Another VRMMO story that follows the template— not! CNP is different from your usual template stories with VRMMO as the setting. First, is the Souls game-like difficulty from the get-go and our MC-chan does suffer a bit from her unique circumstance. This unique circumstance isn't limited to her's but to any hardcore (or masochist) players in the story who chose it as well. Don't worry, she does adapt to it and brings a different kind of challenge to the table.

Second, I like the take of the post-apocalyptic setting. This is... more>> the first time I've seen it as the game's main setting and brings interesting mechanics that are explored.

Third, and finally, the MC herself. She is... interesting. Very interesting, indeed. Think of her as someone who pursues the unknown head-on.

Fourth, the current translation of the web novel —as of writing, it's utenatranslations— is quite good.

Should you read CNP? If you like something different from the usual VRMMO story that's fresh, souls-like, but has this carefreeness despite its a dark fantasy-ish and an interesting MC, yes. Go ahead. If not, well, everybody has their own subjective taste in terms of what they want to read, no? <<less

This novel genuinely is great, the protagonist works for all of her power, though they had issues with power balance in the early chapters it is rectified over time and even explained why Taru is powerful while also explaining how other people are powerful. This novel is honestly more about Taru's desire for exploration and to see the unknown rather than the interactions between players, although that has been slowly rectified over time.

So far it's a good story. If there's someone who said only people who never read MMO would like this story, please ignore it. I've read many, and it's not the worst. Moreover, there are only a few chapters translated from 900+ ongoing stories, so I can't judge the overall story. But the start is good enough for me.

Edit: I've MTLed the raw.

The story consists of hunting, crafting, power upgrade, game event, and then repeated. While the plot is interesting in the earlier chapter, sadly with repetition, the plot made... more>> me feel quite bored. I expected there would be many mysteries and gore, but if you exclude the deformed avatar, everything else is just your average VRMMO story. <<less

I've only read the first 16 chapters, but it's been a fun read so far. We've only been introduced really to the main character, but we've gotten an idea of how hard she's working to adjust to her new character and some of the challenges that are created due to the avatar she's playing in the game. I'm curious to see where it goes from here.

While it’s good, it’s honestly really repetitive. For the 1000 chapters, it’s basically some form of train, power up, event, repeat. You can honestly skip 20 chapters at a time and not really miss anything for some sections.

Our MC is inexplicably special despite playing an MMO. She somehow holds her place as a top player despite being mainly solo and having to deal with crafting and magic by herself at the same time. Every other bulletin board chapter will have at least one line like “Sasuga Taru”, kind of unrealistic,... more>> both how unique she is and how much influence/fame she has.

It’s like 2am, good night. <<less

A badly made game with pointless mechanics, a world with 1 person in it. The MC is typical in every single way, exactly the same as every other MMORPG player.

I can only assume people who think she is unique or interesting have just never read a light novel about MMOs before.

Enjoyed every single chapter of this novel. It looks like terrible power balance MMO at early chapter but its not. MC tendency to explore the unknown making her taking the lead on exploring hidden mechanic and plot of the game. Some players get powerful with their own way too, assisting MC to cover her lack.

Character interaction and world building is nice too. MC is quite lunatic though.

I don't know why there's so many 5 stars reviews saying how amazing this novel is. At first I was excited too because it seems like a good read. But genuinely after reading quite a decent amount of chapters? Meh.

I might be biased because I was disappointed after feeling excited. But it might be because I've read too much LN's that bar is pretty is high up.

But to sums it up why I was disappointed is:

- The lack world building. How could you make such an interesting world but at... more>> the same time making it feels so empty?

- Unrealistic game. I've read similar novels with premise of players being able to be monster like "Apotheosis of a demon" and compared to that novel this game world looks highly unrealistic on how a normal human could suddenly control a new part of their body without prior experiences. And it's not even a good explanation, it's just say AI stuff as excuse and then contradict itself saying stuff like "the reason why it moves so well is because it's you the one controling it and not programed"

- I think last would be the main character. It's not bad she's smart, and creative. But her being

a masochist

[collapse]
doesn't sit well with me, not because I don't like it but it's the kind of personality and quirk a side or supporting character would have not the MC. <<less
