Edit: After I stopped reading at chapter 400 to make way for the novel to pile up enough chapters; I can definitely say this is one of the top tier novels. My only issue since chapter 300 is the power scaling for the enemy. Honestly when the novel introduced the strongest demon lord at chapter 300+ I was actually discouraged because it's really OP and I thought even though the MC is already strong enough; it still seem impossible for him to defeat the Demon lord. In fact it's giving... more>> the MC a handicap by letting him prepare and fight if he thinks he's ready. If his former party and strongest brave can't even defeat the 2nd boss 300 years ago, what more he can do at the current timeline. Well the MC for sure will be OP anyway. Now I'm at latest chapter 545 and my view is still the same. The power scaling for the enemy is too strong lol

Spoiler

I'm currently at the latest chapter 212 and planning to pile up the chapters first before reading it again. The development is so satisfying and I like ths author's style of writing. Very different from his previous work which is Possessing nothing. Now some might say the development is slow but for me it's just normal. Even though he reincarnated there's still a lot of people who's currently stronger than him. Very recommended. This novel is among one of the 3 series I'm currently reading, and rank 3rd in my reading list. Other 2 is Drug/Medicine Genius Wizard and Villain wants to Live. These 2 remaining novel are tied for the first spot. Very recommended. I hope the 2 novels I mentioned will be translated for those who can't read Korean.

I feel like the author is rushing things too much. There is completely no world building. There are barely any descriptions, barely any explanations on the world the MC is living in, barely any introduction of characters. This novel is completely plot-focused and the plot isn’t even interesting.

The author creates pov switches without introducing the character that he is switching to, which is confusing as heck.

The MC is a training maniac, and that is all he is. Everything the MC does is exaggerate to the point where it’s annoying. His... more>> personality is literally just your generic “I know better than you” type.

The side characters barely have any personality.

The entire plot is confusing as heck because there is barely any world building to support the plot. And there are several information that does not match with what is previously described.

And in the first few chapters, the author immediately introduces a third-rate a-hole villain to get beaten up by the MC... No, calling this villain third-rate is actually an insult to third-rate villains. Even if the villain is a 13 yo, it’s just so pathetically written that it’s impossible to call it a “character”.

And I also have no idea who is a she and who is a he. Sometimes a character is a “he” and the next she became a “she”.

This novel is one of the most generic power fantasies I’ve ever read, and it’s even executed horribly. I can physically feel my IQ deteriorating reading the characters' conversations. Some chapters are even split into tiny tiny tiny tiny parts, to make your reading experience even more unenjoyable.

But then I came to a realization.

I realized that the way I’m reading it is not correct.

In my fervor of enlightenment, I terminated every brain cell I used to read this novel.

Suddenly, everything in this novel became so funny.

Everything is so bad that it became good.

It’s so funny watching the characters perform s*upidly like it’s a slapstick comedy with each word.

And also the world building. World building? Who cares about world building if you aren’t gonna process it in your brain. Afterall, why does things need to make sense when you aren’t gonna even think about why it does not make sense?

Well, the side effect is that you’ll turn into a monkey.

100% recommended for sh*ts and giggles. <<less

It's a pretty damn good novel.
The art is amazing too.
I've read other works by the author, but I must say this one takes the cake in character development and world building.
The start is kind of slow and all, but the pace is good.
I like the feeling of loneliness that this novel gives in the beginning, especially since the protagonist has felt the same for a long time, since all of his old companions are either dead or missing and he is lost in this new world... more>> completely different from the one of 300 years ago.
The characters are great. They are not perfect, nor do they try to be. Each of them has a different personality and goals, but they are always there for each other. They curse, laugh, love, cry. They feel real.
I couldn't wait for the extremely slow translation (I f#cking hated this breaking chapters bs), so I've been reading the raw one that's way ahead.
It's worth the reading, and maybe 3-4 years later when this slow ass translation finally catch it up I'll probably read it again, till then I'll stick with the raw. <<less

Decent. Interesting characters. Has a bit of a murim/xianxia vibe to it with cultivation stuff.

Sole issue is the translation. I'm thankful it has consistent and daily translations but they separate chapters to three parts at times. You read for like 2 seconds and boom it's over. It's kinda ridiculous. Other wuxiaworld series have much longer daily chapters.

I _hate_ it when grandpas reincarnate and suddenly behave like kids. Really annoying and unlikable. The author focuses too much on the really boring stuff. It would be fun if this was something like Naruto, where you basically follow a kid growing up (and therefore deal with kids problems), but this novel features an adult.

Putting a grown-up into kindergarten is boring 2/5.

altough this is a great novel with nice worldbuilding, story, characters, chemistry, action and development, the minor problems ads up and makes all the excitement I have for the story to go away

problems being :

things getting stalled too much

... more>> MC isnt an interesting character and way too perfect for us to syhpmoahtized

way too much knowledge in the content that you dont really have to know making it feels like a filler

the situations MC gets end up in are well written, yet falls short of what MC can achieve so feels bit empty (I know it gets better in later chapters and I saw pretty hyped up scenes already, the problem is not story not having hyped up scenes but as generaly not having much action, and even when there is, it being a cakewalk for mc)

Spoiler

new companion (the saint) isnt interesting at all

[collapse]

would be 10/10 if author wrote this series as much more quickpaced <<less

This is how a reincarnation story should be written. It’s interesting that the main character reincarnated into the same world, but the time difference created a lot of mysteries and he gain strength as he uncovers more. I also like that it is not a mere wish fulfillment story, because those get boring pretty quickly.

