micro-chip was the reason for BY time-travelling in the first place.

When BY returned/appeared, she was on top of her grave. I theorise that when she transmigrated, she went straight to where the remains of her real, physical body would be because her brain chip had returned to its original dimension and needed a body. So, it probably gathered her physical essence from the flowers that absorbed her remains and "programmed" or created the physical body she currently has. (Don't ask me how, it's an all powerful micro-chip that can travel through time lol... anyway, if it can control humans, then what's to stop it from "integrating" a human's soul? I mean, have you seen tha Matrix???) Also, PC may have attempted to revive the original BY after death by implanting a new/different/more powerful brain chip. So, when her soul returned, the time-travelling chip "connected" with the corpse chip and merged/configured to create BY's physical body. (Yes, I'm not a technology specialist, so I have no idea of the specifics haha 🥴)

PC also had a master chip implanted in his brain. So, if this chip had a consciousness, wouldn't he easily be able to "recognise" it's twin chip? However, PC thought she was going to return to her previous world when they were on the island, so he obviously didn't "recognise" her brain chip. But, he did only reveal that she had the chip after they made love. So, maybe he was only able to "recognise" her chip (and soul) after physically "uniting" with her (hehehehehe).

Anywhoo, that's my theory lol. (Please don't judge me)

Loved it.

It´s dark, sad and tough but damn if it isn´t worthy. There are so many emotional and deep moments where you feel like life is just not fair and humans are foolish BUT the interactions between characters are every bit warming.

The MC is sweet, kind and perseverant while the ML is dark, gloomy and madly in love so their time together is at times frustrating and at times joyfully sweet (kinda like a rollercoaster though in the good sense I guess).

Just, go for it, recommend!!!
