Yan Fei was a young marketing director and Haiqing dreamt of studying art.

Yan Fei has a boyfriend, Jimmy. Haiqing was still single.

When Haiqing spotted Yan Fei at a local swimming pool, he secretly took a picture of the pretty young man.

Through a series of unfortunate events, the two end up talking to each other and Yan Fei decided to give Haiqing his number, hoping they would meet again — the chemistry between them was instantaneous.

But as chance or fate would have it, Haiqing dropped his phone in the swimming pool and he never got the chance to call Yan Fei.

Not long after, Haiqing met Ping Jun and the two started dating.

However, this was only the beginning.

Haiqing could not forget Yan Fei; and Yan Fei could not forget him either.

Status: Completed
There's cheating (which seems to be a bottom line in BL) but I still love it. The drama was nice, too, if a little awkward at times.

Just rewatched the drama and the novel hasn't been updated in years. At this point I'm just going to create a fanfic ending because the show just left us hanging and I can't find the novel to mtl anywhere.

I actually came across the live drama first and I loved it so much that I looked this novel up. Although the tag implies that live drama is based off the novel..... idk I feel like it's the opposite. I personally think the live drama is better. The novel seems rushed and most events are summarized except for matters that concerns the main CP. The novel mostly focuses on the internal thoughts of the MC and ML..... thinking mostly about each other... to the point that other characters kept to... more>> the side and stay mostly unknown to the readers.

When comparing the two, the live drama is so much longer than the novel that it's based off (it's normally the opposite). The live drama is 12 episodes long (30 min ea.) and the novel is 12 chapters long. The director clearly took liberties to fill in the holes in the novel and adding scenes to let the viewers get to know the characters as a person.

Yan Fei and Jimmy make such a charming couple in the live drama. In the novel, we don't really get to know what they're like as a loving CP. We only see them arguing. Jimmy in the live drama has such a charming personality but we don't really get to know him in the novel.

In the novel, almost all the scenes that features Jimmy are just summarized. It's not just Jimmy, it's the same for Haiqing's grandfather. We never see the interaction between Haiqing and his grandfather like we do in the live drama.

I didn't rate this because I wanted to MTL the rest of the novel first, but I can't find it. The only thing that pops up are the live drama episodes or the order page for the physical book. I guess this isn't available online and the translator probably bought the book (the translator doesn't disclose the source, I'm just speculating). <<less
