The protagonist, Lin Rin was transmigrated into a fantasy harem-genred novel, originally written by his sister, which he criticized as ‘tr*sh’ during his previous life.

He is now Gur Fenix, a villain who would become the biggest evil man on the entire continent in the story. However, after he replaced this character’s identity, the name Gur had become Rin, and the appearance somehow was also his original appearance.

Well the name certainly sounds like BL and the summary only says that that is not the case without actually saying anything about what the story actually is. Certainly not an attractive novel but I picked it up because the cover image is actually the cover of a smutty Japanese LN about a healing mage who turned back time and brainwashed an evil princess. I don't remember the name of it right now. Turns out this has no relation to that novel so I dunno why it has the picture.

Anyway,... more>> here's a summary of the story: The MC finds himself inhabiting the body of the villain from his sister's garbage fantasy story. His villain system rewards him for acting in line with his role as villain and punishes him if he does something out of character. Unfortunately, each of the heroines find the villainous MC more interesting than the protagonist that they are supposed to fall for. With the demon king, saintess, sword master, and hero being swayed from the route they are supposed to take, what will happen to the world?

I assume that the title is foreshadowing the MC needing to eventually help the hero because the heroines aren't helping the hero. This is just my assumption though because at this point in the story the MC is still trying to be the villain and hasn't realized that things have gone wrong.

As for my review: I like it so far and think that it is a decent teenage isekai harem story but with a villain system thrown in. Honestly it's the same tropes you've seen before but with the protagonist being dense because he actually has a good reason to expect the heroines not to love him for once. These villain system stories are popping up more and more, so I can't really say where the average level is right now. But they are still fresh to me, so I feel that this is above average for the "isekai harem" genre. Not by much though. The author pulls the whole "Oh no, this is a crappy fantasy story!" trope to handwave-away the weak world-building. It is a lazy cop-out that I have seen a lot lately but at least the character interactions are interesting. <<less

The novel premise is interesting and worth checking out. I find it entertaining while reading this novel, particularly because each character feel like they are their own character. The plot not only revolve around the MC but the girls around him, the good aspect is that something that happens is unexpected which make it a fun reading experience from my point of view. One criticism would be how the author uses the MC sister identity as an evil god to kickstart the transmigration which is ridiculous at the time of... more>> my reading, but maybe the plot will thicken and the sister is no longer a story Kickstarter but somehow is involved in this plot one way or another. <<less

The novel by itself isn't bad, but the translation kills any good points. The translators are so bad that they just rely on the readers to edit the chapters for them. And as you can guess most of us readers can't be bothered to fix their mistakes or are just as bad or worse at grammar.

I can say this, the title is indeed somewhat right, if you take the first comma out, that is. By that meaning, this is indeed a cr*p villain. Out of all them "forced villains" I've read, this has to be one of the worst ones up to date. A villain that's forced to act like one, with a condescending vocabulary, but actually caring inside? This is not. This just just an annoying brat spewing insults and being an as*hat outside, while being a wimp soy on the inside. Comparing this... more>> with death flags is like comparing a nugget of gold to a piece of corn found in a dung.

Now, with the rant about the MC over, let's go on the second thing that made me hate his Novel with a passion. The translation site has to be one of the worst I've seen. I can understand it in theory, translate some stuff, have some readers edit some mistakes when they do happen so you won't have to revise and edit yourself every time something is found. And I applaud that. In theory. In actuality, this feels like nothing more than somewhat edited mtl with having your readers make it readable for you. The interface for mobile is also garbage. And having to create an account on the site so you won't have to opt to hide the editing thingies every chapter?no thanks. Also, there's something with ads? On next chapter of you do not want to help, but as I'm a giga Chad, I didn't have to deal with those.

Overall? The novel itself? Perhaps a 5/10. Average try at some wish fulfilment. Coupled with quality of the translation? Can only give this a 1*. It's that bad. And I salute those who can put up with it end enjoyed reading this, you guys deserve mad respect for your mental strength. <<less
