Bursting After He Transmigrated into the Cannon Fodder Omega

Yun Xingze transmigrated into an ABO novel and became the cannon fodder omega. The family business is declining and his fiancé doesn’t like him. According to the original plot, with his love-filled brain, he dedicated everything to the male lead Chi Yu, but ended up losing the marriage, before finally cutting his gland and dying of infection.

The former mecha genius Yun Xingze said: I am very busy and will not play with you.

After tearing apart the script, he was obsessed with mechas, ready to realize his past life’s dream.

Delicate and frail omegas have always been unsuitable for piloting mecha armor. However, in this year’s XingHai Military Academy’s mecha contest, a new omega student named Yun Xingze appeared, driving a pitiful second-hand armor. Everyone thought he was provoked by the broken engagement and ready to watch a joke, but they were shocked when Yun Xingze suppressed a group of alphas with his mecha!

Everyone: ??? Is this reasonable?!

Something more shocking is yet to come-

Yun Xingze broke the winning streak in the Mecha Contest!

The mecha designed by Yun Xingze was sold at a high price at the auction!

The mecha technology created by Yun Xingze is desired by all-interstellar mecha companies!

The whole interstellar wants to hold his thigh!

——–

After the dissolution of their marriage contract, Chi Yu waited for Yun Xingze to regret it, but the one who regretted it was himself. Fortunately, there is a rule in the Empire: AOs with high pheromone matching must be together.

Yun Xingze is destined to become his fiancee.

However, at the engagement banquet, before Chi Yu had time to propose, Yun Xingze sneered and severed his gland. As described in the original book, the pheromone floated in the air, and like a rose, withered quickly.

Chi Yu was shocked and heartbroken, but before he could do anything, another tall figure hugged Yun Xingze and rushed out of the banquet.

Everyone showed a surprised expression.

Even Yun Xingze looked at the person holding him in surprise-

He was the villain, Luo Wenchuan. In the original book, the second prince of the Star Empire was tall and handsome, but cold and unkind.

But at this moment, his eyes were red with anxiety.

I was sent this to read, and didn't sleep until the next day. It's so good! And sure, there are annoying things that I didn't care about, but that's honestly not the point.

Good Stuff:

Spoiler

- "Villains" get character growth. While most of them are written repetitively to emphasize how horrible they are, there are some that regret their actions and develop character. That green tea lotus omega that tried taking the MC's ex kept kicking until his face was exposed, his faults and masks revealed. Later on, he realizes that he's been horrible, tries to change his ways. There's also the MC's mom, and that guy who schemed with the green tea lotus. Sure, they were late, but MC was gracious enough to allow some in his company.

Author needs to practice writing how their villains act (giving them more brain), but character growth is portrayed very well. I even noticed how green tea lotus cried at night as he experienced social death.

- Omega Rights finally have better appreciation. Though removing or damaging glands make an omega into a "beta, " MC did it. He protested against his engagement by taking this extreme route, which caused a series of omegas moving forward to protect their rights. MC felt responsible for starting this movement, so he made an ultimatum. To get his great invention, they must ban the marriage bill that forces omegas to marry high-match people. It's all or nothing.

- ABO dynamic is not overly exaggerated, to the point where I keep forgetting someone's actually whichever subgender. This makes up for a great space of plot and mecha stuff.

- More action and mature romance. It's a story that focuses more on mecha and advancement than romance. To be honest, I prefer it this way. The romance is well-balanced for me, and I think that it's more of the Pragma type of love, where they know each other so well, like an old married couple. I think the 100% compatibility shows this.

There are different types of romances and shows of love. I think the author likes it simple and smooth, with a couple that is interested in each other's skill and care.

- Because the MC has enough weight, perpetrators get their comeuppance. Even the queen wasn't spared from indirectly ruining the MC's glands. She was locked away by the king, basically a house arrest.

- MC does not take things lying down. For example, a prestigious imperial research institution manipulated him into coming to their base so they could request his service. However, they didn't expect their manipulations to be called out and mocked. MC was angry instead of honored, and that is REFRESHING. If someone doubts him, he proves his skill when possible—like when his coach doubted his skills, he proves it in a coach-given 3v3 team. He doesn't call out the coach, since it was reasonable for for the coach to doubt. He simply proves it respectfully, in this case. In others, when the environment allows it, like when he's still learning mecha, he goes and proves himself capable against people that mock him.

