Shao Xuan joins a friend in his expedition to a recently discovered archaeological cave. After he picks up an ordinary looking stone he is teleported to a different world and wakes up in the body of a small orphan child. The world he is in now is still in its stone age with primitive tools made of stone and the ways of the people are savage. Savage isn’t the only thing special about the people though, because they have superhuman strength, jump higher than trees and punch stones. In short, they are able to cultivate their bodies. Despite all this, it is a real struggle to survive because of the scarcity of food. Together with Caesar, his pet wolf, he tries to survive in this cruel world.

THIS IS A MUST READ!

1. The MC transmigrated to a primitive era x cultivation world with little to no cheat.

2. The world building is flawless! At the parts where details are needed, you got the details and at the parts where details can be vague, you got them vague. From the tribes and villages to the forests and mountains, you can almost imagine the scenes in your mind from the descriptions.

3. The MC got beast companions! At the moment, the MC got a giant eagle and a wolf, but I... more>> can see a crocodile coming soon. I have a thing for pets/beast companion novels because their interactions are so endearing. And I was not disappointed in this novel because I got exactly what I wanted. HEARTWARMING ANIMAL SCENES! I mean, can any one imagine a giant eagle hugging a human?! A cave lion cutely using his tail to knock on a door to announce guests?! Anyways, even if these scenes are small and hardly worth noticing in the overall plot, I still love it! Read for the animal scenes!

4. The relationships between the MC and side characters are wonderfully written! The MC develop familial relationships with his tribe and makes new friends along the journey. There are funny moments as well as touching moments. The feels just gets to you!

5. For the first time in forever~ The MC is single~ And I mean single in a way that not a single female character can be seen thus far that may be a potential love interest in the short or long run. I get tired of reading novels that have romance in it since things just get repetitive, cliché, or forgotten along the way, so it's just boring after a while. It's perfect for the story that the MC is single.

6. The MC is calm, rational, and values relationships with people. The one thing I really like about the MC is that he doesn't drag fights out with meaningless conversations or actions, he goes straight for the kill. Decision-making is quick and based on carefully thought-out consequences, very satisfied!

Overall, this novel is a gem! Highlyx100 recommend! This is unlike any novels I have read so far. The mix of primitive and low-key cultivation is ingenious! I wish more chapters were out because I just can't get enough. The MC and side characters are filled out with such depth and attitude that each and every one is unique. I am really impressed with the story! If you don't read this, you're missing out on life! ^O^ <<less

Knowledge-wise, this is the most realistic "isekai novel" I have ever read. The MC doesn't just "wow" the other characters into submission by bringing forth inventions from modern times, utilizing unrealistically memorized details about science and machinery. Instead he learns about the world, adapts to its rules / morals, and lives his life to the fullest as a member of his tribe.

This is an amazing novel, full of adventure and world discovery with none of the bogged down elements that usually come with other novels, such as "love interests" or... more>> "MC-Obsessed harems."

Rather, instead of a few measly girls, he gets an entire tribe that acts as his family <3 <<less

I really liked this story.

My reasons:

  • It's REALLY different. Seriously, don't go reading this expecting the usual tropes from xianxia or manhua etc. It' got a distinct feel to it, so much so that I binged on it instead of reading my usual favorited items.
  • World building is unique. Reminds me of the days of the Bear Clan. Our MC is tossed into a different world and has to get used to it. The world is different and the writer creates enough distinctness that I KNOW it's different enough to stand out from all the typical chinese web fare out there.
  • The MC does NOT start off super powerful. He get's a form of 'cheat'. But it's not so much OP that he's a walking cheater. He actually has to use his modern smarts and survive. And then build up his power and abilities along with new allies.
  • The supporting cast is well rounded. I don't get the feeling they are fillers. They actually FEEL and dream too. So over time you get to know the support group members. And care about them too.
  • The Translator / Editing by LESYT is well done. Very few mistakes found.
Overall, this is a good story if you want something different. Try it. You'll be surprised.

