ML told the MC FIRST in a call along the lines of no matter what, he loves him. This was because ML just saw a starlet acting shady by him while he was at the airport.

Then MC was told by a teammate to look online, seeing ML's weibo posts outright clarifying his and MC's relationship is still going strong, and that he doesn't tolerate people who try to involve themselves with others who are already in relationships.

MC wasn't really hurt by the pics in the story; he just thought that had ML not communicated to him, he might've been hurt, but he wasn't really because he knew for sure ML still loved him after what MC did to ML. MC actually tried to look for some of the gossip media posts but they were already taken down by ML's PR by the time he even knew about this small scandal.

So much so, that MC had to go behind his back to have that heart transplantation. Once ML learned the truth, he was was so angry, he broke contact with MC and the person who helped him. Despite them (ML and that person) being close friends, once ML learned that he was prepared to mu*der MC to save ML's life, he immediately kicked him out.

For starters, when MC and ML were not together, someone took a picture of some starlet sticking to ML. When MC saw it, he was upset, but the next moment ML called him and was like "I'm still pissed with you, but I don't want to hurt you, so I'm calling to say that there is nothing between me and that starlet".

Then, once they talked to each other, both of them explained how they felt and BOTH of them apologised for the lack of communication that led to the current situation.

ml's condition gets worse but he refuses mc's heart donation even after MC reveals his abilities. MC draws up a plan to get ML to accept an anonymous organ donation and the heart transplant is a success. But ML is furious once he realizes MC was the donor. After MC wakes up from his two month recovery, they finally talk out their differences and reconcile.

the scene where ou renjin took out a knife and threatened to harm (kill?) himself on video was f*cking crazy. I had goosebumps and literally got heart palpitations thinking he was really gonna dig his heart out. The morbid part of me kinda wanted him to go through with it bc the angst potential was insane.

the little heart to heart (heh) talk at the end was sweet and sums up the character's motivations nicely. Shaowen thought of renjin as a client, then as his savior, and finally as his lover. And in all three cases he was willing to sacrifice his heart but for slightly different reasons.

and renjin refusing him because he cannot stomach seeing another person sacrificing their life for him. By then, his reasons for refusal had also changed subtly, from thinking that shaowen is dumb and naive, to suspecting that he is lying in order to gain favor, and finally to the fear of losing his lover.

We aren't given enough meat about the revenge plot against Renjin's aunt and uncle. The grandpa is literally never mentioned again but I was interested to see how he would react if he finally found out the truth. I also wished that they would include some sort of connection to Shaowen's previous world that explained how he transmigrated. However, I did like the small snippet where Renjin talks to Shaowen's past self. I wish Renjin would have mentioned it tho.

Like when ML was exposed for being basically a stalker with those video cams and MC was just starry eyed like "wow he likes to watch me I love him so much" lmfao

Or when MC beat up ML's tr*sh uncle while ML was away and when he admitted it ML was all "I love this man, no one else has stood up for me like this before" like I really cannot with these two

"Can you stop telling me this? I know what you're trying to say, but... can all of you stop treating me like a child and stop preaching to me all the time? I'm capable of my own judgement too."

"I know, you care about me and feel sorry for me far more than I care about myself, but this heart is for me a consumable that will regrow in two months, and for you it is your long life in the future. I couldn't help but save you. So can you also understand me from my point of view and not get angry again, okay?"

Before coming to this appointment, Ou Renjin really didn't expect to hear him say such things.

He suddenly felt that Ou Shaowen, who he had always thought was ignorant and floating in this world like dust, was not what he thought he was. He had his own set of ideas and logic, but he was used to obeying him and he had never explained to him the reason for doing something calmly and modestly like he was doing now.

He was not someone unable to think differently; in fact he had always known very well that the reason he had resisted Ou Shaowen's heart donation so fiercely was, on the one hand, because at that time he simply could not believe Ou Shaowen's words completely, and on the other hand, it was just his selfishness.

He couldn't bear the pain of his loved ones leaving him again, so he very selfishly pushed this pain onto Ou Shaowen. He was forcing him, using a stimulus therapy that he himself found despicable, using pain that would impress him to remember that once something like this happened in the future, he should never make a similar choice again.

He never liked the melodramatic plot of martyrdom and did not believe that anyone in the world would be unable to live without anyone else, but to some extent, he believed that if Ou Shaowen at that time really died, he might be the one indulging in the mood of going with him. This had nothing to do with how much he loved Ou Shaowen; the deeper reason was in himself.

"That process... the process of watching the person I love die for me and constantly convincing myself to live for him really made me tired enough. Intellectually, I know that you all love me very much, and there are very few people in this world who are willing to sacrifice their life for others. You are noble and great, but I am too cowardly and inferior to bear such deep love

He lowered his eyes and admitted his meanness, "It's all my problem. I admit that I used the wrong way. I just hope that if there is such a time again, please cherish yourself and... take mercy on me. Don't let me suffer this kind of pain again."

Like when that Dong person did a bad thing to MC, ML didn't necessarily commit a crime just to revenge. He simply left him in the mountain too just like that Dong person did with MC

MC kept it hidden from ML that he gave ML his heart

ML had his ex go to their house just so that he can watch how MC would react, but that was when he hasn't really fallen for MC yet plus he really regretted that