He acts within the environment, like when he wanted to PK practice, he kept sending invites to challenge.

- ML is super decent. Even when the MC became a "beta, " he still dated the MC and loved him and confessed to him. Even knowing MC was a beta, ML proposed anyway, regardless of what anyone could have said to protest it. ML doesn't care about subgender, ML cares about the MC.

There are many more good stuff, but I am mentally sleepy. I wrote this right after I finished reading!

The summary gave away a lot for me. It spoiled the story.

Spoiler

I strongly agree with what this 7starkiller9 review said. Go and read this review you will understand.

The author really wanted to make the MC op forgeting all about the purpose of the novel about him being a canonfodder. If the chapters are longer I bet that he will be a god or an immortal. I hate the fact that from the beginning the MC has not lose even one match like what..... I couldnt get to see his character development I wish the author would start from the bottom. Instead the MC really tasted victory and accomplishment from the beginning which is ridiculous. The MC has the strongest plot armour here. The MC is basically covered with mary su halo.

I find it really funny that chi yu being the protagonist of the novel MC is reading is portrait as someone who is tr*sh and a scum. His personlity is sh*t and it is mentioned that he is not that handsome. And the ML being the villain is handsome and he only has a cold aura but besides that he is really nice, that is if you know him really well. I find this bullshit. Like why. I think the MC misread his novel. Author is really trying his or her best to paint the ML in good light. There is literally no villain tendency in him. Whereas in the novel "the interstellar plant tamer", the ML here is really dark he has no friends he is really set in destroying humanity. Unlike the ML in this novel where he was born as a second prince and was literally chosen as heir, even though he was banish to barren star after he return he still has someone who respects and care for him like teacher zhou. The ML in "the interstellar plant tamer" was really ostracized by his family, even the only person that he trust the so called uncle turn out to be a two faced bit*h that later betrayed him. It was after MC transmigrated and being his partner taking care of him and loving him that he abandon his idea of destruction but despite the MC being there for him, once the mc's life was threatened by someone he doesnt hesitant even for a second to kill that someone and he executes his plans really well without flaws. He knows what he is doing and he is really smart. The MC being the only source of happiness for him, the ML really does his best to protect him even after the MC said that he doesnt need it. Even though his personality is a lot better after meeting the MC if the MC dies then he will surely turn the world upside down. Even though his life has been a lot better with the MC he still hasnt gotten rid of his villain mindset. He even mention that he dont need any friends and it was the MC who tries to convince him that warming up to people wasnt bad and even if those people leave he will always be there for ml. The ML in the end finally made some friends, together with the "suppose to be" protagonist of the novel the MC has transmigrated. And the protagonist of the novel the MC read is really worthy being called protagonist he is strong, handsome, kind and a little bit s*upid. He doesnt get on the ML and mc's nerves. So if you guys like genres like this then I suggest you read the interstellar plant tamer novel. It is far better than this.

The thing that baffles me the most is that every character is so oblivious about the MC sudden rise of his power and mental something. An omega whose entire life has never touch a mecha suddenly is a mecha god. I would understand if he is in his original body but reborn to a better physical state.... Like pls author at this point why dont you change the name of this novel.

Reading comments reacting to every chapter to this novel, I dont understand the hype. I just read this only for the sake of completing what I have pick up. I have never given any novel this low rating before but this surely deserve it. And someone haa to change the summary, only reading the summary gave out the entire story.

Boring.

The plot is okay, but characters personality are nonsense. They didn't have fondation at a. Those characters just become unreasonably good and bad just to match their role as protagonist and antagonist. This novel is the type of everyone is brainless except MC & ML.

I don't like how the author play ML as MC's saviour just to highlight he was the ML when it is the work of universe to make it happen.

I guess the author just not that creative.

The story isn't half bad, not what I expected but it was an alright read.