It's a masterpiece. The plot is, and so are the characters' and MC's development. Romance is a long way to go (not actually sure if there is romance) but who cares, Chronicles of Primordial War is a very rare novel with unique plot and amazing narration that is more set on survival and adaptability. At least here the MC is not a tr*sh that everyone in the novel scorns or underestimates, there's also no repetitive description of breakthroughs and Xuanhuan whatnots (fillers) that are already soooooooo annoying to read. MC... more>> is not the kind of person who plagiarizes things to become famous. Maybe this point is what made others think the plot is bland and dry but in actuality he transmigrated into a tribal society (Stone Age at that) so the MC is not given any other choice but put first the matter of survival. He excels in other ways though, like he's the type of person who shows great talent in leading and hunting. He's not OP, blessed by Lady Luck and Lady Wits though. By the way, I really think that his greatest merit is his talent in raising animals (Caesar and Chacha are so lovely) and toying with the Shaman. XD <<less

This is one of the most frustratingly good novels I have ever read. Frustrating because I feel its not getting the attention it deserves. Its well built and the slow and steady start gives readers something to look forward to every time its not like the other novels that depend on cheap thrills to keep readers interested at the cost of a jumbled plot. Its a wild adventurous fantasy that makes you want to explore with the protagonist.

I quite enjoyed this story espicially the world building part. MC is the usual calm and collected character and normally thinks before taking actions. The other characters in his tribe are also unique in their own way. Overall the story is exellent and so far the pace has been good

I personally like this novel. I like the MC and how he interacts with the world. The world has been built quite nicely and I don't feel like it is rushed nor slowed down. Then again, that might just be what I feel.

The story behind his development is nice and quite different from normal novels. I would give if a read is you are looking for an entertaining story, specially if you like Star Rank Hunter which is by the same author.

The only bad thing about this novel is it's... more>> translator. They release somewhere around 5-6 chapters a month, which is super slow compared to 95% of the novels out there. It also seems the novel was dropped since they have not release a chapter for 5 weeks.

I seriously hope another translator would pick up this novel because it is one of my favorites. <<less

Interesting and exciting. It is about a boy who was transported back to prehistoric land, where savage and humanity is coexisting each other. Don't expect any of romance, harem or some sh*t like that, because in this world survival to the fittest is a top priority than that farce. The MC's character is not bad, sensible, and cool-headed. Nothing like your general Xuanhuan like "tr*sh, tr*sh bin, some shit" line you would found in those novel.

I, hereby recommend you to read this novel.

Reviewed at c55, rated 4.

Chronicles of Primordial Wars is interesting, but the development is rather dry. It tells the story of a young man who suddenly woke up in the body of an orphan child in ancient stone age (?). Many mysteries abounded around the MC as he grew stronger, and this story was mostly about these mysteries and how the MC struggled to survive in the harsh new world, instead of simply about fighting evils and corrupted people. Theme-wise, it's strong and attractive. However, there's not much humor, romance... more>> or heart-shaking twists so far. Definitely not a shallow read, but less entertaining for those who likes their novels with a bit more hooks. Still, I'm open to hike the rate up if things got more lively in the future. <<less

Typical reincarnation... But the twist here is it sent him to a far cry primal world, so far I'm still hoping for him to lead his own group or tribe perhaps. 5 stars for laugh out loud worth end of chapters. Author-san knows how to portray a strange world with strange people in a humorous way

The beginning is a little slow but I myself like it give character depth. The story itself is interesting because normal in novels the protagonist will be transported to a magical medieval type of world but this novel gives a twist. I feel the twist make this story became much more interesting to read because I myself have not read a novel with this type of world. But it simple it is a good story and you should try to read it.

Most MCs struggle when Isekai'd into a medieval like fantasy world, whereas Shao Xuan is forced to adapt, and learns to thrive within a Stone Age civilization. Surprisingly this author managed to get me invested in this story set during the least eventful period of humanity, especially with how dim-witted the other characters can be. But the college student with the body of a child, Xuan kept the story engaging by incorporating some "new age" ideas like: fishing, animal companionship & food variety.

The focus here is less on filling this... more>> primitive hunter gatherer society with modern knowledge (like most Isekai) and more on the world building, surviving disasters and ancestral worship. With the known world revealing more of its secrets, to both the reader and tribe, as it continues to expands. Becoming rather chaotic, as many events spiral out of the MC's control.

Then things quieten down rather late into the story, providing enough breathing room for some Kingdom Building. Though rather simplistic and not up to my standards, I simply cannot dislike it, since the novel offers a unique experience. Even though it has no real ending. <<less

Nothing special about this story.