The manhwa on the other hand is kinda repulsive, drawing a 60 years old woman as a teannage girl is weird, what makes is weirder is that the men in similar age all looks like old... more>> people. Double standard much? Disgusting <<less

This is hands down my favorite reincarnation story I've read in a while. There's a lot to love here.

The characters are enjoyable, the MC has pretty clear goals and he sets out a clear path for himself on attaining them, and the interactions between characters always feel believable. I actually also like the magic/martial arts power system as it's not overly complicated. The fight scenes are both well-written and well-translated.

The things people may not like are the skips between "power ups" aka the MC's training arcs. I understand why the... more>> author did it, and why it's sort of glossed over, but because of this the MC is always overpowered in comparison to almost everyone else. He just poof is stronger now and x amount of time has passed. So though the MC is hardworking, readers basically don't see it.

If you want a gradual growth story, this isn't it. It's much more about the characters and their world and mysteries of the past. The slow revelations and hints at things are really well done so far imo, and I highly recommend this novel. <<less

I picked this up expecting some sort of unique take on a reincarnation-type-novel but was left dissapointed.
The novel's synopsis explains the direction of the novel: MC gets reincarnated into his fellow warrior/rival's descendant - his fellow warrior/rival = genius therefore as his descendant he's also a genius.
In his past life, MC always hated this warrior because he was a genius and he wasn't.

MC and this warrior built a little group and they went to kill the demon king yayy! Can't leave that trope out or no one will... more>> read it! MC dies blah di blah reincarnation happens.
The plot - there is no plot - just the usual get stronger and tackle everything that happens - not really any particular end goal introduced in the first 25 chapters which I would assume is good enough for some sort of goal.

Worldbuilding is decent so far - no info dumps but no descriptive flair either.

Characters - there is a distinction between each and every character - smth jp novels need to learn - however while every side character gets a nice unique personality the MC kinda lacks one?
It feels like he's very bland and agreeable - when he's arguing with a 13 yo (while being a 13yo) he handle's it very nonchalantly as if to show he was acc very mature but at the same time he's acting like a 13yo. I can't boggle down his takes on anything other than being frustrated that in his past life he wasn't the genius and so he wants to be a genius in this one. There are characters who are sly, some who are childish and relatable, some who are wise, but im struggling to put any of these traits on the MC.

Foreshadowing - now a lot of novels use this and some use it very well, if you can use this just right u can let the reader realise it at the moment it becomes true rather than having it thrown into their face. In just the span of 20 chaps they have thrown the fact that he probably reincarnated because his rival genius in the past life probably sacrificed his life for him to be reincarnated...probably. Just let us readers find out y'know..

It feels like a combination of a cn novel and a kr novel where all the negative elements of a cn novel has been merged to all the positive ones of a kr one. 3/5 will continue reading. <<less

This novel is simply at a level of quality rarely found in webnovels. The characters are well-fleshed out, there's a nice lil bit of mystery, as well as some hints at there later being some romance. The novel is nicely paced for my taste, and the world itself is pretty interesting as well. I highly recommend this, and I can't believe that there are incel webnovels with a higher rating on this site.

Well since I really like this novel, I thought I might make a review about it. So this novel is about finishing what was started 300 years ago. Its a reincarnation novel, though I like how the reincarnation in this novel was donne.

The MC is what id describe as a good op badass novel protagonist. By that I mean he is cool, yet still feels human. Neother lame, nor overly cool. Strong, yet not too strong as he grows in power over time (yet never annoyingly weak either). Aka he... more>> is prety dam well rounded if you ask me.

This is a harem novel and im happy to say that the harem here isnt just full of random girls A, B and C (though thats not that surprising for a korean novel). Each girl has a distinct and intresting personality. That said the romance really only comes in around 200+ to 300+ chapters.

Imo the story gets really intresting with the introduction of the saint candidate and the MC becoming the hero.

There are a quite a few intresting things about this novels plot. If you are thinking that 2 demon lords not being killed seems oddly specific... well thats cause it is. There are a ton of mysteries in the plot and because of that the story feels exciting.

Well I dont wanna continue to ramble on about random bs. What I do want to say that I like the detail that most either go to heaven or reincarnate when they die and thats what makes contracts with demons so costly (the classic your soul becomes the ownership of the demon you made a contract with upon death). It also makes the MCs reincarnation that much better (since the weird thing about it isnt that he reincarnated, but that he has the memories of his past life). Along with that it opens the door for some other intresting developments.

And just to add I like how the MCs enemies havent just donne nothing/ havent progressed in the 300 years it took for him to reincarnate. Makes the world just feel more alive and dynamic.