I'll say that the story does seem to deteriorate at the end, however, if you turn off your brain, you should still be able to enjoy it. (Deterioration in the sense that the characters make less sense, less thought was put in for the ending for some characters etc.)
The story is quite "perfect", almost like a fairytale, because reality rarely treats us that nicely, with so many coincidences that it's definitely plot armor, but the MC and ML are decently thought out, some parts seem flawed (Doesn't fit with the setting of the book) however we can brush that off. Of course, I also believe that the MC and ML are rather likeable.

I don't find this book special in any way, it has some comedy, a lot of face-slapping and has a dream like romance, in which it's super unrealistic. A solid 3 star. I only give it an extra star because I'm too bored nowadays and this helped me to pass the time.

I love that this is not solely focused on romance, at least not in the first 3/4 of novel. It's all about a guy who was crippled in his last life, who now has the chance to enjoy the amazing inventions he created, and is now taking every advantage of that chance.

I love the focus on the games, and how YXZ was more interested in the actual Mecha rather than winning or losing the games (even tho he absolutely crushed them all- obvs). He's such a lovable nerd like... more>> that.

Spoiler

The events in the 6v6 fight towards the end didn't need to happen. It was fine when he made the super advanced Mecha, it was fine when he did super cool stuff with it. It wasn't fine, in fact, it was completely ridiculously over the top, when the MC had the other team dancing via mind control. Like, what? When was that ever a thing that was able to happen. And it was never mentioned again. I don't usually mind when a character is OP, but tit has to be based on the reality of the novel, not just thrown out there just cause.

[collapse]

The villains... some them are despicable beyond reason, while others can be considered to be victims of their own circumstances. Not saying that it's justifiable, but more understandable.

Spoiler

I was disappointed that he got to return to being an O. Kind of defeated the whole purpose, imo. After he was accepted as a B, the 'sacrifice' that he made was just belittled.

[collapse]

The ending was more than sappy, with everything turning out rainbows, but that's ok. The whole read was fun and interesting, not much ABO drama, aka r*pe, dub/non-con, heats and ruts (well, once and it was well done) -This note is for those like me who abhor this aspect of the ABO universe- A few sweet moments between the CP, great character developments, lots of face slapping and just a good time overall. Recommend for a light, fun read <<less

Genius Mecha Mechanic transmigrates into an ABO interstellar world. He himself is from an interstellar world, but one a bit more advanced. The person he ends up playing the role of is Yun Xingze, an enhanced Omega with no interest in mechas. With no SYSTEM to stop him and the eagerness of being a mecha-con, he flips everything over as soon as he arrives. Not only breaking it off with his fiancé, but directly entering the school mecha tournament!

The story is primarily a mecha action story? 😂 It’s one tournament... more>> setting and then another. With the romance and ABO elements mixed in. The story is a very feel-good, weak-to-strong kind of novel. Where the MC powers-up after each confrontation. Making for a relatively light, self-indulgent experience!

CHARACTERS: 9/10

The characters of this story are plenty likeable! Even the scum villains have depth to them (well, at least some LOL).

Yun Xingze (MC)

He was ill in his last life and thus only able to appreciate the mechas he designed through simulations. In this life, even though Omega’s are known to be weaker, he refuses to let anything stop him from riding a mecha! He’s very OP as a character, but the growth is pretty well distributed. His personality is the innocent!shou type.

Luo Wenchuan (ML)

The ML of the story is strong from the very start. He’s known as the No. 1 mecha driver in their school and, as revealed in the summary, he’s also the second prince of the royal family! Oh, and he’s known to avoid Omegas! The why will be explained later on~

ROMANCE: 8/10

The dynamics are pretty basic. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not fun to read! The pair is quite cute and their development exciting to watch. If there was anything to complain about outside of their average character settings, it would be that the story’s slow burn is reliant on lack of communication and misunderstandings.

SETTING: 10/10

This is the first interstellar novel that I’ve read 🤧. So I think of it as pretty memorable. But? Regardless of any biases this perception may have, I appreciated the author’s attention to detail when it came to mechas. They focused on the aspects that mattered, the mechas and the ABO, and left aside the rest that didn’t do anything to the plot!

PLOT: 8/10

As mentioned, a lot of the story is spent on mecha tournaments. Making it pretty action heavy! The main premise of the plot then, is the MC’s growth. The sub plot is the romance and the drama caused by the MC transmigrating into an Omega with a scum fiancé.

