Please use proper spacing and paragraphs. After dying from a strange terminal illness, Ling Lan was reborn into a world 10,000 years into the future. Although she dearly wished she could just live a peaceful and uneventful life in her new healthy body, fate had other plans…
Forced to disguise herself as a boy just so she could inherit her deceased father’s premium military benefits, Ling Lan’s journey to adulthood was full of challenges. After much difficulty, she finally turned sixteen when she could drop the charade. But before she could grasp her newfound freedom to get married and start her own family, a twist of fate results in her being thrown into the Federation’s top military boys’ school.
With these twists of fate, Ling Lan had little choice but to walk further and further down a path of no return, one of cold and aloof dominance…

-Reread the title and the tags. This ain’t shoujo. 😘
- First author mentioned a couple details pertaining to that. And with their own temperament/facades I thought it was fairly obvious why.
🙂
- Did you even read. 1. They’d be fodders for the wolves if it weren’t for Mama Lan’s choice. 2. Welp, Daddy Ling’s blunder. What’s done is done. 3. Ling Lan wanted to temper the team to be ready for war. 4. She realised she likes her military life now. And the most important: It’s a tragically misogynistic setting.
- 🙂 As if you read somewhere that self conscious AI is raining down everywhere.
- I wonder what were the life and death events were for 🤯
2. Challenges levels up as the characters grow. (Characters. Grow. ✨) MC was also once an impatient, immature, hapless chap. MC’s friends were once rowdy kids. They’re gradually maturing, their strength didn’t come from nothing. And they aren’t OP at all. What about the divine realm masters? What of the three marshals?
What of Ling Xiao and Xie Yi’s sacrifice?
As for whether it’s a good sci-fi, I’m new to the genre so can’t comment on that. Overall, I like it anyway. (Yes, even if ML is flawed, author made a note on that. And with how immaculate Ling Lan is to my eyes I don’t think I’d be satisfied with anyone else. But so far I don’t find ML a sore eye. His mentality is a bit disturbing and confusing at first but ones you catch how and why he came to have such thoughts then you’d find it’s actually not that negative)
- The author spoils all mayor plot developments up to 200 chapters in advance. This kills any potential for long term tension, since you always know roughly what's going to happen.
- This novel is a sci-fi written by someone without knowledge about technology and nature. The author doesn't even research the properties of a block hole, it is painful. Often she uses weapons e. G. Lasers, rockets like a school of magic where the properties change whenever the caster (mechanic) wants. It was better after I decided to see this as a fantasy novel.
- She is a believer. Filled to the top with nationalism and propaganda messages.
- So much filler + extremely slow. I started so skip about 50% without having the feeling to miss out for the last 100 chapters.
Will I revisit this novel? Probably not, a proper romance or gender reviling would have kept me going. But I read some other reviews and now I have no reason to... more>>In a capture the flag-esque tournament, the MC somehow becomes able to move their flag last minute. Maybe a dozen chapters before exploring a new planet with underwater creatures, the MC "happens" to run an underwater combat exercise. To justify how OP his team is, he beats them up. You read that right. Ling Lan beats people so they are all OP. It's as random as that.
instructor 5 possesses Ling Lan to save their life. Now, the author decided if they help Ling Lan then the learning system automatically self-destructs. Poor Li Yingjie gets some kind of PTSD from Ling Lan. There's a moment the author decides to make Ling Lan wipe his own mess - and then he backtracks the thought because it's too much of a bother. Apparently, joining Ling Lan's squad and leading one of 15 teams does not count as being a formal member, so he's not worth the bother.

- A lot of worldbuilding, from military to politics
Now I will say the weaknesses:
