Skipped towards the end in the raws due to curiosity. The MC has a evil twin brother that is the main antagonist of the series which uses the MC paranoia to trick him and the rest of his crew into thinking that he is him and due to that, MC is arrested. Once arrested MC gets rescued by his adopted sister/love interest (criminal) that is the reason the special task force that the MC belongs to is created to capture her. She is the only one that is able to tell the difference between the two and helps MC snap out of it and was willing to take the risk due to spending half of the series with each solving a case. Once free from his delusion MC, MC feels betrayed due to his friends not recognizing him. MC and love interest is encountered by the MC boss which already knew that the MC was not his brother and was just using him to be able to corner the love interest, which ultimately commits su*cide to prevent capture which leaves MC hating his boss. Before anything else is solved it turns out that the MC brother finds out about the plan to capture him and runs away and so MC goes to capture him because he fears that his brother will do more evil. Attempting to capture him, MC becomes a hostage but under the threat of fearing what will become of the world if his evil twin is let's loose on to the world, he chooses to commit su*cide by pulling the trigger of his twin gun, shooting him in the neck and going through him and hitting the head of the evil twin, killing them both. MC departs the afterlife with the thought of joining his sister. I don't know what's wrong with these Chinese novelists ending their series incomplete and with a bad ending for the MC. Examples being soul pets and will enternal. With soul pets creator being bullied by a fellow creator to change his ending for a more complete feel. I'm ultimately with this ending if they were an extra chapter or two with a reaction of MC death does to the other characters and how would the MC boss suffer from it cause in the end he basically caused the 3 siblings death and in which MC was innocent