RATING: 4.3/5

I had a sudden urge to read a legit interstellar novel after experiencing a few from the Quick Transmigration novels I read recently. I’m glad I chose this one! It’s a good entry, since I got to experience mechas! Based on the other reviews, I think most people are concerned about the ABO aspect? I personally saw nothing wrong with it. And think you should read it regardless just to give it a shot!

RANDOM THOUGHTS:

  • Personal Enjoyment: Ahh I really enjoyed this novel. At times, I did skim the more action-heavy parts, but it’s very light skimming. So, 4.5/5!
  • Literary Level: For the author’s side of things, I think 4/5! With one of my main (petty) complaints being the lack of EXTRAS 🤧. As for the translation, it reads fine! It’s not the cleanest, but it’s perfectly readable.
  • Heat Level: Outside of some light kissing scenes, this isn’t very spicy at all. So, 0.5/5.
  • Drama Level: Although there are certainly conflicts outside of the mecha tournaments, it’s only at the climax that things become dogblooded. 💀

As someone who doesn't like reading mecha stories, I was so hyped for all the mecha parts of the novel and that's really saying something.

What I love about this novel is also the side characters, they have their own personalities and I love how some canon fodders and antagonists changed after meeting him.

All the characters have their own changes, albeit good or bad and even the MC grew. He is a Gary stu in a sense, but his weakness is that he is detached from the world. Eventually, he learnt... more>> how to use his powers and knowledge to help others and I love it so much. Also, he respects the previous soul he took over the body of very much. He preserved small details like his account and respected that he loved the scum man. However, he is not that person and I'm glad MC managed to live his life out in this lifetime.

Great novel 5/5!! <<less

Except for omegaverse arc in QWFOD this is the first time I read omegaverse where the mc- Omega cut off his gland.

Well, it's really a great novel. ML is a yandere slumbering deep, but since MC really loves him, his deep possessiveness didn't really wake up, unless MC was hurt.

Anyway, this is really a good Novel.

The final match for compensation is a bit cringe.

Spoiler

Both MC and ML are so op that the final 6v6 competition is like their home. No need to struggle. Also, mental attack where MC did mental attack and control the enemies mecha to dance.

Other than that, it's good I guess? It feel like the author have inspiration from action anime or manga for epilogue/final match.

Well written and great world building. I don’t usually like mecha but this really changed my mind and I look forward to reading more books like this.

CP was super cute and the romance was actually pretty spare but well sprinkled throughout the story. I wish there were extras which is a first for me considering I usually don’t enjoy reading the extras. Highly recommended!

Good read with lots of content. However, the story comes off like a boy/girl novel since omega treatment and rights have a strong similarity to the treatment of females and their rights.

MC, Yun Xingze, is a mecha genius transmigrated into a novel as an omega. He decides to dump the original body's fiancee and concentrate on mechas. ML, Luo Wenchuan, is an alpha prince.

The plot contains mecha competitions, mecha design, and omega rights. The romance between MC and ML is there but it isn't fluffy... reserved compared to most omegaverse... more>> stories.

This spoiler is about pheromones.
Spoiler

ML has his identity hidden for most of the novel. He is also allergic to omega pheromones but finds out that he isn't allergic to MC's. With each encounter with MC, ML becomes more attracted. However, there is a matching system but their pheromones never matched. Turns out they are 100% compatible but the result was discarded since it was thought to be an error.

To prevent a forced engagement with the ex-fiancee (they have 89% compatibility), MC cuts his gland. In this novel, killing the gland will turn an omega into a beta. Even though MC has become a beta, ML confesses his love and they become a couple. MC's gland was able to be healed back at the end of the story.

I really underestimated this book before reading it. All these good for nothing negative reviews, giving people the wrong impression!!

This book is fun. It's interesting and even has comedy. Amazing plot. I especially like the easy going nature of the MC.

However it's a slowburn. I'd reached 60's and there was nothing like romance. At least not between our main couple. So I'm dropping it. But that's just me, the novel's still a fun thing. Don't listen to the negative reviews. You'll especially be captivated by the ML; so charming!!

