I didn't know this had a novel. I read the manhwa first and the manhwa is freaking awesome! I like the MC's character. This is a revenge story and the revenge is the main point but it doesn't get in the way of the story. In some revenge stories, the MCs keep mentioning again and again that they want revenge and does literally anything to get it. The MC here hates his master's killers and lived his whole life with the goal of revenge but he doesn't lose himself in... more>> it. He doesn't mention he wants revenge all the time, he does a lot of other things beside getting revenge but that doesn't mean his goal and motivation is not there anymore. Cause in the end, everything he does contributes to his plan for revenge. He's not extraordinary kind or unfeeling. He just knows how the world works and reacts according to his heart. I love his character development. The world building is very nice too. There's not a lot of side characters but it's not only a few too. I can remember them. It doesn't always go MC's way. He's strong and op but not illogically. He trains hard. I recommend reading this and if possible, check out the manhwa too. The manhwa has 100+ chapters. <<less

Actually pretty good.

Major characters aren't bad, with different degrees of development.

Plot isn't too obvious and is interesting as it slowly grows deeper than initially assumed.

What's weird is that in this world, a "demon cult" mostly consists of honest straightforward people, but the "righteous" are mostly twisted mu*derers and rapists.

While the novel is a fairly mature 18+ read, the art style of the manhwa looks like a cartoon for children, which is very disturbing.

honestly I have just started reading this but I have read the manhwa and I have to say this is really good.

the MC is neither a benevolent saint nor a blood-thirsty villain, he is sane and has a sense of morality and reason however at the same time he is very revenge oriented and does not forgive his enemies. the MC is pretty strong and op but he doesnt go around randomly and gains powers everyday... he trains very hard to become powerful.

the world building is like most murim novels,... more>> very broad and spread out but not messy, and this novel also includes the emperor and stuff which is very rarely seen in murim novels

i kinda hope the minor-major side characters get more depth however the main side characters are all really well written and they are pretty memorable

the villains are pretty interesting, smart andddd mysterious

so overally, highly recommended novel <<less

The only one word that comes to my mind is BEST.

the story has very good pacing. No tr*sh talk or drama, just pure action.

Story is really good and also has good fighting scenes.

And best of all its MURIM man and also completed.

Just give it a try

In all my honest opinion, it's a well executed story, with MC solely relying on his wills to move foward

Of course there are times when he got extremely lucky but nevertherless, it's still a enjoyable experience

I absolutely loved it! The main thing was that the main character is not mindless, yes he yearns for revenge, but he is not blinded by it, which is very very good considering the majority of blind revenge-obsessed MCs out there.

And the story is mainly very on point, another plus as there is no dragging or unnecessary plots.

Simply amazing!

Overall a good novel although I had to labor a bit in order to finish the novel. The translation is really good. The overall plot is interesting and consistent but I feel that the interactions between MC and side characters are awkward. Enemies throughout the story posed minimal problem to the MC.

It's a good action novel with some great characters. However, although the plot is ambitious, it lacks in-depth explorations of certain interactions between characters. It's very light when it comes to describing certain things and doesn't do a very good job in painting the picture of the scenes that the readers are meant to see
