In the final years of the dynasty, demons ran rampant, the world was in turmoil, and human life was as worthless as grass. Even powerful martial artists faced constant threats to their lives.

Fortunately, Chu Liang, who had transmigrated from another world, possessed the [Evolution Appraisal Mirror] , capable of evolving martial arts into the Immortal Path.

[Dragon Tendon and Tiger Bone Pill (Martial Arts Pill) → Cultivating Origin Pill (Immortal Path Pill) → Foundation Establishment Pill (Immortal Path Pill)…]

[Grass and Wood Breathing Technique (Martial Arts Cultivation Technique) → Eternal Spring Technique (Immortal Path Cultivation Technique)…]

And so…

He rose from a mountain village hunter, step by step, to become a renowned expert in these chaotic times.

One day, Chu Liang chanced upon an immortal who had descended into the deep mountains. He learned that this world was merely a small world used by immortals to harvest “Human Path Pills.”

Chu Liang wished to enter the Immortal Realm, but was told that his “Spiritual Root” was inferior, and he was not qualified.

He had no choice but to give up and continue cultivating in the mortal world.

Many years later, countless immortals descended, bringing calamities, disrupting the human world, and harvesting the Grand Human Path Pill.

At the critical moment, Chu Liang took action.

Immortals fell, like rain.

Looking at the radiant Chu Liang, the surviving immortals were utterly shocked.

“You… are you that mortal with the inferior Spiritual Root from back then?”

From a simple hunter to a rising martial artist, his journey is fraught with peril, forcing him to confront greedy relatives, ruthless gangs, and the encroaching darkness of a demonic threat. With each evolution,

Chu Liang grows stronger, his resolve hardening as he strives to carve a path towards survival and mastery in the turbulent world of the Great Liang Dynasty.

Very bad, read it for a while hoping it gets any bit better but alas no. This novel falls into the very sorry pitfall that every bad story stumbles into, one-dimensional characters. Sure the cheat is there to facilitate the MCs growth in such a way that it makes you root for him but the characters surrounding the MC have no other "redeeming" quality other than being either an: (1) ally of the MC that fawns for him; (2) s*upid antagonist only waiting for the inevitable face slap.

I would love... more>> to be proven wrong and that future chapters don't have such characters but for now this glaring issue is making it hard to read further without making me wince and cringe from the blatant characterization. <<less

I have mixed feelings about this novel.

The characters are one-dimensional, and the antagonists are unfathomably s*upid (but what can you expect from a popcorn cultivation novel, right?). This first half of the novel can be summed up very simply: you either support Chu Liang and rise, or you doubt him, regret your decision, and watch in envy as the chickens and dogs ascend with him.

There was a shift where it was very obvious the author stopped caring about the novel - the protagonist, Chu Liang, suddenly zooms through cultivation levels... more>> and reaches the pinnacle of the world in a single swoop after 250 chapters of slapping faces in the beginner village.

The latter half of the novel is where things get (relatively) more interesting. Protagonist reaches the pinnacle of the world, and now that there are no more faces to slap (at that point), the story shifts to him rapidly gaining power and unearthing the mysteries of his world. The actual plot of the novel all happens in this part, and it was fairly entertaining to read. The ending, while rushed, also wasn't bad.

Do I recommend this? Not really. But if you're looking for a short, 'popcorn' cultivation novel to read, this isn't a terrible option.

tldr; first half of the novel is slop, second half is less slop. Short fast food novel to read only when extremely bored. <<less

Okay start but getting worse and worse, experienced masters having fought many life and death battles lose all IQ points when meeting the MC causing repeated trouble for "pride" and dragging other idiots into it as well, no one can ever admit to being wrong, apologizing before it turns into a big deal is completely unheard of

1 or 2 people joins the MC to show they are "upright and loyal not swayed by rumors" but it doesn't give that impression at all, my focus is on... The fact that only... more>> 1 or 2 people in an entire sect/training hall act with any sort of righteousness makes me wonder how a civilisation could even survive or evolve to become like this <<less