The idea seems to be promising: MC transmigrated in the primitive tribe of another world with some combination of magic/cultivation techniques. But the world and all characters are flat, pasteboard and simple. I was surprised sometimes by the dialogues between characters when they used present-day words and concepts despite being primitive people and had stone-aged lives.

MC is always Marty Sue. He never had difficult problems and severe situations with losses except for the beginning of the story. I've noticed several times that all things that MC... more>> planned are successfully coming to life. Hence I think that this novel is lacking the depth and development of MC.

The plot is boring and predictable. When I was reading, I had a feeling I know that every plot turns to end up smoothly and particular details don't matter. So I dropped this novel. <<less

It's actually on a whim when I decided to read it and I honestly really didn't expect that I'll enjoy it that much! This novel is sooo good and I love the pacing, the characters, settings, plot, just everything about this is exceptional. I actually spent two days straight without sleeping just to read it up to it's current translated chapter it's that good! And even with the lack or romance, the action and adventure made up for it so I don't think it makes the story lacking or dull... more>> in any way. Rather I hope that it stays that way because romance sometimes ruin the story for me especially it involves harem with whiny b*tches and annoying girls. <<less

I would like to thank the author to write such a wonderful story and the translator for translating this novel If weren't for him/her/them I would not discover this gem, it was the best of the best primitive story I ever read.

Unlike the story with the same theme as this one, the MC is quite likable (for me), he is a mature and polite person (uh, just check the label above and you'll know it) not like other MC in a story where he could only think of green... more>> (pe*verted thoughts) and had a golden finger. The MC here works hard to survive in this harsh world so that he could live a better life.

The world-building and adventure are one of the best I ever read--I recommend this novel for you to read!

And if you're gonna ask again if there's romance then I could only say there's none, the story mainly focuses on adventure, cultivation, and other things than romance. So, if you're expecting a romance then this is not for you. The genre and tag are already shown you that this novel has no romance so please stop complaining about it.

However, at the end of the story...

Spoiler

he married a girl and have children. As for who it is? you better read the whole story so you can guess who he ends up with since the author did not really tell us who it is but we can see some hint especially the mc's youngest (s) son bwahaha

[collapse]

And as for the humor part, honestly speaking, the humor is not force compared to others. <<less

Story:
Takes place in primordial era, harsh environment where hunting is the main source of food. So you can expect strong warriors, special powers, shamans and ridiculously strong beasts.

Characters:
Too soon to comment, but so far the main character's personality is not bad. He is smart and decisive. Not a complete jerk. Also the world is not painted as black and white, people do care about each other, even the 'villains' do care about the clan. Also you can feel realism in communication.

Being a person from the modern world, the MC obviously has better knowledge on how to use tools in the stoneage which gives him an edge over the others.

Surprisingly they didn't start off with when he first woke up but at a point after some months have passed after being transported. The intro briefly described him quickly learning the ways of how a 'savage' orphan child would act in a cave full of them and skipped the otherwise lengthy introduction.

The people apparently will awaken totem powers at around 10 years... more>> of age and do all those superhuman feats (ie jump power/ muscle power). Nothing magical as of yet, I hope it will stay a little more grounded to reality. <<less

This was written as the title said, a chronicle - A record of a modern guy's, along with his tribe, exploits, and experiences in a primeval world; the way the story was presented felt like it was penned by the protagonist himself as some sort of an epic that his tribe's future descendants can look up to and be proud of. I quite liked the simple writing, it didn't add too much flare nor does it try to build up hype forcefully, but it still managed to draw me into... more>> a world operating in a tribal society. There were countless chapters where I was just blown away because of the emotions they were able to convey without seemingly aiming for that effect. Goosebumps. It's so good.

Granted, there were holes in the story here and there; but if you aren't reading the story just to nitpick, you will enjoy it especially if you are an SOL fan like me. I thought it would never get translated completely as the early translations were very slow. But the last translator to pick it up did a really awesome job.

The story was more about the journey than the destination. I don't really care much about endings as long as they didn't feel like something pulled out of the author's ass. So, if you prefer stories with "colorful" endings, you might get disappointed. Otherwise, have at it. Stop wasting your time and read it! <<less

A beautiful story, a calming peace, this is not a story of a hero or like very lucky story NO!!!!! This piece is about one man one tribe, no illogical power scenario or arrogant people, and most importantly there is no villain and everything is logical

one of the best stories I have ever read I will say if the lord of mysteries is 10 then this will be 9.8