Ok thats about all I got to say. I encourage you all to give this one a shot cause its very good, though a bit slow at the start. Enjoy. <<less

Pretty good world-building, but falls to the trope of the main character pretty much solving every problem as they arrive with little setback (aside from some very key moments), and acting as "Mr. Perfect" that you see in most of these types of light novels. The characters are interesting and vibrant for the most part, the setting is good, even the mystery is good.

Consider this part a warning, however. As of 11/21/2022, all chapters after chapter 20 are locked behind a paywall. It is possible to view the chapters if... more>> you are willing to wait 23 hours to unlock them, so consider your level of patience if you truly want to read this novel. <<less

It's a novel with such good story telling, all of the characters are well written and very interesting and the plot makes you want to keep reading to see how it unfolds. The overall feel of the story is just so well done as well as the world feeling extremely organic and natural. This story is well worth reading as a reincarnation story done right. Give it a shot because it's worth reading!

Hello there.

First of all story was pretty good.

Characters are well written. ... more>>
Spoiler

I especially like Mermer, Rai, Carmen and well Melkith...

[collapse]

Harem is good but there is some annoying things about romance
Spoiler

Like he already kissed the person he loves and they even became item but whenever someone mentions if they are dating or something he is always embarrassed or avoiding question. For example when Christina kissed him he froze like a idiot.I mean its not like he is inexperienced either (previous lifes) but why is he acting like a virg*n ? Yeah, author is just stretching. Aside from that he knows what to do when time comes, like when to get beaten up.I still remember the day where he was hiding under the sheets when bot Senya and Christina got drunk. And actually he is not so dense actually he was even aware of Ciel's feelings ever since he got adopted, I got a huge shock there.

[collapse]

You may find uncomfortable about some plots.
Spoiler

Like whenever sh*t about to get fan a 'miracle' happens and problem solved.

[collapse]
But it won't be so disturbing. At least it wasn't to me.

Art is awesome.

Power scaling is good as well.

I recommend it to add must read list.

It's reasonably entertaining and has a good translation as well. The biggest issue with it is it relies heavily on timeskips for power boosts with no explanation and at best vaguely alluding towards what happened in that time. There's also very little conflict throughout.

It's okay if you wanted some filler. Could have been incredibly good with a bit of fleshing out, especially in the earlier years. As of now it's basically a rough draft with a bit of flare and the manhwa isn't any better.

A pretty good story. I like the MC's personality even though others might disagree. My only problem is that there is very little action as of chapter 54.1. Don't get me wrong, I love world building, but in 54 chapters, all we have were 2 family spars which lasted 1 chapter each, and 1 main monster fight. We have yet to find a "villain".

Look here, you stumbled across this novel, must mean you have read other reincarnation novels, and is looking for a fresh novel to sink your teeth into, well you are in luck.

Damn reincarnation offers, great pacing, great character, great comedy and immersion.

I usually find myself not liking other novels for the fact that they start using jap names or korean names, or certain slangs that just bit*h slaps me out of immersion, no probs with this.

This novel deals well with power creeps < getting too op> by making all characters... more>> intresting meaning even if the MC 's not in action, the read is just as, or even more entertaining.

The comedy is great, not just stuff that only koreans can understand etc.. Its universal, korean comedy is great but not so much for a dude that knows zilch about their culture<pop culture>. <<less

So far it's been my favorite Korean novel. It's pacing is on the slower side but that gives it more room to properly describe and build the world around the characters. Fights are one of the author's strongest points in this novel, they don't happen too often and MC doesn't win easily and every time, he needs to put a lot of effort in between the fights. This gives him time to acquire new abilities weapons or other which author doesn't forget to utilize, they also don't seem to be... more>> overpowered in the hands of MC side characters are very well developed, they mostly have distinct personalities which a reader doesn't mistake with others easily. World is described before and when it's needed but it seems well thought out as I rarely think that something feels out of place. The other thing I like is that the story isn't dragged out needlessly for eternity, most of the time chapters serve some purpose, either world building, character development or story progress. Of course there are some flaws such as MC acting like an old prick sometimes (his combined age is pretty high but anyway it's annoying).
Spoiler

when Anise is brought to the party he is always afraid of her which is a development made for comedy I believe but it gets very frustrating after having it happen continuously in multiple chapters.

[collapse]
. The beginning may seem very boring as fights don't often happen and as is the case with most Korean novels, the MC is crazy about training. After the initial training stage fights happen regularly but not too often and not needlessly. I rate this 5/5 as this novel has one of the best written story that most of the web novels lack in recent years, it doesn't look for frequent, fast and short lived reward for the reader but aspires to something a little bit better. I don't recommend reading everything in one go, instead I would advise to read only few chapters (1-2) a day after your initial hype dies a bit down.

Translation quality is very high, I think it's worth paying 5$ ONLY the first time you are reading when you liked it very much and the free chapters ended. It's not worth buying subscription after you get to the end because you only get 2 additional chapters for each 5$ and after the subscription ends you have to wait 2 weeks for the free chapters to catch up AND you also lose free access to the chapters before because you will have to unlock them again using karma which you can claim 100 each day.

[Edit] Mick Gordon's Doom eternal soundtrack goes really well with the fights and is lore friendly too (killing demons or something). <<less