Novel is very tr*sh. MC and ML are so s*upid in my opinion. ML keeps complaining about eating vinegar but does not even make a single effort to even pursue. I really didn't like this Ml. He's so annoying and his character for me is extremely ridiculous.
MC is op but that's just about it. He's very dumb when it come to EQ moments which provides a negative effect when reading this romance.

tbh just reading this is enough to make me more angry and damage my brain cell. Would definitely not recommend. Regret reading this and would like to erase this from my mind.

The author doesn't seem to be able to remember the MC's character profile because MC's behavior and his initial introduction doesn't match at all.

In the first two chapters, MC is introduced as a genius mecha creator from a more technically advanced society that dreams of being a great mecha fighter but couldn't because he had a genetic illness. But later on, when as the story continues, MC doesn't actually seem very competitive. Like yeah the guy wins but it's repeated a few times that he doesn't care whether he wins... more>> or loses because he just loves mecha and he wants to see more of it or something. But isn't it his dream to be a master mecha fighter... why isn't he more keen about fighting then. He seems super excited about it in the first few chapters then after that it doesn't really seem that way anymore. It's even mentioned later on he's in some mecha fighting competition for the prize money.

And somehow even though he's a mega genius in mecha tech AND he's from a more technically advanced society, he hasn't created anything super amazing with the mecha he owns. Like whenever he adds or changes his mecha, it's like on a case by case basis and it's not like super amazing changes. Which I mean... seems abit of a let down seeing as how he's supposed to be a mecha tech master and he's only fighting against students so it's not like the mecha they're using are super cutting edge and powerful? Like he does win, and his changes are innovative but I mean... it's like a physics Nobel prize winner competing against a high school student in high school physics and barely winning. what's impressive about that? I could understand if his actual skill at using the mecha was weak since he doesn't have real life experience in that. But instead he seems like a master at using his mecha and his mecha itself is just good but not like wow amaaaaaaazing. When. It. Should. Be. Since. That's. His. Character. Setting.

the way his ex fiancé lingers around him and MC just snaps at him and then ignores it only for it to repeat over and over (and I only read 38 chapters) gets pretty annoying.

also MC is kind of lame. Like... so far he's had critical issues twice, and both times, he was rescued by the ML. Even though both times it's quite solvable for anyone with some common sense.

Spoiler

like when he suddenly went into estrus. He ran off, collapsed in public and then was found by ML and brought to the infirmary. but... he could've just called his friend who's ALSO an omega for help immediately after he found out he was going into estrus. But noooo he has to run around and collapse.

There was another incident where he was accused of using his estrus to win his fight. But I mean... he could've just looked for the alpha he was fighting at the time for back up. Especially because he was supposedly being penalized for using his estrus to win. Of all the people, the alpha whom he fought and who shook his hand right after the battle should know whether he was releasing any pheromones or not right?? But nope, he asked some questions, he engaged in some s*upid ass pointless argument with CY and then ML swooped in and rescued him. Meh.

It was a good read. All that needed to be there was there and everything was very complete with no loose ends vibe (maybe due to the lack of plot haha). It wasn't amazing but I would still recommended it.

Generally it's the typical weak to strong using past knowledge trope (mecha being the form of genius) and face slapping those who looked down on him trope (but it wasn't very dog bloody, lowkey felt that it didn't have enough drama). Luckily the story wasnt super technical-ly (since it was mecha... more>> focused after all) and the romance was nice and simple, not overly fluffy. The competition/ counterattacks were nicely written and didn't feel too repetitive (maybe due to the perfect length of the novel, would have liked some extras though). A legit good interstellar ABO novel.

Now for the rant that's just a rant and doesn't affect the quality of the book by much and may just be a "it's-just-me" thing, like something I just feel on my end only.

For some odd reason, I felt that some the antagonists (like the ones with no redemption not the hotblooded arrogant ones) were pushined a little too severely. I don't know why but the vibes when the MC was dealing with them antagonists were so.... Self-righteous and protagonist-sy (if you know what I mean). For example,

Spoiler

the way the queen was dealt with. Like... I dunno man. She was just thinking what she thought was best for her son and she actually loved her son a lot but.. It was just so messed up. She wasn't that extreme and I can honestly see it from her perspective. But because of the very strong protagonist halo, things just tilt in the MC's favour (I'm usually all for protagonist halos but something just felt off for me)

[collapse]

I just kept thinking if the cannon fodder counterattacks trope was used on our MC, I can see so many potential areas where the MC could be attacked by the counterattacker (ya know?).

