What is a Daoist Master? One that is imageless in ten directions and vanishes in the six paths; unrestrained by the three realms and the five elements.

After a day at the clinic, Dr. Li Feng met with an accident on his way home. When he regained consciousness, Li Feng found himself in the body of a weak teenage boy who was born out of wedlock, Shen Lian. Who was the father? The mother would not tell. A scripture he found among his mother’s remnants was the only thing he knew about his father.

The mother came from a wealthy and well known family. When Shen Lian was recalled back to the Shen family, he was entitled for part of the grandfather’s inheritance and businesses. Despite the grand value, Shen Lian did not take a cent with him when he decided to leave the family. Why would he leave this comfortable life behind?

His journey with this new identity brought him into this new world as he travelled between realms in search of knowledge to improve his Daoist skills. As he conquered trial after trial, would he become the chosen one? Will he succeed in becoming the Daoist Master? Only time will tell.

Terrible story right from the start. You have a middle aged man climbing the mountain and knocking on the gate to a temple. A young boy with yellow and pale features opening the door. The author then jumped to talk about how a doctor transmigrated from our world to this world. But you didn't have a clue whether he's talking about the middle aged man or the young boy.

No in depth details regard about cultivation. This is a doctor a normal person who believes in science who got supernaturally transported... more>> to another world. It's a contradiction to one's belief as a doctor. Yet he's happy and went along with everything and yeah a busy doctor still have time to read wuxia, xianxia novels and have an encyclopaedic knowledge relating to the Daoist teachings in the former world.

Our main character Shen Lian seem to suddenly have the ability to throw missile projectiles without practicing. Random weapon called fly cutter to defend himself.

Martial Arts technique names are thrown around and sometimes provide no details to explain what the move looks like. At other times the author spent long sentences describing and explaining the fight. But at the same time squeezing large volume of senseless information when the audience should be focused on the fight itself without being distracted by the author's desire to explain things.

It is all over the place. Gets worst when his soul leaves his body and he decides to save his female cousin by cutting ethereal green lines that were attached to her spirit/soul.

The author explain things that don't need explaining and don't explain things that need explaining. The pacing and logic is just ridiculous.

He doesn't know how to write a story. <<less

The story is interesting but the style is annoying. Half the chapters are filled with poetry and famous chinese proverbs. Quidian style for lazy writer.

The author should pay half his earning to the original creators of all the proverbs he used since it basically fills half his story.

This novel is different from the other multitude of Chinese Xianxia novels, in which you cultivate go to another realm and continue doing this eternally till the audience gets bored and the author finally ends it in one of the "higher realms". The main character cultivates fast. It is entertaining to read and full of mystery he finally becomes a Daoist around chapter 70. Before chapter 70 he cultivates a Martial Technique in Jianghu. There is only one universe, the peak of cultivation is a Daoist Master or a Buddha.... more>> No, strange extra realms that randomly appear halfway through the story.

I agree with the username GingerMessiah about his rating and criticisms of this novel. What dao and what shit!? A pretentious MC has been created by author who looks cool from both the inside and the outside which is even more difficult than cultivate this "Dao" thingy. I don't understand neither east nor south of this novel despite reading close to 200 chapters. I shall forever block this novel so that I don't accidentally read it again in the future.

-The novel has a lot of chinese poetry & ancient chinese history & edioms & most are sub-par translated (to be fair I kinda don't blame translator cause it is hard to translate those things correctly)

-This novel is about a suicidal MC... like seriously he keep jumping into deadly situation with 0% chance of survival & he will say "I'm carefree & if I die it is ok"...

Really?!!! You just got reincarnated & you are now in a world where you could practically live forever but it... more>> is ok to die after living for just couple of years & all these situation he can just ignore it or call for help.. but nope he just go & ask for death..

Of cause he is the MC so don't worry because before he dies he will "breakthrought" or his sword will "breakthrought" or his mount will "breakthrought" or his Senior apprentice will "breakthrought" and save him or he will find a powerful relict/weapon...

Basically plot armor will help him in the last second...

-kidnapping is the only motive (apart from su*cide) for MC.

his cousin, his nephew, his friend/love interest, his aunt, his student, his sister, his mother, the daughter of his highest priest all got kidnapped at some point & the MC had to go save them...

it is annoying.. add the fact that MC could have stopped most of them but for some reason (author) didn't... he can see the future, he can leave protection (weapons or divine power) but nope he just watch.

And when they get kidnapped he either go running without preparation and jumps heads first into a trap or he ignore it cause "they won't cause them harm for now"... <<less