Anyways recommended if you are looking for interstellar ABO novels with mecha and omega empowerment emphasis. <<less

This novel focused on the mecha aspect which is already a plus for me. Although there are a lot of dog-blood coded antagonists, their redemption near the end is pretty well done, in addition to their character development (although there are some that still lost their IQ). The protagonist is interesting enough to keep me engaged in the story, with him being mecha-con and a bear child, but still holds maturity if needed. And him putting in real effort, AKA not being OP on the first try is very commendable.... more>> Actually, most of the side characters are, they have distinctive personalities and aren't there to just be cheerleaders or steeping stones, all have their own talents and weakness (as already said before, even the villain has some worthy development).

Though I'd rather say the ending is a bit rushed, and there's one A-hole that still hasn't got their karma. But overall, it still gives a very satisfying ending. This novel has the typical iceberg-unattainable-high achieving-tragic backstory male lead, so you can expect how flat his personality is compared to other characters. Another minor minus point is for the questionable (?) falling in love motive. Maybe it's because I have just read an amazing work with god-tier characterization, but I am genuinely confused about why they fall in love. For the male lead, it feels like he just admires MC's talent, then when he founds out about their pheromones, it turned into the cliche ABO love trope. Then for the protagonist, I also feel that it was very shallow. ML just helps him a lot (gives him a lot of money too) then he also falls in love? Though we can reason that be it in his previous world and in this world, he had never felt the mainstream type of unconditional care. (Or maybe the money buys him lol, money x MC IS the only true ship). But eh, it is an ABO, so let's just not overthink and always point finger at pheromones.

Other than that, this is pretty much great. Yeah, the ending kinda feels a bit incomplete, but no expectations are let down here sir. It even surpass my expectation quite a bit. <<less

First things first, you just gotta know what you’re dipping your toes into:

Mecha, ABO, power-up plot

If you read the story & are still insistent on MC being too OP & whatnot, you dug your own pit. Even the author put a disclaimer, so I don’t know where your expectations came from.

... more>> That being said, just throw out most of your rationality, turn off some brain cells, & read with a blank mind. It’s much more fun that way, trust.

I didn’t think I’d like the story as much as I did. Putting aside a lot of the glaring odd tidbits strewn throughout the plot, I’d say the only real damage done to my soul was the fact that there are no extras. How the heck are you gonna leave me hanging like that?! I feel betrayed—it’s currently almost 2am, I’m fighting a persistent lingering cough while sucking on ricola drops, & there’s no extra chapters... so here I am, ranting my way on NU because I have no other way to fully flesh out my thoughts at the moment.

All in all, again, a good ABO sci-fi danmei that took an interesting approach on the social & gender mistreatment that usually follows this type of world setting. Not only does it touch upon stereotypical do’s & don’ts for alphas/omegas, but it also sheds light on the idea behind pheromone matching. What happens if you really are genetically matched with a disgusting excuse of a human?? The main message: don’t be forced to do anything.

oh my god my s*upid fingers literally deleted an entire paragraph whyyyyyy

There’s just a strong theme of being free from social constraints. Not saying that it’s anything groundbreaking or novel, but it does add a little bit of je ne sais quoi. <<less

Summary is basically how the story ends, but also incorrect. The novel is 80% MC being OP when it comes to anything mecha related and 20% showing off the love between MC and ML.

Spoiler

The last 10 or so chapters were kind of unnecessary. MC unnecessarily cut off his glands only to eventually restore it, unnecessary face slapping of every single character who harmed MC, unnecessary cut to tournament where MC shows off his ultra overpowered new and improved mecha, unnecessary showing off MC and ML relationship at the tournament. A lot of unnecessary drama cramped into a few chapters

[collapse]

I do like that the OGMC and OGML while vilified, did somewhat redeem themselves because they recognised that they were wrong and not because they were “sorry they got caught” <<less
